Sweetness, I was going to buy some Booberry but was at lunch and thought to get it at another shoprite on the way home. They didn't have it and now I'm on the verge of suicide.

I'm so pissed off. Last night I went out for pizza and burnt the hell out of the roof of my mouth. Currently I can eat little more than yogurt without experiencing pain.
No candy for me

I'm going to be me. I don't really do much on Halloween anymore. I wish I were still young enough for treat or tricking. Those were the best days of my life.
Most likely, I'll just be helping with handing out candy or somethng like that. But I'll be damned if any kids even come around this year. It seems like they've either grown up, or their parents are too worried that their kids will end up in the obituaries or on a milk carton. I could see how parents would find the school carnival (but I don't think that even that is done anymore) to be a safer alternative.
Anyway, I'll still probably hook myself up with some goods, despite the fact that I'm not doing anything. I suppose it won't be too boring.

D'oh! I completely forgot about Boo-Berry! I'll hafta get that. I was already stoked to find that my brother had gotten us some Franken Berry.

tonight on AMC: Friday the 13th "new begining" and "jason lives"

I'm going out shortly to a kickin' Halloween party.
Is there gonna be a Thanksgiving countdown starting Tuesday? Or are we going straight to the big C?

Well, I just watched the greatest movie to ever star Bill Goldberg: Santa's Slay.
After that, it's going to be alcohol consumption followed by Raptor Island on Sci Fi.
Chestnuts roasted by AJ @ 10/29/2005 09:01 PM EST
I'm watching The Shining on AMC before going to another H-ween party. To be honest I think I'd be just as happy staying in and watching more MoTU Season One (just picked it up yesterday) but there's too much potential for debauchary with all the holiday craziness in Madison tonight.
Chestnuts roasted by Gozer @ 10/29/2005 09:02 PM EST
Did anyone watch that movie on AMC the other night, Pinata: Survival Island? It was a movie about a killer Pinata which was demonic. It was clearly American and arguably a Movie, but I would hardly call a cheap flick made in 2002 a Classic.
Also, it was really terrible. Didn't even have that redeeming slef depricating tone of movies like Uncle Sam and Jack Frost (not the Michael Keaton one).
Chestnuts roasted by The Wukong Effect @ 10/29/2005 09:03 PM EST
I am so taping Friday the 13th flicks off of AMC right now. IV & V, to be exact.
Chestnuts roasted by Larry @ 10/29/2005 09:11 PM EST
Can't say I saw it. I was going to watch it, but instead opted to pop in my Elvira Mistress of the Dark/Transylvania 6-5000 double feature disc and have a real good time.

On Halloween, I'll be man #237 thrashing about wildly in Times Square at the Misfits Halloween show. Not going for the Misfits, but it's their show.

I am so stoked-- I get to go, at the ripe ol' age of 28, trick-or-treating this year! MWAAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAA!!!
I repeatedly bless my siblings and their fruitful ways. I have three nephews (locally) and the youngest gets to go trick or treating.. but is too young to eat candy! IT SHALL ALL BE MINE!!!!
Man I love this time of year.

I'll be doing the same thing I do every night: Try to take over the world!
That, and eating my Frankenberry & Dressing up as Magnum PI. Film at 11.

What am I for going to be for Halloween? Drunk most likely. I mean, yeah, I could put on one of my old cosplay outfits and prance around... maybe if I get drunk enough I will. But still, no trick-or-treaters will come, and they'll be nothing to do. Maybe I'll pop in my DVDs and have a marathon of Are You Afraid of the Dark.

Sucks to be me- I'm sick on Halloween weekend
So instead of going to a party like I planned, I'm stuck at home watching a crappy movie on ABC Family called "Campfire Tales" starring Ben Stiller's wife and other untalented actors. I challenge anyone to watch it without screaming at the TV. "You stupid newlyweds! It's no time to screw in the camper while a crazed pyschopath with a hook for an arm leers at you through the window!!!!"
Oh well, maybe if I down enough Nyquil, I can still go to the Haunted Corn Maze tomorrow.
BTW, now the new bride is being strangled through the roof of the camper. Hubby's gone for, I think.

Anyone see the new Ninja Turtles? I'm going to have to carve myself a Leo-o-lantern this year.
Chestnuts roasted by Brandon @ 10/30/2005 12:00 AM EST
As psyched as X-E articles got me for Halloween, I got nothing. It snowed in Boston today. SNOWED. I love snow but not yet! Damn! Slow it down... no acceptable reason to trick-or-treat, so I think i'm just going to buy some candy and pretend... All I have now is movies. Ghostbusters helped immensely, as did Vampire Hunter D, and it's off to Bubba Ho-Tep! SNOW
Chestnuts roasted by Mattman @ 10/30/2005 12:03 AM EST
I don't get to dress up for halloween so I'm wearing all black to work, it'll look strange enough on me since I keep my office as dark as possible anyways. best idea is dress my 9 month old son in all black, sounds fairly mundane, but trust me it's werid to look at.
stupid cartoon network says FLCL, but it's not.

My Halloween tradition since uh... 1998 or so has been to play Splatter House (the arcade version, of course), watch Ghostbusters, then dress up like something and go out to public places and act like a fool. Around here, Halloween is the only acceptable time to go out in costume and act like an idiot, and I'll be durned if I don't take advantage of that every year since I turned 18.
Halloween rocks.
Chestnuts roasted by Gorex @ 10/30/2005 01:53 AM EST
I'm clean up-hitting on those tarot cards in Constantine (the game). I challenge anyone to a deathmatch in that game...if it was multiplayer. Perhaps it was just a rumor that he turned down II and we'll get Constantine Tournament along with a sequel.
The Watcher is about to come on USA Network.

Tick-or-Treat night was horrible. My brother and mom were handing out candy this year. My brother had his darth vader voice changer mask on and this lady with her one year old had the nerve to tell him "You might have to take the mask off you're scaring my baby to death". Batch, you're getting free candy! It's halloween! It's a baby! It's scared of Elmo and poop too probably! Why are you out roaming the street critisizing people? So anyway, I think halloween is officially dead in this household. I think in another year there may be no Halloween at all. Take that you uptight mini-spidermans and bible belt Disney Princess's's! PS: Bad spelling is spooky! Happy Halloween.
Chestnuts roasted by Kennef @ 10/30/2005 08:22 AM EST
It's also available in stellar digital quality on Disney's "The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad" DVD that came out five years ago. Also includes karaoke videos for the songs and a storybook of sorts.

American Movie Classics just wants to be known as AMC from now on. It's sort of like when Kentucky Fried Chicken changed to KFC to avoid the unhealthy connotations of the word "fried."

Just looked through the Toys R Us Big Book in todays paper. The most funny/interesting item in it is on page 60: A Batman tv and DVD player with Batman symbols as buttons and Batarang-shaped remote controls.
Last night I watched The Wicker Man on IFC with Christopher Lee. Not scary or suspenseful, but it is kinda weird. I liked it.

Well we got one day till what I like to call "My Christmas" A freak like me, I just fit in perfectly with Halloween. Speaking of, I don't know if anyone was watching YTV from Noon to 1 today (Sunday the 30th) but they played It's The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown followed by Garfields Halloween Adventure. So hope some of the other members of the X-E family (espically the Canuck members such as myself) Also watched Loud last night on Much Music, and they were playin all Halloween/Horror themed videos, by the likes of Ozzy, Iron Maiden, Helloween, etc. Anyhow, before this post gets too long, just wanna say been loving the countdown Matt, hope there's gonna be an entry for the day itself and possibly the day after. As I've said before...keep up the great work on the site, thank you for bringing the spirit of the season back to me and many others...and we look forward to future articles, regardless of what they're about.

I'll be spending Halloween writing a seven page paper and lamenting the fact that our area trick or treated about five days ago.

Trick-or-Treat Night 1 of 2 is tonight and I'm actually getting Trick-or-Treaters! I feel so giddy about it. Only problem is I'm almost of out packs of mini Oreos and then I have to give out these pretzel things my mom got. I feel kinda bad giving out pretzels instead of something good like peanut butter cups. I hope no one eggs my house.
Chestnuts roasted by Mystie @ 10/30/2005 06:40 PM EST
Pretzels! I`d egg your house.

"larry, isn't it part V and VI?...to be exact"
They played I, IV, V, and VI, but I only taped IV and V. Didn't have a chance to catch the first one at all, watched most of VI. Kinda like V, haven't seen IV yet, so this is the deciding factor on whether to buy the DVD or not (knowing full well I'll buy the DVD no matter what).

Y'all are my crew...what would I do without the X-E blog?
New Rome tonight, finally, woo woo! They're showing last week's ep now, and it's the awesomely hilarious "Coitus is to make babies" scene. I dunno how the next epsiode can top this one
Chestnuts roasted by squee4242 @ 10/30/2005 08:40 PM EST
ROME ROME ROME! Can't wait.
After that, posting the final Countdown entry for this year.
Chestnuts roasted by Matt @ 10/30/2005 08:42 PM EST
where do they trick or treat for 2 nights? I wan't to go there. I just bought a crapload of candy for tomorrow. Woo hoo, it's halloween eve!
Chestnuts roasted by kb @ 10/30/2005 08:45 PM EST
Nice, I got two great things to look forward to tonight!!! Mere mintues away now. I amend my statement about not being able to top the last episode, since this is looking to be an Atia-centric ep and that will be awesome, especially if she gets all mother hen. Hoping for the return of Octavian too. Okay, off to watch!
Chestnuts roasted by squee4242 @ 10/30/2005 08:57 PM EST
Did anyone see the Simpsons episode tonight (I think it was last year's "Treehouse of Terror" episode). What was the theme song they made fun of? I think it was from some late 80's/early 90's sitcom. My guess was Perfect Strangers, but I'm not sure and it's bothering me.
Chestnuts roasted by Gozer @ 10/30/2005 09:32 PM EST
GOzer,
Yep, it was the theme from PERFECT STRANGERS.
Chestnuts roasted by The Manimal @ 10/30/2005 10:36 PM EST
I haven't watched the Simpsons in YEARS...kinda shady that you have to wait until November to see the new "treehouse" episodes but we have no one but MLB to blame for that.
Chestnuts roasted by phunqsauce @ 10/30/2005 10:47 PM EST
I hear that about Rome, Matt. And it didn't disappoint last night, save for the very uncomfortable incest action (I guess it had to happen - it's the only taboo they haven't covered yet).
I watched Friday the 13th, the New Beginning, and actually realized to my horror, halfway through, that I had never seen that installment before! Amazing, somehow it escaped my attention as a horror movie-hungry kid. It wasn't half-bad, save for the Jason-who-wasn't-really-Jason. That plot twist kinda sucked ass.
