Top five. Hmmm.
1. Computer (for obvious reasons)
2. TV
3. Playstation (need something for that TV)
4. Rikku 12" Action Figure (took me forever to find and I'm never getting rid of it. Makes me happy everytime I look at it.)
5. Comic collection (hours and hours of reading)
Looking at that list, holy shit I'm a big nerd. Oh well. And first?

My 5 favouritest possessions?
1. NHK, Kaiyodo and Yowie prehistoric animal collection
2. Jurassic Park Estemmenosuchus and Scutosaurus
3. Masters' degree (not official yet, but it's done, so it counts).
4. Fish tank with three bichirs (I know, my site says two).
5. The rest of my (mostly prehistoric) animal figure collection.
Wow. I'm a nerd on a different order. At least I have a wife & kid so that people don't think I'm a total whack-job (and no, I don't consider people to be possessions, or of course they'd be at ther top of the list).
BTW Matt, I saw your earlier blog question, and responded at the email address in the contact section. I haven't heard back, so I don't know if you got it, but the short version is, there's probably not much you can do--it sounds like a disease called Hole in the Head.

Well let's see:
-my 1983 Darth Vader helmet-box with filled with action figures.
-my four seasons futurama dvd set.
-the whole bunch of Terry Pratchett books
-the PC and...and...
-the original 40 figures set of miniature lead figures of Lord of the Rings
yeah, that would be the main thing, though my cd collection would follow immediately!

I only have one true prized possesion and I ain't telling, 'cause it's probably the secret of my power. But, I've had it since I was three months old. It's valuable to me. But, any five after that?*
1. Unicron
2. My tape of TransFormers: the Movie.
3. Spider-Man GBA case w/GBA and arcade collection carts (go Pac-Man!)
4. Big box of Atari carts, ah, what the heck, all my video games

Great and hard, hard question. Mine...
- My DVDs everything from Aliens to Zardoz. Well, maybe not Zardoz
- My Imperial Shuttle. The gigantic one I think Matt has two or three of, only the reissue one. Still, it's uber.
- My DEATH TO HUMANS t-shirt. Because everyone should be constantly reminded of how funny Bender is
- My cellphone. yeah, I know that's lame, but it's my connection to all my friends.
- My computer, I guess. It infuriates me at every turn, but I just can't do without it.

OK, my list (complete with mostly unnecessary commentary)...
1. A box with all my personal mementos in it (home movies, pictures, notes, etc.) I didn't want to clog up the list with all that stuff.
2. My camcorder. I spent many a youthful summer afternoon making (often embarrassing) videos with my parents' camcorder and I really missed having one after I moved out. I was able to get one for myself last year and may I never be camcorderless again...
3. My video collection. Most notably, my plethora of Kids Inc. tapes. YES, I KNOW it was a lame show, but my world revolved around it when I was 6. Every time I watch those tapes it's like a little vacation back to 1985 and reminds me of that innocent, psyched-just-to-be-alive feeling you have as a kid. Moving on...
4. My autographed picture of Greg Kinnear that E! sent me back in 1993. It doesn't mean quite the same to me now as it did then, but I was euphoric for weeks after getting that in the mail. Good times.
5. I have to say, my catalog collection. When I was a kid, I always got excited when the new Sears and JCPenney catalogs came in the mail (especially the Christmas ones). The ones I didn't wear out I've kept (some of the notable ones I did wear out I purchased again - thank you, eBay). My favorites sit in the living room and I love to flip through them.

1. Sliders DVD Set (I payed 90 fucking dollars for it).
2. Collection of Thomas Haden Church films along with episodes of Ned & Stacey and Wings on DVD and VHS (It took me 4 years to collect).
3. Sonic the Hedgehog stuff.
4. My notebooks (Nobody really needs to be reading my Mary Sues about Thomas Haden Church, it's a self-enjoyment thing. I know I sound like a psycho THC fan... well... I'm not *runs off with a THC cardboard cut-out*).
5. My sanity... except for Thomas Haden Church. Damn you, Church!!!

2. My computer. Gaming-quality.
3. My GBA SP. Rock.
4. My freedom. I can pick up and go anywhere in the world on very little notice.
5. The number five, because it's won me a bunch of money at the roulette wheel. Once bet $1 on it, hit for $35, pulled $5 off the game, let the remaining $30 (aka the table maximum on single-number) ride, and hit for $1,050. Pulled it off the game and tried again, but three in a row was not forthcoming (but it would've been sweet).

Prized possessions... hmm...
1 - The blanket that was made by my grandmother, given to my parents when I was born, in which I was wrapped when I came home from the hospital. It's in rough shape after 27 years, but I still have it.
2 - A dicebag with the embroidered image of one of the characters from my comic dressed as a D&D elf on it, given to me by my good friend Marcy.

MATT - BEST UPDATE EVER!
Okay, here's a list of some things I like and don't want to throw away or something I don't know I'm kind of tired and I have to write two papers before tomorrow in no particular order:
* My signed copy of Ender's Game (HAHA, Orson Scott Card came to my campus and it was awesome)
* My mp3 collection (when I need to waste some time instead of spending it taking care of my various responsibilities, I can always turn to music)
* Video games (I play them)
* My cell phone (I only have three friends but I talk to them all the time)
* Uh... my wallet, I guess (It has money in it and some other stuff, it would suck to lose it)

One more thing...
I think we have enough Matts on this site now to start some sort of cult. Perhaps Madd Matt could be our demon leader with a goal in mind that we'll chant and bitch about but never actually attempt to accomplish.

This thread has been dominated by the poll but few have mentioned the awesome Emeril special. I loved the sign "I came 2 see garlic." Flip on over to the Food Channel sometime and watch the guy. His fans really are that psycho about their spices. BAM!

Top five things? Herm...alright, in no order other than as I think of 'em:
1) My video collection (spanning both DVD and VHS, I've worked too hard at the eccentricies of it to just let it go - where else do you find a copy of Mr. T's motivational tape AND some never-heard-of after school special called 'Talkin' About AIDS?')
2) My Transformer collection, both old and new, and ESPECIALLY Fortress Maximus, because nothing inspires awe like a Fort Max in your collection
3) My bicycle. Cars are expensive, that thing is cheap and fun to ride.
4) My girl. I'm a love-struck fool, what can I say?
5) My banjo, because dammit, I'm going to learn to play that thing with skill someday.

1. NYC subway token I wear around my neck. I had it left over from a trip to my brother-in-law's father's house a few years ago, and threw it in my change jar with the rest of the spare coins in my pocket. Periodically when I went to the Coinstar machine in the supermarket to cash the change, it always got spit back out. I kept saving it, though, in hopes that one day it would be put to some use. A while later, I realized that I didn't have any important little trinkets or anything I could pass down to my kids one day... so I decided to take something really insignifigant and stupid and wear it until it became important to me. Subway token it is.
2. Baseball hat with 80-plus pins on it. Some of them are old Cub Scout pins, most are pins with bands and such on 'em. The hat? Worthless. Found it on the floor at a concert.
3. Bracelet given to me by an ex... well, I want to say girlfriend, but I'll just stick to "old friend". It used to be number 2, but then I turned 18 and got the design tattooed on my forearm.
4. My video camera. Not the actual physical camera, because I'm on my second one right now. Just that I have it, and that it's filmed so many fun times. I want to get into film, and having a camera for myself just gives me a warm, fuzzy feeling inside.
5. DVD's/CD's. 'Cause you can't go without music and movies.
