I used to have those kind of bracelets and necklace and to get them to gloe you would stick them in the freezer. I loved to wear them for halloween.

Tommorrow morning I start the Atkins diet. Cut them carbs! We'll see how long i last...>:O

Hey Matt. Great new layout. The site's lookin' better as the years go along.

Anyways, here is a disturbing little fact for you. I was checking out some Blog entries, and I noticed your girlfriend loves Care Bears. (Un)Fortunatly, mine does as well. In the summer, I got her one of those plush ones (the $5.99 ones at Toys R Us) and she loved it. So naturally, next time she was mad at me, I bought her another one. Long story short, I vowed to collect all ten of the bastards by the end of the summer. I eventually attained my goal, but I learned some very crucial points in the process. I bought the first 4-5 bears from Toys R Us and then got one (Sunshine Bear) from Saturday Matinee (a big ass movie store here in PA, you probably have one in Jersey.)

I was in her room with her when she was adding it to the collection when her face went white. Turns out, the one from Saturday Matinee wasn't the same as the Toys R Us ones. The big differences were the feet and the hair. The hearts on the feet of the Toys R Us version Bears were the same color as the bear. So Good Luck Bear's hearts were green, get it? Well, on the Saturday Matinee bear, the hearts were white!

Upon further investigation, I found that all the Bears at Saturday Matinee (along with Spencers, Hot Topic, and others) had the white hearts. So, I took it upon me to unofficially deem any bear with white hearts on his/her feet a ripoff bear.

Granted, they are not actually "ripoffs" as they bare the official Carebear logo, but to me, they just ain't the same as the Toys R Us bears.

So really, I just wanted to warn you so when you decide the woman needs more Care Bears that you go with continunity and not settle for like 4 bears with colored hearts and 5 bears with white hearts.

Then again, maybe I'm just a whippled, psychotic fool. Who knows....

Chestnuts roasted by NateAlbright @ 01/02/2004 02:07 AM EST

No Nate, you're right. We women are obsessive and nitpicky, it is best to pick one heart colour and stay with it. Besides, if you're giving out make-up gifts you have to be extra careful, since an angry girl will jump on almost any excuse to be upset. I'm not even being sarcastic...

Chestnuts roasted by Gabbylicious @ 01/02/2004 02:28 AM EST

Yeah, Gabbylicious is right.

I'm not that bad about it, but I've seen some women go nuts trying to find pathetic excuses to fight about. Although, they usually have another problem concerning you or someone else that they want to tiptoe around or don't want to address at all for some reason.
Note: Not always, though. Some women are just mean.

Read between the lines, guys.

8th post! my closest ever. love the new layout matt. totally represents your site. funny story nate! i got those glow in the dark bracelets @ the skyshow fireworks. your meant to put them in the freezer to recharge but mine never did :0/

Chestnuts roasted by Terry @ 01/02/2004 04:08 AM EST

I enjoy the new look too Matt. Let's get back to kick ass articles about kick ass things, non holiday related.

I was getting worried that we were going to have valentines day themed articles... that just wouldn't be right.

Chestnuts roasted by chad @ 01/02/2004 08:16 AM EST

Three in a row! The site is being taken over by girrrlllss. Everybody, quick, to the fort!!!

*bumps head*

Damn nostalgia.

In other news, I found a tape not too long ago that still had the care bear movie on it, that wasn't the interesting thing though. The interesting thing was what I found after the movie...

It was a short clip from a show that I can't seem to recall. In the clip, a little boy and girl are supposed to be trying to give their cat a bath (I'm assuming it's their cat). Anyway, they seem to instead wish the cat to be dead or so it looks from their attempts to catch the thing.

They end up getting the cat in the end (after squirting eachother 10 thousand times with their juice bottles) by digging a big ass hole in the ground and dropping a fish into it. Actually, I don't really know why I'm rambling on about this clip, I guess you really had to be there to see how messed up it is.

It looks like some type of Sesame Street clip, only ten times more demonic. Does anybody remember anything like this?

mmhmm... 'nother girl here... i was given all those smaller plush bears, and i just dashed to my shelf to double check their likenesses. they have all the same feets, but the one my mother got me (and i have dubbed an outcast and sent to another part of the room) has white soles.

careful with the bears, boys O_o

Matt, if you have some extra money to blow on a rare movie from Ebay, may I suggest "Rock & Rule." This is the Canadian equivalent of the "Heavy Metal" ( http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0082509/ ) movie. I saw R&R once years ago and I can see why it is a cult classic with the liks of Iggy Pop providing a villian's voice. Here are some links: http://us.imdb.com/title/tt0086203/
http://www3.telus.net/jcannon/rocknrule/index.html

If you do a search on Ebay for R&R another movie title will come up, "Starchaser." This was originally in 3-D and does have a similar art style to R&R. It would also make a cool X-E movie.

I think we need to send out a search party. 14 posts and no Killer Duck. This is just wrong.

Chestnuts roasted by Gabbylicious @ 01/02/2004 01:12 PM EST

I could go look, but all I'd do is spank her with a Hot Wheels track.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 01/02/2004 01:43 PM EST

Aww I was missed...how nice. I have been busy-ish. Weird for me, I'm not used to it. I like the new look. As for the site being taken over by girls, I won't respond to that comment except to remind that I am also a girl :)
I'm turning 31 in 19 days so I feel old and irritable. Not that I don't feel irritable on other days too...add to that fact that I have been spending nearly every waking and sleeping hour with my ex and you've got a missing Killer Duck.
Random ramble: just what the f*** does Viewtiful Joe say? Asian a go go baby? And what is the deal with his spindly little legs?

Chestnuts roasted by Killer Duck @ 01/02/2004 02:13 PM EST

I am too lazy to fix up a decent home page right now and really feel f***ed for writing in the first person...
I think Matt should review the movie Sasquatch starring Lance Henrickson. Anything starring Lance H. should be a classic. Except Sasquatch. The monster looks like he has the mange. Two wings down.

Chestnuts roasted by Killer Duck @ 01/02/2004 02:31 PM EST

Nuttin' wrong with 31, I was born in 1969, and I remember most of the 70's. Explains why X-E is such a great find to me. Anything to keep the polyester flashbacks at bay. And the random visions of Pink Lady and Jeff.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 01/02/2004 02:47 PM EST

Let's give kitty a bath. LOL When I heard the title for it, I thought it would be a cheesy horror movie.

Don't worry Killer Duck, 31 is still young. And you're playin with toys and visiting childhood at XE so you're still a kid at heart. ^_^ And incase I forget in 19 days, Happy Birthday!

Chestnuts roasted by heeloyd @ 01/02/2004 02:50 PM EST

I play with toys on a daily basis. Yesterday I bought several cans of Play Doh just because I wanted to. I feel a little better knowing that king is older than me ;)
The give kitty a bath reminded me of South Park:
Cartman: "mom, Kitty's being a dildo!"
Cartman's mother: "Well now I know a certain Kitty Kitty who's sleeping with mommy tonight."

Chestnuts roasted by Killer Duck @ 01/02/2004 02:57 PM EST

There are a lot of people around here who are still waiting for me to leave emotional puberty. Play-D'oh, not just for breakfast anymore.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 01/02/2004 03:11 PM EST

My dog likes Play Doh too. Thinks it's food. Then again he licks his own ass too so can't go to him for taste advice.

Chestnuts roasted by Killer Duck @ 01/02/2004 04:23 PM EST

As the comedian said, the most you could probably get out of a real talking dog is, "You know, vomit really doesn't taste half-bad!"

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 01/02/2004 04:27 PM EST

Killer Duck: I'm pretty sure Viewtiful Joe says "Henshin a Go Go" Don't ask me what it means, I haven't got a clue.

I like the new site design, especially the various site links at the top. Also, the larger article pics are nice for those of us with Higher res. monitors.

BTW, I was in Target today; no luck on Shoutin' Orange Tangergreen, but I did notice that they had serveral Playmobil advent calendars for about 11 bucks. They also had a playmobil "ornament Pack" Sadly, no Killer Reindeer in the ornament pack.

Chestnuts roasted by Cameron @ 01/02/2004 04:34 PM EST

Cameron, while the ornament pack lacks ol' KD, it's where Miss Snowman and the humanoid versions of Pauly and Bird come from. ;)

Chestnuts roasted by Matt @ 01/02/2004 04:36 PM EST

Recipe for playdough:

3cups flour
3cups water
3tablespoons oil
1&1/2cups salt
2tablespoons cream of tartar(a spice)
Food coloring of your choice.

Mix and cook over very low heat until not sticky to touch. Just takes a few minutes.

I have made this before and it doesn't quite have the smell as the real stuff but the texture is almost identical. You can make all the playdough you want without buying the little tubs of it. Make a batch of each color and make tons of playdough figurines!

"Caution" Your arm will get sore when stirring this. Once it forms a ball or single mass it would probably be easier to use your bare hands to mix it.

Have Fun!! ^_^

Chestnuts roasted by heeloyd @ 01/02/2004 05:36 PM EST

Once you get a good-sized glob, just side-arm whip it at some object. VVVIIPPP-PANGG! Anyone who had 'doh fights in elementary can tell you about at least one good smack on the back of the head. I'm not disruptive, but I am a catalyst.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 01/02/2004 05:45 PM EST

Well, "Henshin" is Japanese for "transform" or something along those lines. I know when watching my fansub of "Kamen Rider J" or "Black", the Rider in question calls out "henshin" and the subtitle says "transform".

Chestnuts roasted by ShadowWing the Technorganic Autobot @ 01/02/2004 06:19 PM EST

Ok...then it probably is referring to when Joe changes into Viewtiful Joe.

Chestnuts roasted by Cameron @ 01/02/2004 06:59 PM EST

Henshin a go go...well sheit. Knowing it means transform makes sense. Thing is, he says it about a thousand times when my roommate is playing. I have to admit, henshin a go go sounds a bit better than "transform a go go." But why have all the rest of it be in English?
Should be play doh a go go because that rhymes.

Chestnuts roasted by Killer Duck @ 01/02/2004 08:11 PM EST

what game is this with the go go stuff?

Chestnuts roasted by heeloyd @ 01/02/2004 09:18 PM EST

heeloyd, it is from Viewtiful Joe for Game Cube...another gift from my lovely brother...I am so sick of hearing it...roommate has been playing for much of the day with the volume up beyond loud.

Chestnuts roasted by Killer Duck @ 01/02/2004 10:07 PM EST

I know the word "henshin" means "transform" from reading about the Japanese version of "Sailor Moon" online. And people say TV isn't educational. ; 0 )

Hmmm. The Cheer Bear I won from the Wildwood boardwalk last summer has white pads on her feet. I don't like to think of her as a rip off, though. She's just too loveable. I like the little curly-Q on her forehead.

Incidentally, I am also genus femaleus. I still love Care Bears. I never gave them up. My parents have all three movies on tape. I had Good Luck Bear as a kid, and a friend sent me a friend necklace with a Tenderheart pendant last summer.

Chestnuts roasted by starwenn @ 01/02/2004 11:03 PM EST

Yeah, tv is eduactional. I learned what henshin means from watching Japanese Transformers, big shocker I know. I dunno why it's the only Japanese word used in the entire game, but it has a nice ring to it nonetheless. I guess if you're not the one playing the game hearing that over and over could get annoying though. Crap, I'm gonna go play it right now.

Chestnuts roasted by Rood @ 01/02/2004 11:34 PM EST

yea, just thought I'd let Matt know that on his links to articles the link to the skeletor at peewee's playhouse links back to the main page but I like the new design a lot

Chestnuts roasted by piratenic @ 01/02/2004 11:49 PM EST

ME: Umm... don't bother looking for (or telling Matt to look for) Rock & Rule on eBay, because, if you spend the big bucks, you'll be kicking yourself come summertime, when Unearthed Films finally puts out a DVD version, or, rather two DVD versions, both of which may include a Clive Smith commentary track, but the deluxe two-disk set will feature both the American dialogue track and the rare Canadian dialogue track from the CBC version! (Unfortunately, Unearthed's site has a Flash interface and frames, so I can't get the URL of the page with Rock & Rule on it, but click on the front page graphic, then click on "Future Releases".

Chestnuts roasted by Steve Brandon @ 01/02/2004 11:57 PM EST

Starwenn, I still have the Carebears in Wonderland movie. Damn I love that movie; the Cheshire Cat's raps are the coolest. I love the one at the end when Grumpy joins in. So hott.

Chestnuts roasted by Trippy the 8th Dwarf @ 01/03/2004 10:27 AM EST

It is Henshin a go go. I happened to be reading the back of the box yesterday and there it was at the bottom of the game description: "Henshin a go go, baby." I think what makes it reaally hard to take after a while is that it kind of sounds like one of the ninja turtles from the original animated series. To hear that and think turtles but see Viewtiful Joe is just not right.

Chestnuts roasted by Killer Duck @ 01/03/2004 11:09 AM EST

You know, I just noticed the little cactus guys from SMB2 next to the names :) It's like a treasure hunt on here sometimes.

Chestnuts roasted by Killer Duck @ 01/03/2004 11:41 AM EST

"Anything"a go-go reminds me of the afternoon movies back when I was a kid, watching TV in the Bay Area. Channel 7 once spent about a month showing all the bikini movies they had in their grubby vaults. heh, Funicello-a-go-go.

Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 01/03/2004 02:24 PM EST

Ok, I've got a serious problem. I have a vague description of a movie from the 80s and I can't find it. All I know is that A girl's grandmother is dying and she has to go to some other place and steal a bowl of fruit from a witch and there's a blue elephant in it. (but it's not Max Rebo) Anyone got any clue? I hate when I can't remeber these things.

BOYAA! perhaps the female invasion is rubbing of on me...I was in the D.I. yesterday and saw a board game that I knew would be appreciated here. The Princess of Power board game! I haven't opened it yet, so I don't know if it has all the pieces, or even what the pieces should be. Anybody know if the game's any good? maybe I should ship it to matt, so he can review it so I know if it's good or not......hmmm. I'm open to suggestions

Just wanted to say that my original 1983 Funshine Care Bear has WHITE (okay, they're dingy now) hearts on the soles of its feet.

I don't want to start a war over the color of a Care Bear's foot (how silly)...this is just for general info. :D
