10/25/2003 Entry: "I still love my Shrunken Head Apple."

For those who doubted the workability of those Shrunken Head Apple Crafts, take a look at this. Remembering that I only followed the "official" directions halfheartedly, here's what my apple dude looks like now...

As far as rotten apples go, it's pretty cool. The biggest glory lied in the fact that I never hung the thing outside to dry, and it still made it to this esteemed point without ever once becoming infested with fruit flies. Vincent Price knew his shit, I tells ya. Working on a horror movie review now...it should be up before the weekend's over. Keeping in mind the holiday that's rapidly approaching, this is definitely a great flick to keep on your party reserves list. Countdown will be updated sometime tomorrow afternoon, with mummy action.

Oh, has anyone noticed that most of the stores are already shifting the focus from Halloween to Christmas? Christ! Kinda takes the steam out of the spookiest holiday of the year when all of the assorted Dracula decorations are hidden behind fat Santas.

oh i dont know.. some santas can be freakin scary.. theres a reason little kids wail like banshees when they sit on santas lap after being all excited in an hour long line at the mall..

Man...Vincent Price was the shit! He popularized shrunken apple heads, drove a bus to the Super Bowl, and totally shared this awesome chemistry with Scrappy, thus making him 3 times more funnier! Woooo-haaa!

I'm not into the Christmas spirit yet. For me that happens during Thanksgiving.

I dunno, Santa was pretty evil on Futurama. And lest we forget Santa Claws... His Slay Bells are Ringing.

At least Dracula has class, Santa kills indescriminantly

Then there is the troubling thought that grown men actually apply for, and subsequently relish, the opportunity to hold hundreds of squirming kids in their laps. If I ever have a child I'll never EVER let little Krang or Krangella fall prey to one of those poorly-bearded thrill seekers.

Holly crap, it looks like Large Marge from Pee-wee's Big Adventure!
Screw shrunken heads, show that little guy to wary hitchhikers, and watch the fun as they do a tuck and roll goin' 65 out the cardoor.

And when they finally pulled the driver's body...
From the Twisted... Burning... Wreck...
It looked like...
THIS!!!!!!

that is just the cutest little apple crap head i've ever seen.

maybe if we all go crazy and dress up like Santa, elves, reindeer, etc., for Halloween... then put up a tree and give presents on Thanksgiving... and things like that, we can actually shift all known holidays one step to the left on the timeline, creating really whack combo holidays.

(ya know, sort of like those crazy Ben & Jerry's flavor combinations sold in place of the original two flavors.)

the world's gotta fall into chaos sometime, why not have fun with it?

Wasn't the countdown going to include special guest writers? Are we saving that for the special day?

Down the road in front of the apartment building nearby they have one of those HUGE INFLATABLE Santas. It's about as big as the apartment building. What the heck? It's been there for about two weeks and it's creeping me out. I'd hate to look at that thing in October.

I just got one of the oddest e-mails ever. Maybe it's just coincidence though. I got an e-mail from Nathan Bitner! The size is 125k though, so it's probably junk mail or a virus or something.

Our local hardware store has a giant Santa and reindeer balloon, a snowman, a pumpkin, and two football player balloons.

I was at wal mart the other day, and they had this huge giant inflatable Homer Simpson santa. I went back the next day and it was gone. I hate to think of the person that bought it and the poor neighbors that have to look at that.

The grocery store where I work is still all-Halloween, but that's probably because of the size. It only has room for one holiday a season. Most of the other stores in the southern New Jersey area have at least a small Christmas section, including the larger Acme grocery store in North Cape May. The Family Dollar in North Wildwood's been selling leftover Christmas junk since September.

Don't forget to fall back tonight.

I followed the shrunken apple head instructions to a T. I still have my old-man appleyhead from '92. The system works, people.

I did that apple thing a few years ago for some reason. I actually saw it the other day and it's the spitting image of a shrunken head. Although I may have mixed it up with my real shrunken heads. HA HA HA!!!!

I actually did the apple thing yesterday, and although I didn't have to do the same rush job Matt did, it still turned out like crap. I popped it in the microwave for 5 minutes, entangled in brawny's paper muscles, and once it came out, my microwave smelled like crap. Not only that, but it shrunk significantly. Anyway, to all those interested, I'll probably post it's picture on my site in a few minutes.

I really did know that.

Chestnuts roasted by candybar @ 10/26/2003 10:41 PM EST

kennef, you got an email from Nathan Bitner? What was in it? Do you think it was really him?

Chestnuts roasted by Krappy Kat @ 10/27/2003 05:43 AM EST

I was too afraid to open it, anything with nathen bitner on it is bound to ruin your life in some way or another. It just seemed like it was a virus because the size was so huge for an e-mail. The only way it would be him is if it was a virus and if other people who posted in the photog board got it. Other then that, its probably coincidence.

Chestnuts roasted by kennef @ 10/27/2003 04:50 PM EST

holy shit thast cool the nathan thigie. although i never posted i did follow the photog story.

and did someone acutaly metion santa claws. thast funny.
