What is wrong with me that I remember watching this show, but don't remember the fancy painted opening?

You're nuts, Ubu! That's the ONLY thing I can remember about it. if I remember right, he was also in the ending credits doing different stuff.

Reporter: Scott! You ladies man! How does it feel to be the "All-American Teen?"
Scott: Feels like I'm looking at the wrong pair of circles! Hahahah. HAHAHAHAH. HAHA."
Um, I don't get it, but by all means carry on...

Kids shows used to have boob jokes.
My favorite comes from The Legend of Zelda, when Link shouts to the Princess, who is standing below him: "Looking good, Princess. Espcially from this angle."

Funniest. EVER. Matt, no need to appologize for the lack of articles.... the "Never saw it coming" duck, was the funniest thing EVER. oh man, and then the next line about Roger Cobb being loaded into a paddy wagon to hell.
You rock Matt.

that show sucked, but it sure was an oddity.
I think the movies like ghostbusters and teen wolf had too many adult situations for kids to see, yet we ended up seeing them, and they got turned into cartoons. weird.
Sex Sex sex sex sex sex. breakfast cereal. cartoons. toys.

Yea but he says he is looking at the wrong circles, what are the right circles? I figured it was a boob joke, guess I just overestimated it...

Yeah as kids we always see movies that arent meant for us. Our parents just end up dragging us along. Jeez, I remeber seeing Spaceballs and Naked Gun in the theater and not getting any of the jokes. But I still loved 'em.
It was even better when I got older cause I finally understood all the adult oriented jokes. It just adds another of the layer to the movie that makes it even better.

hehe omg Ubu... finally someone else that remembers Link as the pre-vert he was in the cartoon. didn't he say crap like "cowabunga" too? wow, nothing like Link in the games.
okay i got the circles joke, but i don't get the "never saw it coming" duck even though i laughed at it for about 10 minutes. is this classic senseless Matt humor or classic esoteric Matt humor? :

Ubu, I completely forgot about the "Teen Wolf" painted opening sequence, and I watched this show for years. I was a favorite of mine as a kid, but I haven't seen it in years, and I don't know how I'd react to it now.
As to seeing movies loooong before the ratings said you could, I've been doing that for years. My stepfather never looked at the contents of the video packages when he rented movies, and would habitually bring home whatever happened to be on the new releases shelf. Sometimes, this strategy worked. My family saw a lot of good-but-little-seen movies that are now hard to find, thanks to Dad. On the other hand, he'd occasionally bring home something that was age-inappropriate (R-rated bloody action flicks from the late 80s) or just plain inappropriate. The film "Indochine" is a lovely French movie about Vietnam's days as a French colony. It's also subtitled, which wouldn't have been a problem if my youngest sister was old enough to read at the time he rented it. My parents spent the movie trying to read everything that flashed across the screen and explain the political contexts to a little kid.

i noticed in the picture of him with the boob joke that he is wearing a shirt with a picture of himself on it. I thought that was interesting. I dont remember this show at all. But the articles are still funny.

Chestnuts roasted by heeloyd @ 08/22/2003 10:36 PM EST
The duck was the best part.
The only memory I have of that show is one episode where evil preppy students from a snobby school made fun of the public school kids (school mascots were invariably inovolved). In response, Scott, Stiles, and the pretty girl that he chooses in the end of the movie (because he already saw the hot blonde's breasts anyway) make fun back by pushing up their noses and saying "Tit tit, tut tut and all of that rut."
Never understood that when I saw it, because it sounds stupid. But now I relaize that it was a way to get the word "tit" into a cartoon (several times) without parents or censors noticing. Long live boob references in children's programming.

My first four "feature films" wer Disney favorites. My fifth was Pet Sematary.
This is why we expose our child to MANY feature-length cartoon movies NOW-- so that when we start letting her stay up late and watch our "scray" cheesy B-movies with us, she'll never be able to say that she didn't watch My Neighbor Totoro 1,759 times, PLUS any number of OTHER animated classics, before that. We also let her sit in with us during the milder episodes of Trigun. I love the way anime blends adult themes in with bright, humorous cartoons, don't you? :D (As long as she doesn't get into our La Blue Girl collection.... o_O)

I remember watching this show too. Don't remember the opening though. One episode I remember was the Howards having to work on a farm, and since they did it before school and some pigs got his school clothes dirty,Scott had to go to school in his work clothes, overalls and all. I also remember the first episode. They mentioned Scott's transformation into a werewolf started off because of his little sister having a moon rock in her locker,IIR. That is highly inprobable, becuase I remember my 7th grade science teacher talking about how much of a pain it would be to get moon rocks on loan from NASA,like they'd have to kept in a bank security deposit thingee, and stuff like that.

I remember being a very young kid and tuning in every Saturday morning to this show :) Teen Wolf and Muppet Babies. Nothing better! However, I never realized that there was actually a matriarch of the cartoon Howard clan. I think I had assumed that she was deceased, as she was in the movie version. And while we're talking about the movie...Scott's father is also a werewolf in the movie version. The way Matt worded one of the sentences in the article made that seem a little ambiguous, at least to me. I'm not trying to be obnoxiously critical, but I am one of those few people who cherishes this "Other Michael J. Fox movie of 1985" ;) Back to the Future? Meh… Oh, and if any of you have somehow never seen the Teen Wolf movie but are curious, do yourself a favor and rent the original theatrical version. The television edit cuts out all the best jokes and even more of the dialogue makes no sense. AAARRROOOooooooo!

To go along with all of this wolf talk... does anyone have any idea of what the name was of this show that had a Dracula character on it, a Frankenstein, some witch that always threw weird things into a giant pot, and some werewolf DJ that danced in front of some funky tie-dyed screen with ever-changing colors? I've been racking my brain trying to figure it out but I came up with nothing. Someone out there has to know...

Chestnuts roasted by Roddy @ 08/23/2003 11:47 AM EST
I remember this cartoon, although Matt didn't point out the two big things that stand out in my mind. 1) In the movie, everyone knew he was a werewolf...yet, by the time the cartoon came around, it was a big secret? Did Jay and Kay come in with that flashy thing and erase the whole town's memory or something? 2) His sister, Lupe (a semi-clever wolf-like name), couldn't turn into a werewolf, but she wanted to desperately. I remember watching this show a lot, so I must have enjoyed it, but those two things, not to mention the addition of Scott's mom, who, in the movie had her head blown off for stealing chickens from that bastard basketball player's house.

The funny thing is, I remember the theme song, more or less, ("Teen Wolf, coming out to play, Teen Wolf coming out to play... etc...") but I don't remember the hip werewolf paintings. But, no, I never liked the cartoon version... it always bothered me that they talked in stereotypical Transylvanian accents even though they were cartoon werewolves, not cartoon vampires. Also, maybe them eating dog biscuits might have been funny... if they had done it once, not every fricking episode!!!
Hilarious House of Frightenstein fans... "The Professor" was Julius Sumner Miller, who died in 1987. I always loved how you could tell that he didn't care much for the goofy horror motif of the show... but also how much he respected the intelligence of the viewers by never really dumbing down his segments, sometimes presenting very complex ideas the best he could considering he only had 3 or 4 minutes an episode in which to do it.
In other news... I've tried some of the Double Delight Oreo cookies, and, weirdly, Nabisco/Mr. Christie in Canada seems to have better creme-melding technology since all of them which I've opened up have been perfectly split down the middle and not "crescent moons" like the American Double Delight Oreos which Matt examined.

I was in the 4th grade (1983)when "Field Day" was rained out so the moms brought a movie in for us to watch. The movie?:
Airplane 2 the Sequel
I may have been the only 4th grader to already have seen the movie because I asked if the movie had been edited. Apparently the moms didn't understand what I was asking so 15 minutes in, there it was the
bare-nipple-tittie-shaking-x-ray-metal-detector-scene on display for 60 4th graders. That would definately qualify for an investigation, some firings, some suspensions and altered field day and video watching policy today, but they just kind of shrugged it off.

I haven't tried the mint/whatever ones yet, though, so... maybe those ones are the ones more prone to "crescenting" when the cremes are melded?

Before this turns entirely into a Slime Pit discussion, lemme just ask a quick Teen Wolf question- anyone else seen the guy with his pants down at the very end? I feel like I've mentioned this before, but I can't remember for sure. Anyway, after the game is won and Scott chooses Boof and Tinkerbell comes back to life and everything, check in the bleachers just before they start to roll the end credits. There is some dude with his briefs CLEARLY visible, pants unzipped and everything. I have no idea how that got past the censors and I know no one'll believe this; trust me, none of us did when some guy on my college swim team swore to it. So we rented it just to prove him a liar, but damned if he wasn't absolutely right. Has anybody got a copy of the movie so they can confirm this?

You're not mistaken. I just checked my DVD of Teen Wolf and sure enough, right after Scott and Boof hug after the game, you can see a guy in the bleachers near the top of the screen in a red shirt with his fly down and pants unbuttoned, briefs visable. Even more hillarious is the fact that the guy didn't even seem to notice right away, and a few seconds later he pulls his shirt down and attempts to zip up as the camera pans slowly down to the crowd below.
