05/08/2003 Entry: "God damned Hulk sunflower seeds."

God, this Hulk shit is great. It's everywhere. Honestly, aside from ABC's ill-fated Dinosaurs sitcom, I can't remember *anything* that's been ushered in with so much press and vigor. Even if you're not the type who does regular food shopping, make a point to hit a grocery store sometime soon. The amount of times you'll encounter the Hulk's torso on everyday goods and foodstuffs is downright incredible. The latest find: Hulk-brand David Sunflower Seeds, in larger-than-usual hulked up bags. Same salty taste, just more fun to look at. Also seen: Hulk Oreos. Still can't find the damn green apple Twizzlers, but good - now I'll have something to dream about. Oh yeah, I got that job. I'll tell you about it tomorrow. Coming up next on the site: an article about Kenner's old Return of the Jedi plush Ewok dolls. Why? Somebody had to do it.

"Not the Mama!" that cracked me up everytime, Chaos. Even though it was a blatant ripoff of the Simpsons, even down to the brother dinosaur's hairdo...come to think of it, maybe that's why I liked it.

Dinosaurs was on ABC, not NBC. and I don't know why you'd refer to it as "ill-fated", as it was a pretty successful and popular show. Its' the little things like this that hurt your credibility...

Sorry if my credibility is shot for mistaking a network in a blurb written at 3 AM. I'll try to pick up the pieces. :(

Actually, I would never consider that show a success. While I personally enjoyed it, the network was obviously expecting this to be the #1 show on television with the amount of advertising they did and the level of press the show got prior to the release. In a way, the promotion did more to HURT the show, since it raised expectations too high. It became the in-thing to rail on for a while, too, as 'Dinosaurs' was in no way superbly written or even all that popular in the conventional, commercial sense.

I wish it would've had an extra season, tho. Some of the episodes were incredibly offbeat - remember the one where the spoiled food in the fridge planned an attack? Classic. Despite the Simpsons ripoff claims, I never really saw too much of a connection.

Awww, man! Don't get down on the guy, he just got a new job. IMHO, chinks in the armor of credibility are inconsequential when they are surrounded by a force field of nostalgia. And I think we can all agree that Matt's vivid memories of the childhood that we all shared are what got us interested in this site anyways...that and a link from fark.
