Obviously, the new design is up, and admittedly, it's a drastic change from the old layouts we've had. All the e-mail has been positive, but some have voiced their concern with the site being too UGO-ish. Hey, I'm playing ball a bit. Sue me. They've been very good to me, and honestly, this isn't something I would've done if I didn't think it was an improvement on the old design. And certainly, I believe it is. I like the idea that X-E can retain some of its grassroots charm without looking completely like it was forged by a five-year-old. My writing covers that demographic, anyway.
There's a few special secrets hidden within the new design in various spots. See if you can find 'em. I'll tell you this - with some luck, you'll bask in the glory of Vanilla Ice's 'Ninja Rap' from TMNT II. We're now making lots of progress getting those infernal archives back up and running, so within a week or two you'll be able to get to any of the older X-E articles without any fuss. As an extra bonus, we're doing the archives categorically, not chronologically. So, if you want to read about He-Man, they'll be a specific page to see all the articles.

Happy B-day, dude! Longtime reader and first time poster here. I knew this site was a class act the minute I ran into the four-page long essay on why "the Worst Witch" is the most insane kid's movie this side of "Willy Wonka".
The new design is kinda... alarming. But, eh, I'll get used to it.
One thing bugs me, though: I'm twitching in suspense here. WHAT the heck was in those last three Playmobile Christmas boxes???

Uh, happy birthday. The site looks alright, but it looks...well, too much like UGO. Its's unnerving. You should find a sort of halfway point between this and the old site.
P.S. I haven't seen any flash ads up recently, which is good. I don't like websites screaming at me, nor do most people. You should refuse to use flash ads.

I personally think the new look is a major improvement. It just gives off the feeling that there's "alot going on", but maybe that's me. I loved the whales deal. And of all the cereal articles, Rainbow Brite seems like it inspired ya the most. K I Up.

The new look is good, but I prefer the more amatuer look for personal sites. I always laugh when people complain about Flash and pop-ups because I never see them thanks to adjusting my Interenet Explorer. In those dire cases when I must sign up for something I turn all that spying crap back on. I mentioned before, but now more than ever please link your related articles to IMDB.com

good new article. you've done better, but still funny. however, you bashed crispix, and that's not cool. i remember that one crispix commercial from a few years ago where they had some guy sit down, put in milk, and then they were all 'okay, lets go away and see what happens', thne an entirely differnt commercial or two would play, and then part 2 would come on, and the guy would eat it, and it would still be crunchy and delicious. that commercial confused the hell out of me when i was little. i was all "how does the tv know that it has 2 parts? my tv is magic!"
uh, yeah. i had a point...
i think it was 'crispix are neat'.

Great change, although since I've been stuck doing the same thing for like 4 months of reading this site you changin it is a big deal in my life at this moment. I'll remember it fro a while now and I can go and tell how I was there when it all changed.
