The shoe scene totally fucked me up. I just couldn't stand the thought of cartoons dying. It ruined me. I only ever watched that movie once more in my life and I left the room during that scene.

I'd have to say that the thing that messed me up by far the most was the original Garfield special. Odie gets sent to the pound and is going to be euthanized. This taught me what happens to animals at the pound and always made me worry about Pound Puppies later in life because they were in the pound too. That scene where the guy grabs Odie and drags him toward his doom just ripped me in two as a kid. My parents threatened me with this tape as a kid because it had that much power over me. I just sobbed and was wracked with sadness for days after every viewing.

Did you know that all of the squealing and squeaking done by this little red shoe was voiced by Nancy Cartwright (aka BART SIMPSON)? She's not credited in the movie, but she mentioned this in her memoir, "My Life As A Ten-Year-Old Boy."

I google searched "who framed roger rabbit shoe" and found your blog. I was purposefully looking for this sweet little shoe. Watching it die when I was a youngster (and even now) truly ruined my life.

I feel your pain, man. I watched that scene as a kid, & I only ever saw that movie once again... that I can remember. That shoe getting dipped haunted me so much that I never wanted to see Who Framed Roger Rabbit ever again.

I still remember being very sad when that shoe died. It was so cute and I gasped in horror as it was killed.

I Agree, Who Framed Roger Rabbit is a Great Movie, I wish he would produce more of this quality of work more often. The symbolism is amazing.

Who Framed Roger Rabbit...Is this really a story about the framing an innocent corporation?
