Cheetos “White Cheddar Snowballs” Winter Edition!

I've posted nearly a billion pictures since starting X-Entertainment, and during that time, I've experimented with many different backgrounds. So, mental note: Never use shiny, reflective wrapping paper as a photo background ever again.

Unsightly glare aside, I'm pleased to announce the revival of a modern Christmas classic: All-new holiday edition Cheetos! I've been waiting for Chester to give into his festive yearnings ever since those tongue-dyeing bastards of 2005, and while these Cheetos won't turn your mouth radioactive colors, they're suitably Santaish.

Marked as a "limited winter edition," these White Cheddar Snowballs resist any kind of denominational affiliation, instead opting for a central theme safe for those of any and every religion: Snow!

The bag didn't lie. The Cheetos are humongous. You'll be torn between eating them and using them to drop fifty-cent sideshow hecklers into water tanks.

They're also a bit yellow, which isn't an ideal hue for a snack based on snow. Taste-wise, they're less like white cheddar Cheetos and more like stale regular Cheetos, but this is forgivable, as Cheetos is one of the few foods that's arguably better when stale.

Getting back to the size, it's really something, and I'm not sure if adding a nickel to the photo was enough to convey their enormity. I've never been more certain that I could kill another man with an armament consisting of nothing but Cheetos.

It took some serious creativity on Frito-Lay's part to figure out how to market giant, yellow, roughly-spherical Cheetos as a holiday edition. Even if it's a stretch, you have to appreciate the effort.

Teddy: The only parts I DID like about “Shrek The Halls” Were Puss in Boots (casting Antonio Banderas was genius, as is his overall animation) and Christmas parade that Donkey sees. But I liked “Merry Madagascar” slightly better. I liked the characters more (Penguins & lemurs!), even though the only voice to NOT come back was Sacha Baron Cohen as King Julian.

I like the back-to-basics approach to this year’s calendar so far. The cast was too big last year and there were too many plot threads dangling around.

Darkside– Those Lipton texting PSA’s are crazy! Lipton made cat noises in one, and it reminded me so much of Lego James and his 2007 obsession with bear impressions. Roarmarkablous.

I have to say, Lipton (the real one) is one eccentric dude. The genesis of the AC character had nothing to do with the real life version. My sister happened to be over on the day James Lipton arrived, and remarked that he looked just like him. And so it went. Only later did I realize that the characterization really wasn’t far from the mark. Youtube the guy sometime. There’s one long video piece where he gives you a tour of his home, and I swear, he does everything except shoot fire from his hand cavities. It’s amazing.

As for today’s AC, running later than I’d like, but will be up a bit later. I hate work.

How old is he? His hands are looking unusually young and fresh for someone his age…. Perhaps he is hiding something?

Maybe he DID amputate his hands for removable ones that hide flamethrowers…

owant some serious entertainment? Check out the episode of Inside the Actor’s Studio where Dave Chappelle interviewed Lipton. It is hands down one of the most entertaining things I have ever seen on TV.

Chestnuts roasted by drew do @ 12/10/2009 5:41 PM

Matt That is what I love about Lipton so much. Everything you have him do seems legit for him, I hear the real James Lipton’s voice in my head when I read the lego versions words.

Pedro, I’ve read all of the blog entries too, and the articles from 99! I’m sure they’re not linked, but easy to find. It’s fun seeing how everything progresses, hahaha. I’m a nanny for 9 1/2 hours a day, and the 2 babies play with each other, so when I’m not playing, changing, feeding the babies, I have a LOT of free time. Hence reading every article. It took like…3 months for me. Brought back so much!

I’ve been wanting to go back and read the whole site, but the internet wayback machine doesn’t work on the site. Is there an easy way to go the whole way through the site?

WOOOT! I FINALLY got some snow. It happened last night. Hasn’t stopped since. Did a little shoppin too. I have some birthdays to shop for in addition to Christmas. As for James Lipton, he’s always struck me as an eccentric type of guy. And I mean that in a nice way.

psustu – Here’s the earliest I could find…

http://www.x-entertainment.com/articles/0180/

Just change the number to keep going throughout the site…I’ve read since the first or second post, but I can’t figure out how I found them. I’ll keep looking and let you know!

Also, this is probably a long shot, but the psu in your name doesn’t stand for the school in PA does it?

Does anyone remember the sequel to A Christmas story? I don’t think it was released in theaters. It was set around the 4th of july. I remember Ralphie and his dad trying to win some fishing tournament. Also his mom was trying to collect a set of dishes from the movie theater but kept getting the same piece every week. I want to say it was called A Summer Story but that could be wrong. We had it on video as kids ut it disappeared.

psustu….I graduated from there this past May. Small world :)

OK, today’s advent calendar is making me involved in the story big time. Here’s the deal Matt: I know that you probably have this all plotted out, but THEY HAVE TO GO FIND KNACKS AND KUSE! It’s gonna kill me if they don’t go out and get em back! Plus Waiterbot is pissing me off.

C’mon! I care more about THIS than I do what I get for Christmas. I want to know they are safe and back with their friends.

Matt: I’ve been writing a Christmas movie countdown on my blog. Tis the most aggresive thing I’ve ever done, and I have to say man…RESPECT…Holy Hell, I didn’t realize all the time it took to write these things out…and I write about 1/2 the word count you put in your articles. Keep up the good work, for as far as I’m concerned managing to get articles up every day or nearly every day is like an act of God…or maybe I’m just not cut out for it. :-/

Chestnuts roasted by Frito @ 12/10/2009 11:24 PM

I hear ya, Frito. Ever since I started my blog, I’m always thinking of what I can post for the coming week, and then the week after. It is a bitch, but I’m diggin it.

Chestnuts roasted by Berdo @ 12/11/2009 1:54 AM

Thats funny Dann. I never read that article before. I wish the pictures were up too. You think you could still sell dirt on Ebay or was that just a pre 9/11 boomin time?

Aw. Seemed like a pretty heavy A/C today. No lipton, ant farms, inflation, depression, and as V mentioned, even Mista bein a dick. Not a Christmas Magic feeling. lol

I got back from a midnight showing of The Princess & The Frog. I must say this: If you are a fan of Disney, good animation, the excellent music its movies put out, or just great movies in general, GO SEE IT. It’s the best non-Pixar movie that the studio has put out in quite a while. It’s also Disney’s first 2D movie since 2003, and it was well worth the wait. I personally think it also has some of the best songs that have been in a Disney movie in, well, YEARS. Jazz and Disney have always been a fantastic combination, and this movie pulled it quite well while telling a, well, more realistic Disney Princess fairy tale. If you count New Orleans voodoo magic and an alligator that can play the horn more realistic than any of the other “Disney Princess” movies.

Blog-wise, I happen to run two. My main blog, Beaming For Bunnies (linked in name) is for my random musings, mostly dealing with pop culture a la this site and the assorted blogs of fellow X-Ers.

My second blog, In 10 Words (http://in10words.wordpress.com) is much more frequently updated, as in Monday-Friday. It’s about summing things up in pop culture in exactly ten words. Since I write ten words a day on that blog for the past year, it’s been pretty tough for me to work up the patience to write anything longer than a paragraph, but I’ve been making do.

I’ve also been getting into the act of creating Advent-esque entries. Just last year I made a Thanksgiving Special with a few Nintendo figures and Transformers I had lying around: http://galileo908.blogspot.com/2008/11/very-dennis-thanksgiving-special.html By the way, I’m currently working on a Christmas Special, and I hope for it to be up before Christmas. After working on that first one, I gained a new-found respect for Matt and the Advent calendar. It took me forever to think up, write, and produce that entry. Matt does that for more or less 24 days in a row since 2002. Hot damn. Speaking of which, I’m starting to get nervous of the prospect of what happened to our Power Trio of Knacks, Kuse, and Mare. And Lipton. I miss him most of all.

ericnrosesmom: Here’s the lowdown on that movie.

Looks pretty terrible…

Chestnuts roasted by drew do @ 12/11/2009 9:25 AM

ericnrosesmom: By sequel to a Christmas Story, do you mean Ollie Hoopnoodle’s Haven of Bliss. That was on the Disney Channel all the time, back before it became a sitcom for tweens channel. I believe there was a third one as well.
