Cheetos “White Cheddar Snowballs” Winter Edition!

I've posted nearly a billion pictures since starting X-Entertainment, and during that time, I've experimented with many different backgrounds. So, mental note: Never use shiny, reflective wrapping paper as a photo background ever again.

Unsightly glare aside, I'm pleased to announce the revival of a modern Christmas classic: All-new holiday edition Cheetos! I've been waiting for Chester to give into his festive yearnings ever since those tongue-dyeing bastards of 2005, and while these Cheetos won't turn your mouth radioactive colors, they're suitably Santaish.

Marked as a "limited winter edition," these White Cheddar Snowballs resist any kind of denominational affiliation, instead opting for a central theme safe for those of any and every religion: Snow!

The bag didn't lie. The Cheetos are humongous. You'll be torn between eating them and using them to drop fifty-cent sideshow hecklers into water tanks.

They're also a bit yellow, which isn't an ideal hue for a snack based on snow. Taste-wise, they're less like white cheddar Cheetos and more like stale regular Cheetos, but this is forgivable, as Cheetos is one of the few foods that's arguably better when stale.

Getting back to the size, it's really something, and I'm not sure if adding a nickel to the photo was enough to convey their enormity. I've never been more certain that I could kill another man with an armament consisting of nothing but Cheetos.

It took some serious creativity on Frito-Lay's part to figure out how to market giant, yellow, roughly-spherical Cheetos as a holiday edition. Even if it's a stretch, you have to appreciate the effort.

I watched Charlie Brown. they cut the part out with the guy who complained about being a shepherd again. Made me sad. Wonder how much else they cut.

I just watched Year Without A Santa Claus on ABCfamily, and I noticed where they cut out 3 or 4 small scenes and lines. Bah!

Chestnuts roasted by DarthPez @ 12/08/2009 11:05 PM

Cameron T – Yes, I know! I was watching it and quoting along with it in my head and then…no shepherd line! Denied. Makes no sense to cut it…

Hey all,

Just a little venting here. I’m having trouble with Dish Network AND At&t…they both suck, and I’m locked into using both of them. I’d cancel DISH ASAP but have to pay all this money. How I loathe them. I decided to just buy an Apple TV and try TV off Internet through Boxee. Anyone do this?

Whew, feels good to vent. Stupid evil companies.

Oh swell. It is officially below zero out with a wind chill of minus 12.

I missed the first five minutes, but it seems that just about EVERYTHING from those first five were cut out! No Lucy demanding Schroeder to play Jingle Bells?! Blasphemy!!

Annette: I know what you mean. It’s easier to wipe snow off the car then to scrape the damn windows. They’re saying possibly snow next Tuesday so we’ll see…

For all the Oklahoman X-Eers out there, I heard the BC Clark jingle FIVE TIMES today! It made my week.

Saw Christmas Crunch at Winn-Dixie here in Georgia… in October. Haven’t been back since, so not sure if it’s still there. Haven’t been down any other cereal aisles lately.

X-E too is helping me get in the mood. It’s a rough Christmas here, battling unemployment and my family all being basically depressed… the usual Christmas mood is not here at all, but X-E and my 500 song Christmas playlist on iTunes has been all that keeps the spirit alive for me!

I’ve seen that blooper reel of the “wheel rolling out of the store” scene which is freaking hilarious. Sadly, the DVD cuts out all of Kermit’s scene, due to it being released AFTER Disney acquired the rights to use Kermit.

Andy-I saw Christmas Crunch at my Wal-Mart in GA back in October, too. I actually saw it before the Halloween Crunch.

I found some Pomegranate 7-Up yesterday at Hagens in Ferndale, WA. I’d never had it before, but aftering reading about it here I decided to try some.
It’s certainly an interesting flavor. I’m generally more of a cola person, and never really liked regular 7-Up, but this had a nice taste to it. I glad I picked up the bottle.

I’ve also heard that the unchanged Charlie Brown Christmas will air next week. I can only guess ABC ran…the version they showed tonight so it would fit into the half hour to make room for Prep & Landing. Prep & Landing was over-hyped for what we got, but it was an otherwise okay special.

Chestnuts roasted by Invader Norbert @ 12/09/2009 3:21 AM

Special K: HELL YES! You can hardly turn on the radio or the TV in OKC this time of year without hearing that thing. It’s not Christmastime in Oklahoma without it!

For you non-Okie XEers, this is what we’re talking about:

From the YouTube description:The famous animated :30 jingle television spot accompanied by the B.C. Clark Jingle, possibly the longest continuously running advertising jingle in the entire United States. The jingle was written and first produced for B.C. Clark Jewelers in 1956. http://www.bcclark.com

Good lord, a front moved in last night and it’s 27 degrees here this morning with a Wind Chill of 10. Brr..

Also, they put up a tree in the foyer of the place I work. Finally. But some idiot came back and put WHITE Icicle lights on it, haphazardly. WHITE. On a GREEN tree. It looks terrible…

Chestnuts roasted by Cameron T. @ 12/09/2009 10:29 AM

I’m actually stuck at home today. The freeway was too scary so I came back after a mile or so of not being able to see the road. And I’m bored. I suppose I could clean or do laundry.

Chestnuts roasted by kb @ 12/09/2009 10:57 AM

Frito: Wow, that thing is infectiously cheery. I think I’m gonna be going around singing “At Oklahoma’s oldest jeweler, since 1892!” all day now.

Cameron T: I’ve put white lights on a green tree before, but… icicle lights? On a tree? I’ve never heard of such a thing. It sounds like it’d look all wonky and uneven.

Chestnuts roasted by jazzy @ 12/09/2009 11:06 AM

jazzy

Yes. They ARE all wonky and uneven. Didn’t even cover the whole tree, just the middle section of it.

It’s finals time right now, and I’m inclined to say it was some well-meaning student, hyped up on coffee and with no sense of interior decorating.

Chestnuts roasted by Cameron T. @ 12/09/2009 11:20 AM

Snowed at home, and took me an extra hour to get to work between the driveway and roads. When I arrive, it’s just rain, and I look foolish.
