Jason, culver’s is alot like dairy queen only better. Instead of soft serve ice cream they have frozen custard in a different flavor every day, plus tons of sundaes, really good burgers and other sandwiches. My favorite thing to get there is the fried cheese curds.

Anyone here from Canada? And if so, are you familiar with the President’s Choice Decadent Candy Cane Chocolate Fudge Crackle ice cream??? It’s a seasonal 1.5L tub of holiday goodness that can only be found during November and December. It’s about as sinful as ice cream can get…..yet none of the stores in town have it out yet. I’ve waited patiently for 10 long months for this stuff, and here it is, 10 days into the month and nothing. I’m starting to go through withdrawals. lol
I actually checked out the X-E on Saturday night on my Blackberry but I didn’t post cause I was at BBQ’s getting drunk. I was feeling good until my buzz died after finding out about the health bill passing the House. I saw pieces of ripped cotton everywhere so I guess they just took down the Halloween decorations. I had a Bubblicious frozen drink that had bubble gum vodka. I never knew that existed but it was awesome.
BTW, prayers going out to Ryane and the victims of the terror attack at Fort Hood.
Andy that ice cream sounds awesome. Berdo I never heard of bubble gum vodka either. Sounds weird but might be good I guess.

Ugh, in my last post I used “I” five times in the beginning of five sentences. I really need to start proofreading my posts before I send them out to cyberspace.
Andy, I don’t eat much ice cream anymore, but I think I will have to head over to Superstore in the next few months to try it.

Well, I guess I’m done with the Halloween spirit whether I want to or not.
I came in from work this evening and at first thought someone had stolen all my decorations as well as my pumpkin. Turns out one of my neighbors (still don’t know who) boxed up all my decorations and arranged them neatly in 2 stacks on my porch. I’m talking a full graveyard full of stuff including skeletons, spider webs, spiders, rats and zombies rising from out of the ground. Also, the pumpkin, plenty rotten, was nowhere to be seen. I guess it ended up thrown out in the woods or in the trash.
I honestly don’t know whether to be mad that someone came into my front yard and messed with my stuff or to just be amused that they sat there staring at it day after day, with Christmas looming on the horizon, until they JUST COULDN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE!
At least they didn’t steal or vandalize anything. Just packed it up nice and neat. I have this vision of them sitting in their house, looking out the window pacing back and forth in frustration and anger until they finally exploded and decided that today is the day. Oh yes. Today is the GD day.
DJ D- do you live in a cookie-cutter subdivision with an evil HOA like I do??? It is amazing to me that someone would have done that! Its trespassing after all! At least they didnt steal anything or destroy anything I guess! Weird!!!!

Hey Gang,
Please forgive me if you already know about this store, but this just opened up in Rockville, MD:
5 Below; anyone been there? They have EVERYTHING! And it’s all under 5 bucks! I saw Madballs there last month. But tons of Charlie Brown, Grinch, all the good stuff already there. And the classic penny candies, and the new stuff too. My new favorite store! The site has a store locator. I am surprised no one has mentioned it here…

I couldn’t stand it any longer, I had to break out the X-mas Jukebox. And I’m not sorry!!!! Who cares if it’s not even Thanksgiving.
Chestnuts roasted by CakeMaster @ 11/10/2009 9:05 AM
Over the years Thanksgiving has just been absorbed by the Christmas Spirit. Like a pre-Christmas. You get to eat all the food and see all the family members who always forget you exist until the holidays, except no presents after it all.
But thats ok, because then after that it’s black friday and Christmas REALLY kicks in!

Now Iwant a Culver’s where I live.Sounds like it would be right up my alley.
We’re trying something different for Thanksgiving this year. The family will spend the day trimming the tree for Christmas and then sit down for dinner.

Black Friday has even lost it’s meaning! My husband and I scooped all the deals offered at our local CVS the day of Thanksgiving! Store was open, the Black Friday flyer was out, so, there was no need to wake up at 3:00 am and run out to buy my annual haul of truffles for co-workers.
What is the median age for the X anyway? It sure isn’t the Gen X group. Or do we just count ourselves as Gen X-E?
Chestnuts roasted by kingklash @ 11/10/2009 2:43 PM
I think almost everyone who regularly posts and relates to the things discussed here would either be GenX (aged 28-48) or GenY (aged 8-28). I personally fall right in the middle of the GenX group.

Thank you too, Berdo. I got word today that she (my mom) is doing worse, so she probably only has a few days left. But I’m ok with that. There’s no way she’d recover, and her quality of life right now is pretty bad. All she does is sleep and worry. She gave up eating a while ago, and can’t even do normal everyday things by herself anymore, so prolonging her mental agony probably wouldn’t be the best thing to do anyhow.
DJ D Your Halloween lawn story made me laugh That is pretty funny that someone would do that. I’m glad they were so nice (in a way) about it, too. lol
Alexander I’m from Maryland too! We have a 5 Below here also, but I’ve never been in it. It’s in a shopping center that is sort of out-of-the-way. But now that I see they don’t sell odd random generic stuff, I might have to venture out there soon.
kingklash I think most of us are mid to late 20′s and early 30′s. I, myself, am 32, but look way younger. Example: a few nights ago me, my brother and my sis-in-law went to visit my mom in the hospital, and they had a sign up that said “no one permitted under 18 years of age at this time”. The guard actually stopped me and asked me how old I was. -_-; lol My sister in law was a little jealous.

I’m 26, so I’m definitely not Gen X, but I’m not quite Gen Y either because I’m old enough to remember what it was like before all this newfangled digital stuff like internets, cell phones, and iPods. I don’t identify with “MTV Generation” either because I didn’t even get into popular music until probably 1997 and almost never watched MTV.

I’m getting ready for Christmas my own way….tons of egg nog, pumpkin pie, other assorted foodstuffs and a shitload of dvds! A Christmas Story, Ernest Saves Christmas, National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, How The Grinch Stole Christmas, A Charlie Brown Christmas, Gremlins….so awesome!!
