The “Turtles Forever” movie combining the ’80s/early ’90s Turtles and their enemies with the more recent Turtles and enemies airs this Saturday morning, y’all. On… 4kids, I think? On one of your networks Saturday morning, I’m sure… probably a CW network.
Happy birthday Mickey! It’s also Minnie’s 81st as recognized by Disney (so the facts I had to learn to give tours say), and, um, Radio Disney’s birthday. I don’t know what birthday number it is for that, but I don’t think anyone cares anyway here.

Andy Thanks for reminding us about the Turtles Forever movie. I have to remember to set my DVR for it. Can’t wait to see what the original B/W turtles look like.

Andy: Yeah, thanks! I had almost forgotten. Off to set the DVR now…

Oh btw…anyone that still does not own The Mist…I think Best Buy or Target has it for 3.99 on Black Friday. I’m getting up early to get it lol.
That and Forgetting Sarah Marshall and Paul Blart Mall Cop.

oh yeah…I think the last time I had to work a Black Friday in a REAL retail position was at Old Navy. OMG…the horror! 2002 was the worst year of my life! I can still remember the music the dam store played on that infinite loop. When I hear said music now, I get all tense and fearful. Oh wow…just sheer torture.

I’m actually not working on Black Friday this year! Sure, I work at CVS now and we don’t do anything related to that, but this is the 2nd one I haven’t worked!
The worst was the year I was simultaneously working at KB Toys and CVS. I had a 5:30 or so shift at KB which ended at 11 I think and then I went to CVS at 5-10. Also, I was too stressed from the morning shift to actually sleep between shifts. It was the best rest of my life that night.
Another thank-you for the “Turtles Forever” reminder. I set the DVR as soon as I read it here.
Also, I am digging the new Garfield Show on Cartoon Network. Once you get past the CGI (don’t worry – it’s based on the comics/cartoons and NOT the horrible live-action movies) and some new voices, it’s pretty all-new episodes of “Garfield & Friends” (minus the US Acres crew).

@Jon
Of course you’re gonna endorse the new Garfield show. You’re Jon! You own that Lasagna-eating cat.

drew do, I checked our Fox affiliate and they don’t show any Saturday morning cartoons, just these animal shows. Our CBS affiliate shows some “educationaL” cartoons at dark:thirty in the morning, but that’s it. The only regular network cartoons in the ATL are on the CW…on Sunday, for some reason. Which I’m hoping includes Turtles Forever…I’s ‘cited for that!
mandy_Reeves…NO. Just…NO.

I have a friend that told me not to get a real tree this year because my cat will drink the tree water and it causes them to get sick. I thought that was a problem with dogs? I guess I should consider the source. She named her cat “Pooey McFookus”.
On a better note, one week until T-Day! I have so much to be thankful for. Time to break out the elastic waist band pants and nap-eat-nap-eat-nap-eat-nap-eat!
Bill, we have so many of the pet creatures, I think we qualify as an animal shelter in some states. Never had a problem with the tree water, just slap a festive skirt on the tree and don’t use any of the preservative powder stuff in the water. Basically, just don’t buy poinsettias and be emotionally prepared to loose a few ornaments to kitten curiosity (the higher on the tree the better for anything breakable). Oh, and if you catch her climbing the tree, take pictures.

Thanks Velouria! I will because she is insane and the tree is destined to be prone at least twice a day.
BTW, is Velouria your real name or are you a Pixies fan? Either way, that’s awesome.
Sigh, I wish my parents had possessed the foresight to name me Velouria! It’s just boring old Amy (no offense other x-e Amy – I bet your Amy-ness is somehow more exotic and thrilling).
But I do love the Pixies. I’ve been toying with the idea of getting the doll from the liner notes tattooed on my arm for years now, but I keep chickening out. (The arm is so bold and my other tattoos are shy and hidden)

I am ALL about vampires and have been since I was a wee tot, but this whole “Twilight” and “New Moon” thing makes me wanna gag. No, I haven’t read the books, saw the movies or find them the least bit interesting. It makes me sad, actually… because they just seem so eyeroll-worthy.
Give me Lestat any day! (And I’m talking about the book version, not so much movie version, although Tom Cruise NAILED that role.) That’s my kind of vampire. <3
Robert Pattinson or whatever his name is… has GOT to be one of the most ugly celebrities ever, in my opinion. Ugh. :X
Also, Invader Norbert was talking about his Black Friday shifts, and that made me want to let everyone know that TRU made us work 12 hour shifts that day. No lie! I still don’t know if that was because of our store size, or a mandatory thing at all stores. But it was fucking torture.
Chestnuts roasted by Ryane @ 11/19/2009 4:22 PM
Ryane, I am so glad I’m not the only one that thinks that dude is one ugly mofo, ESPECIALLY with his sparkly vampire makeup on. Bleh.
Also Black Friday is retarded and I want nothing to do with it.
I have a friend that’s been posting New Moon quotes on her facebook every day for the last two weeks. They’ve actually been very inspirational to me. I look at them and think “Wow, my own writing has got to be better than that!” and I feel a lot better than about my own mediocre prose.
No offense to Twilight fans.
Chestnuts roasted by Cameron T. @ 11/19/2009 7:56 PM
The entire Twilight phenomenon…. Count me out. I’ve just heard the words EDWARDSEXY too much. That’s not the point of vampires. The whole thing has become a giant cash cow at this point, and it’s just getting stupid. Back off the soapbox, but into the bunker.
Chestnuts roasted by PlantMonster @ 11/19/2009 8:35 PM
No offense taken, Veloria, none at all.
I am so exotic and thrilling you would cry. If by exotic and thrilling you mean approaching the lower edge of middle age while living in Wisconsin.
Re: Twilight. I don’t want to hurt anyone’s feelings by saying it’s stupid or whatnot; everyone is allowed to like what they like. I am not a romantical type of girl, so I don’t get all gaga over stories like that. I can’t speak to the “quality” one way or another, because I don’t care enough to read the books. I just finally read all the HP books this year and loved them, despite what some literary critics have said. So you never know.
Seventeen or not, if I see a picture of Taylor Lautner with his shirt off, I’m not gonna cover my eyes.
Not to sound like a literature snob, but as someone who is paid to write . . . Twilight is the literary equivalent of a popcorn movie, as is Harry Potter.
This could be jealousy speaking as my works don’t sell millions of copies, however I feel at least 60% of this dislike is genuine.
I mean, hey, the Twilight books must be better than the movie. How could they be any worse . . .
Chestnuts roasted by wroclawski @ 11/19/2009 8:58 PM
The fact that anyone here named themselves after one of my favorite Pixies songs makes them aces in my book.
Amy is indeed exotic and thrilling. In that cheese eating, snow shoveling, non-romantic kind of way.

Mickey Mouse turned 81 today. Happy Birthday!
Sorry, I’m a big Disney fan. Especially the parks.
