They have hung the giant snowflake over 59th Street again. It always makes me feel very festive when I first see it, even though I know it could smash me to a chunky paste if those cables ever broke.

I’m too morbid for Christmas.

Ok, I didn’t mean to attack any vegetarian or vegan lifestyle. I just think it’s weird to simulate eating dead flesh. Just eat something else instead of fake turkey. I’m sure that there are some good vegan main entree choices and there’s no need to eat tofu that looks like turkey.

Also, I try to eat stuff like free range chickens because although I do not think its cruel to eat chickens, I never liked footage of chickens being inside tiny cages their whole lives. Let them have fun and run around the grass before they get the axe.

Man, I just used the word “chickens” three times. I’m starting to sound like wroclawski.

Kidding!! :)

DasTeufulNagatier, I was asking after books upthread about the whole “sustainability of eating meat” blahbity blah. I’d really like to reduce the amount of meat I eat, but I lack the willpower to really consider ever giving it up. The whole “Lisa, don’t eeeeeeeat meeeee!” factor has always been there, but the environmental impacts seem even more pressing to me lately. I’ve been rocking the Meatless Mondays, but I cheated a bit this week because my green bean casserole was bacon-infused.

So, what are everyone’s go-to Thxgiving recipes? I could use a good peh-kahn pie recipe. My go-to is green bean cazz, here’s a something I did on the youtubes about it? Where everything I say sounds like a question? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EMDR0HPzDkg

I used to be a veggie — and Tofurky was actually pretty tasty. I think it’s less about simulating eating meat as it is about kind of keeping that same Thanksgiving tradition around. Mac and Cheese does not scream holidays.

Luckily for me, I came to my senses, and I will be stuffing my face with the real thing next week.

I was going to say something but I’m just gonna keep my mouth shut.

Um, so how about them Ninja Turtles?

hooboy, well, i’m off.

Holy Jesus. DasTeufulNagatier did NOTHING to warrant any bitch-ass replies. Like they said – it was “merely a suggestion”. I think anyone who attacks that (after NOT being attacked/preached at in the first place) really needs to check themselves.

Well, for what it’s worth, I’m sorry.

Just a reminder, Saturday (Today) at 10am EST is when TURTLES FOREVER airs on the local CW network!

One day I shall find a farmer who sells live turkeys. And just before that year’s Thanksgiving, I will go to him, and pick out the biggest mama turkey that I can find. Then, I shall parade her in front of her offspring and mate to a chopping block, where I shall decapitate her while they watch.

My turkey will be basted in the horror and misery of her children. After cleaning, I will then brine and roast her according to Master Alton Brown’s instructions. Upon serving, her meat will be succulent.

The next day, I will visit the turkey farm again. While the other turkeys watch, I will eat a turkey sandwich and laugh maniacally. And when I have children, I shall teach this ritual, and it shall be passed to their children and grandchildren, on and on through the generations. Then, one day, in the distant future, all turkeys will have the name of Captain Will upon their beaks as the author of their dread and doom.

Wow. Am I an evil sumbitch, or what?

Calm down, folks, it’s a joke!

It saddens me and wounds my soul that Fright Night, one of my Top 5 favorite movies of all time, is officially getting the shitty Hollywood remake treatment. Since when did I live in a world with such abominations? Their feeble attempts at replacing Chris Sarandon, Roddy McDowell and the legendary Stephen Geoffreys will be pathetic at best.

“Dinner…is in the oven!”

Am I the only family that doesn’t have Turkey for Thanksgiving? We always have ham. I’m much more fond of ham than I am of Turkey, actually.

Turtles Forever is the best goddamn movie I’ve ever seen.
Also,I eat meat but I’m not going to bitch and cry because someone SUGGESTED tofu.

They’re remaking Fright Night???? NOOO!!!!

How could they make an 80’s horror flick any better? Those movies pulled no punches back then. I can’t imagine the new movie keeping the deaths of Evil and Jerry as wild as it was.

All I need is a remastered version on Blu-ray, thank you very much.

“You’re so COOL, Brewster!”

I’ve gone back to eating poultry and now I’m sort of regretting it (Why do they have to make Tyson lime-tequila chicken so good!?). Why is a turkey breast $13? Why is the breast itself so huge now? The hormone injection is getting a bit ridiculous, why are we breeding monster birds?

Oh well, mutant birds aside, it will be a nice change this year to make real cranberry sauce rather than the canned stuff, though. I love cranberry everything.

Turtles Forever really was the best movie.

The old voices may have been a little weird at times but we can just blame 4Kids and the Union/Non-Union rules for that.

They were just like the character selection in TMNT Smash Up. A small flaw in something that’s otherwise awesome.

Now show me the DVD so I can buy now.

Oh shit! I missed Turtles Forever!

Ghosted by Ricky @ 11/21/2009 1:43 PM EST

I have recorded Turtles Forever and can’t wait to watch it.

As for the meat/no meat thing, whenever I do eat meat, I usually beat it with a sock full of soap bars to to make sure it has suffered even more before I cook it.

I do the same with my vegetables. I’m en equal opportunity food punisher.

As for all these remakes, Hollywood has run out of good ideas, so they’ve decided to go back and completely anal rape any classics with their brand of idiotic teen angst and moronic toilet humor.

When the hell is Christmas??!?!?!?

Turtles Forever’s airing again next weekend, if my DVR guide is to be believed. I’ve only watched a couple of eps of the new version but this is adorable thus far.

Cool article about Yo Gabba Gabba! and their new Macy’s parade float: http://www.nytimes.com/2009/11/20/arts/television/20gabba.html

“Teddy Ray, if I want the opinion of a hugely fat out-of-work high school teacher, I’ll ask for it.

Teddy, catch you later, fatty.”

Wow. That guy said that? Matt must have deleted. I appreciate you preserving that for posterity, Rev. I’d also like Harvard McDouchebag to know I’m not hugely fat anymore since I ALMOST FUCKING DIED THREE YEARS AGO. On Gabriel Iglesias’s scale of fatness, I believe I am now “husky.” I used to be “Damn!” but now I am “husky.” Sorry about the outburst, kids. Love y’all

To all the vegan/vegetarians out there, keep doing what you do, but remember, for every animal you don’t eat, I’m going to eat three.

So, Turtles Forever was good? I have to wait ’til tomorrow to see it because for some reason, the CW station in Atlanta shows all the Saturday morning stuff on Sunday. Oh well.

Ghosted by Teddy Ray @ 11/21/2009 2:51 PM EST

Fat or skinny, who cares…..it’s not what this place is about and that dude was way out of line Teddy Ray.

Turtles Forever was great, and I was never even that into them. It was even worth having to watch a few minutes of SonicX while I waited. Not so good.
