Well look what we have here! A bunch of losers complaining that Matt isn’t here. Well let me just say this: If you don’t like it than move to Cuba. Matt shouldn’t have to cater to your every whim. Its his board and we should just put up with his absence. F$%k you for even suggesting that Matt post something. You should be glad to have this site. If Matt wants to sh$t on you by not posting that’s his prerogative. And if you complain, well, that’s just what socialist scum would do. Socialists expect to get something for nothing. Only in the age of Obama would we expect whiners to prevail.

Matt- if you don’t ever want to post again thats fine. I have no right to complain. I will make sure that anyone that issues even the slightest little criticism will be silenced.

Something feels disingenuous about that Otis post, though I can’t quite put my finger on it…

Ghosted by Rhino @ 09/01/2009 12:17 PM EDT

Not at all Rhino. I have been with Matt since 2002. We owe him our loyalty no matter what. He has entertained us for nearly a decade. You are probably too young to remember. Anyway you have been one of the Matt bashers and you should be ashamed of yourself.

Wow, what a great day! It’s September 1st and only 75 degrees at noon. Normally it would still be around 90 and humid at this time of the year. Now if I could just figure out some way to leave work and go enjoy it… Just 2 weeks until the state fair starts though!!!

What a great book choice! I’d say that Imajica is my favorite Clive Barker book, but The Great and Secret Show is a close second for me. Is it too cliche to say that my very favorite book of all time is The Stand by Stephen King? That and his short stories. The man is unparalleled as a story teller.
Jason
Interesting idea on remaking Killer Klowns from Outer Space. That is one weird movie! I really had nothing in mind when I suggested this topic but here’s an idea. What if someone took the great first half of Jeepers Creepers and then wrote a second half that didn’t totally suck, that could make for a great movie.

lovely, here I come to check the site for anything fun, and I find out the thought police are waiting to force my thinking to the ‘correct’ way. what a croc.

Ghosted by randombob @ 09/01/2009 1:19 PM EDT

Domo-I can’t say I’m a fan of of Jeepers Creepers, but if they did what you suggest that may be an idea to turn me around. Can you imagine how Killer Klowns would be in this day and age?One word..Psychotic!I’d love it.

Ghosted by Jason @ 09/01/2009 1:46 PM EDT

While we’re on the topic of horror…anyone see High Tension? That movie is gory as hell and extremely F***ed up.If you’re a horror fan,I highly reccomend it. :)

Ghosted by Jason @ 09/01/2009 1:50 PM EDT

I saw “Halloween III: Season of the Witch” for the first time last weekend. I couldn’t believe how much hate there was for this movie. I personally loved it. Sure it had nothing to do with Michael Myers, etc, etc. But as a standalone early 80’s cheesy horror flick, I couldn’t ask for better. Not to mention I still have that damn Silver Shamrock jingle stuck in my head. LOL

Ghosted by Andy @ 09/01/2009 1:57 PM EDT

Domo: Yeah, Imajica’s a good choice too, as well as The Hellbound Heart, and pretty much all the Books of Blood. I just love all his stuff. I don’t think The Stand is too cliche of a choice. It’s my fave of all of King’s stuff, for sure.

Jason: High Tension is great and really brutal, but it’s got a plot hole you can drive a car through, especially a car in a high speed chase in the woods. The big twist of it is actually completely impossible. I mean, if you think about it, the movie itself is impossible. It makes no sense!

Children should not use the internet without parental supervision.

Ghosted by Annette @ 09/01/2009 2:30 PM EDT

So Otis, if you’re going to be cool and post as Matt, you have to actually change the information in that little box where it says name.
Epic fail???

Ghosted by Domo @ 09/01/2009 2:36 PM EDT

:: Agrees with Annette ::

Ghosted by phunqsauce @ 09/01/2009 2:45 PM EDT

DJ D-That’s what is great about movies in general. They make the impossible possible. But they can’t make the implausible plausible. 2 more months ’til Halloween,Halloween,Halloween.2 more months ’til Halloween silver shamrocks. :)

Ghosted by Jason @ 09/01/2009 2:56 PM EDT

I LOVED, LOVED, LOVED High Tension right up to the twist ending, which totally tanked the whole effin movie for me. My favorite horror movie that’s come out lately would be Let the Right One In…sort of a new take on the vampire mythos and a brilliant, subtle film. Loved it.

for a straight up goofy fun horror movie, you gotta go with Drag Me To Hell. THE most fun I’ve had at a movie in a long while.

Ghosted by Trash @ 09/01/2009 3:01 PM EDT

Trash
I just rented Let the Right One In based on some comments in this post a few weeks ago, but i haven’t watched it yet. Now I’m looking forward to watching it even more, thanks!

Ghosted by Domo @ 09/01/2009 3:22 PM EDT

Dude, Let The Right One In and Martyrs are the two movies from last year that I’m looking forward to more than anything else. I don’t know why I’ve dragged my heels and haven’t seen them yet. They both look amazing.

As for High Tension, the fact that it was implausible was exactly its problem. By its own rules, there’s no way the movie itself could have even happened, especially the car chase. That’s just bad writing.

Drag Me To Hell might just be my favorite horror film of the year. Even though I haven’t seen every horror movie that’s yet to come out this year, I think I can safely go ahead and call it now.

can we at least the halloween juke box please?

So long urine-scented August.

Ghosted by Yoda Van Helsing @ 09/01/2009 4:05 PM EDT

The problem this time is you remembered to stick Matt’s name in the right place, but you forgot to link the X-E homepage in the website box. Kudos on making a commitment to get the jukebox up and possibly post – that should really get some people fired up when they can’t tell the difference between Matt and Faux Matt and expect these things to happen. C’mon, if you’re going to try and imitate the man, you can do better than these half-assed efforts you’re giving us!

Ghosted by Domo @ 09/01/2009 4:09 PM EDT

Just call me Capt.Obvious.Only one other possibility…it could be Matt. But that would be absurd.*Jason kicks himself*

Ghosted by Jason @ 09/01/2009 4:56 PM EDT

The urine aroma is already beginning to lift. Here comes September, to fill my house with apples and get those little degenerates off my street corner.

Teddy Ray, it was indeed a 1776 reference.

Frank Darabont + Stephen King = yes.

Also, holy personal information Batman! That just ain’t right.

Ahh! Pull it…

It;s starting to get cold outside finally!!! Even better, here in southern Ohio the leaves are just starting to turn! We’re hitting the homestretch of this year already!

Ghosted by drew do @ 09/01/2009 6:13 PM EDT

Wowsers.
Matt must feel either a: fully complete, just as, i guess, we should, about the site, and that everything cool has possibly been written about, and or b: is busy w/ real life sh!t. either way, i want everyone to know that i care much about hm and this kick ass site, and i’ll do every thing in my power to try to archive the hell out of this thing, so, in case the internet goes out on me, or i need the kick, … i could possibly fire up a disc and read some of the memories. i want the Halloween jukebox on though. Autumn is coming kids.

Barq sir, that was very rude and inconsiderate of you. Fortunately for Matt the info you posted looks outdated. That’s a South shore address and Matt’s posts in recent years often refer to him living near North shore stores. Remember the dude probably moved into finer digs as he built his X-E empire.

Ghosted by eloquint @ 09/01/2009 7:07 PM EDT

Stupid Silver Shamrock jingle stuck in my damn head at work!! Thanks Jason!!

Deej I did not know they were re-making Fright Night. That saddens me greatly! Your right though, Drag Me To Hell was a really good movie. And original too which is a rarity in Hollywood nowadays.

Anyway, it’s nice to see the regulars still around, hopefully I’ll be able to stop in more myself soon.

Ghosted by Dan @ 09/01/2009 7:15 PM EDT

Judging by the disappearing posts in the last hour, the last Matt post must be the real thing.

Welcome back Matt!

Ummm…I have been gone from here for so long.I check everyday but don’t really have time to read the thread…anyways, I spotted sierra mist cranberry splash today in northeastern ohio. I am so excited…

Ghosted by Leigha @ 09/01/2009 8:05 PM EDT

…and judging from the fact that that post is gone now too…

Ghosted by Tutsuro @ 09/01/2009 8:09 PM EDT

I hate coming late to the party! What posts disappeared? Did Matt finally make a comment on them and then remove his post…wait, that makes no sense….now my head hurts….

Damn it, I miss Surge…Vault just is not the same….

Ghosted by Trash @ 09/01/2009 8:16 PM EDT

Trash I believe the comment in question was “Matt” apologoizing for the absence, and saying he’d be bakc on the weekend. And who is Surge? Vault?

I find it interesting how this whole thing has evolved into some sort of cult of personality, where our trusty webmaster has evolved into some sort of enigmatic demi-god antihero, you know? I like to think hes one of those entertainers, who won’t do an encore unless the crowds loud enough. Yeah, and the 1000+ posts back in the winter time spoiled him, so the 100+ back in spring wasn’t good enough.

But you know what? That doesn’t make any sense. He’s just another person.
But I have to applaud him for dealing with all this. I would’ve jumped ship long ago if I were him.

In any case though, now and always a fan of X-E.

Ghosted by Tutsuro @ 09/01/2009 8:56 PM EDT

So Matt made about about that he’s coming back this weekend?

I knew he’d come back for Halloween.
