WOW. I never knew people cared so much about one website. However, I feel that I’m at a point in my life where I can’t continue on with this. I mean, it’s silly, most of this stuff only resonates with me because I just don’t know what I want out of life, so I observe the little things, sort of like a ghetto Sherlock Holmes with a blog.
But there’s no fire here anymore guys, and while I do appreciate your concern and all the great times we’ve shared since Xenu-knows-when, my heart is just not in this and no amount of coaxing can change that. Believe me, I’ve tried. I guess it’s true about what they say, you can’t go home again.
I’ve made some arrangements with UGO, to keep this site up for another couple of months so that you can grab anything you want, but come August, this site will be gone forever.
If you want to create another community and tie it in with the X-E name, I encourage you. Fuck, maybe even I’ll join when it goes online.
It’s been a long trip, with ups and downs, but now it’s ended.

Gee, it seems a bit strange that if you were the real Matt you would put that in the comment section where a lot fewer people would see it and not make it a new blog post announcing it to the world. People here are not morons, and can easily see through that kind of troll crap.

Well, I don’t have much to say. The spring hath sprung in my region, and we finally have beautiful weather. I also graduated from high school, and I spent all last night at a post-grad party (I do have a point). Anyway, I gorged on free Blizzards and dicussed logical quandries for most of the night. But the highlight of the event is that everyone gets a nice gift for college. The names were drawn raffle style, and I wound up with a tupperware, a sandwich maker, and a DISCO BALL. I am a very happy person. Okay, I’ll stop.

Since we now have two relatively convincing “Matts”, is this going to wind up like one of those movies where two identical looking people (or clones, or robots) point at each other and say “Shoot him!”?

@ArthurCluck I’m a longtime reader but don’t post often. Definitely missing X-E and hope (the real!) Matt is alive and well and planning on at worst a farewell and at best some updates.
Writing doesn’t pay my bills just yet but it’s one of my ruling passions and I’d love to do some articles if you get it up and running.

Ah, SNT. I’ll be damned. It is the evening. Feels more like autumn in my mind, even with the heat and humidity.
I spent the day at work from 6am-3pm, then came home, popped in EA Sports Active for the first time, packed up my damaged Zodac figure from the new Masters of the Universe Classics line, left the Wii on to play a few levels of Lit and am now considering whether I’d rather start watching There Will Be Blood or Leonard Cohen: Live in London.
Oh, here’s some news, I’ve got married two weeks ago yesterday! We spent a week in Orlando hopping around the Disney parks. The Magic Kingdom lost a lot of the magic that I remembered from 25 years ago, but Epcot was fantastic.
Hmm. My wife is at work until 9 tonight. Maybe I should use that time to finish this season of Supernatural. I only have the season finale to go. Then it’s on to finishing Reaper and Pushing Daisies.
I would be willing to contribute a little something to a joint bloggity thing if someone were to get one going. I’m not much of a techie but I think using Wordpress would be an easy way to do something like that. Pretty sure you can set WP blogs up to let multiple people with WP accounts post.
Anyway, enough about that. I’m in a summery mood for once; I really wish there was some way that I could throw a party and grill some hot dogs or some shit. Maybe I should have people over for July 4th or something this year.
sorry about getting mad before…It just makes me sad to think of X-E being over…I’ve met some cool people here, and I can let my inner geek out and not get made fun of…I’ve never truly belonged anywhere, but here I fit in and chill out. I can contribute too if there is a site in the works….my forte’is finding really bizzare video clips of pop culture icons, and obscure movies and of course like everyone else…toys of our youth.

Congrats on the nuptuals, Mystery D8! Sounds like a fun, stress free honeymoon. I can’t believe we will be celebrating our 12 year wedding anniversary this June 14. I feel so old! Most of my “mommy friends” (read: responsible, serious and smelling of GermX and fabric softener) didn’t get married until they were in their theirties, so they’re all in their forties (and Matt thought 30 was scary), so I’m the youngster at 34. Gives me an excuse to wear Fruit Loops t-shirts and spout off obscure movie quotes all the time. Heh.
As if you all (y’all?) can’t tell, my face doesn’t feel like it’s going to pry itself off of my skull at this time (knocking on wood). I really think the rosemary worked, 80’s mom. Senor Traj brought home a live plant from Price Chopper and we broke off some pieces and boiled them on the stove. I didn’t try th vaporizor b/c we were afraid it would get inside the motor or filter or something and then get all moldy or something. Thanks again!

I know how you feel, mandy_Reeves. I have no other friends who feel nostalgic for anything from their “yutes” like we do. Never mind people (especially females) who like horror and sci fi in any form. When I mention anything outside of “House” or “Celebrity Apprentice” to anyone and the ‘wierdo’ gears in their heads start spinning. You’d think I’d proclaimed my allegience to Michael Jackson’s chimpanzee or something.

MysteryD8 Congrats on getting hitched! Disneyland is the best honeymoon if you have the money to really go all out. I have been thinking about weddings lately and I think I would go to hawaii (gay marriage is legal there) but Disneyland is pretty good too.

Very well said. That is one of the reasons why I love this place… we can be comfortable being who we are here. It’s like a support group sometimes because we share similar stories about things that just happened or happened years ago and we can feel we are not alone in those experiences.
Matt’s blog posts and articles are just a piece of it. He gets the ball rolling and we continue with it. I think that is why it’s so frustrating and upsetting when people act like he is here to entertain us and how dare he not write entertaining articles like he used to.

While I find it hard to believe it’s Matt, it’s even harder to believe that he can’t take time out of his day to give us any real messages or wordings; nobody is that busy — unless they’re in prison.
So my goal is not to replace X-E or Matt. I simply want to keep the summer mega party rolling in his honor. In fact, as soon as he comes back, I would stop with great joy. Some of you have said you would be willing to contribute. Email me so I can get real names and a list going. Even if I have to set up Wordpress or something like that, I will be happy to coordinate it. The trick is getting the support of all of the fans on here. Without the people on here, I would be just an angry man shouting at the sea. You know, full of sound and fury and signifying nothing. I really wish some techie would set us up a nice shell of site and manage it for us, but I’ll look into Wordpress. Again, I only want to do this with the X-E community’s blessings. I’m not trying to be hack or an immitator. Now I know why Nightwing found it so hard to step up and replace Batman!
