tanta07- What about the hundreds of Jedi that werent children who were in the temple? I understand cutting away during the slaughter of the kids, but what about the rest of it?

Oh, yeah, a “Anakin versus hundreds of Jedi” duel would have been kickass. Sorry, I thought you meant only the kids part.
Personally, I felt Revenge of the Sith was rather long as it was, taking too long to get to the “Anakin versus Obi Wan” money shot. Adding yet another lightsaber duel to the mix might have put it over the top. I would gladly substitute the “Anakin versus hundreds of Jedi” scene for all the awkward Anakin and Padme love scenes, though.

I will tell you why they left all of that out Chris… PG-13. Simple as that Lucas didn’t want to limit his audience too much. Especially since the rest were PG.

I know the hometown wasn’t flooded, lots of pollen, but not flooded. Where’d ya go Matt?

Episode 3 really could have done without a full on shot of Anakin impregnating Padme. Though Padme’s “let’s ignite that lightsaber” line was pretty hot.
Hey guys, I just came across something totally awesome and I wanted to share it with you.
It’s a Ravage from Transformers USB drive. It’s only pre-order right now, and sold out, and doesn’t ship until September, which all sucks, but hopefully it’ll open back up for pre-ordering soon.
I fear that there will be no ‘09 Summer Mega Party. I loved last summer when Matt posted late each night. I yearn for more stories about the Shore.

I actually LOVE Return of the Jedi…the whole Han/Leia stuff, Luke’s huge reveal to Leia, C-3P0 as a “God”, the Luke/Vader showdown, Lando redeeming himself, and love the big, happy, dancing-in-the-woods party at the end!

I have something I’d like to share with the thread. Many of you have already seen it, but it’s relevant to the Star Trek discussion. Nominally so, perhaps. But this is my nomination for the second worst music video of all time- http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XC73PHdQX04&feature=related

I am not that frequent of a poster to this site but I have followed it for years. I am worried that come June 1, there won’t be a summer spectacular mega party bash all-encompassing web site festival. I’m saving my trip to get Otter Pops and those little round seedless watermelons for the commencement of the festivities. I just hope they are around the corner.

Here’s a cool little contest which comes to us by way of the current mecca for social networking, Facebook. Evil mastermind J.J. Abrams slyly inserted an R2-D2 cameo into his highly successful “Star Trek” reboot. And Paramount is challenging you fans to find him. The prize? A highly coveted official “Star Trek” prop. There’s really not much more to tell you. The rules are pretty simple. Locate R2, write down where you saw him in an e-mail, and shoot it off to facebook@paramount.com with “STAR TREK Easter Egg Sweepstakes” in the subject line. I couldn’t care less about winning the prop, but it would warm this “Star Wars” geek’s heart to see the plucky little droid pop up in a “Star Trek” movie. Maybe J.J. will figure out a way to kill off Jar Jar for his second “Trek” go-round.
Man is it just me that feels even MORE strangely addicted to coming here more often just to be there when the new post comes and the frenzy THAT will result in?! Im amused by the naysayer anihilists and their little impatient blowups about the END OF DAYS for X-E dundunduuuuh!!! Although I do have some nagging questions of my own… Is Matt able to still play board games with his family? Did he find anymore dildos in the 99cent store? Will grey cat ever be accepted into the other cat’s hearts? WHO KNOWS? Not me folks…not me. Anyways lets keep this big bottom tanker of a post going!! Lets take it all the way. Bring on all the filler posts like ” Chips and Salsa are yummy”!!! Cuz we are gonna partay like it’s post 1999!!!! MEGA partay!

I kinda feel that this is some sort of sick prank by Matt to see how much we need him.
Thumbs up to you Matt. I’m gonna miss the summer bash, but I hope you come back for Halloween.

How about a sad blow to our childhood to start the day?
Wayne Allwine, the voice of Mickey Mouse since 1977, passed away on Monday at the age of 62. He was OUR generation’s Mickey. That was Mr. Allwine in Mickey’s Christmas Carol, Who Framed Roger Rabbit, House of Mouse, in all those Disney theme park shows/attractions, etc, etc.

Plantmonster: At least what you posted is kinda catchy in a cheesy way. There is no redeeming quality for this:
Wayne Allwine died!? Thats awful! My dad was friends with the guy back in the mid-90’s! Wonder if he knows about this.
His wife, Russi Taylor (Minnie, Ralph on The Simpsons) must be heartbroken.
Closing in on 1100 comments on this thing. I don’t want to get ahead of myself or anything, but I’m wondering if this might just be the first ever 2,000 comment post. Wouldn’t it be something if we managed to pull it off, and that’s exactly what Matt’s waiting for before he starts the Megaparty? Sometime next month, Comment 2,000 hits, and later that day, Megaparty starts. What a way to start the summer (Although in my neck of the woods, summer weather has practically already started).
Woooooo! I get to watch the Blue Angels fly over my office building today because of the Naval Academy’s commencement excersizes. Screw getting any work done, I am going to plop myself in front of my office window!
One year in college in San Francisco- it must have been 1999 because I was in the Van Ness building- the Blue Angels were practicing for Fleet Week, and I spent an hour with my head out the window watching them spiral and barrel roll and those straight-up dead drops…
DJ D, don’t forget the Photog thread. That has over 3,000 comments! And people are still posting on it! That thread is 6 years old and someone posted on it just a couple of weeks ago!

Hoverbored:People are posting on a thread that old!? Amazing!
And maybe, just maybe, George Lucas will make a half decent film.

ULTRAMAN, it’s true!
Ghosted by Hoverbored @ 05/20/2009 11:56 PM EDT
Fuck off, Chris.
THX-1138, American Graffiti, A New Hope, Empire Strikes Back, Return of the Jedi (you said “make”, not “direct”, Willow (yes, it was half decent), Phantom Menace (again half decent, though I like it a bit more than that), Attack of the Clones, Revenge of the Sith, the Indiana Jones movies, Young Indy (telefilms). See? So fuck off.
George Lucas did indeed make some “half decent” films, but he seems content to keep editing them into oblivion.
Also he didn’t really “make” the Indiana Jones films. He only helped write them. He didn’t even write the screenplays. Other people wrote the screenplays and Spielberg directed them.
Then again, I guess you could make the same argument for Empire and Jedi, since he didn’t direct or write the screenplays for those either.
George Lucas is a good idea man, but not a good filmmaker.
I was talking about everything after Indiana Jones, when George Lucas seemingly traded in all of his talent for a computer.

I have to agree with the Anakim temple scene being a waste. We heard through all the movies how Anakin was a super Jedi and did all this damage, but they barely show any of it. That little holo video is ridiculous. They didn’t have to show him actually killing people, but we barely see any of his “awesome Jedi Power” he allegedly possessed. We do get to see him cry, and whine, and have terribly stilted romantic conversations with on a balcony with Padme whos head looks like it’s 7 sizes to big for her body.
In other words, there was so much wasted potential in Sith.
After TPM, I knew we were in for a shit storm of good ideas, but bad movies.
In other news, the new Transformers flick looks like it’s going to have 2, count ‘em, 2 of their own Jar Jars!!!
To that I say, fuck you Spielberg and Bay!
