I have loved this site since I came across it whilst studying for my degree in Uni.. I did teaching training which means hours of sitting in a room doing preperation for lessons…. anyway
I was searching google for boy and his blob – and read one of your articles… this was 3 years ago!
Now I check your site every day or so, and just get a kick from your old reviews of stuff I used to love (mighty max, star wars, gremlins, she-ra, you name it!)via the archives.
I am glad you are still about, but I am sure it would take a man a long time to read all your archived stuff – so maybe some time away from posting every day would do us all a lotta good!
anyway… what I am trying to say from my beer/long day fueled post is…
cheers
Love the archives!

Whoo! A real SNT thread! How’s this Saturday been treating everybody? I spent most of the day working on my model trains…I don’t think I ordered enough track!
Oh, there is a Star Wars Marathon on Spike that I’ve been watching. Great to have on in the background…

I’m visiting my parents for spring break (spring break seems slightly more boring now that I’m a teacher…). On Monday, I go back to school. This is my last night that I can stay up late without having to worry about being zonked the next day, although that isn’t entirely true because I’ll be leaving for Mass at eight tomorrow morning and driving back home in the afternoon. Anywho, I’m sitting around at my parents’ house, drinking beer, and surfing the internet. An SNT sounds like a good way to kill a few hours. Do we have a topic?

Priceless, Matt. I hope the kids don’t get all cranky. Lol!
Ultraman, I’m in a really good mood tonight too. No real reason here, anything particularly spectacular going on with you to cause the good mood?

Went to Target today and got the new Pepsi and Mountain Dew Throwbacks but haven’t drank them yet. Also bought my mom’s gift for Mother’s Day next month.
Had lunch at Red Robin, the best hamburger restaurant EVER!
Went to FYE and bought the Watchmen soundtrack. Went to Barnes and Noble and bought Mick Foley’s “Hardcore Diaries” book. Bought fudge at Scheels.
Came home and watched “Vince Vaugn’s Wild West Comedy Show” on Starz. Pretty good.
Watched an episode of the 80s Twilight Zone that had a Joe Montegna and the girl who was Winnie from “Wonder Years” in it.
Just got done watching “Grey Gardens” on HBO. Also pretty good.

Sounds like life is getting in the way far too often lately. Hang in there, Matt! Before you know it, you’ll have plenty of time to analyze the new cherry dr. pepper and the other pieces of pop culture jetsam and flotsam that washes into the beaches of your mind. Am I drunk? I don’t think so…
Just got back from Target. Went on a hunt looking for Pepsi Throwback. It wasn’t there and the two employees I talked to didn’t have a clue what I was talking about. I DID snag a bottle of Dr. Pepper Cherry though and it’s not that bad. I’m a Dr. Pepper fiend and am usually against any variation on the regular formula, but I can hang with this. I don’t think it’ll be a regular thing, but the occasional bottle (or preferably can) wouldn’t be too bad.
Then I went to Food Lion to get some groceries, and what do I find?…Pepsi Throwback! So if you guys can’t find it at Target and you have a Food Lion in your area, check there, cause they have it in bottles and cans. It’s in the fridge now and I’ll report my thoughts later when I get round to drinking it. I’m still nursing my Dr. Pepper Cherry at the moment.
Matt’s still alive! Happy SNT all! Anyone else enjoying some pizza, beer and AC/DC?

hey! SNT!
I have spent the past few days preparing for an unexpected move that will happen within a couple weeks But I found a place, with a yard. And a washer and dryer. Weird how excited I am about those little things. Cross your fingers that I get the place!
drbong: The plan is you disguise yourself as a pretty girl in need of help to distract the guards, then I slip in the back, disable the security cams, and get the goods.
Karen: A video game I ordered online finally came in yesterday. It’s one that I’ve wanted for while. I’m havin an ABSOLUTE BLAST playin it.

Boots
I believe Matt actually does this type of stuff for a living (after a fashion). He’s worked for Nick Studios and Toyfare magazine so if dabbling with Congo action figures can help him come up with the next Avatar or Sponge Bob I’m all for it. Anyway we don’t pay for X-E so what’s all the hub-bub about anyway. Allow him his life and when the time is right for him we’ll get more and it’ll be good because it won’t be forced, it’ll be from the heart.

Anybody else played “World of Goo”? They had it at Target last night for just $14.99 so I went ahead and got it. Neat game. No epic story line, just building little structures out of balls of goo to help them get places. Kind of like “Lemmings” with oil slicks.

My wife has the idea of creating a video blog in the same vein as ZeFrank and iJustine. So she begged and pleaded for me to buy her a camcorder…
That’s how it all started.
I have so far bought:
$300 worth in studio lighting
$600 HD camcorder
$250 microphone
/sigh

Jhawkzz- TY!
I usually never speak up about being annoyed here, but I am making an exception here.
To everyone who pesters about matt quitting the site: Booooooring! HOW DOES ONE QUIT A WEBSITE??? It’s gonna be here, updated or not. I get sickly excited about new posts here, and always hope that there won’t be that one or two people that ruin the positive attitude here.
I don’t think X-E has run its course just yet. I think the old girl still has some life in her. Even if Matt reduces the article output to just once a month, there’s still plenty in the archives to keep me entertained. It wouldn’t be quite the be same as the glory days of front page articles and stuff, but I think the conversation alone makes it worth it to show up, especially if Matt chimes in from time to time to kind of keep us going. Not that we absolutely need that–it’s just nice to know he’s checking in here and there and that he cares.
Yoda Van Helsing: Food Lion’s actually one of the cheapest grocery stores around here. I prefer going to Bi-Lo, but Food Lion usually has better prices. Depends on who’s running a sale that week. I went on a good night tonight cause FL had a ton of stuff on sale that I just happened to be shopping for anyway.
kb: Good luck with that. Keep us updated on the progress. My dad called me tonight and told me that he found out today that he got the house and piece of land he’s been eyeing for a while, so good for him. Now he can get out and knock golf balls around the acre of front yard he’s going to have. I can’t wait for the after-move-in cookout.
JHawkZZ: I’m not, but that does sound like a pretty good time. I’m mostly just cooking a very late dinner and getting caught up on some TV watching and online stuff. Probably going to watch the SNL Best of Amy Pohler thing, even though I’ve seen all the skits they’re showing before. I really like her and wish the best for her new show but I have my doubts about it. It’s kind of funny, but she kind of just comes off like a female Michael Scott. I know it’s by the same people, but the whole thing just comes off like an Office ripoff, but without the interesting and fun characters. We’ll see.
And for the record, AC/DC makes just about everything better.
Ha, most of us have aged with Matt; he’s still young enough and sexy enough for me. In that website I go to kind of way, of course.
Janice is my favorite muppet. “Look Mother, it’s my life okay? So if I want to live on the beach and walk around naked…” That’s if Grover doesn’t count, and I don’t think he should.
