Seeing as everyone seems to be sharing random experiences, I want to share mine and see if anyone else has had this... about seven years ago I won a ruler in a christmas cracker that was (strangely) shaped like a bright green seahorse. Even stranger, to this day it smells like mint sauce. Confuses the hell out of me. Anyone else had this? <3 x

Speaking of awesome cartoons, Exo-Squad is now out on DVD. I wrote about it in my blog.

Should I buy the 2002 MOTU slime pit? Will it fit in with my MOTUC figures?! Anyone know?

When I was growing up, the Ice Cream man wasn't just an Ice Cream Man. He was a taxi, too! I saw a lot of kids do this on my block - they'd buy an ice cream of some kind and then say "If I give you three more dollars, will you let me ride with you up to the corner market?" and the gritty old man in the truck would usually say "Sure thing, kid!".

At that age I didn't know for sure if this was a bad thing to do. One time a kid asked for a trip to the video store, and offered 5 bucks. The video store was a little far even by car, so this was a rather epic journey for any of us at that age. The driver said "No, I don't think I can do it." but the kid kept pressing "Come on! Six dollars?". But the driver shook his head, which made the kid yell "YOU WON'T TAKE SIX DOLLARS TO DRIVE ME TO THE VIDEO STORE?!". The driver said "FINE! Get in!".

The boy's mother must have heard from an open window, because she came running out of his house screaming for him "STOP! JEFFREY, STOP!".

I figured this was probably my indication that riding with the Ice Cream man was indeed a bad thing to do - but when the kid's mom caught him she said "You left the rental on the living room table! You can't return it if you forget it!" and handed him a cassette.

All this seemed only mildly strange to me back then - it's funny that pondering over it now makes me realize instantaneously that just about everyone involved in the situation was as wrong as humanly possible without question, including me for standing there thinking that kid was cool.

Another oddity is that there were TWO cars sitting in the driveway of the video store kid's house. Why wouldn't his mother just drive him over there? Or go herself? Or choose ANY OTHER OPTION that wouldn't involve her only son getting an Astro-Pop forcibly inserted into him.

I really loved my childhood. I have so many great memories. And thankfully my memory is terrifyingly vivid so I can relive them all any time I want.

Wow. You know, I never realized how peaceful the discussions around here usually are until I read this page of comments. I don't believe I've ever witnessed this much hostility on the site before... and I've been visiting for a very long time.

Anyway, you aren't crazy. The ice cream trucks are out and about. The old lady heard one coming down our street the other day. I want my Choco-Taco! Last year they didn't have 'em. Bastards.
