Monster Rap.

Hello!

I was going to post this as a comment, but considering that the last thread is nearing 1000 comments (all positive) and takes about seventeen minutes to load, we may as well start anew.

I'm alive and unchanged. Seriously, I've just been working. A lot. It's been a less-than-ideal grind and I very much look forward to the current wave passing so I can get back to doing what I love to do best: Nothing, with a side of you.

Some of you have expressed interest in an early return for the Halloween Juke. I couldn't agree more and will try to include this soon as a partial mea culpa. I've been listening to that shit constantly, though I don't know if it has as much to do with me wanting Halloween as it does the fact that Geico's "Somebody's Watching Me" commercial airs 772 times each hour.

Also, there was an a site in circulation that evidently attempted to redirect users to a bad place. I cannot lie: I thought you guys were mistaken, but you were right, and the ad guys at UGO (and me) really, sincerely apologize for any trouble it caused. It's been eradicated and you should have no further trouble.

I finally watched that Clone Wars movie. Now, I was as hard on the prequels as anyone, but despite what seemed to be common opinion, I really didn't think it was bad at all. Granted, I fell asleep halfway through, but I'm assuming it grew no more offensive from there. Plus, the first reveal of Jabba's son, suddenly crawling out and goo-goo gah-ing with absolutely no build or fanfare, cracked me up so much that I had to rewind the scene seven times before watching the rest of (or the rest of the first half of) the movie.

Very odd to hear an ice cream truck's jingle playing during a thunderstorm in early April, but I swear, I just did.

Glad to see you are back, I was starting to worry that this place would just mysteriously vanish one day :-(

Ice cream truck in early April, during a thunderstorm, is rather eerie. Was it the Mister Softee truck? They have the best ice cream, although that song can be annoying at times. Although Mister Softee is much better than Good Humor, unfortunately during my childhood, most of the ice cream trucks sold the Good Humor pre made crap..

I am mixed on the Star Wars live action. We’ll see, I will be sorely disappointed if all the signs so far are correct and it is ALL about Boba Fett. Overrated. I hope it is more like the Tales from the Cantina and Tales of the Bounty Hunter books.

Hey just FYI, I just came to the site and it tried to redirect me (My Google Chrome warned of “MALWARE!” and I said “BACK TO SAFETY!”) but the address in my bar said welovesandi.com or something.

Just thought I’d let ya know…

According to what ive read, its not all about boba at all, I think hes going to make an appearence, but so too is galen marek and other characters. Eventually lucasfilm want to have different live action star wars series running at the same time focusing on completely different characters which eventually will tie in to one story. and what is wrong with boba? hes badass!

Okay, and I’m on Twitter :-)

Haha, sadly, about the Twitter thing — people have been pestering me to get on there, and finally I did; although I’m not too sure what the fascination with it all is… yet?

And yay for Matt being back, the comment about his Clone Wars escapade certainly made me laugh; I went to see in the cinema with a few friends and the other half and all the way through I could hear the guys laughing at how poorly Obi-Wan was done. Although I did immaturely giggle at the outer-rim dialogues.
At first, I couldn’t stand Ahsoka, her whole calling R2-D2 ‘Artooie’ pissed me right off.
But now, after watching the series, and being completely addicted to it, I might add; I completely love her character, although my boyfriend seems to think it funny to make fun of my fandom and say she’s going to die in the next episode (whenever it may come on).
Plus, who can not love Aurra Sing in that last episode; c’mon, she kicks ass :]

I have watched none of the Star Wars prequels, and I still maintain that my life is better for it.

Chestnuts roasted by Mystie @ 04/06/2009 5:52 PM

Cricket Same here, they stop for perhaps 30 seconds if at all. I live on the third floor and short of jumping out of the window I wouldn’t make it in time.
I totally feel your pain.

It’d be cool to have the Halloween juke around earlier, although I think right now would be too early.
(Yeah, this comes from me who just shoved all of my Halloween deco onto a shelf in November. I see the stuff everyday and I am thinking it would be easier to make it a permanent fixture of my interior design, but then I’d probably get tired of it soon.)

Chestnuts roasted by Kapprika @ 04/06/2009 5:52 PM

Mystie, you do not need the Star Wars prequels, your life is better without having wasted it on the prequels.

Chestnuts roasted by Tresjolie9 @ 04/06/2009 5:56 PM

You’re probably right there Mystie although I kinda liked Episode 2 (because I’m a huge Clone fan) and Episode 3 (what’s better than a cool lightsaber duel and Obi-Wan winning?)

:]

Misty, hear hear!

Chestnuts roasted by meepy @ 04/06/2009 5:58 PM

Oh gosh, now I feel like the most worthless person here for slightly liking them.

>_<;

Welcome back Matt.

Anyway, I just got done watching another “Monsters” marathon on Chiller (tomorrow they’re having a Freddy’s Nightmares one) and I have to tell you about one particular episode. It was called “Bed and Boar” and starred Steve Buscemi. It’s about a witch who turns rich men into some human/pig hybrid (imagine a really ugly looking Captain Link Hogform) and kills them for their money. It was cheesy (like almost all of the episodes) and AWESOME at the same time.

Chestnuts roasted by KING JLA @ 04/06/2009 6:02 PM

Mystie, I wish I had never wasted my time with the prequels.

I haven’t seen any of this new Clone Wars stuff and I don’t want to. George Lucas has gotten enough of my time and money over the years. I still love the old Star Wars movies but for the most part, I’ve moved on to other things. Like giant robots.

Here, you can hear raspa trucks past ten o’clock at night. We have snow cone trucks instead of ice
cream trucks. They sell raspa (snow cones), Frito
pies, and Mexican stuff. The Frito Pies are great.

WELCOME BACK MATT! I don’t know if you’ve heard of it, but there is a product on store shelves everywhere called Sierra Mist Ruby Splash. Sierra with grapefruit. I don’t think too much of it. (Hint- REVIEW! NOW!)

As a relative newbie to this site, I have never heard the Summer Jukebox. But now I want to. But I also want to hear all of the EXCELLENT SOUNDS of the Halloween jukebox. So I have the following proposal- we put all of the songs in one jukebox, and call it KICKASS!

I’m done.

Man, I was wondering about the month thing as well.

My son has mentioned in the past that he would like to be an ice cream truck driver, and go him! But then, I will not be able to live off his wealth I suppose.

Dunno why, but lately I have been craving some XE more than usual. I think I may have to revisit all the old articles to get my fix :)

Chestnuts roasted by kb @ 04/06/2009 6:51 PM

I’ve been coming to this site for a very long time off and on, probably since the beginning. I can remember coming here in 2000/2001 while I was still at my original university. Two universities later, and I still come here to lurk and enjoy Matt’s take on everything from expired Kool-Aide to the now infamous Advent Calendar.

Anyhow, just glad to see you’re back Matt. I think we all understand how life just gets busy and you have to cut certain things out to make room for higher priorities. The past two semesters I’ve been 12 to 13 credit hours at school while maintaining my 40+ hour a week job. I know all about being busy. Take your time, we’ll still be here when you’re less busy!

The return of the Mr. Softee truck is a wonderful time of year.

The prequels are fine. I agree with George Lucas when he said the people who get mad are the people who don’t take them for what they are, children’s movies. Episode 3 is the best of them and, in my opinion, even better then Jedi. Empire is still the best by far though. I am all about the continuation of Star Wars. I feel better knowing future generations will continue to be into it. It is a childhood necessity.

Chestnuts roasted by drew do @ 04/06/2009 7:39 PM

Thank you drew do, you’ve made me happy now knowing that I’m not the only one who like them, even if slightly.

And what’s Pissed‘s problem, eh? O_o

Chestnuts roasted by Beann @ 04/06/2009 7:46 PM

I honestly like the SW prequels. They’re not as good as the original trilogy of course, but I still like them alot. The main purpose they serve is showing you how all the characters and events in the original trilogy came to be.
I could really go for some ice cream right now. All this talk about it has made me hungry.
