Hello!

I was going to post this as a comment, but considering that the last thread is nearing 1000 comments (all positive) and takes about seventeen minutes to load, we may as well start anew.

I'm alive and unchanged. Seriously, I've just been working. A lot. It's been a less-than-ideal grind and I very much look forward to the current wave passing so I can get back to doing what I love to do best: Nothing, with a side of you.

Some of you have expressed interest in an early return for the Halloween Juke. I couldn't agree more and will try to include this soon as a partial mea culpa. I've been listening to that shit constantly, though I don't know if it has as much to do with me wanting Halloween as it does the fact that Geico's "Somebody's Watching Me" commercial airs 772 times each hour.

Also, there was an a site in circulation that evidently attempted to redirect users to a bad place. I cannot lie: I thought you guys were mistaken, but you were right, and the ad guys at UGO (and me) really, sincerely apologize for any trouble it caused. It's been eradicated and you should have no further trouble.

I finally watched that Clone Wars movie. Now, I was as hard on the prequels as anyone, but despite what seemed to be common opinion, I really didn't think it was bad at all. Granted, I fell asleep halfway through, but I'm assuming it grew no more offensive from there. Plus, the first reveal of Jabba's son, suddenly crawling out and goo-goo gah-ing with absolutely no build or fanfare, cracked me up so much that I had to rewind the scene seven times before watching the rest of (or the rest of the first half of) the movie.

Very odd to hear an ice cream truck's jingle playing during a thunderstorm in early April, but I swear, I just did.

Just another night on the bottle, strummin’ the guitar while Fright Night makes for background noise. SNT indeed.

Is it bad when one of the prominent joys of the day is seeing this picture of a lady getting mauled by a polar bear when she jumped in their moat at the zoo?

WHY would you jump in with Polar Bears?

ATM I’m at the hubby-to-be’s and laying in bed with my laptop as he’s screaming obscenities at the PS3 and throwing his controller. Soul Cal. We’re supposed to go out to the diner with his one friend (I have yet to meet any of his friends) but I think he’s too busy being a furfag.

Also, his mom is sick and not making Easter dinner afterall so I really came up here for pretty much nothing. Totally heading back to my house tomorrow for dinner, so I gotta call my mom and tell her to make extra Grands.

Ten Commandments = Epic

Especially the very end where Moses has that HUGE beard. And I never realized just how many times people yelled MOSES!!! not to mention that one chick constantly screaming JOSHUA!!!! Pretty awesome!

hey guys.. – just a reminder.. don’t sleep on the release of the seventh season of the ’87 TMNT next month.. – it’s the season where they have the “Euro roadtrip”.. – nothing like a bunch of pizza-eating turtles running with the bulls in Spain, visiting the Leaning Tall of Pisa, etc.

wow bloodmyre, way to make no point whatsoever in your moronic retorts. Look, you must be a liar, you have no concept of people believeing you so you probably don’t understand, what I mean. At least make a point as to why instead of just going blah blah nickelodian blah blah blah. I can argue that gravity doesnt’t exist. It does tho, and me being a moron and saying it doesn’t just makes me look like an ass. As have you. Grow up and put some sort of context in your reasoning rather that just being a douche. Fill me with your hate I guess board it makes me stronger!!! I gave you my reason, he never explained why he broke his word, I’ve came here from day 1. Literally, I followed from Wrestling Uncensored and have been quiet as to the Boards bitchiness.

Point is, most of you can’t even make a point. Alot of you can, and I enjoy most of the posters here. I enjoy talkin bout damn near everything mentioned. That doesnt’t change my VALID POINT. DO WHAT YOU SAY OR DON”T SAY IT. I’m not on the where the fudge is the AC tip either. It’s over, move on. Talk to people here or don’t.

Pretentious, Pompous suck ups are the worst tho. Grow a pair, and when someone wrongs you stand up for yourselves.

Chestnuts roasted by owen hart @ 04/12/2009 1:35 AM

Hey there, owen hart, I’m the most pompous, arrogant person you’ll ever cross paths with, and I’ve not only got a pair, but a question for you as well:

Did you ever take it into account that some of us “suck ups” don’t take the lack of updates as a personal insult?

Sure, your point is valid. Absolutely. You feel wronged because plans were not fulfilled. I get that.

I love this site. Not just for the articles, but for the people here in the threads. Most of them are here just to have a good time, like myself. It’s a great place to kill a few of those minutes I’ve gotten back since giving up cigarettes.

But you’re right, I have been wronged, and I’m standing up for myself. I have been wronged by all the whiny, self absorbed, spoiled, moaning children that have taken over the threads. Even when Matt does take the time to update, it’s never enough, because some spoiled brat starts whining about the Advent Calendar, and the crapfest kicks up again.

So you guys have been wronged. Big deal. If you haven’t figured out that life is full of disappointments by now, I envy you. You obviously have lived a very happy and pampered life up until this point.

No matter how much fun X-E can be, it’s still a website. There is a line between fandom and obsession. If your day cannot be complete unless Matt updates, then you need to grow up, move out of your parents’ basement, and get a life.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love more updates too. But if they don’t happen, life continues. I hear that if you actually open your front door, and go outside, there are an almost limitless number of things that you can do to pass your abundance of excess time. I hear rumors that some of them are even fun.

No matter how many times you try to shove it down our throats, Matt doesn’t owe you a single thing. Why? Because apart from your parents, nobody on this entire planet owes you one damned thing. It’s part of the human experience, deal with it.

Last time I checked, shit happens. He didn’t swear on a Bible, nor did he take a blood oath, so as far as Matt “breaking his word,” lay off the steroids and turn down the machismo a bit. An ending to a story, in the grand scheme of things, just isn’t that important. Being a man and keeping your word is great, but being a gentleman is even more important. You, sir, have not conducted yourself as such in your arguments. I recommend theartofmanliness.com, which is certainly helping me in my own quest.

So go ahead and call me a suck up. I don’t care, because I’d much rather pass my time talking about pleasant things like pokemon, TMNT, and other fun stuff than to cry, moan, whine, and try to make everyone else as miserable as I am. Your holier-than-thou attitude is not helping.

owen hart, your point was quite valid, and I think mine is as well.

To my friends here, you know who you are, I apologize for this rant. Chalk it up to lack of nicotine and a short fuse. I will try to be back to my normal fun-loving self later.

Chestnuts roasted by Capt. Will @ 04/12/2009 4:48 AM

Cap.Will: I think you make a very valid point. owen hart, you are entitled to your opinion just like any of us. But you have to understand that alot of us just don’t agree with you. I don’t feel “wronged” as you put it, because Matt didn’t keep his word. I believe him when he says he’s busy. And even if he’s not, and he’s just loafing around, so what? I’m not a suck up because I have a laid back attitude. Lets all try to get along shall we? :)

Happy Easter Everyone! Is anyone doing anything nice/interesting for it?

i plan on lazing arround and trying to get all achievements on my xbox 360 download of double dragon.

Chestnuts roasted by ory_bloodmyre @ 04/12/2009 7:21 AM

I wouldn’t say star wars is geeky. Sure it isn’t an everyday thing like it was in the late 70′s/early 80′s, but I think if you love the movies and tv shows your in the geeky clear. It’s when you dive into the comics and books that you start to get Into geeky territory. As for Star Trek, that has geek all over it. Five tv series, ten plus films, only a geek could keep up with that.
Quote Lando at work and receive smiles, quote Spock and be prepared to be the office geek.

Chestnuts roasted by barry @ 04/12/2009 7:24 AM

Well I think the books and comics are cool, they add a far greater depth to the films, and it shows that life wasnt happy and all “la-de-da” before the Phantom Menace, and wasn’t after Return of the Jedi.

If i’m a geek, I dont care to be honest. I dont look like one,and I’m not a basement dweller who plays dungeons and dragons, I just think Star Wars is cool.

And if you do play dungeons and dragons, good for you! Enjoy what you wanna!

Chestnuts roasted by ory_bloodmyre @ 04/12/2009 7:42 AM

I have no problem with the books and comics myself. In fact I love the old Marvel series and have gotten through some work days by listening to Star Wars audiobooks.

Actually I have to really recommend the series of 12 Indiana Jones books from Bantam press. They chronicle Indy from college graduation to the months leading up to Temple of Doom. They’re very much in the spirit of the films and include many film characters. Ignore the Martin Caiden books (he wrote two) as they are overly technical and treat Indy like some asshole American James Bond.

Chestnuts roasted by Barry @ 04/12/2009 8:41 AM

I had the temple of doom annual when I was a kid, which was pretty much just a comic book adaptation of the movie, and I frickin’ loved that book. I never really got into the young Indianna Jones tv series, as it bothered me how he didnt look at all like Harrision Ford, and it just seemed to have a little too farfetched storylines. I’ve yet to see the new movie too, but have been told its terrible with Shylar Buff or whatever his name is being the main character. It should have been shortround!

Chestnuts roasted by ory_bloodmyre @ 04/12/2009 8:49 AM

Give the new movie a chance. Don’t listen to what others say, watch it and get your own opinion! I loved it. Aliens, Russians, a city of gold. Pure Indy IMO.

Chestnuts roasted by Barry @ 04/12/2009 10:00 AM

And no, Shia is NOT the main character. He has just as much screen time as Short Round in ToD or Henry Senior in TLC. He’s a sidekick and plays the role well.

Chestnuts roasted by Barry @ 04/12/2009 10:00 AM

Today my husband and I are going to church and then going to eat Easter dinner with my dad, stepmom, and some other pseudo-family people. Should be a good time. I just wish it wasn’t cloudy and raining. I wanted a sunny Easter. :(

Chestnuts roasted by Annette @ 04/12/2009 10:09 AM

By the way, everyone eat lots of Easter candy for me! (I’m trying to cut down on sugar a bit.)

Chestnuts roasted by Annette @ 04/12/2009 10:10 AM

You guys make it sound like Matt is the AC version of the “Soup Nazi.” NO AC FOR YOU!

Actually, not finishing the AC this year may be the best thing ever, as I am now anxious to see what will happen this year. Will he finish it? Will he simply have the characters break the 4th wall and simply tell us how they beat the villain, ala like the crab summer subplot? Will it all be a dream? Will all of the characters come down with anmesia, thereby forgetting last year? The possibilities are endless.

Heck, I think these characters should have their own tv soap opera. “As the AC Turns?” “General AC” “All MY Legos?” Put it on Cartoon Network right after Robot Chicken.

Anyway, we’re doing absolutely nothing this Easter. Not even a special meal. I’ve been eating Jellybeans for the past month and am frankly kind of sick of them.

Chestnuts roasted by King JLA @ 04/12/2009 10:30 AM

I won’t pass judgement ’til I’ve seen it then Barry.

Speaking of Indiana Jones, this is hilarious:
