I was hoping my first post after a seventeen year drought of blog entries would be more substantial, but I had work today, so all you get is filler.

The Advent Calendar isn’t finished. I feel okay with this, because we still haven’t taken down our Christmas tree. I’m serious. And it’s a real tree. And the decorations are still on it. And it’s right in the middle of our living room window, so it’s not like we can keep this dastardly secret to ourselves. Believe me, it has nothing to do with refusing to let go. When you get down to it, we’re just kind of disgusting,

Or maybe the Advent Calendar is finished, but linked in mysterious ways. It’s very doubtful and I’m probably lying.

I don’t owe anyone anything. I was quoted on the Ghoulies IV DVD box, for Christ’s sake. You’re lucky I turned down Hollywood.

I hope everyone’s well. I don’t have work tomorrow, so unless I come up with some brillaint excuse to get out of writing, there will be new, actual content here. What will it be about? I’m not allowed to tell you.

Clearly, a survey is in order. In the comments, tell us your least favorite movie of all time. It doesn’t need to be the worst movie you’ve ever seen, because bad movies can be great. Muster all of your personal bias, and present the reasons why “Movie X” makes you want to kill people with rocks.

Once I finish building my robot, I’ll join in.

Maybe Matt could open up a new thread so we can put some of the recent unpleasantness behind us. This is reaching Bitner-esque proportions up in this piece. I don’t think He has abandoned us, but as loyal readers/watchers/participants, I think we can handle being alone here at the X for a while longer. We’re all reasonably well-behaved, right?

Seriously guys, Matt is just some dude who has a job and a life OUTSIDE of sitting around photographing Lego’s and writing about Ecto Cooler. Do you know how much time it must take to do one entry? Let alone a full MONTH worth of photos, dialog, plots, sub-plots. An entry that takes us a minute and a half to read, probably takes 4-5 HOURS for Matt to write and photograph.

So who cares if hes taken a couple weeks away from the website. He’s probably busy with his job. Hell I have a blog that hardly NOBODY visits and even I have a hard time updating on a semi-regular basis. I can’t imagine doing all the work needed to have an updated like the AC ready for every single day of the month.

So cut the guy some slack. And the Peter Jackson ‘King Kong’ movie sucked. Waaaay to long! There isn’t enough story in that movie to fill 3 hours. All we really need to know is there is a gigantic ape that likes to destroy shit that somehow ends up in New York. I’d rather see Michael Bay’s ‘King Kong’ … at least it’d be to the point 8)

wow- I really hope that a new post happens just so we can put this whole thread behind us. Frankly I think Matt is probably like the rest of us- he knows that jobs are getting scarce, so he’s working his ass off to keep his. As a bill paying adult, I can appreciate that.

I’ve returned after decidely more than 16-hours, and I’m glad my bud slaves took a break too. Has anyone here ever seen “Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey”? I am a HUGE fan of the first one, and I fear the second on. It seems weird. Anyone?

I kind of like Bill & Ted’s Bogus Journey PlantMonster. Its no where near as good as the first, but the Grim Reaper made the movie for me. I have been told I have crappy taste in movies though, so I wouldn’t go on my recommendation alone.

Both Bill and Ted movies are pretty cool. The first one is the best, though. But the second one has STATION and cool homemade Robots.

Also, I really like how time travel was exploited in Bill and Ted. It’s the online time movie I can think of where they just said, “Well after everything’s over we’ll go back in the machine and do x, thus causing x” and then it would happen…

An English Teacher, thanks for that. I’m a grammar nazi myself. Might I add one? “Should of,” “could of,” and “would of” is incorrect. It’s HAVE, not OF. I see that a lot and I bite my tongue (fingers?), but I can no longer be silent.

PlantMonster, I’m a fan of both B&T movies, but the sequel is an entirely different creature than the first. Proceed with caution, but enjoy. Oh, and the Luther Burger sounds deadly, but the Double Bypass burger I mentioned earlier has it beat by a long shot.

Bill and Ted’s Bogus Journey is WONDERFUL – totally tongue-in-cheek, making fun of itself humor that really worked. ‘Death’ is one of the better comedic characters. Station kinda sucked – that was there for the kids, I am sure. However, gotta love the massively redeeming ending! STATION!

I liked both Bill and Ted movies. The second one was obviously pretty tongue in cheek,but I like stuff like that.

Saturday Night Troll? Hope everyone’s having a good one, as warranted. I think I’m going to finish reading Ghost World and then go watch the movie. Hopefully it’s half as good as the book.

I’m still kind of in denial about the Keanu Reeves as Spike Spiegel thing. I know he knows kung fu, but…it’s just not working for me. If nothing else, he’s just a little too old for the character, isn’t he? Although, I just racked my brain for who else could possibly play him better, and all I can come up with is Adrian Grenier because of the poofball hair. If only he could act…James Franco, maybe? I could see Keanu playing Cowboy Andy, or a totally kickass Vincent Volaju.
