I was hoping my first post after a seventeen year drought of blog entries would be more substantial, but I had work today, so all you get is filler.

The Advent Calendar isn't finished. I feel okay with this, because we still haven't taken down our Christmas tree. I'm serious. And it's a real tree. And the decorations are still on it. And it's right in the middle of our living room window, so it's not like we can keep this dastardly secret to ourselves. Believe me, it has nothing to do with refusing to let go. When you get down to it, we're just kind of disgusting,

Or maybe the Advent Calendar is finished, but linked in mysterious ways. It's very doubtful and I'm probably lying.

I don't owe anyone anything. I was quoted on the Ghoulies IV DVD box, for Christ's sake. You're lucky I turned down Hollywood.

I hope everyone's well. I don't have work tomorrow, so unless I come up with some brillaint excuse to get out of writing, there will be new, actual content here. What will it be about? I'm not allowed to tell you.

Clearly, a survey is in order. In the comments, tell us your least favorite movie of all time. It doesn't need to be the worst movie you've ever seen, because bad movies can be great. Muster all of your personal bias, and present the reasons why "Movie X" makes you want to kill people with rocks.

PlantMonster I don’t know if Matt has reviewed those strawberry and vanilla valentines peeps yet but I try to get them every year. They have came out about 5 years now. They have not an artificial starburst type of strawberry taste to them. They are more of a mellow taste. The flavored sugar on them are more of a crystal texture then the other peeps. The marshmellow is pink and tastes like strawberry too. I love the peeps they put out that the marshmellow is a color rather then just being white.

Lori If you want more amusement through the comments on Netflix type in bonus disk. There you will find a ton of comments saying they were so disapointed to rent sleeping beauty or whatever it was just to get the bonus disk that has a game on it plus a music video or something. And how their children were crushed. Netflix IMO makes it obvious that it’s the bonus disk and there is no movie whatsoever on it.

Also I don’t know your religious beliefs but there is a site I found recently called christianspotlight.com that has a section where extreme conservatives write how offensive movies are and if they would suggest them to other people like themselves. Someone was offended that Space Chimps I believe it was used the words Gosh, Golly, Gee Wizz etc. because that was taking the lord’s name in vain. I read that about 2 weeks ago and I still can’t believe it.

Happy Birthday to Mystie,Shaunfu and a belated one to Kid Nicky!! I hope you do something to pamper yourselves and all that stuff. I love birthday wishes but I am honestly bad at them. My birthday is coming up on March 7th LOL!

mandy_reeves I am so so sorry about your Grandma. How you describe dementia it sounds pretty neat it makes me almost wish I had it! Maybe you should write for ads for a living lol! My Grandma last month got her femur removed and replaced with a metal one because cancer spread there. She is in a retirement center and they won’t release her until she is able to sit comfortably in a wheelchair. They do physical therapy every day on her. I visited her during my visit for Christmas and it was so sad. She lays in a bed all day with a tv and remote drugged up on morphine. I talked to her and her eyes wandered around the room loopy on meds. She held a conversation but it was just sad. I can’t imagine having all that but the mental illness to go along with it.

Cat the Vampire Slayer When the butterfly effect came out I read customer reviews on netflix about how Donnie Darko was so much better and everyone should rent that movie instead. I watched it a year or two later and it’s nothing like the butterfly effect. the butterfly effect is one of my favorite movies. I don’t hate Donnie Darko like you do but I think it’s overhyped.

Jason It’s a taxadermied crab. Don’t worry about it.

Annette I hated Children of Men. I loved the plot, looked forward to it, and then thought it was long and boring. I almost want to make a remake just to make a better version.

bay harbor butcher Where should I start… if the comment that I read with your name on it is a snapshot of future comments from you to come then I think you should go back to lurking mode or find another website to hang out and post comments at. Your comment brought the quality of this comments section WAY down. All of the regulars here post mature, elequent comments that are spelled correctly to the best of their ability out of respect. You cannot imagine how pissed off you made me just by calling others a “HOMO”.

Anyway, I am such a picky movie watcher I wouldn’t know where to start on a rant about horrible movies. I think most mainstream movies are horrible. I am very picky about what movies I watch. I watch movies for free online so anymore I don’t take too much value in movies. If they are good they are good if they aren’t they aren’t. It wasn’t like I tried too hard or paid anything to see them. When a 3 hour movie sucks or a fairly decent movie has a disapointing ending then I do feel bad in a way. I love independent movies. I love a thought provoking gritty realistic movie. I also love cheesy made for tv movies as well. I love some movies that are bad movies from my childhood like the Wizard, the teenage mutant ninja turtle movies, well honestly I am thinking of other movies but I don’t want to have people get upset that I said their cherished childhood movies were cheesy and bad. But the point is I enjoy a broad range of movies not just independent ones. I also love a good sappy movie sometimes and horror movies.

I really enjoyed the first SAW movie but I don’t like any of the other movies in the series. I keep on watching them hoping they will go back to what the original movie had.

I hate most of the modern day comedies. Also romantic comedies. They are so flat and predictable. It makes me feel horrible for the mass public that they fork over their hard earned money time and time again for that crap. They are so stupid they think they are well written. There is one exception I love the movie the sweetest thing with Cameron Diaz and Christina Applegate in it. I have seen that movie so many times. It’s like a guy movie but for girls. If that makes any sense what so ever. All the other ones are terrible lol!

Everybody that said Nepoleon Dynamite is a horrible movie I applaud and agree with you. I convinced Harry to watch that movie with me. He let me pick the movie to do me a favor. I was so embarrassed that he let me and he still brings it up vowing never to let me pick out a movie to watch again.

There was a group of people behind us cracking up throughout the movie and still to this day I am convinced they were stoned. Someone in the group told me that was the second time they had watched the movie in the theater. I don’t get the majority of the population the majority of the time.

A great movie though that has a similar nerd gets picked on storyline is a movie called Welcome to the Dollhouse. The nerd is a girl, and it’s a dark comedy. You can find it on youtube. It’s not for people that get easily offended but it’s worth a watch for the rest. It might bring up bad memories of being teased like I remember everytime I watch it but it’s still a good quality movie.

I think that’s enough from me. I have a copy of the boy with the striped pajamas and a 1980 remake of the Diary of Anne Frank with Melissa Gilbert in it staring Anne I haven’t decided what order to watch them but I will watch them tonight. I have had the Diary of Anne Frank on the DVR for over a week now so it must go.

well…my grandma had a heart attack this morning about 4:30 and she crossed over. She had a heart condition to begin with, but the pneumonia kind of aggravated it.

I love you mom mom….I’ll miss going to the mall and hanging out with you watching Regis and Kelly, and Rachel Ray, and emeril. She was one feisty old lady, but had a gigantic heart of gold. Fiercely loyal and hilariously honest. We used to have a ball when we went shopping…going up to the perfume displays and messing around, and every guy I ever dated knew that me and mom mom were a team…if you were in good with mom mom then you were in with me. I’d be getting ready to go out and she would have my dates in tears laughing from all her stories or observations on life and current events, and it would be hard to pull them away from the couch.

My condolences Mandy. Losing a grandparent that you are close with is tough. You will never get over it completely, but it will get better in time. Just try not to stop doing things that you used to do together because it hurts too much. Instead, do them and always remember why they were awesome.

As far as the AC goes, tomorrow is the 23rd (again). Maybe Matt is going to come back with a bang.

Today (22nd) is my birthday. Yay me!

TeddyRay I would share you opinion, because I do like breasts, but it’s not really a fair opinion. If I don’t want to see junks, I have to be willing to not see breasts. Fair is fair. Some women experience the same kind of rage seeing other women’s sex-parts and mammos that I do when I’m tricked into seeing some stupid douchebag’s batwing.

To me, it’s a completely agreeable sacrifice. 90% of all tit-shots are totally unnecessary and forced to the point of being unrealistic anyway. It’s almost distracting in a way, because I find myself wondering if I really just saw hoots or if I imagined them. Then I find myself wondering why the hell they did that so blatantly. It just comes off as very cheap and childish.

That remaining 10% is reserved for pornographic films where it’s mandatory that you see hundreds of wangs and fun-duffles per second. You’d be an idiot not to expect seeing genitals out the wazoo (and IN the wazoo) during a spank film. I think the only thing you can do wrong in this type of film is zoom in on a guy’s face. Which, go figure, they do exactly that quite excessively.

Eureka! It seems all film-makers of all genres are just completely brain-dead. Uwe Boll being the lowest end of the spectrum.

Morfnblorsh- I must tell you that I would much rather see a chick’s chi-chis than a dude’s doowangle. Females are just much more aesthetically pleasing than guys. Don’t get me wrong, I love men, but I’d much rather look at a woman.

DarkSideofBrightness Teehee, why thank you! I agree with you, but my opinion is biased being that I am of the male non-priest, non-eunuch, non-robot demographic between the ages of 1 and Not-Dead.

Not all women are as accepting (or awesome) as you though, and I happen to be one of those poor misguided fools that tries to be fair to everyone. A shame, isn’t it? I think I’d make a totally awesome sociopath.
