12/05/2008: Holiduh.

Woof. Long day. Just got home. Working on the Advent now, but it may be an hour or two late. Shit happens, even during Christmastime.

Let’s just call this a random thread for now. I’ll update this post when the Advent is up to date. :)

EDIT: AC’s been updated for December 5th. Technically, I wasn’t late!

So what’s everyones winter been like so far? Ours has been pretty warm and it seems to be the case for most of the country? Anyone have unseasonably /cooler/ temps?

Ghosted by Eddie Lightning Frog @ 12/05/2008 8:40 PM EST

I’d say ours in Florida has been kind of unseasonably cold. I mean, we’ve had a few hard freezes already in November. Usually where I live it doesn’t get way cold until late December, at least.

THIRD!

Ghosted by rockasoo @ 12/05/2008 8:43 PM EST

It’s been pretty seasonal here. Cold, but not horrible. Foggy for a few days. however.

Ghosted by Aaron @ 12/05/2008 8:43 PM EST

Slightly nippy in North Carolina (for NC, anyway). Already flurries (light, light flurries, but it’s NC, and not the mountains)…so a bit cooler than normal.

Matt, you ever think about doing a podcast?

A WAITERBOT PODCAST!

Winter. This bozo I work with was getting all alarmist today, announcing we are going to have 7 YARDS of snow this weekend in NYC.

Bozo: “Heyyyyy. We’re gonna have 7 yards of snow this weekend.”

BIOU13: “…………….”

Bozo: “It’s gonna be pret-ty cra-zy.”

BIOU13: “You don’t know what a yard is, do you.”

Ghosted by Rev. Back It On Up 13 @ 12/05/2008 8:50 PM EST

Anything below 70 is too cold for me, so its been getting colder in my area. I’m a wimp.

I feel like listening to Christmas Wrapping. Yes.

Ghosted by Dio and Lucas @ 12/05/2008 8:53 PM EST

It hasn’t been bad in ohio. Mild coldness, but thats about it.

Who here likes stop motion G.I. Joe X-Mas videos?

Freezing cold in Illinois. However, that’s nothing new.

Ghosted by blueblur666 @ 12/05/2008 9:02 PM EST

Cold but not unbearably so in Southern New Jersey, probably in the lower 40s-upper 30s. Slightly cooler than usual, otherwise no big deal. We have had some snow already, but it didn’t stick around for longer than a few hours one morning.

Ghosted by starwenn @ 12/05/2008 9:06 PM EST

This morning it was 3 here. Probably about that now again. Just looked and it’s 57 in the house. I guess that explains why I’m so cold.

A WAITERBOT PODCAST!

THIS.

I think i need to start decorating for Christmas……my room still has pumpkin lights from october. XD

Ghosted by Dio and Lucas @ 12/05/2008 9:08 PM EST

Chicago has been absolutely brutal for the last few days… and about $700 in ridiculous car repairs hasn’t helped the holiday spirit any.

According to my handy thermometer, it is 16 degrees right now. woof.

However, I picked up A Charlie Brown Christmas today, so maybe snuggling up with the little lady to a little nostalgia will brighten the outlook for the rest of the year.

Cheers, all.

Ghosted by HCS @ 12/05/2008 9:11 PM EST

ha, i still have halloween window clings, about ten pumpkin candle holder thingies in the front window, and a halloween welcome mat. maybe tomorrow…

Ghosted by Amy @ 12/05/2008 9:11 PM EST

Geez, Amy. Do you live in Minnesota or something? That’s frigid! We just moved to Indiana after living in Texas forever, so I was so pumped for snow and cooler temps. But so far no real snow, just ice cold rain :/

Ghosted by Eddie Lightning Frog @ 12/05/2008 9:17 PM EST

Can anyone catch me up on why Kuse is all depressed? Is there a post I missed that explained it?

Ghosted by Dano @ 12/05/2008 9:20 PM EST

Our weather has been nothing unusual. It’s hovered in the forties or fifties, which is normal for December in Oregon, and it’s remained cloudy with patches of rain, which is also normal.

Ghosted by Mars @ 12/05/2008 9:21 PM EST

Oh yeah. I still have the mat out too…..XD The only x-mas related things I have out are the PM advent calendars and they take up a lot of space. -_-

Speaking of Christmas….its about time I played Christmas NIGHTS…..I’ll bet its snowing by now. *fires up Sega Saturn*

Ghosted by Dio and Lucas @ 12/05/2008 9:21 PM EST

Dano: I don’t think it’s been explained why Kuse is depressed. Last year he had a reason, but this time he really doesn’t, aside from his and his family’s new lives as hunted runaways.

Ghosted by Mars @ 12/05/2008 9:22 PM EST

All I will say is that all questions will be answered. :) Anything that’s happened outside of the Calendar is not (or will not) be necessary to get it. If you’re confused over something, you’re supposed to be. (As of now!)

Ghosted by Matt @ 12/05/2008 9:24 PM EST

And the house. Don’t forget about the ass-expensive house he nearly died working to pay off.

Ghosted by Dio and Lucas @ 12/05/2008 9:24 PM EST

Geez, Amy. Do you live in Minnesota or something?

almost. southern wisconsin. 5 inches of snow and counting. single digit temps. wind chills below zero. you’d think i’d get used to it after all these years…but no.

i miss baseball.

Ghosted by Amy @ 12/05/2008 9:28 PM EST

HAHA! Amy, only a few more months til spring training!

Ghosted by crazy_mainer @ 12/05/2008 9:43 PM EST

Mannn Christmas Nights was so awesome. My Saturn broke years ago, but I was just listening to the Christmas Nights soundtrack a couple days ago. So cool. I wish the new Nights on Wii had gotten better reviews. Would’ve been cool to see a Christmas Nights DLC or something like that.

Amy, that sounds brutal. When anyone here complains about how cold 24 degrees is I’ll just smack them for you. I went back to Houston for Thanksgiving and it was in the 60s at night, still low 80’s in the day. People were walking around in parkas just moaning about how freezing it was hahaha.

Ghosted by Eddie Lightning Frog @ 12/05/2008 9:45 PM EST

Eddie: Believe me when I say I feel the same. Problem is that most reviewers didn’t give the game a chance, and so the sales suffered for it (most reviewers these days suck so hard, they’d give Waiterbetty a run for her money). The soundtrack for the new game is AMAZING and I think its up there w/ the Brawl and Mario Galaxy soundtrack (maybe even better); the sucker’s 3 Cds and like 80 tracks.

On the upside, the PS2 remake has Christmas NiGHTS. On the downside, its Japan ONLY. T_T

I’ve rediscovered the joys of the movie Stay Tuned. I forgot how much I love Stay Tuned, I love the movie because I wish I could use a magic remote to travel through TV shows. :D

Ghosted by Palmerholic @ 12/05/2008 9:52 PM EST

It’s been fairly comfortable here in Southern California. No snow in the mountains yet. Until about a week and a half ago, the high temps have been in the low 80’s. It doesn’t get really cold here until about January, when the rain usually comes.

Ghosted by Thomas @ 12/05/2008 9:53 PM EST

All game reviewers now suck… people say Sonic the Hedgehog (XBox 360 and PS3) is better than Sonic Unleashed. BS! From what I’ve seen, StH is the most horrible game in the series (cutscenes BAD, gameplay BAD, beastiality BAD), and SU is GREAT! Not to serious, fun to play, etc. I can go on and on…

Ghosted by Aaron @ 12/05/2008 10:22 PM EST

Agreement, Aaron. I say don’t trust anyone paid to review or sell games.

There’s been a spot of frost in my neighborhood recently in San Jose, but it has been getting colder, despite the nice sunny days. I’m already pining for Spring.

Ghosted by Dio and Lucas @ 12/05/2008 10:26 PM EST

It’s fairly normal temps here in my neck of the woods. It’s been in the 30s as of late Oct. Right now though , it’s even colder. In the 20s!
Dio and Lucas: I find it very stupid to depend on reviews to make decisions for you, when it comes to video games.
Hope ya’ll are doin ok. =)

Ghosted by ULTRAMAN @ 12/05/2008 10:27 PM EST

It’s been in the 30’s and 40’s here in RI, and no snow yet except for a little bit that got washed away. No snow that counts. I feel like I’m in some kind of bizarre seasonal limbo. There’s some Christmas stuff out, some Halloween stuff, but then in the yard there’s some parsley and lettuce still growing from the summer.

I hate taking finals. It turns out I narrowly failed my final for my online class :( . I need a hug.

Advent. Now. Need more Lipton/Hat.

I have a theory about Kuse..
(ignore if you don’t wanna be spoiled)

….He’s an impostor! The real Kuse was kidnapped.

That or he’s all emo like Knacks was.

Ghosted by Terror Claws @ 12/05/2008 10:41 PM EST

I think it’s interesting that you make the Advent Calendar on the fly like that. Do you have a story-arc in mind when you make them, or is it more random than we think?

Ghosted by Chiablo @ 12/05/2008 10:42 PM EST

Norbert, the first one is free: *hugs*

Lipton Hat sounds like a soup.

Ghosted by Dio and Lucas @ 12/05/2008 10:43 PM EST

Flippin’ cold up here in Michigan. Been that way for a while.

Ghosted by sfcfb @ 12/05/2008 10:53 PM EST

I think Kuse is just being emo, but in a less myspace-y sort of way. Or is it not technically emo if myspace isn’t involved somehow? My own theory is that either Box or Tigerboy is involved in some kind of plot. Too boring to do the advent calendar, or conveniently off to the side and plotting?

Ghosted by hobbitsubculture @ 12/05/2008 10:56 PM EST

Good temps here in Newfoundland.

Ghosted by Methoes @ 12/05/2008 11:15 PM EST

Myspace has nothing to do with being emo, mang. I mean, I’ve had 4 accounts. All of them hardly got used, and I’m the biggest emo you guys have ever known~

Hey Hobbit! RI here too! I wish for snow, just not while I’m at work. I haaaate driving in it.

There were no christmas cartoons on that I wanted to watch tonight, so I’m watching my Dr Seuss celebration dvd

I’m living in Seoul, South Korea now, and I gotta say, it’s much more Christmasy here then I expected. Some of the buildings are decked out with xmas stuff. It’s freezing too, like -17 celcius. Still no snow tho…

Also, Methoes, where on the rock are you from? I just moved here from St. John’s!

Contrary to the blog’s messed up clock, I am not posting this comment after midnight. And I shall make deadline. And all will be well.

Ghosted by Matt @ 12/06/2008 12:21 AM EST

You can do it… I… we believe in you!

And… we need to feed the addiction.

P.S. I bought a Knacks figure from a guy on different site… and I referred to it as Knacks the entire time before I realized a low percentage of people would understand what I was looking for. Point? Spread the word!

P.S.S. Waiterbot is incredibly hard to find.

Been drinkin’ whiskey. Warm here inside. Weatherbug says 25 outside in Silver Spring, MD.
