AUGH!! Now I have to go buy those things for my boys (both big and little)! I had no idea the candy canes/wreaths detached – I didn’t like the idea of them permanently being holiday toys. Thanks a lot! Re. stockings, my brothers and I grew up with fun-filled stockings that my mother hand-knit. I made sure that my husband understood the importance of the stocking and we have continued the tradition with our son (and each other). I made cross-stitch stocking for them. Opening the stocking items is my favorite part of Christmas morning. We spend way more money than we should, but it is guaranteed fun.

I still hang up and fill stockings each year. Just one of those things I can’t let die alongside the other traditions I find myself failing at more every year. The wife tries, but it’s seen more of a burden on her end. Maybe I’ll actually try to do an advent calender this year to make up for it.

Those Galactic Heroes look awesome.

My wife and I do stockings for each other and my parents do one each for us. I noticed a difference, though. I’m from Georgia and my stockings always consisted of small gifts, candy, gum, etc. My wife is from Pennsylvania and she’s used to toothbrushes, razors, deodorant, etc. Yankees are weird.

It’s still too early for Christmas…my birthday’s coming up…focus, people!

George Lucas doesn’t need any encouragement to release a remake of the Star Wars Christmas Special (Now in THX HD with additional never before seen footage!)
