what up with the “where is the end” and the green-faced Griswold?

Ghosted by Nizz @ 01/02/2009 12:08 AM EST

Did they all die?

Ghosted by Hazard @ 01/02/2009 5:13 AM EST

There is a hidden pic in the advent border folder:

Ghosted by jack @ 01/02/2009 6:06 AM EST

‘birguslatro’, is that a possible anagram?

… and why call the pic of the crab ‘elephant’?

You think the story’s over but it’s ready to begin!

Ghosted by Nizzler @ 01/02/2009 11:11 AM EST

birguslatro, isn’t an anagram, its the class of crab, its been used as a clue before

I’m wondering if “where is the end?” is a call for adventuers to find the last parts of the advent where they might be hiding

This is the title of the Clark W Griswold green face pic:

You know, Matt is probably one of the few webmaster’s that actually *encourages* his readers to paw and scavenge through his code.

Also, the arcano/chevy is epic. I love it. He just looks so…happy.

Ghosted by Ann @ 01/02/2009 9:54 PM EST

I wonder if Matt will leave this year with the bad guys having won (wouldn’t be that bad since a win now wouldn’t feel the same). Give hints of the bad things that happened on days 23, 24 and 25 but mostly just have the site being invaded for a year by the victorious Arcano and Crabs. Have crabs in all the articles like with Captain Crunch and have arcano taking over parts like Griswald

Ghosted by Rob @ 01/02/2009 10:45 PM EST

Never thought that the rest of the AC could be hidden somewhere on the net!

Ghosted by Tresjolie9 @ 01/03/2009 2:33 AM EST

I think the story will play out subtly within random articles that tie together. I remember being on of the few that tried to lace together the common themes of the summer megaparty that contained the first appearance of crabs. If you recall all the articles were strung together with little hints..some more obscure than we thought at the time. The Capn Crunch having as Matt says “a vague affiliation with pirates” hmmm. Whatever happened to the pirates from last years advent calender? And I’m still giving a lot of weight to the end of 2002 foreshadowing the appearance of the father/creator of all Mares… Is that the origin of Arcano? Hmm only time will tell.

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/03/2009 9:44 AM EST

Aahha….eureka!!.. A simple google search of Capn Crunch turned up a hit for the website of one John “Capn Crunch” Draper. He was one of the original computer hackers of the era before I even knew what a computer was. Sounds like a likely connection given what the scope of box 23 has become… Ok call me crazy all you want but I think I’m on to something.

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/03/2009 9:54 AM EST

Dang you Arcano! does your evil know no bounds? you infect Clark Griswald, then you infect the banner header of the blog pages with the little googily-eyed crab, but now you go after Captain Crunch?!

Captain Crunch: I’m screwed!

now you’ve gone too far!

Ghosted by Andrew2H @ 01/03/2009 11:44 AM EST

Well Andrew, I believe (and I may be wrong here) that “googlie-eyed” crab sticker has been a part of the trapper keeper header for some time now. The crab that concerns me is the claw that tore through the corner of the Bubblicious wrapper. You can find that on a string of articles that I believe to this day have hidden meanings and connections to each other. They were all during last years Summer Mega Party. One I recall was a choose your own adventure book whose image was borrowed from a website that also had a book about killer rabbits on the same page. Too convenient to be utter coincidence. The other articles are still up for grabs as far as signifigance goes but I think this Capn Crunch Hacker is a legit concern to the cause.

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/03/2009 11:33 PM EST

quick question…. what’s up with those scary-ass crabs? Are they real crabs or does Matt own some freaky crab, uh, replicas?

Ghosted by Nizz @ 01/03/2009 11:56 PM EST

Hey Box 23-ers, question for yous alls:
*If* I find the time (and energy), interested in a 2008 AC desktop wallpaper again? Any suggestions for the theme? I’m kinda partial to James Liption with a cup for a hat, but hey, whatever. Maybe Arcano? I was going to wait till the AC was finished incase it got epic, and while I have full faith in Matt, Knacks, Kuse, Mare et al I started mulling over ideas.

Linky in my name to last year’s for the new folks.

Ghosted by Ann @ 01/04/2009 12:41 AM EST

Nizz, he mentioned something about having to hide the “crab taxidermy” for Christmas, so I assume what we have been seeing is a model.

Ghosted by Tresjolie9 @ 01/04/2009 1:20 AM EST

…. (looks around)…

… where did Christmas go?…

… (looks again)….

… WHERE DID CHRISTMAS GO!?!?!

(runs away crying)

Ghosted by Captain Will @ 01/05/2009 2:47 AM EST

Perhaps its just laziness on my part, but I was considering leaving my indoor Christmas decorations up permanently.

@Ann – I like the idea of a Lipton/Cup themed wallpaper actually :)

Newscaster person:…In other news, the unearthly interdimensional dictator Arcano, a.k.a. “The Most Recent Destroyer of Worlds”, a.k.a. “Galactus’s Cousin”, a.k.a. “That Who Shalt Ruin Your Pants With Your Own Poop”, a.k.a. “The Manipulator of Coconut Crabs”, a.k.a. “That Scary Green Headed Dude”, was killed today by the Adventuers, mainly because the Advent Calendar was keeping them up on all hours waiting for a new episode, which in case has not been updated since the 22nd…

Ghosted by Andrew2H @ 01/05/2009 7:34 PM EST

The most recent article on the blog features Scrath and Sniff stickers. Are these the same ones Matt reviewed a year ago? Well that doesn’t matter. My point is the “Tiny Martini” sticker is in the same place on the Trapper Keeper header as the Coconut Crab claw of summer megaparty 07. This tells me the last days of the advent calender will play out this summer in a cryptic way so as to lead us into next year with suspense. If that’s what happens I accept full credit for the observations as crazy as they may seem.

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/05/2009 7:50 PM EST

Pig Malien is fast becoming our resident crazed conspiracy theorist!!!

Keep it coming, Piggy old boy!! I’m loving it. If nothing else, you’re keeping me entertained (and frankly a little on edge). Keep hope alive, my friend. Matt will come through for us eventually. And really, the longer he takes, the more likely it will be spectacular!!

Ghosted by Fungusmungus @ 01/05/2009 8:26 PM EST

No problem FM. I have a nose for such things. I wish it were legal to “moonlight” as a freelance Criminal Pathologist. Nah I’d probably get in trouble for something like that. I better just stick to my day job. LOL

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/05/2009 8:42 PM EST

Another log for the fire… Am I the only one that recalls a “green” Capn Crunch sticker on the blog header? I wonder why that could be missing now? Hmmmmm.

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/05/2009 10:24 PM EST

I remember that too, Piggums. Mostly because I was questioning what made the Cap’n go all environmental.

Ghosted by Senor Booyah @ 01/06/2009 4:15 AM EST

Here is the header you are referring to Pig Malien

http://www.x-entertainment.com/turktrap.gif

Ghosted by Jack @ 01/06/2009 12:40 PM EST

Ok Jack. Thanks. I see now that there are quite a few things missing. Although I stand by the “real-life Capn Crunch computer hacker./.Arcano hacking the site under the guise of Capn Crunch correlation” Ok I’ve got nothing. Carry on yall. I’ve just made this more convoluted than it really needs to be. lol.

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/06/2009 10:15 PM EST

Ok here is the article about stickers that I thought was last year but apparently was from 4 years ago. If you scroll down you can see a pre-arcano version of the Capn Crunch observing “Noahs Ark” of all things. Hmmm, animals walking and scheming together? Where have we seen such a scene? lol…. Here goes the link…

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/07/2009 7:47 PM EST

Finally some more evidence to escape persecution from those that dub me insane. Bwahahahah. Ok I’ll be good now. :)

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/07/2009 7:59 PM EST

Oh shit I just noticed a cameo appearance by Munrab in that article as well. Hmm and he’s also with the animals…how eerily convenient. How does all this fit together? DAMN!!

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/07/2009 9:56 PM EST

I gotta give it to ya, Piggy!!! That old sticker article has circus animals, Cap’n Crunch and the famous crab sticker from the header!!!

Now I’ll actually READ the article instead of looking at the pictures. Can’t just be coincidence….

Ghosted by Fungusmungus @ 01/08/2009 5:00 AM EST

Even if it was a coincidence there is nothing saying it won’t be added into the story somehow now that its been pointed out. I’ve always loved that article too.

Ghosted by Jack @ 01/08/2009 12:06 PM EST

I think it’s only meant as a glimpse into the mind and motivation behind this years story. Of course Capn. Crunch’s role isn’t clearly defined as of yet. And let’s take a look at what the color green simbolizes… greed, envy, nature. Of course that’s taking this to another level but that’s still more palatable than a zombified Clark Griswald or zombified Capn. Crunch. Hmmm.

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 01/08/2009 10:18 PM EST

7777 tease. Can’t bring myself to get too crazy. May spend a few minutes clicking around to see if Matt is fucking with me with potential hidden linked content…

Pretty sure he is, but eh, what the hell?

when you go here: http://x-entertainment.com/updates/pics/birguslatro/ and click on “Parent Directory” it takes you to an x-e homepage where Dec 5, 2007 is the Advent entry and the article is “Christmas Cap’n Crunch”.
I can’t find anything in either article, but it’s definitely weeeeeiiiiiiiird!

Ghosted by Nizzler @ 01/22/2009 3:55 PM EST

if you go here:
http://x-entertainment.com/updates/pics/birguslatro/
and click on Parent Directory, it takes you to an X=E page with December 5, 2007 as the Advent entry and Cap’n Crunch as the article… not sure what it means, but i’m sure it’s very, very…… very important

Ghosted by Nizz @ 01/24/2009 7:18 PM EST

7777
add ‘em = 28

multiply = 2401

divide = 0.020408

subtract = -14

WHOA!
search 7777 on X-E homepage and click first link, then Parent Directory. Scary stuff man.

Ghosted by Hazard @ 01/30/2009 3:51 AM EST

If you follow the link that Hazard posted above, you end up with a message written in wingdings. Here’s what it translates into:

WHY:
IT’S MEANINGLESS IT’S COMMERCIALIZED

WHEN:
WHEN IT MATTERS MOST

BUT:
DESTRUCTION IS MEANINGLESS WITHOUT A PLAN TO REBUILD.
INSTEAD OF PRIMARIES LET’S DO PASTELS
OVALS, BETTER THAN CIRCLES

HOW:
LEAVE IT TO US

I have no idea what it means. This is getting old.

Ghosted by Benjamin @ 02/02/2009 2:26 PM EST

Pastels instead of primaries? Ovals instead of circles? that makes me suspect that 2008’s Advent may not be resolved until Easter, as pastels and ovals makes me think of Easter eggs.

…maybe there are OTHER rabbits…

Ghosted by Jen @ 02/02/2009 2:34 PM EST

wait, that was from last year! it was the clue that led to the discovery of H.U.’s GMail address!

Ghosted by Andrew2H @ 02/02/2009 11:26 PM EST

yep.

Ghosted by Hazard @ 02/05/2009 4:10 AM EST

Hmm. Good work ya’ll you’ve led me to find another link to the past that may or may not have been overlooked. HAHAHA. Ok allow me to be serious for a moment (slight nod to Lance Storm fans if you get it your probably laughing now too lol) Anyway.. if you click on Nizzlers link and you follow the comments on the Capn Crunch article all the way to the end you’ll see a “linked” comment by a fellow called Lil Al. Click on the link to be taken to a website called “Arks Ark”. Yes another link to the old sticker article. Capn Crunch and Noahs Ark.

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 02/11/2009 9:44 PM EST

Oh and the “Ringmaster” character seems to fit the bill of a behind the scenes mastermind of Arcano’s dubious plans. Of course it could be all random crap that I’m putting together to make look related. Ahh either way I win. :) )

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 02/11/2009 9:49 PM EST

So basically, at this point, Matt has either stopped caring altogether, or this has all been part of the plan and the calendar will have a surprise Easter ending?

Ghosted by Anonymous @ 02/19/2009 2:33 AM EST

Hmm notice that the “Claw” is back on the front page along with a series of seemingly random articles underneath it. Ok time to get crazy kids! lol

Ghosted by Pig Malien @ 02/20/2009 7:30 AM EST

Ooo the AC has been taken down and replaced with a “Missing Persons” poster. What do you guys think the chances of all this being planned are?

Or… is Matt just running with something that kinda happened and turning it into something cool?

Ghosted by Kyle @ 03/05/2009 12:09 AM EST

so, if I were to email Hssxllo and ask him where the fudge the Advent gang is, would he not be able to answer it because he’s still a normal rabbit?

Ghosted by Andrew2H @ 03/07/2009 2:28 PM EST

Has anyone tried to take a closer look at that Missing Persons poster? I sense clues.

Ghosted by DocDragon @ 03/07/2009 3:49 PM EST

Hmm, interesting, that does look like some type of possible clue. However I don’t have photoshop on my computer, and the folks who were generally good at popping the clues seem to have vanished long ago.

But I am curious, and if anyone out there does know how to use photoshop, it would be appreciated in case it is some type of clue.

Also anyone have a link to the 2008 Advent Calendar?

Ghosted by Tresjolie9 @ 03/09/2009 1:11 AM EST

The FBI poster is the same as this one:

http://www.law.umkc.edu/faculty/projects/ftrials/price&bowers/FBI.jpg

(with three obvious changes)

I think it’s an ironic comment rather than an actual clue.

Here’s the 2008 calendar btw: http://x-entertainment.com/adventcalendar/2008/december1/ (just type in the appropriate dates)
