Cameron T. I believe the toy Advent calenders are meant to be assembled by adults for the enjoyment of children, so spoiling our fun wasn’t a consideration by the manufacturer. It would be nice if a toy company considered the feelings of those of us who took the 80’s “I don’t wanna grow up,” Toy’s R Us comercial seriously. No matter how much I hint to my wife that I want the new 2 foot Millenium Falcone she just thinks I’m joking. I could see McFarlane Toys coming out with a horror film Advent calender one day though, a bit removed from Playmobile, but it would definately be adults only.

Shawn Oh, I know that, I just wanted to warn anyone who hadn’t gotten their own calendar before that wants to follow along. :)

Rev: Happy that you’re reading them! The 2002 calendar a lot different from the others. 2003 is getting closer. 2004 is when it really started in the form that it continues today.
Wait a second…2002, 2003, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007….I can’t believe this is the seventh year of this.

I can’t believe that either. I started reading during year 2 and haven’t stopped!!! I never really cared about the holidays and decorating and all that before this site. Now I have to justify a $30 1980’s TMNT ornaments from ebay and multiple advent calendars every year. Awesome! The holidays aren’t the holidays anymore without this site, everyone knows that…

I was feeling a little left out after reading the 2002 calendar, because I had no idea who Mare Winningham was. So I looked her up, and it turns out she DOES look like a Playmobil person.
Then I looked in the mirror. Uh Oh. I look a little Playmobil myself.
Is a link to imageshack the best way to show you an image we’ve found/taken?

Rev–No prob. I’m still a relative newbie myself, since I just jumped into all this for the first time last year, even though I had been reading and posting sometime before that. I remember this time last year asking everyone “Who’s Mare?” and “What the hell is a Knacks?” What are all of you going on about?” Then I went on a binge reading calendars every spare chance I got at work and home. I was hooked right away. Now I’m planning on going back and reading them all again this year cause it was a lot to take in and I’ve forgotten so much. It was like cramming for a test the night before and then trying to remember everything a few months later.
Shawn–Dude, I’m so digging that Milennium Falcon. If I wanted to throw $200 at something that I totally didn’t need, there are other things I would rather have, but if I had a relative that had money to burn and just wanted to get me something frivilous, I would love to have that thing.
I don’t want to see the new Playmobil at all. I just want to experience the surprise of what pops out of it on a daily basis when the time comes–right here. Ever since last year Christmas and X-E are joined now. I almost can’t imagine one without the other.
doubtful, it looks like Arcano was created 11/13/08, that would be a big coincidence that Matt creats the box named that and the site goes live the next day

Matt, any chance of a new Box 23 thread? We need us a watchtower.
Someone may have asked this, I may be being stupid, but where is the main launch page for 2007? I see the 2002-2006 ones, but I couldn’t find a link for 2007 anywhere…

Hey Matt,
Account for the end of daylight savings time!……I don’t really care, just thought I’d point that out.

Katie and DrSketch–I posted all the links for calendars 2002-2006 a few comments up. Just keep scrolling up and you should find them. A few posts before that one, Matt posted a link for the 2007 one. That covers all of them so far.
Decided to make a really really really painfully basic links page for all the Calendars so I can just point people to it instead of trying to list all the URLs. If anyone’s interested in looking, click on my name. Can anyone provide the page to last year’s Box 23 discussions, too?
Awesome site BTW! Nice to have it all in one spot. I put links to all of the calendars in my instapaper site as well, so I can quickly bring them up…
Does anyone have the link for doho’s site? I could try to dig through the old posts for it, but if someone could save me the time I’d appreciate it…

i stood in line for Wow’s Wrath of the Lich King at midnight last night . It was nerds for as far as the eye could see. I felt like the tough guy on the block

Never mind, I’m a total idiot today. For anyone else, the site is http://www.dohopoki.com I don’t think my mind is warm enough yet to handle another mystery…

Good lord, Guise is a mad genius. Thanks so much for putting all that together, man! You too, Moony.
What in the holy hell is going on with Doho’s site? Is this yet ANOTHER insane mystery to follow?
Eh, took about five minutes, including the quick revisions I made after I uploaded, and not including Frontpage crashing. I guess the Advent was just too awesome for it.
Thanks for the link, Dr Sketch…I’ll add it probably tomorrow. Have a few things going on right now computer wise.
I’ve been away for a few days too, and come back to find it all — jollified.
And the XM Radio has a Holiday station out already, and I heard one of my absolute fav-o-rites on there today. I may get some Christmas spirit this year, after all. Will probably slowly start decorating this week so I can put the trees up with my hubby the Sunday/Monday before Thanksgiving.

I checked Doho’s site…I truly believe that his insanity is his own, and is not affiliated with Matt’s Advent Mystery.

A quick search of “Arcano Contrasena” (Arcano Password) brought up this site about “the protectors of the arcano circle” – don’t know if it’s related. Here’s the site: http://arcanos.mforos.com/password/

Oh, and “arcano” means “arcane” in english.
Maybe Matt’s going all New World Order on us?

Let’s not forget the clue “barnum” which kicked this whole thing off. (the name of the waiterbot picture in the last entry for halloween.) the clues may string together to form one uber-clue…and, yes, I just wanted to say uber-clue.

Praise the advent calendars!
Last night while waiting for the love of my life to get home from work, I took some Tylenol PM and dove into 2003. As the sleep inducing chemicals took hold of my brain, I became more and more engrossed in the antics of Mare Winningham and her brother Mystery Boy.
Unless I dreamed the entire thing, and there IS no Mystery Boy. In either case, a good time was had by me.
On an unrelated note, did you ever spend the entire night dreaming about work, only to have to wake up and go to work? Is there anything more depressing?
