Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash sounds good. I’ll have to find some.

i am totally in the christmas spirit.  i am one of those people who gets excited about christmas everytime it is the 25th day of a month….it doesn’t even matter which one.  it started snowing for the third time this year today, and i am so ready for santa.  ps- if anyone has a chance to see role models, i highly recommend it…i am seriously still giggling about some of the lines.

101st!
Yeah, I carved my Jack O’ Latern (i.e. just got the seeds out for roastin’) tonight with Rudolph playing in the background. I am trying hard to pace myself with Christmas but the stores and the little ones are making it difficult.

Although I’m a Sierra Mist fan and a huge fan of cranberry of any kind, the lemon-lime sodas give me horrible headaches these days and I’ve been drinking them less. I think it’s whatever crap chemicals that are being pumped into them. I had to stop drinking Sierra Mist Undercover Orange prematurely because of this.

ubik: Nice list, but “Cricket of The Hearth” was a Thanksgiving Special, although it does fit with this time of the year!

TF, I’m the same way with Boneless Wings. I’ll stick to “Traditional” myself.

ubik: I can help you with Christmas Specials:

Has anybody seen the live action version of The Year Without a Santa Clause?  I haven’t seen the full movie, but iv’e seen the clips of the Misers musical numbers. If those clips are any indication of what the movies is like, ill pass.

ULTRAMAN:  WHAT?!?!?!  THAT’S BLASPHEMY!!!!!

And just who be the sons of whores what wrought this horror of Christmas Kind?  I’ll have em swingin at the end of a gibbet before the year’s out, by thunder!

Arr, ’tis an outrage!

Chestnuts roasted by Captain Will @ 11/10/2008 12:53 AM

Actually I heard that musical numbers was the BEST part.

Chestnuts roasted by Moony @ 11/10/2008 12:53 AM

I’ve never personally seen it, but I’ve heard, ‘Grandma Got Run Over By A Reindeer” was one of those heartwarming, yet borderline ridiculous holiday specials. I’d rather watch Garfield, but the kids I went to school with all liked it so much they knew the song. I just never got on the bandwagon I guess.

Chestnuts roasted by Fuyoutakai @ 11/10/2008 12:55 AM

Ack…’that musical NUMBER…’

Sorry, Hazard…its Christmas all the way now!

Remember when Monica put the turkey on her head in one of the Friends Thanksgiving episodes? They did that bit years before
with Mister Bean. Only, it was a Christmas special. If anyone
wants to see it, just type in Merry Christmas Mister Bean on
YouTube. Where else will you see a Nativity scene with a truck,
a dinosaur, a helicopter, and a Dalek? Pretty good. Back to
Thanksgiving. I remember seeing Survivor Series 1990 on
Thanksgiving Night. Many people remember it as the night
The Undertaker debuted on WWF aka WWE. It was also
remembered for that giant egg that hatched, and this guy
dressed like a bird came out and danced in the ring with
Gene Okerlund. It’s almost time for Waiterbot.

Oh hey, Knacks posted to his MySpace!  JOY!

Just got back from spending the weekend with the family out of town. I spent most of today moving a HEAVY couch from my grandfather’s place to mine. Remind me never to do that again, by the way. That thing barely fit through my front door.

Matt–You ever get those lightbulbs?

Crayfish–Thanks for the head’s up on the Star Wars Holiday Special. I’ve actually never seen it and it looks great.

ubik and Captain Will–Thanks to you guys for that huge list. I never see as many Christmas specials as I would like every year but this year I’m going to try to do something about that. There are a lot of just Christmas themed movies I’ve always wanted to see too, like The Santa Claus movies, Santa Claus: The Movie, and others, so I need to get on that.

Also, I have a bit of a confession to make. I don’t think I’ve ever seen any Garfield holiday special of any kind–not Halloween, Thanksgiving, or Christmas. So, I’ve gotta find those too.

We got the SM Cranberry Splash here quite a while ago, but we’ve never had the Pomegranate 7-Up and it sucks cause I’d really like to try it.

Oh, and btw…

“This is Halloween, this is Halloween…”

Chestnuts roasted by DJ D @ 11/10/2008 2:20 AM

Hey, Nightmare Before Christmas was about both Halloween AND Christmas! It fits.

No Christmas special list could be complete without any of the South Park Christmas specials, as well as the Star Wars Holiday Special. I suggest getting the Rifftrax for that one. I’ve seen it, it’s truly as bad as everyone says it is.

And I’ve seen the live-action “Year Without A Santa Claus.” Dear. God. The musical number truly was the only good part of that special, and even THAT was bastardized! They combined both songs into one, instead of each Miser singing their full song! It was a waste of an hour. The only other grace for it was casting: John Goodman was Santa, there was nothing bad about that. Then we had Michael McKean as Snowmiser (odd, but turned out to be a perfect fit), and Harvey Fierstein as Heatmiser (mostly chosen because he was fat and had the word “fire” in his name).

Chestnuts roasted by Invader Norbert @ 11/10/2008 2:30 AM

I thought the combined miser song wasn’t bad, but the miser brothers are supposed to have SEPERATE songs, NOT a combined one! The guy who was playin Snowmiser was actually a good choice. But they picked a terrible choice for Heatmiser. Not that he’s a bad actor, he just doesn’t fill the role of Heatmiser that well.

JLAJRC Also there is a movie called gingerbread man it’s about a killer gingerbread man.  No shit.  The voice? Gary Busey.  It also has a sequel.  I have been too scared to watch it.  Someday I will.  There is also a Sliders episode called season’s greedings that is Christmas themed.

There is a youtube channel called ourchristmas

http://www.youtube.com/user/ourchristmas

They put a ton of great Christmas specials on there.  Mostly the ones that they haven’t played in years or they are off of a tape.  I recommend Pee Wee’s Christmas special.  I watched it last year on this channel and I am downloading it now.  It’s great and very dated.

I am watching mousercise on their other channel.  Jazzercise with Mickey.  You gotta love the mid 80′s.  The girl hosting it looks like Olivia Newton John.  I would love to get one of those sweatshirts with the Mousercise logo on it.  I think it would be a great conversation piece every time I would wear it.

I think we are going to Goodwill tomorrow.  I am so excited!  I used to live right by it but now we live all the way across town.  I could walk but you know.  I am just excited to see the dated christmas decorations.  Harry my best friend told me it was ok to take a look tomorrow.  He asked me if I wanted decorations and I said too bad we don’t live by Goodwill anymore I would of probably already bought some.  He’s been oddly supportive of my kooky things I get excited for.

I want to get a small artificial tree.  My other Grandparents (my Grandparents from my Dad’s side) got a tiny tree that they put on an end table they would just take out of the box and plug in every year.  I have always wanted one like that.  My Grandparents from my mom’s side that I grew up living with bought a tree every year and still do.  Then spend a couple of hours decorating it.

I think for now I will get a little tree. I know I saw a fiber optic one at Goodwill last year that I regretted not having the space for or the money.  I still do.  I think that would be nice not having to fuss with lights but just the decorations.  And if I got a ninja turtles ornament like someone else mentioned then I would just be estatic.  Or one of those mice ornaments that mcdonalds sold one Christmas from the movie Cinderella.  Or a Muppet babies/Muppets in general Christmas thing.  Ok I’ll leave you guys alone now.

Thanks Captain Will. That’s spectacular. It’s been cut, pasted, searched, downloaded, printed and glued in my Moleskin. We had the 2008 Adelaide Christmas Pageant here on Saturday (first Sat of Nov every year), which offically starts Christmas in this town. And it starts so quickly! The pageant draws to a close after 52 floats wind their way through the CBD (my favourite is Christmas Rapping because elves carry 1980s boom boxes), Father Christmas arrives at the end and is enthroned in a styrofoam cave in a major department store where two giant horses, Nipper and Nimble, serve as his footmen. As a kid I wondered why Santa lived in a cave… like he was Batman. Anyway, the entire city puts their trees and decorations up within 45 mins of the pageant ending. Which instantly makes me want to watch Christmas Cartoons or Christmas Vacation. And now with this list I can elaborate!

“Ho ho ho, I’m hu-hu-hungry…”

Commander Awesome – I cannot listen to ‘Deck the Halls’ without hearing in my head (and usually singing over everyone) Barney Rubble singing that.  Kudos.

Happy Birthday Muppet Baby!!! I’ll be 28 next month… so yea, I kinda feel ya there.

Well, it’s snowing here today. Not a ton, but a good white dusting on everything. That combined with the Christmas music on the radio, it’s just great. I just wish I didn’t have to work so I could be at home all cozy looking at the snow through the window. I also wouldn’t mind being at home considering I have a huge headache. I accidentally head butted the kitchen cabinet door at home this morning and I have a nice  bump on my forehead.

Snow? what is snow? I am so jealous Alyssa. Here in Louisiana we sometimes are blessed with a thin sheet of wet illness inucing ice, but the powdery white snowman making stuff is something we only get to watch on Christmas specials. I remember Christmas 2004, it actually “snowed” here-by snow I mean everything got covered with thick ice chips and I know of at least three automobile accidents that occurred that day, but damned if everyone in town didn’t lose their fricking minds with glee.It was a happy Christmas Day.
