I got a gingerbread jar candle at Target and now my room smells like a gingerbread house’s bedroom.  Awesome!

OH YEAH!!!

I’ve eaten BW3s two nights in a row now, is that bad?

Ghosted by sfcfb @ 11/08/2008 9:13 PM EST

I guess I’m turning into Ebenezer Scrooge or something. It takes me longer and longer to get into the Christmas spirit each year.

Can’t wait for the christmas layout

My wife bought a Christmas coffee at Starbucks today … and I saw a KMart layaway commercial. Guess it’s that time. Ho ho ho, I’m hu-hu-hungry…

Already!?  I miss Halloween :(  Matt gets into Christmas before the big day (Halloween) even hits.  It’s discouraging, to say the least.  That said, bring on the Christmas countdown.

I got Gingerbread Poptarts, Eggnog, and Ultimate Marshmallow Hot Chocolate Packs today. I am blaring Manheim Steamroller.

I started the music and specials November 1st. Christmas is the perfect antidote to post-Halloween depression.

I forgot to mention that I’ll be watching the Star Wars Holiday Special tonight as well!

I had a great day today. Had lunch at Red Robin, got some fudge from Scheels, some graphic novels from B&N, and bought a whole lot of wrestling DVD’s (along with THX-1138 for about 5 bucks) from FYE and the Half-Price Bookstore.

Vincent: Already?!! I’m much better this year than usually.  I’ve been too busy to even see what’s out there yet.  Looking forward to that. :)

Ghosted by Matt @ 11/08/2008 9:34 PM EST

I also saw Madagascar 2 today. Good movie.

Ghosted by JLAJRC @ 11/08/2008 9:35 PM EST

Also a crazy week here. Also need light bulbs. I’ve been dipping a toe into the holiday spirit. I’ve watched a couple of Christmas specials; did a few Rankin-Bass specials on Thursday and The Care Bears Nutcracker this morning. I ran my first Christmas record of the year, a kids’ adaptation of A Christmas Carol, this evening during dinner. I haven’t been looking at much else, either. I’m really broke right now.

i can’t even think about christmas until the week after thanksgiving.   even though i love the oldschool decorations and the 99c store junk it gets to be overkill by early december if i don’t just ignore it until then…

Whooo! SNT!

Ghosted by Hazard @ 11/08/2008 10:13 PM EST

JLARC–THX-113 or whatever its called…omg soooooooo creepy. The silver naked lady dancing on the screen gives me nightmares.

meh…i’m more into taking holidays one at a time.  Right now the focus is on Thanksgiving.  Black Friday is when I will get the christmas spirit.  or the week of Thanks giving.

I hate when the malls already have santa claus!  My mom told me the local mall welcomed santa on November 1st.  Now is it just me, or didn’t santa usually arrive the day AFTER Thanksgiving and NOT day after Halloween? ugh….that is so so so so so disgusting! It’s like I haven’t go the taste of Halloween candy out of my mouth yet, and frikkin i’m forced to see christmas stuff already!!!!

I know it’s still a few weeks away, but are you still planning to do another Macy’s Parade review this year? Will it be an actual article, or will you just wuss out and post it in the blog?

Ghosted by Cartman @ 11/08/2008 10:50 PM EST

No sfcfb, it’s not..and it’s awesome to hear someone refer to it as “BW3s”; haven’t heard that in years….

My town is already putting up Christmas deco around, but I guess it’s getting closer than it feels….

Happy SNT, all…and ROLL TIDE!

Ghosted by Shuanfu @ 11/08/2008 10:52 PM EST

Mmmmm Christmas.  My goal is to haul out some boxes next weekend.

Ghosted by kb @ 11/08/2008 10:54 PM EST

Cartman: Wussing out with a blog post wouldn’t work if I review a parade, have no fear.  But def. have a fear as to whether I can find a parade worth reviewing.  :)   Either way, a few new “real” articles are coming.

My boyfriend made me go to Toys R Us today because he insisted they were giving away Pokemon. I didn’t believe him, but we went anyway…. there we were in the middle of the video game section with our DSes turned on ready to receive our gifts via WiFi and it totally worked and we left with level 50 Dragonites. It was the dorkiest thing I’ve done in a while.

I haven’t seen Madagascar 2 yet. I will. Well, Christmas is coming early for me. I’ve already mentioned it, I’ve been invited to go to Walt Disney
World next month. I’m riding Space Mountain to honor Sophia Petrillo.
I would love to put one of those inflatable snowglobes for the outside
of my house, the problem is, some jerks have been robbing Holiday
decorations all over town, and We won’t give them the satisfaction.
I’m hoping to decorate the trees in my yard with LED lights.  If I see
Santa at my local shopping mall, I’m asking for a Cobra Rattler. :) .

Merry Saturday night everyone.  I had a holiday dinner at EnP in preparation for the Thanksgiving-that-will-be-Christmas with my husband’s family.  For the first time ever, we’ll have our Christmas shopping done before December, and we’ll even have had Christmas itself with them.
My side of the family is normal though.

I was thinking of putting in some Thanksgiving specials, but it’s getting late and I have workchurch tomorrow.  Gobblegobble.

Ghosted by Jessica Marie @ 11/08/2008 11:54 PM EST

Man I got some “sugar cookie eggnog”? Stuff is AWESOME

Ghosted by Eddie Lightning Frog @ 11/09/2008 12:05 AM EST

Great job on the Halloween Countdown. But I hope you haven’t burned yourself out before Christmas.

Ghosted by jhnnywalkr @ 11/09/2008 12:13 AM EST

Ahoy, all.

Anyone got any good suggestions for Thanksgiving specials?  I’ve got Garfield, Peanuts, and the MST3K Thanksgiving episode, but other than that I’m kinda dry.

Hey!  I just wrote my first conversation topic!  Yarr Harr!

Ghosted by Captain Will @ 11/09/2008 12:18 AM EST

jhnnywalkr: Thanks. :)   No such thing as Christmas burnout, thankfully.  And cleared my work sked for the month of December.  So, this month will be a bit rough, but next month should be smooth sailing.

Will: Garfield and Snoopy are my dynamic duo as far as TG goes.  What more do you need?

Ghosted by Matt @ 11/09/2008 12:23 AM EST

Gotta agree with Matt – not only does Tgiving not have much, but the specials it does have are all ya need. Tough to beat really.

Ghosted by Terror Claws @ 11/09/2008 12:39 AM EST

Matt:  I started a new tradition this year with Halloween.  I found just about every Halloween special I could on the internet, and then tried to watch one at least once a day leading up to the 31st, saving Peanuts and Garfield (both of which I own) for the very last, because they’re my favorites.  I’m trying to do the same thing for Thanksgiving, but I fully agree that it just isn’t a proper holiday without Snoopy and Garfield.

However, it seems that Christmas will be no challenge at all, I already know plenty of specials to get me through the month, and while I was at Target yesterday, I found even more!  Between that and the AC, I’m set for my Holly Jollies.

Ghosted by Captain Will @ 11/09/2008 12:43 AM EST

Happy SNT! No Christmas for me yet. I have a strict rule of no Xmas before tg. After Thanksgiving we can party ’till jan 6th though!

I did see Santa at the mall today though. Seems way to early for that! I steered clear of the man. After all the shit on the advent calendar, I don’t trust him.

Ghosted by Cameron T @ 11/09/2008 12:53 AM EST

Well, was he all charred, CameronT?  If not he should be all right.  But still, I’d also rather let Xmas wait till after Thanksgiving.

Gonna have to back out of my offer to battle on brawl tonight. I’d like to, but I just realized a few minutes ago that I haven’t configured my WiFi connection on my new system yet. Sorry. I’ll get it up eventually though. Of that i’m sure! Lookin forward to Thanksgiving this year. Plan on having some new food, along with all the classics.

Captain Will- King of The Hill has two good Thanksgiving episodes. The one where Hank and his family and friends are all stuck at the airport.  The other one takes place after Nancy ends her affair with John Redcorn. A Friends Thanksgiving episode marathon. They had
good Thanksgiving episodes. Or The Married With Children episode where Kelly tries to save a turkey, only to find out that turkey’s can’t fly. And they cook it. I don’t remember if they lose the turkey to
the dog.

Lonestar76 That is really cool!  Especially because I have another online friend that is going this week!  He calls me every Thursday and I am missing two Thursday calls because of it.  Eh, it’s worth it.

(I just posted this in the old thread, sigh)

Mandy_Reeves Puppies!  That reminds me I found a site a couple days ago that is like ustream.tv it’s called justin.tv there are some channels on it like ustream but it also has other channels that play movies and tv shows like there is a channel that plays the office.  Also a mystery science theater channel, horror movie, all sorts of movie channels.  They sometimes have a schedule sometimes not.  It sounds like a great idea for us.
To have an X-E channel!  Then on SNT we can have a scheduled movie.  I could cue up a channel that plays the same movie over and over again or two movies that are over and over or more.  I watched the shining 3 times earlier this week back to back on the horror movie channel talking to a group of people.  You can also go full screen and ignore the chat.  Matt can post a chat log on here so people that miss it can still read the dialogue.  I think it’s a great idea but I can see why Matt wouldn’t like it and other people.
Tonight I am playing around with djing software called virtual dj trying to wrap my head around it until SNL, I am going to watch that and catch up on the DVR’d stuff I have to watch.  I am wanting to do my first mix with it but I don’t know how much it will suck.   I don’t want to put my pride and glory on youtube and then have it totally and utterly suck.  But for a first timer (I have been playing around with it for a couple of months, but this is the first time I am going to finalize and record a song) it will probably really be bad but good for a learning experience.
Oh yeah I started this last couple weeks kind of half assed applying to jobs.  I am applying to receptionist, data entry types of jobs and also babysitting jobs.  Woot?

The wife and I went out today and saw all types of Christmas goodness on the store shelves today.  Granted it seems a little to early but after my birthday next weekend, I’ll be ready to kick off the Christmas festivities.  However, before that, Matt is there any chance we get a patented Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade review?

Wow, only like three weeks until Thanksgiving, the infamous DeepDiscount DVD sale is in full gear (25% off almost every DVD with the code word), and Black Friday ads starting to get leaked.  It’s almost time people!  Happy SNT all!

I think Thanksgiving should be givin it’s time to shine , before we move on to Christmas. Trust me, Christmas will be here ALL TOO SOON!

Agreed? Agreed.

Ghosted by Hazard @ 11/09/2008 2:10 AM EST

Okay Ultraman, let’s do it. I love seeing the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade in the morning. I hope I wake up early enough to see it. I
remember seeing Lillian Garcia sang on a parade float. She’s my
favorite WWE Diva. I also remember Captain Planet being in the
parade once. I also remember a performance by Japanese rock group
Puffy AmiYumi.

Happy SNT everyone!

We are hauling out some of our Christmas decorations already. Mainly just putting summer clothes away and doing some re-organization, so why not go ahead and get the Christmas stuff whle we’re at it? Also a good way to see where I can fill in some knick-knack gaps. I won’t put anything up for another week or so. I like to have all my decorating done by Thanksgiving so I can enjoy it for a  good month or so and so that we have time to help those we help with their decorating (the husband’s g-parents).

I haven’t found much cool after-Halloween stuff, though I did see a spider-web patterned tablecloth today that I might go back and get…. 75% off!

I am also doing SNL during SNT…it’s funny, but the people here on SNT actually got me watching SNL again for the first time in at least 5 years.  I am really enjoying this season.  :)

Went to Wal-Mart last night.  Now that I live in the middle of nowhere, going to Wal-Mart involved an hour long drive to the next province.  Still, it was worth it as the entire place was all Xmas-y.  Music playing, Santas everywhere, and I bought some really pretty tree ornaments.  I am ready – bring it on!

(we Canadians are already done with Thanksgiving, so I am all about the Xmas now)

Ghosted by Muppet Baby @ 11/09/2008 2:39 AM EST

Halloween was hella fun, especially celebrating on Frenchmen Street in New Orleans.  (See pics on my web page.)  Unfortunately, I’m paying for it all with a cold/flu that doesn’t seem to be going away.

That said, I feel the actual celebration of Christmas, i.e. breaking out the decorations and carols, is too early.  That’s best saved for right around Thanksgiving, and especially after.  However, my friends, family, and I are already Christmas shopping.  I don’t think you can EVER start too early on that except with young kids, because their tastes change so quickly.  But yeah, seeing K-Mart reinstate layaway brings back as much memories as looking through Matt’s ‘85 Wish Book.  I think I was brazen enough to ask Mom why there were no presents in the closet.  “‘Cause Santa’s holding them at the store.”

Ghosted by Jeremy Whatsisface @ 11/09/2008 2:45 AM EST

Ah, Muppet Baby, just noticed your post!  In your case, by all means, break out the Jones sodas and bring on the Christmas!

Happy SNT! I saw the Trans Siberian Ochestra today, went to Target and picked up The Santa Claus 1-, TSO cd, and Christmas decorations. Might start decorating tomorrow. Tired. Made wish list.
