Ugh, there is something in the damn air tonight. Let's make this an all-night happy party thread. Frig this, I'm getting the Summer Jukebox ready. Only Bobby Rydell can save us now.
To anyone whose AC can’t keep up with the heat: I feel your pain. Boy do I ever. Every day this summer, it’s been 80 degrees in here.

Annette: Wow, that sucks! Sorry, you got to deal with that. We have an AC, but we pretty much only use it occasionally on weekends. During the week we open all the windows and turn on some fans. It does the trick. I actually woke up cold last night.
matt in brooklyn: wow, thank you for that link, i think it’s safe to say the work day is officially compromised

Tomorrow will break a new record here for most consecutive days in the 90s. It will be at 18 days in a row, and supposed to be possibly 100 the next four days. I blame the vegitarians. If they only ate more cows we would have less methane gas in the air and this global warming issue would be stopped. Damn you hippies.

Thankfully, it’s been dry here instead of really humid like usual, so it’s been tolerable, but I still don’t like how it’s hotter at night. That makes no sense to me.
It actually didn’t get up into the 100s until this past week or so. That’s pretty good for Oklahoma; we’ve seen summers where it started heating up into the 90s in May and was in the 100s just about every day.
And now on a totally different topic: anyone remember that movie Pete’s Dragon?

Jess, and others interested in MST3K shorts: There is actually a DVD released called “Mr. B’s Lost Shorts” that has 5 different shorts on it as well. Click my name to go to the entry in Netflix.

Dear matt in brooklyn,
I love you.
Yours Truly,

Sorry to DP, my first post didn’t show up…
Jess et al: Click my name to go to Netflix with an MST3K DVD that has 5 different PSA shorts on it (Mr. B’s Lost Shorts if you wanna look elsewhere).
Also, I gotta suggest a book to people. It’s called “Slimetime” and is full of information about different pre 90′s “bad” movies. Definitely worth the read, it’s added quite a few new movies into my queue…

Ok, hmmm… I think the posting thing hates me, this is try three.
Also I’ve got to suggest checking out the book “Slimetime”; it’s a pretty good guide to low grade movies, and has added quite a few new movies into my queue…

Beckner:
Oh. My. God. There is seriously going to be a DOCUMENTARY about the Rock-a-Fire Explosion and Showbiz?
I want to talk to some of my connections in the local film industry to see if they can get it to play at the next New Orleans Film Festival. I HAVE to see this! I still have my Mitzi mug somewhere…the image of her dormant, stripped robot body was strangely sad.
I’m still lurking around here. As always, enjoying the site. Have you checked out the low quality trailer for the new Friday the 13th yet? Pretty cool. The last shot looks promising.

Annette, sadly, my biggest memories of Pete’s Dragon were a) the float of Elliott the dragon at the Main Street Electrical Parade, and thinking how lucky the kid playing Pete was, and b) my dad taping a football game over my copy of it. And come on, was it worth it? The N.O. Saints were the shittiest team back then…
Annette I LOVED Pete’s Dragon as a kid! I think I still have it recorded somewhere. Mickey Rooney MADE that movie!

tigerfan and lsudude, GO DAWGS!
kb, that’s what’s wrong with kids today…daggum Spongebob…these kids today, with their baggy jeans and their MC Hammer, I tell you…
Finally, 80 degrees? You Yankees make me laugh. It’s in the 90s here in Georgia and I know it’s hotter elsewhere. I’m glad I’m saved, because I can’t imagine Hell being hotter than this…and you just KNOW it’s going to be humid!

You know, we had some hot days here in the UK too, it was 80-90F in my office on Monday. So nice, and then I got drenched with rain walking home…cos it’s still the UK after all.
Oh, and I live in Weston. It was a bad kind of extra heat Monday.

We just had an earthquake here in Los Angeles. I hate them.
Yeah, it was quite an earthquake over here. It wasn’t violently shaking, but it sure lasted a while. There doesn’t seem to be much of anything in terms of damage or injuries.
Chestnuts roasted by Hoverbored @ 07/29/2008 3:20 PM
Yeah, no real damages. Most buildings here are made to sway with the quake to avoid any real damage. And I still have to be at work another hour…blah.
Whoa! Sorry to hear about that quake DC. At least your ok though. =) Man, I just keep wanting Halloween more and more everyday. =)

Speaking of Halloween, I just found out The Goo Goo Dolls did the music for Nightmare On Elm Street: Freddy’s Dead. And it’s not such a bad song. I mean they are no Dokken but I like it.
Since we’re talking Halloween here, I saw a kick-ass “It’s the Great Pumpkin Charlie Brown” yard decoration. It has Charlie, Snoopy, Sally, and Linus in the pumpkin patch and lights up with white X-mas lights. It’s pretty much the greatest decoration man has ever devised.
