I said this to a friend the other day, "I just ate cereal with a fork that had a sticker from a plum on the back of it."
For some reason he said it was the most random thing he'd heard all day.

I have it on good authority that Dark Knight is almost as cool as Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles 2: The Secret of the Ooze. Doesn't win out because it needs more ooze.
I am going to try and see Dark Knight tomorrow. There is a movie theater near my house that has 24 screens so I should probably be able to get a ticket. Hopefully I don't run into any major spoilers before then.

saw Dark Knight opening "knight" at mid"knight"
WAY better than Batman Begins, thanks in large part to the Joker. It is very long, but still a really good movie. As good or better than Iron Man for sure.
It really made me realize what a shame it is that Heath Ledger is dead. He steals the movie, defintely recomended for those on the fence.

Does anyone else have the urge to watch The Dark Knight followed by Batman and Robin? I want to because its a battle between best movie and worst movie.

I saw Dark Night yesterday at IMAX, now, tonight I am going to go and see it at the Drive In. I am half excited about the movie and half excited that I am going to the Drive In, I haven't been to one in over ten years.

I'm thinking of getting an X-box360 when the new jasper models come out. But i'm still a little on the fence, because I don't know if these new models will have a failure rate any better than the previous ones.:? From the description , it sounds like the new jaspers will be MUCH more reliable than the older ones. BUT, that isn't known to be true yet. Do any ya'll have an xbox360 ? If so , what model is it?(Falcon, launch unit etc..) and how long has it lasted ?

my husband thought it would be cool to see it at the IMAX, but i think i would just get dizzy. if i sit up too high, i feel like i could fall straight down to the bottom without hitting a single person.
last thing i saw at IMAX was about beavers.

Happy random SNT everybody!
Oooh Muppet Baby hope you enjoyed season 2. You lucky duck, the rest of us had to wait AGES for new episodes after what you've just seen. Season 2 has it's (huge) share of detractors, but those people are crazy. I mean, hello, Clancy Brown! Michelle Rodriguez throwing people in holes and Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje with his Jesus stick? That is good television right there. I got another crazy email from Octagon Global Recruiting last night, I'm hoping they're gonna let me into the Dharma Initiative at Comic-Con.
nice….type "spoiler alert" AFTER the spoiler. Thanks a bunch!

i thought The Dark Knight was terrific.. - loved it.. - extremely happy with it.. - Amy, i saw that beavers documentary as our local musuem has a giant IMAX dome theater.. - they usually chang films a couple times per year, mostly nature or animal stuff, and i've seen just about all of 'em since i first went there for one in elementary school for a field trip..
after all of the Internet pimping of it.. finally got ahold of the Freeks and Geeks DVD box set.. - i'd never seen the show.. - the wife and I watched the first episode last night and I'm already a fan.. - i had no idea Linda Cardellini was in it and have officially proclaimed her my current celeb crush.. - finally knocking out Rose McGowan who's had that crown since I saw The Doom Generation as an impressionable teen..
Review —- You're in for a treat. Freaks and Geeks is WONDERFUL. So, so good. In fact, the Dungeons & Dragons episode encouraged me to play again, which I did last night! I was a half-elf Druid.

Dude I was at the grocery store last night and saw some kids with the Batman Fruit Roll-Ups in their cart and went to go find some of my own out of jealousy… fuckers got the last box! Boo. But I did get a Batman Reese's Cup and a bootleg Ringpop thing with Batman logos on them. Still haven't seen Dark Knight yet… I know especially since it's a brontazillion degrees outside that means the movie theater is going to be packed with people I want to stab.
So yeah, spending the weekend with the boyfriend as usual. He pretty much lives with me on the weekends. I cleared out a drawer for him. Earlier today he helped me put together my Lego Imperial Dropship because I failed halfway through. Other than that we went swimming, then lunch, then I made him go to like 5 different dollar stores with me. Dollar Tree is already getting the Halloween stuff out!

excellent.. Dollar Tree makes Halloween that much more awesome.. - I got some great stuff there last year, including a ridiculous flesh-toned nylon tattoo sleeve that you put on your arm to appear like a biker or Streets of Rage 2 random thug..
Aww Man, I was the first poster here but it got deleted for some reason. Now I'm sad.
I'm waiting to see DK on Monday so I don't have to fight crowds.
How about a Batman-related survey? Who do you think are his best and worst villain? Overrated/underrated? I'm talking tv/movies/comics.
I've always been a Riddler fan. From Frank Gorshin in the 60s Batman show to the animated version. I'm loving what Paul Dini is currently doing with him in Detective. The only one I didn't care for is Jim Carey's version.
Ten-Eyed Man just plain sucks. Never been a Ventriloquist fan.

Seeing The Dark Knight at the drive in? That sounds awesome. I know I professed my love for drive ins here last summer, but can you ever really speak too much of the greatness that is the 'drive in experience'?
The drive in a few miles from my home is playing The Dark Knight (along with Hancock) this week too. I haven't seen the film yet and I am so tempted to go. I really want to watch it for the first time on an IMAX screen (as I did for Batman Begins) for the experience… but the drive in is so very tempting.
Hope you have a great time.

I'm not going to say anymore about Dark Knight that I didn't say already, but it was pretty awesome.
If and when they make a third one (and the numbers will guarantee a #3), it'll sadly be not as good as this one. It's going to be VERY hard to follow up this one.
So here's my question for this SNT: What villains have the best chance of appearing in #3? I'm calling Catwoman and/or the Riddler. Some of the other Schumachered villains like Poison Ivy and Mr. Freeze have good chances of reappearing, but very difficuly chance. Their backstories are almost as freaky as Two-Face's and such. Hell, Dark Knight farking redeemed Harvey Dent, lets see if Nolan can do some of the others justice as well.
I am the big boss of multiple areas, including this one. I took a break from x-e for a little while, because while I do remember some of my happy meal toys, who really cares what I liked. I had nothing of quality to contribute.
However, I have proof of my big bossness. Clicking on my name will result in an image of me appearing. I am going to humble myself, as it is an unflattering image to put it GENTLY, and you have to pretend that you don't know that I am violently humping a statue of a goat in this picture. Please pay careful attention to the photo title.
I love you all, X-E people. I truly do. Lets all go make out at Ecstasy Point.
i saw dark knight and it was fantastic! best movie of the summer and it is now officially a tragedy heath ledger died. who knows what other great roles he would have brought us.

Can I branch off of Batman vilians and say that out of all the comic book bad guys, the Scarecrow always scared me the most. Not sure why, think it was his mask. Probably the most harmless of all evil people but to a small child - scary.

I really do love all the ideas being tossed around for Batman. However there is one that I think has to be the natural progression for the films and it makes me giddy thinking about it. Clayface. Clayface to me is an excellent villian that would truly make for a great action film while keeping the surrealism of a dirty city with an unperfect super hero.
Hell that's just me though…

Just curious, not trying to be nosey or judgemental or anything…the pics were interesting and seeing the burning whatever that was and then the stripper lady on a goat…I kinda had to wonder what kind of thing this is…everyone is rev somebody or another in the pics…it looks kinda fun tho.

Posted by
mandy_Reeves @ 07/20/2008 12:29 AM EDT
I'm with Josh S. Clayface was the guy to go to for all morphy-type needs (and I think he could inexplicably fire metal spiky balls from his sloppy pudding hands), and he had a brutal re-birth.
He'd have to be a secondary villian. My friend and I were talking it over today, but after thinking about the old animated series all we could come up with was Man-Bat, and the fat plantation owner / sewer dweller who had alligators (and slave children……yeah). Both of those guys sucked pretty bad.

Posted by
Aaron Z @ 07/20/2008 12:30 AM EDT
Clayface would be pretty neat to see in a bat flick. Seeing him transform in and out of fights would be cool.

Posted by
ULTRAMAN @ 07/20/2008 12:43 AM EDT
I'm just hoping they hold off on Robin as long as possible. Since the Dark Knight can't seem to get any darker i'm hoping they lighten up a bit in the next one and sort of go back to the basics of superhero movies. Batman kicking ass. Clayface pissed off and fucking shit up. And maybe that dude with the Mobster puppet controlling it all.

Dark Knight post! I didn't put any spoilers in it, but I thought I'd warn anyone who is trying to avoid any and all talk about the movie before seeing it.
I saw Dark Knight last night….It was SO AWESOME. I'm usually a goody-goody who loves the heroes, but I love the Joker so much now. Heath Ledger's death was terrible either way, but now I'm feeling that extra bite that I won't get to see him play this character again (or whatever else he might have done). He was so scary. I loved it.

Speaking of Batman, is anyone here a hardcore comics fan? (Perhaps that is a silly question.) I've always had a passing interest (in Batman in particular and in comics in general), and I feel like there's a comics geek somewhere inside me, but that world has always seemed so…inaccessible? In that it's so huge and I just don't know what to start with or where to get it. Anyone have any advice/recommendations? Lolz I'm such a n00b but you gotta start somewhere, and I think it's way past due for me!

Leigha: If you're here, what was your post a few weeks ago about? And thank you for the belated birthday.
Matt: If you ever need a new Gizmo pillow to replace that one, just hit me up. haha
And for those of you who have been with me on my Halloween freak out over the last few years, it came early this year. I already have a few decorations up and the music is blaring. Wooooo!
JLAJRC: My favorite Batman characters were always the Riddler (especially Frank Gorshin and I thought Jim Carrey was a great choice, though a little over the top) and Harlequin (because I'm a girl and girl villains ROCK, even if they're not all that villain-y). Catwoman and Poison Ivy were cool, too, but something about the "harlequin" theme was just smack fuckin' awesome to me.
By the way, we're going to see it tomorrow, so PLEASE NO SPOILERSSSSSS!
Nice brawling you Ultra. I HATE METAKNIGHT.

3.Bane
4.Two-Face
5.Clayface

Shockwave is WAYYY stronger than soundwave if yur going by the comics. Plus he's VERY logical. He would probably have about 7 plans ready to go on how to win, before Soundwave could even think up one. Not sayin soundwaves stupid, just sayin Shockwave is smarter.

Time for a random SNT from Yours Truly. Going to see Dark Knight today at an early show. Just to be safe, I reserved my ticket off of Fandango even though I almost never have to worry because shows hardly ever sell out in the area (I did the same thing with Indy 4 even though the theater was hardly half full at the show I went to). Anyway, doing laundry now, have Boomerang on because Smurfs was on earlier and Wacky Races is about to start. Other than that, nothing new in my parts. Just wanted to let you know what was going on with me. End of post.

Mandy_Reeves,
I'm not pagan or wiccan, although I could see how you might think so - I didn't think anyone would look at the other pics!
I'm a SubGenius Reverend (click link in name at your own risk) and those are pics from our annual end of the world celebration. I won an award this year for Big Boss of That Area, and since it is a globally recognized organization, I feel pretty qualified to be the Big Boss of this area as well!
I just wanted to say a couple of nights ago I watched Lost boys the tribe which is the sequel to the classic The Lost Boys. It was a direct to DVD release which is a clue of how bad a movie will be and I didn't like it. I'm going to keep the copy I have (on my hard drive) but ugh. I wouldn't suggest renting it or going out of your way to see it. It was like a bad imitation but instead of having a guy it is a girl.

Bluejay: These are the Batman comics everyone agrees you need to read.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
Batman: The Killing Joke
Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman: Dark Victory
Batman: Year One (although I've never been fond of this one)
Batman: Knightfall/Knightquest/Knightsend trilogy
There's also trilogy that's a personal favorite: Batman vs. Dracula
Red Rain
I can't remember the third one though. But it also deals with Batman/vampires.

If you want to contact me and don't want to swarm this thread with numbers then click on my blog and contact me that way. I have my youtube link on my blog so you can (if you are registered with youtube) privately email me that way. Or just leave comments on my blog. I am going to go search for Matt's number even though I know how it works he needs mine too yadda yadda lol. I almost didn't find it and then I did lol. The photo album thing looks fun I read about it in the manual (I didn't know how to look up the mac address and my best friend has the internet set up so the router needs to have your mac address in order for you to go on the internet) and that is so neat you can edit pictures. We have a fancy DVR we are renting from comcast you can put in a thumb drive or a card reader in the front of it and look at your pictures in a slideshow on your tv so I just thought it was like that. I like our DVR it also has quite a few video games like breakout, pong, and casino games.
BTW my favorite wiisports game is tennis. I picked up on it right away and that is the one I am the best at but it being fun at the same time. Everytime I play boxing I am winded! I need to get into better shape. Even I admit that is pretty pathetic. My least favorite is bowling. That is the one I picked up on the slowest. Anyway have a good day and night everybody I have to get to bed.

My brother in Chicago saw the Dark Knight at midnight on Friday. He says that the film was good but he thinks it was about thirty minutes longer than it should have been. This really brings up a good point in that lots of these big films have been incredibly long in recent years (2.5+ hours). I thought Superman Returns would have been good enough at 90 minutes, but no. Do directors know when to stop?

Saw Dark Knight yesterday and thought that it lived up to the hype. I have to admit that I was surprised as the theatre near me is usually fairly easy to get into, but it was packed for the Thursday midnight showing and the Friday night showings - which is pretty unheard of in my area.
Like Mystie, I did see that my local Dollar Tree started putting out Halloween and Thanksgiving stuff out already. It's hard to believe it's almost that time again - although it is almost August.
Well, since the Pirates are getting shellacked, I'm off to watch Dr. Who. For those in the know, Rose is back!

Well I've seen DArk Knight. To be honest, I'm kind of at a loss for words since I'm still trying to take it all in. I thought it got off to a good start but as time went on, got a bit confusing. I didn't care for the ending that much, and I'm sure I'm probably in the minority about it. Also, it seems to me that everyone was talking way too much, especially Batman. I'm so used to having him in the shadows not really saying anything and just doing his thing which is play with his Bat toys and beat the living shit out of the bad guys. Heath Ledger's Joker? Very convincing and definetly stole the show especially in his first two major scenes.
Anyway, I don't know what I'm going to do after next weekend because there really isn't any movie coming out in August that has my interest. Next weekend is the new X-Files movie but after that, I may have to take a break from the movies until something peaks my interest come Fall. Anyway, that's all from me for right now. Oh yeah, Cubs won (FINALLY), Rangers won (1-0 against the Twins) and the White Sox just lost to of all teams, KC!!!! Okay, now I'm finished.

The Dark Knight was better than yo mommas. All yo mommas combined.
Bluejay: These are the Batman comics everyone agrees you need to read.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns
Batman: The Killing Joke
Batman: The Long Halloween
Batman: Dark Victory
Batman: Year One (although I've never been fond of this one)
Batman: Knightfall/Knightquest/Knightsend trilogy
Long Halloween and half of Dark Victory are the only ones I can really recommend. Knightfall is okay.
Okay I take that back a little bit. Read Year One, but don't read the Batman part. Just read it as James Gordon year one.
Matt did you remove my first post with the obviously fake Batman Spoiler in it? Just curious because I said I was joking a mere 4 or five post later, I mean no one would believe the Joker was a women. Sheesh I'm reserving my Judgment to see if you did this. I mean hell your site your rules, I'll probably even still read your blog because the content rocks. But I feel like I misjudged the fun rakeish nature of this site and community. Treated like some common Internet Troll.

Wow.. doho that was totally uncalled for.
I mean you don't even know my momma.

Mortalwind: Honestly I didn't read the spoiler, I just noticed that someone said you posted one and deleted it. But this happened before you said you were joking.
No offense was meant.

Is it bad that I think The Dark Knight is kinda better than my own mother?

Was at a Toys R Us for the first time in awhile over the weekend, and saw a sign that says they are doing their "Midnight Madness" for the SW Clone Wars toys. Looks like they'll have an exclusive Holographic General Grievous figure.
I don't know, I just can't get hyped about this movie. Anybody else feel the same way? Seen the trailer a couple times and will probably just rent it.
I am looking forward to those Happy Meal toys, though.

Jon - I don't think you'll need to rent it as this should be used to kickoff the Clone Wars animated series that will be running on Cartoon Network and TNT come this fall.

Matt It's cool man I just said the joker turns out to be a women and was pissed that the ending was a rip off of the crying game and then said spoiler alert at the bottom of the post, It struck me as wickedly funny, anyway I'll dry my tears and continue to enjoy X-Entertainment

Actually, that is pretty funny and I apologize for deleting it.
I had to jet out and wasn't paying close enough attention. Tried to be really careful this weekend since most people would've declared world on Planet Earth if they actually had the movie spoiled.

Here's a spoiler for you Matt.
Yo Mamma.
hmmm….Matt you should try to review Japanese food for a week or something….like import some Roast Turkey Pringles and Chocolate Cheetos and Blue Hawiia Pepsi. Or instead of import try to find like a oriental grocery in the area.

Ok,do I just suck that bad at Smash Bros,or are you that good,Matt?
Of course it doesn't help that we were on that Gamecube Zelda stage that I fucking hate.
I popped back on a couple minutes later but you were allready off. I understand we aren't allowed to talk to each other on there because of pedophiles or whatnot, but it would be nice if it had a "cig break" announcement or something you could put up.

I have two XBox 360s… one is a semi-launch unit, the other is the Black one with the larger hard drive bought early 07.
Neither have failed me, both still work just as they did out of the box.
Unlike my Wii which has gone back to Nintendo once already.

Review the World, if you are around, I caught your link about Real Ghostbusters coming to DVD in the Gremlins thread. In an odd bit of trivia the guy producing the 25 disc set is Andy Mangels; who also produced all of the Filmation series released on DVD including… both the live-action and animated Ghostbusters! Plus, he is now writing the memoir of Filmation founder, Lou Scheimer, so I wonder if Lou will be an easter egg in the Real boxset to explain why Filmation and Columbia could not agree on a animation deal.

Lou explains the competing animated Ghostbusters confusion:

Another bit of almost trivia Matt actually covered in his interview with J. Michael Straczynski for ToyFare, is that JMS and Larry DiTillio left Filmation for DiC, and soon after started working on Real Ghostbusters. What would have Filmation's animated Ghostbusters been like if JMS had stuck with Lou & Co. and helped develop that series instead of the Real version?

magic Toy-The drive in was great, and so was the movie. I wanted to see it again, just because it was so much at once. but I think it worked, as opposed to being too slow. Also, i am not much of a comic reader and really don't know much about batman, so there were things that could have been considered common knowledge to many, that I did not get the first time.
