My dying wish is for an owl/camel hybrid, which I call camowl.

Ch ch ch ah ah ah.

It's Friday the 13th! It's ten thousand degrees out, but it's still Friday the 13th! Though the collective attention of everyone seems to be focused on that The Happening movie, I dare declare that M. Night Shablahblahyaha's FIRST R-RATED MOVIE, FIRST R-RATED MOVIE EVER, HOLY FLAMING TABLES, FIRST R-RATED MOVIE IN THE HISTORY OF M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN, IT'S M. NIGHT'S FIRST FORAY INTO R-RATED MOTION PICTURE MAKING, IT'S

M. NIGHT SHYAMALAN'S FIRST R-RATED MOVIE

Ah fuck that and fuck M. Night Shyamalan. Friday the 13th will always belong to Jason Voorhees. Camp Crystal Lake's number one son isn't one for abject chatting, but I wouldn't be surprised if he broke his silence with a bloody, obscenity-laced tirade about how the world completely neglected to kiss his feet on this, his most holy day. Seriously, I just went through the TV listings, and there isn't a single F13 movie being played on any channel tonight. Not even a shitty channel. I could watch seventy-four episodes of Everybody Loves Raymond, but no Jason. On Friday the God Damned 13th. Criminal. Criminal, cock-like behavior from those responsible.

In lieu of watching Jason tear apart happy campers, I provide consolation in the form of a Matchbox car with a thirty-seven foot Jason Voorhees attacking it.

From Matchbox's 1999 Character Car Collection, it's the Friday the 13th...uh, character car. Basically, Matchbox took a varied and surprising bunch of movies (everything from A Nightmare On Elm Street to The Mask), and celebrated them with movie-themed Matchbox cars topped with movie-themed PVC-style figurines. And thus we now know the definitive halfway point between stupid and awesome.

The results were largely ridiculous, but on a night when I can't even persuade AMC to show me the cut-down version of the famous scene from F13 Part V where the Michael Jackson knockoff sings a duet with his girlfriend while shitting in an outhouse, I'll take what I can get.

The toy provides an unintended montage of Jason's many movies. The package photo depicts him as he was seen in Jason Goes To Hell, but the figure shown above was clearly inspired by Jason's appearance in Friday the 13th: Part 3. I understand that this is of little consequence to you, but I didn't feel right not pointing it out. Furthering the issue is the fact that a Part 3 Jason is shown attacking a "Camp Counselor" truck, even though there were no counselors in that movie. Okay, now I'm just being a brat.

I was saddened to find out that Jason is permanently attached to the Matchbox car, but I suppose it's for the best considering that he wasn't constructed to stand upright without it. All told, I'm kind of glad to own this thing, though I'm not sure why I do or how it even got into my office. Maybe I'm just blocking out the memory of paying 15 bucks on eBay to have a forty-cent Matchbox car mailed to me via USPS Priority Mail.

Happy Friday the 13th. Pop in the DVDs if you have 'em. Check out X-E's old-to-older collection of Jason-related articles with the conveniently underlined links below:

I wish it was 40 degrees. I just gave the sun the finger.

Ah, there’s something about quiet Saturday mornings that I just love. It’s thundering out and there are some birds chirping, but other than that…peace.

I don’t really see the early morning hours very much because my fiance almost always works til 11PM, so I’m usually up til 1 or 2 in the morning with him. Yesterday and today he had to go in at 7AM, though, so I’ve gotten up early with him.

Last night, we went to bed at EIGHT. I think that’s a new all-time record for me. I woke up about 87 times during the night but that’s not really anything out of the ordinary. So that’s why I’ve been up for the past hour and a half or so.

Annette
Yeah, I love quiet lazy Saturday mornings, too.

Of course, I currently have no job so every morning is pretty much Saturday morning…but there’s still something about Saturday morning that’s different. Better somehow.

Also…send those thunderstorms down to Texas, please, I’m tired of the heat.

I still can’t get over how awesome WALL•E is. I bought the soundtrack last night. Actually, I bought it the second I got home from iTunes. If I wasn’t broke I’d probably be buying every WALL•E and Eve toy I could get my hands on.

I agree about Mega Man 9,I’ll be getting it once it comes out.
Speaking of stuff they showed in that magazine though,am I the only one in the whole world who cares about this Castlevania fighting game? I’m really looking forward to it,it looks like a cool idea. Plus it’s going to have the oldschool Simon Belmont!

I almost forgot, all you guys taling about level editors should google around for this new DS game coming out called Bangai-O Spirits. It’s a 2D game with like 160 levels, and you can edit or make levels from scratch, and trade levels online.

*whistles* It’s break time! Just gonna get myself a nice, cold drink. Put some ice in my glass and fill it up with some of my reserve Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash. *puts mostly empty ice cube trays back in freezer, whistles some more* hehehe

some reason at home i couldn’t check the comments out on this thread any more.. – but, the new kitten i mentioned us getting the other night is doing well, in fact.. i started her own website titled Adventures of Tomo to chronicle her cuteness..

Perhaps I should post the list of rules and infractions in the break room for everyone to see. They would feature such things as:

-Hoarding reserves of Sierra Mist Cranberry Splash and not sharing it with fellow coworkers

PUNISHMENT: Being forced to reinact bad episodes of early seasons of Rosanne in front of everyone. But, you can only play either DJ or First Becky, back when she got that shitty, short bob haircut. Oh, and you have to cut your hair that way.

-Not refilling the ice trays

PUNISHMENT: “Bub” in the mailroom hasn’t eaten in a while. Oh, and we installed an implant in him that restores his sex drive, so he might be looking to get friendly. Whether that’s before or after he eats your brains is up to him.

I’m not messing around on that ice tray thing.

Got the Christmas jukebox going for some reason.

I am worried that Matt is going to have his way with us in a very rough manner on July 1st. I mean, he’s been pinned up for so long, it’s only natural to be a little…backed up.

Chestnuts roasted by The Manimal @ 06/28/2008 2:01 PM

sooooo…..discovered someone on Youtube who posted the entire 2 seasons of Freaks and Geeks. I been watching all morning. They remind me of the kids who used to babysit me and my brother back in 81-82. The dungeons and dragons episode reminds me of the stories my husband and his friends tell me about them growing up. That show makes me feel so happy and warm and snuggly….like familiar.

i’m with DJ D.. you’ve got to share your obscure beverage reserves! – i mean.. come on! – don’t worry, i have some vintage selections to share, too.. – including Pepsi Holiday Spice and Luigi Berry Shasta soda in a cute miniature can..

Chestnuts roasted by Review the World @ 06/28/2008 2:16 PM

Kid Nicky: i hadn’t heard about the Castlevania fighting game.. – sounds interesting.. – i think they should put the version of Simon Belmont from the Captain N: The Game Master cartoon in it.. – maybe as a hidden character.. – now that’d be obscure!

:-( I am sad that my post consisting of some of my fave albums did not actually surface…I clicked submit and nothing appeared but when i clicked back to try to submit it again I got the “this was already submitted message.” The blog hates the ‘sauce….

Chestnuts roasted by phunqsauce @ 06/28/2008 2:30 PM

Wow, 1342 comments. Is that a record? Really, no offense, Matt.

Chestnuts roasted by The Real Andrew @ 06/28/2008 3:29 PM

Really, I know Matt can’t always be right on schedule, so I didn’t mean any harm at all in the above quote. Heh, I just read the ire stirred up by the fake Cameron.

So what’s everyone doing on the 4th? My family’s gonna have a bunch of friends over for a BBQ, my brother’s gonna come down (just before jetting off to Hawaii for his roomate’s wedding :) ), and I’m feeling good. Ready to get wasted this coming long weekend.

Chestnuts roasted by The Real Andrew @ 06/28/2008 3:37 PM

I got no plans for the 4th right now except for the yearly Twilight Zone Marathon on SciFi….

Chestnuts roasted by Cameron T. @ 06/28/2008 3:40 PM

DJD I fell I should tell you i’m HORRIBLE about refilling ice trays.

Chestnuts roasted by ULTRAMAN @ 06/28/2008 4:20 PM

I am not, sometimes I even fill it up when there’s still ice in it.
I like my ice.

Chestnuts roasted by JoshC @ 06/28/2008 4:31 PM

ULTRAMAN, Kane is one of my favorite wrestlers. I hope ethier him or Big Show win.
Loneman1, my favorite wrestler has to be John Cena, so I’d like him to win. Batista NEEDS to rid Edge of his championship. Fun fact| My friends aunt talks to Edge & Batista a lot! Matt (go Team X-E!) should win against Chavo, Mickie James should win against Katie Lea, and the rest… idk. I hope Cody and Holly win, I guess.
My plans for the 4th are going to Portland and spend time with the fam, and watch fireworks. It’s gonna ROCK!

Chestnuts roasted by Aaron @ 06/28/2008 4:53 PM

That reminds me. My brother came up with the idea for a sequel to Cool As Ice. The idea was to cram in every bad sequel cliche imaginable. Heck, how about a survey: Try to think of a bad sequel cliche.

COMING NOT ANYTIME SOON

Cool as Ice II: Hot as Ice

Tagline: “Only a man this cool could be so hot.”

Chestnuts roasted by Hoverbored @ 06/28/2008 4:53 PM

At least one sequel should be subtitled “Electric Boogaloo”, usually the second.
