Now, do I watch the Kids Choice Awards in the hopes of catching a fifteen-second SpongeBob commercial I did, or skip? (If you're watching, listen for an indecipherable rap.)

I was gonna turn the channel as soon as Spongebob is over. The KCAs aren't appealing too much to me. Had a bit of a crummy afternoon, so I just feel like being a schlub.

Aw, Ant. Would you feel better knowing that Japan is the only place in the world where you can get cucumber-flavored Pepsi?

Oh dear God. My remote is across the room… uggghhh… this is so wrong….

I heard about that, I wonder if they still sell it. It's hard to leave your life behind though, saying bye to everyone you've ever met is rough. At least the internet (your site) will still be around.

I'm currently watching Club Dread and I wonder how many other horror flicks with a vacation theme there are? I can only think of "I still know what you did last summer".

Posted by
Kapprika @ 03/29/2008 8:23 PM EST
Technically, all of the Friday the 13th movies have a slight vacation theme–summer camp. Then there's Sleepaway Camp, etc., Cabin Fever, Evil Dead…Do you mean a specific "We're going away for a vacation" theme, or just "it's summer?"

I'm more talking about a "going away for a vacation" theme than summer, yeah.

Ant Think of it as a fresh start. These people don't know you so you don't have the shame of them knowing about your past mistakes. They see you as a new friend. But yeah Japan does suck though I have heard all they eat is noodles and rice ova there. And pork. Your nickname put a smile on my face, I visit the comedian ANT's blog daily. I love that man to death and he loves me
Anyway happy SNT everybody. I got out my dreamcast out of it's tote today and hooked it up. This morning I played it for about an hour. I played Jet Grind Radio, Crazy Taxi, and Seaman. Seaman is alive and kickin. I might delete my file off of my memory card for that game and start over. Because I beat the game years ago so now he is just a wandering frog. This morning I told him through the mike "I love you" and he said "spare me the mushy stuff" and smiled at me. God I love that frog w/ a human head

Posted by
Goob @ 03/29/2008 8:47 PM EST
Does anyone here play Banjo-Kazooie (still)? If so, do u think it's one of the best games of it's time? I do, and I beat the 1st a couple days ago. Haha, now I'm playing Banjo-Kazooie: Grunty's Revenge. Wow, so random… JOHN CENA FOR WWE CHAMP TOMORROW!!!
If you haven't allready thought of this on your own, start asking the Seaman stuff about Sony or Nintendo. Pretty funny.

I'd be more interested in ice cream if I didn't eat a slice of cake the size of Texas at work today. A couple of managers were getting transfered and I happened to be in the room when they were cutting this huge cake and I got some.
Random night for me, too. I'll probably go and play with my WebKinz for the rest of the night. Gotta keep their garden watered.

Ahhh… John Cena… *melts*
Dude, Matt, your mention of Cucumber Pepsi reminded me of something amusing. A few days ago some black guy called me "Crystal Pepsi" and I totally didn't understand why, I shrugged it off thinking it was because I'm pop culture whore. Then way later I was like, "OH MY GOD THAT'S THE WORST ANALOGY EVER!!"

I went to TARGET 3 times today. Once to pick up a wedding gift (good ceremony BTW) but I foolishly let E. Claire take her stuffed kitten in (do you see where this is going??). So, I watched it the whole 4 mins we were in there until she got into the impulse items. Got home, realized it wasn't with us, called the store, got blown off, went to the wedding, and waited for the non-call.
In a vain effort to get out of the doghouse, I went up there to investigate. Nothing. Got home and Mrs. Manimal asked if I searched the toy dept. to see if it was placed there. 48 seconds later, the 4 Manimals were in the car and back to TARGET. I alerted Customer Service and the re-stocker in the toy dept.
Well, we never found it BUT we did find a kitty for 25 cents in the Easter clearance section AND a Furr-Real toy from McDONALDS so the universe is back in balance.
On an unrelated topic that only X-Ers could appreciate, I got Allie to stop fussing the other day by playing a little "MAGIC DANCE" from LABYRINTH.
I got mixed feelings on owning LABYRINTH but it got the job done.

Ant,
I've been living in China for the past two months, and it's certainly a helluva thing to acclimate oneself to a non-western culture. Just give it time, maintain an open mind, and you'll be alright. And don't shy away from freaked-out foods, either. Half the fun of my trip has been getting exposed to cuisine that I'd never see otherwise. I can't really speak for the Japanese, but the citizens of north-central China love their fish-heads, livestock organ-meat, jellyfish tentacles, and they like it all as SPICY as they can make it! I wouldn't recommend the booze, though. I've yet to try any rice-based liquor over here that doesn't taste like vinegar. Anyway, have a safe trip and enjoy yourself! Kampai!

That stinks Matt, even though the Kid's Choice Awards have been a sack of crap since…oh about the Mid-90s, or when you realized that Rugrats always seemed to win over the Simpsons.
Also, different topic, don't you hate it when your friends plan & do something awesome and don't/refuse to tell you? And that it didn't turn out to be a surprise party?
I kinda felt that this week.
http://s11.photobucket.com/albums/a185/mandyd26/?action=view...
some pics of the puppy…also…I feel so weird tonite…like i have been eating the most random food today. first for breakfast i had a jelly donut, buttered roll and eggs and sausage….then was at my moms and had some onion and sausage pizza…then bout an hour ago I had a eggplant and roasted red pepper mozzarella panini and a frosty…and a orange drink thing….no wonder my hiatal hernia and reflux has been going nuts on me.
I love SNT…yep…sure do…oh yeah…and today like early this morning, I awoke to the stench of skunk!…some skunks decided to pee or spray around the front door and under the kitchen window of my little home. oh man it was sooooooo nasty….its still stinks

As to the horror movie question above….
Sure you can count camp movies (Friday the 13th/Sleepaway Camp) or even Cabin Fever… you can even make the case for Evil Dead 1 & 2 since they go away to the cabin.
don't forget Turistas, Barricade, Hostel…
And for the ultimate take you away from your home element see Battle Royale from Japan. An entire class of kids are kidnapped during their class field trip and forced to an island where they have 72 hours to kill one another until there is only one left. 30 death scenes = good stuff.

Rob: I LOVE Battle Royale. One of my favs. Have you seen the sequel? It's pretty great.
Another horror/vacation movie could be Mothers Day.
Although that also involves camping. Hmmm….
I just learned that Christopher Walken will be the host of next week's SNL. If my current patterns take hold I will forget to watch it.
Awesome. And yes, there will definitely be a Continental sketch. In the past 6 times he hosted, there was always one.
Although when the last time we hosted, we actually hated the French, but this time…I'm hoping for awesome.
And I apologize for missing Brawling…I just wasn't in the mood for wifi-ing tonight after work. Maybe some other time.
Went to Wal-Mart today and bought a new Dorito flavor called Sweet Spicy Chili. Also, Pringles now has new "extreme" flavors and I bought the Buffalo Wing flavor. Haven't tried either one yet, though.
On the way home Dominoes Pizza was having a Customer Appreciation Day with $3.98 medium one topping pizzas and we had that for lunch. Haven't ha Dominoes in awhile and they were pretty good. Also bought a $5 Subway footlong to have for lunch tomorrow.
Went to Target yesterday and they still had a couple of Easter aisles there, although it was just the generic candy, toys, and the expensive stuff like candy-making kits that no one wants even if it's discounted 75% off.
All I did tonight was watch I Think I Love My Wife on HBO (it was ok), then the Steve Byrne Comedy Central special, Torchwood, and the Black Cat "Masters of Horror" dvd.

Just dropping in to say I'm still alive. I think it's cute that two people emailed to check on me this week. I know I've been a bum about posting lately, but my jobs are sucking the life out of me. I come home and don't have much enthusiasm for anything. But I still love you guys and I still drop in to read every week.
mandy_Reeves: I've been eating weird food all day, too! For breakfast… er… well, I didn't eat breakfast until about 3 PM, but it was a huge plate of shrimp with different dipping sauces. Then for dinner (just now) I made a gigantic pot of tuna mac and cheese doused in herb and garlic spice.
But the question remains - do you still love Jade?

I guess everyone's gone to bed already. I'm just trying to extend the last night of my Easter break as long as I can, before school starts again tomorrow.
Had a lovely conversation with my girlfriend earlier about how she got felt up by some random sleaze at the Bruce Springsteen concert in Seattle tonight. And she was pushed *to the ground* by some middle-aged woman when she tried to get out of her seat to go to the bathroom, because she was ruining the bitch's view of The Boss for like two seconds.

SpoonyBard…I know another guy on another forum called that. Have you been using that name all this time and I never noticed? Shows how observant I am.
Anyway. This weather sucks. It's dark and humid as fuck all. I hate humidity.
Also, I say congrats on being able to move to Japan, Ant. We want to go to Japan, too, but who knows if it's in the cards or not.
By the way, they do eat more than just noodles and rice. They also eat seaweed. XD No, seriously, Japanese food is amazing if you just keep an open mind. Donburi? Hells yeah. Miso soup is also really freaking good.

Went out to the Mall of America yesterday for the heck of it. They have the new Nicktoons World done (previous camp Snoopy) I have to admit that it is pretty cool. Three completely new rides, the SpongeBob roller coaster and the Last Airbender Skateboard thingy ride are the best new additions. All the others just got new names and mascots.
I was disappointed in that they passed up the golden opportunity to call the food court area the Krusty Krabb.

Do such people exist, Norbert?
Let us hope for the sake of the world that they do not.

Knegative @ 03/31/2008 9:49 AM EST
NervousXians- I have seen the sequel but I don't like it as much as the first. The first one was great because everyone had different weapons, alliances, motivations. The second everyone has guns (far less fun than stabbing weapons) and everyone was against the government. It lacked a lot of the elements that made the first one so cool.
Knegative- My son loves Pokemon to the point of obsession. I loathe and hate it. It's a ridiculous marketing ploy that is set up off of the lame concept of creating one particular cheesy pokemon character and then changing it ever so slightly to re-package and re-sell it and with hundreds of pokemon we're talking about infinite repackagings and one giant waste of money and energy.
and I can fairly suggest that this applied to my own childhood toys as well. He-Man got ridiculous when you had regular Skeletor, Battle Armor Skeletor, Terror Claws Skeletor, Skeletor with the dragon on his back that sprayed water, etc etc etc. It gets to be stupid after awhile.
And speaking of there isn't a more stupid show on TV than Pokemon is (aside from Teletubbies and Bill O'Reilly).
All the Pokemon say is their own name… over and over.
I'm 30, I lived through and enjoyed the He-Man, Transformers, Voltron, TMNT toy fads and all of them got incredibly dumb after overreaching on product variations just to make a buck and Pokemon seems to keep going for over a decade based on the absolute worst version of this concept.
End it already. Besides the anime fad seemed to die several years ago now.

The main thing that keeps pokemon going, and the only real thing I absolutely love about it is the video games. They singlehandedly (probably spelled that wrong lol) got me interested in RPGS. Seriously. I cannot express how much I love playing the games. Catching , traning, battling theses wierd creatures, I just love it SO MUCH!!! =D

Posted by
ULTRAMAN @ 03/31/2008 1:01 PM EST
I've never played the games, but I have watched a few cartoons and been hit several times in the head with Pokemon soft toys.
Pokemon is bright, colourful and soft on the head.
It's like a plush form of a shiny object, and shiny objects are good. Plush things are also good. Pokemon, therefore, must be good.
Pokemon. Better than being hit in the head by a dull-coloured brick. Pika-pika.

Pokemans isn't my thing, but my fiance just got Diamond and is having fun with it.
Also, anime isn't really a fad…it's more like a subculture now. A very complicated, drama-ridden subculture with many sub- sub- sub-cultures. This is why I generally don't talk to other anime fans, haha. Nobody likes the same stuff anymore. At least back in 1998, EVERYBODY liked DBZ, so you could talk to people about it. XD Now if you talk about the wrong show in the wrong circles, you get lambasted. Lame.

"Pokemon is bright, colourful and soft on the head."
That's about the best review you can give to anything, as far as I know. The only descriptive which would improve upon it is if Pokemon tasted like bacon. Does pokemon taste like bacon?

Rob: I have to agree that the sequel wasn't as good. Did enjoy the fact that they had to be paired up & the set of rules that went along w/that, But the first was far superior.
And i just can't get enough of that training video. That chick is insane & i love her for it.
I just love the concept of pokemon . Catching and training wierd monsters, that have fire, electric, pyschic etc… powers to fight each other is super fun. Plus with the recent generation of games, Nintendos added alot of strategy to the game. Not that there wasn't strategy in it befor, it's just that there's alot more now. I just love Koffing and Weezing.=)

I'm glad Pokemon's still rocking.
Also, can someone give me a quick refresher course on how Wii friends are made? If I were to give out my number, would I also need to enter anyone else's number I had, or could I just let them handle that because I'm lazy?

Posted by

Anyone remember Firecons, those Transformers with like flint in them that sparked when you moved them? Now, that'd be a nifty Pikachu toy if it came out the cheeks.
Teletubbies are freaky things though, their faces are just creepy and a diet of toast and custard, man?

Guise @ 03/31/2008 6:48 PM EST

Some of them do, but not all of them. There are as many flavors and combos as there are Pokemon, it seems.
Matt-
When you log on in to the Smash Bros. online, you'll see your code. You tell us your code, then you enter in ours. So the short answer is yes,but the long answer is maybe not.
I *think* that as long as you had one person's code it will be OK,because if you have Kneg's code for example, and you go to fight him,and I'm fighting him too,all three of us will be against each other.
And Ron Poole, anime must be the longest running fad of all time, since Speed Racer was a pretty big hit in the 70's. Hardly pet rock territory.
And allthough I don't like Pokemon, your theory about them stretching it to make a buck doesn't really apply. There's FAR less iterations of Pokemon then there are, say,Madden, and the Pokemon titles usually add a lot more than the yearly roster update. If you've got a problem with sequels, then you've got a problem with the entire video game industry.

Some of them do, but not all of them. There are as many flavors and combos as there are Pokemon, it seems.
Just yesterday I was drinking a milk tasting pokemon that countered the upset stomach one of those bacon tasting pokemon gave me.

I don't have a Wii, so I believe I am all alone in my non-Smash Brothers world (at least on X-E). On the plus side though, I'm watching Opening Day baseball as the Pirates are getting beat on by the hated Braves. Here's looking forward to 16 consecutive losing seasons!

The wii is the only system I don't have. It is a shame, because I am always looking for people to beat the snot out of on playstation, or run off the road and explode on Xbox.
It is so sad that I could be eating bacon flavored pokemon and smashing things via wii instead.
No Wii here either so I have been sitting on the sidelines

Man, it's been a while. I've been really busy lately and have kind of ignored all my internet activities, but I'm back in it tonight. Why have I been busy, you ask? (Wait, you weren't asking?) Well, I'll tell you anyway…
…Cause I got promoted! I've been wanting this promotion for a while now and was getting kind of antsy cause it didn't look like it was going to happen anytime soon, but I got a call out of the blue last week with the offer. It's full time and salaried with benefits and everything, and the best part is, it's in my field and related to my degree. Plus, it's a lot more money than I was making part-timing. Now I can quit my shitty second job waiting tables. It's a little stressful cause there's loads more to learn and I've made some mistakes, but this past week was my first week and I'm catching on. Giddyup.
Norbert, Happy birthday! Congrats on your first legal drink. Good job on taking the first step in that long, illuminating journey to rehab. j/k

I am a bona-fide Wii owner, but Earth's full diameter currently rests between said device and myself. So it'll be a little while before I'll be able to join the Smash Bros. fray.
I've never played any of the Super Smash Bros. titles, though, so whenever I make it back stateside to my Wii and snag myself a copy of this game that apprently makes life worth living, you'll all probably be able to trounce me thoroughly.

If you go back into the last thread you will see that I commented on how you haven't been around lately. Glad to hear that you have been away for positive reasons though. Hopefully you can do something outrageous during your last day at the restaurant…like spit in someones food, or just be mean to the customers…that was my dream when I was a waitress. I never got to do it though, because when the winter (off-season) hit, they just stopped scheduling me (after working there for 5 YEARS!!!!), so I just found another job. Oh well though. Perhaps all angry servers can live through you vicariously …..probably not though, because you're a classy guy(at least I would like to think so). Happy tricky-day everybody! The day's not over yet, so I guess we'll have to see if Matt's promise of some groovy new post will be an April Fool's Day joke or not. After Box 23, anything's possible. Maybe we'll get sent on another wild goose chase. Speaking of which, there's some new viral marketing going on today for The Dark Knight. There's a new site up: http://www.clowntravelagency.com Go there and click on the paper poking out of the envelope and you'll get a list of what appears to be bowling alleys across the country. Too bad the closest one to me is in Atlanta, which is about 3 hours away. Apparently this is sending people on a scavenger hunt which will eventually end up on giving us a new trailer for the movie. I CAN'T WAIT FOR THIS MOVIE! I'm more excited about this than anything else coming out this year.

Oh, and Leigha, I'm trying to find a way to make my last day (next Wed) at the restaurant memorable, but I don't think I could top what we did this past Christmas. We had a slow day one day and got on to the topic of how far you could possibly kick a baby. I mean, sitting on the top of your foot, after you've gotten a good swing and follow through, how far could you punt the thing? Somehow we came up with an average weight of 6 pounds for what this kid would weigh. Well, we were standing at the counter and about 10 feet in front of us was the front door and next to that was a Christmas tree. Someone said they could make it to the tree and probably out the front window of the front door. We started seriously debating it and finally decided it had to be resolved. A guy went back to the kitchen and disappeared for a while. We were wondering what he was doing when he suddenly emerged from the kitchen with 6 pounds of pizza dough (it's an Italian restaurant) wrapped up tightly in plastic. Well, that sealed it (no pun intended). We all took turns kicking the baby across the restaurant to see if we could hit the Christmas tree (By the way, I'm so glad that I've reached the point in my life when I can legimately type that sentence).
I came up with the argument that the physics of this wouldn't be completely accurate because while this is a lump of dough that's basically just dead weight, a real, live baby's weight distribution would be completely different. He's got arms and legs flailing all over the place, his head's probably wobbling everywhere and you know he's not gonna sit still. So, while this exercise is going to be fun, it won't be completely scientific. But, when you're kicking pretend babies across an Italian restaurant at Christamstime, you can't get hung up on the details.
Well, I kind of shinned it, cause I didn't line it up right on the top of my foot and it just hit my shin and only went about 3 feet. Somebody else, however, managed to not only make it to the tree, but shattered one of the ornaments and took out one of the presents under it as well. It was great! And the best part was, there were still customers in the restaurant. Short of kicking a real baby across the restaurant on my last day there (all in the name of science of course), I don't know how I'm going to top that.

Posted by
DJ D @ 04/01/2008 3:04 PM EST
The baby would probably only flail if it was thrown. Kicking it would most likely take all the fight out of it before that would have an impact on the physics of flight.

Rev. BackItOnUp, Good point. Plus, by kicking, you'd get a good surprised yelp out of it upon the impact of the kick, whereas if you just threw it, it would be too surprised at what was happening (and might even enjoy it) to make much noise. The soft sensation of just getting lofted into the air would actually be kind of fun….until the landing anyway.

Hey everyone! Well, I FINALLY got my cable and Internet installed, and I got the MLB Extra Innings package. Guess what the first game happens to be that I turn on? You got it, the YANKEES!!!! Not like I have any choice. Neither Chicago team is playing today (they both lost yesterday), the Rangers don't play until later tonight since they're in Seattle. I do think Houston's on so I'll have to check that out, but other than the Yankees, the only other game on is the Mets. What a coincidence, BOTH New York teams are playing. Oh well, good time to break in my new toy. Already got about four programs programmed to tape on my DVR! Looks like I'll be staying in this weekend!

Kid Nicky: Actually, the DVR is so while I'm taping one show, I'm watching another. Of course, you can only tape two shows at the same time, and then you don't get to watch another show but flip between the two you are taping. I guess that's where a TiVo comes in. Of course most of the stuff I record end up being repeated just a few hours later. Oh well, at least I got my GSN (Game Show Network). I'm a sucker for old game shows, and I also myself addicted to Lingo. It's amazing just how many five-letter words there are in the English language!

Oh, I forgot to mention that I bought an XBox 360 this past weekend. Of course, I only bought one game, MLB 2K8 and man, is it hard to play! Compared to 2K7 where I just pressed a button to deliver a pitch, now I have to use the right thumbstick and move it in a certain way or my pitching is all off! I got the 360 arcade version so there's no big hard drive space, nor do I have an HD Player (prefer Blu-Ray anyway). It said I was supposed to get a disc of five free games including UNO and a Pacman game. Well, didn't find the disc so perhaps I get it if I sign on to XBox Live. My buddy suggest I do that and hook my 360 to my computer. Of course, I still have my original XBox and I've been thinking of hooking that up as well. Who knows, I guess it all depends on my mood which hasn't been the greatest in a while. Oh well, thank God I have 24/7 access to X-Entertainment where feeling bad is a good feeling…or something like that!

I suppose I should also mention I have a Nintendo DS. I bought it months ago while I was still in Iraq. Of course, I only had two games at the time, Mario Kart DS and the Harlem Globetrotters. Now I mostly play my three newer games: The Simpsons Game, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader? and the World Series of Poker 2008 Edition. I like the fact that I can play my Game Boy Advance games on there, but I have more regular Game Boy and yet I can't play them! I was told if you had the DS Lite you can play them and I thought I had the old DS but my box says I have Lite, and yet I can't play my original Game Boy games. What gives? Thankfully my old Game Boy Advance is still in good condition!

Posted by
BJ @ 04/01/2008 9:51 PM EST

Whoever told you the lite could play GB games was a liar.
The DS does not have a Game Boy chip in it like the GBA did. So you can't play regular Game Boy or Game Boy Color games in a DS.

Posted by
Cameron T. @ 04/01/2008 10:20 PM EST
Is it me or does it seem Nintendo seems to only have a connection to play Game Boy games every other system. The Super Nintendo had Super Game Boy where you could play your GB and GB Color games. Nintendo 64 didn't have anything for Game Boy. GameCube had a connection where you can play everything up to GBA. So far, nothing has come out for the Wii for Game Boy games so the next Nintendo system should be bigger because you would have to include the DS games as well.

Hey, I found the Compilation Disc that has the Pac-Man game for my 360. Seems Microsoft wanted to hide the disc behind one of the side paddings. Guess I was smart to not throw the box away! I probably won't play it tonight. It's getting late and I've been busy posting blog posts and catching up on e-mails while flipping between games on the tube. DJD - I believe you may now be the Batman to my Joker as I've hated the Braves ever since Sid Bream came marching home in Game 7 of the 1992 NLCS, thus preventing my beloved Buccos a World Series appearance. Ever since then, they've suffered and suffered some more. After the near epic collapse in the ninth last night, I was sure the Braves would walk away with a win.

Too bad I never got to pull any pranks today…
You would think the Marlins would be my most hated team after what happened to them against the Cubs in '03. Of course, if that were true then I would have to hate the Giants for '89, the Padres for '84, and of course the Mets for '69. Honestly, I don't really have a hated baseball team, even though I do favor some teams over others. I never hated the Yankees, but I never really liked them either. I do respect them because of their history. The only team I could think of having a hatred for would be Oakland. I seem to not like teams from Oakland because, yes, out of the 32 teams in the NFL, my 32nd favorite team are the Oakland Raiders. I guess because the A's come from the same city, I have to hate them as well, but that's not really the case. I actually hate them more from when they were in the AL West along with the White Sox. The late 80's/early 90's were my most hated times with the Athletics and they way they dominated the AL West. Plus you also had Canseco and McGwire on that team which are two more reasons to hate them in those days! These days? I don't know, I guess my hatred would be because they dominate the Rangers since I'm uprooted in Texas and therefore follow the Texas teams more than I do the Chicago teams. Of course, you can take the man out of the city but you can't take the city out of the man! GO CUBBIES!

Of course, I didn't eat regular Crunch the way I used to eat Peanut Butter Crunch and Crunchberries. Of course, the Crunchberries cereal had the same bits so perhaps that's where I thought I remember them being bigger. Oh man, I don't know if Huell Howser is just a California thing or what but I just watched an episode of Visiting that some of you guys would have loved. This guy had a Hong Kong catfish that was two inches long when he bought 11 years ago that they released into a lake because he was too big for his tank. This fish was absolutely massive, like at least two feet long. At the end they did a montage of the fish and his owner, set to the strains of "The Way We Were". It was AWESOME.
werd, Annette. I've never been rickrolled, and that is precisely why. Besides, I don;t watch YouTube at work.

I have no idea what rickrolling means. This is the first I've heard of it.

I thought I was the only one in the dark on what rickrolling meant. According to Wiki: a person provides a link they claim is relevant to the topic at hand which actually takes the user to the Astley video. It can also mean playing the song loudly in public in order to be disruptive

Hola fellow X-E ers! Haven't posted on here in ages, but found something some of you may just enjoy! It's got everything but "The Carlton Dance"! Just click my name - it's hilarious!

Yea, I never understood why Rickrolling was supposed to be funny in the first place. Of course, I like alot of 80's music, including Astley.

Am I the only one here who thinks that now that Wii will have downloadable games at a low cost,Nintendo should bring back Pro Wrestling? it would be awesome seeing 3D versions of Starman and Amazon taking on your Mii people. Especially if there were online matches.
No real life wrestlers like Randy Orton,I'm only intersted if it's the original lineup.
(or Kaiju Big Battel)

So (regarding Super Smash Bros. Brawl) your Brawl code is different than your Wii friend code?
I am going to get Brawl very soon and would like to add as many of you as I can. Can someone give me a two sentence breakdown of this?

Posted by
Magic Toy @ 04/02/2008 10:40 PM EST
Two sentences-
1. It's a different code.
2. All our codes have been mentioned in the last couple of threads.
Dohopoki,You can rot in the pits of hell. Fighter Hayabusa cannot hold a candle to the likes of Starman.
Does anyone remember the Ric Flair guy's name?

Kid Nicky @ 04/02/2008 10:56 PM EST
Magic Toy
1. Brawl code is separate from your Wii Friend Code.
2. You add your friend's code. (inside the game, not on the Wii). They add yours. Nintendo pretty much does the rest.

Holy crap, this is so weird that this topic has come up cause just the other day at work I "Rickrolled" the whole office without even knowing it. Some girls behind me were singing the song and as a joke, I looked it up on Project Playlist and started playing it. The whole office got a bit of a chuckle out of it. I had no idea this was some kind of "thing" that people are doing now, much less that it actually had a name. What a strange practical joke.
The coolest thing happened last night. You know the site I mentioned above about the viral marketing for The Dark Knight? Well, I went to it again to see if there were any updates, and it had changed. Apparently, the reason why they were encouraging everyone to go to all these bowling alleys was that at one of the locations had a secret prize. It was revealed today that the one that had the prize was one in Brazil. Someone went there and was given a bowling ball with a cell phone and a note and a number to call. When they did they got a secret message.
Aaaaaaanyway, I checked out the site last night and it had changed, this time telling you to go to another site where you can "hack" into a certain security system. Supposidly, the Joker himself is providing all this. You enter your name, phone number and e-mail address in, and they give you the password of "Needle". Well, I did that, waited a few seconds while it was processing, and suddenly my phone rang! The number on the caller ID was all zeros. I got a pre-recorded messaging asking for my password. I said "needle", heard a pause, and suddenly got another message from Commissioner Gordon! He said something about how I was now on the Gotham City task force and how they now had my IP address and would be in touch. How freaking cool! I'm the biggest Batman dork in the world and am just obsessed with all things Batman, so I just about freaked out. I can't wait to see what they do next and to see how/when we're getting another trailer.

I think someone at our local paper is a fan of this website, as a week after Matt does his sandwich survey, they do an article on deli sanwiches and to vote on the best one.
http://www.desmoinesregister.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2...
So, which sandwich do you like the most and the least from the article? Or you can put them in some kinda order if you want.

"Whole muscle deli meats"??? Eww.
I love meat. One could say that meat and I have a special bond forged by many years of tender affection. But when I take a healthy chomp of my favorite meat products, one word I particularly like to put far in the back of my mind is "muscle".
I know that's what it is, except when it isn't (spam? scrapple? hot dogs? peckers and gums all). I suppose that acceptance of this reality is what vegetarians always seem to be trying to convince me about. But because I'm a two year old, I still laugh when I see a butt roast.
Purely as they are, I'd be most into the turkey bacon melt. I'm not going to put all of them in order though.

Unfortunately no, Rob, if by "really?" you mean is it really a game. Stupid April Fools.
DJ D, that is such a cool viral alternative reality whatever! I'm started to get excited for Batman…yesterday I swung by Hot Topic (it makes me feel so old being in there, but where else can you get Harry Potter, Planet Terror and Hot Fuzz shirts at 50% off?) and they had all kinds of Batman stuff already.
King Slender was who I meant,I couldn't think of his name. Jericho was like 6 years old when that game came out!

I will surely throw an astounding gala the day of the new post. All are invited. We will dance in cocktail dresses and tuxedos while drinking champagne under the stars. Then we will retire to play NES and watch old movies in our pajamas.

The idea of playing NES games whilst sipping champagne and wearing a tuxedo is strangely alluring to me. Please, more details on this gala party of yours!

Man, I don't know what happened, but I tried to post something a few hours ago and even though I hit post (twice even-and got the whole "slow down cowboy" message), it never showed up. I thought it might even be a delayed reaction and left the site and came back a couple of times, but it never appeared. I hope this one does though.
squee4242 Yeah, Hot Topic just ain't what it used to be, but if they've got cool Batman stuff I'll definetly have to check it out.
Jess, Tell me when and where and I'm there.
Is anyone here in Texas? If so, have you ever been to the Alamo Drafthouse? I've been reading a lot about it lately and it almost seems like it would be worth the trip to Texas just to check it out. I found a little sort of promotional magazine
thing tonight about it that has loads of articles and about the shows coming up and the schedule and everything and apparently they've got some Saturday morning cartoon pajama party deal coming up where you just show up in your pj's and everyone sort of votes on the cartoons they want to watch and it's all 80's and 90's stuff. How freaking fun is that?
Anyways, on the subject of exciting things going to DVD, I just read that Birds of Prey, the entire series is coming out. This was one of the best shows that just didn't make it to a second season and it really sucks cause I think if it was brand new and just came out now I bet it would do great. It's based on characters in the DC comics that live in Gotham City. It's kind of a spin-off to a Batman show that never was. For you non-comic book geeks, it's about Oracle (Barbara Gordon–daughter of Comissioner Gordon, who was the first Batgirl until The Joker shot her and paralyzed her and put her in a wheelchair), The Huntress (the daughter of Batman and Catwoman), and a psychic chick called Dinah.
It was a great show and was way before it's time because it came out pre-Smallville and I just don't think there was the market for comic book related material back then that there is now. It's cool because Alfred Pennyworth was a recurring character, and later on Dr. Harley Quinzel showed up (who of course would have later become Harley Quinn if the show had survived). Also, it's worth watching for the opening title sequence alone. It tells the story of how Batman fought The Joker and decided to leave Gotham, leaving the Birds of Prey to protect it. They got a great actor to play Batman (he was also the same guy that was in the Onstar commercials in the Batmobile many years ago). Also, while the guy who actually played The Joker in the opening sequence was an unknown, they dubbed over the voice of Mark Hammill because was he was famous at the time for doing The Joker's voice on the Batman animated series.
Ok, I'm done geeking out now.
