03/21/2008: Rambo made me love jade.
I spent the past week at a "How To Be A Better Webmaster" bootcamp/seminar deal, and though I expected simple solutions like "update more often" or "remember that you own a website," I was instead instructed to resonate with you by talking about one of my favorite stones in the entire stone kingdom: JADE.
I love jade. I really do. I look at jade, and I wish I could be magically transformed into a hippie new age housewife, just so I can get away with gluing random pieces of it to my belt. Though there are hundreds of things that I love without any clear remembrance of the origins of said loves, with jade, I actually know the precise moment that I became its #1 fan.
It was the summer of 1985. During my family's annual trip to Wildwood, the inevitable vacation-ending activity commenced: It was time to cash in all of our casino arcade tickets and obtain whatever lousy prize we could get from spending thousands of dollars on skeeball and Pop-A-Ball poker.
For as much as I loved those Wildwood casino arcades, I have to admit that there was an unmistakable level of suck to the prizes they offered. 25,000 points for a knockoff Lots-A-Lots-A-Legggs doll? The fact that only three of you know what real Lots-A-Lots-A-Legggs dolls are only punctuates how ridiculous it was to spend 25,000 points on a bootleg version.
In the end, I usually picked whatever toys I could find that were from officially licensed brands, even if I wasn't a huge fan of those particular brands. And that's how the "Rambo Survival Knife" came into my life.
If you're wondering what any of this has to do with jade, I promise, all will be revealed.

The "Rambo Survival Knife" is actually more of a "Rambo Survival Kit," consisting of much more than the crude rubber blade shown at left. Also included is a sheath, which is so unbelievably thin and flimsy that the knife simply cannot fit inside it, whittling the sheath's potential uses down to landfill or a condom you wear when you want children.
More alarming is the toy watch. It isn't functional, of course, featuring a cardboard dial which dictates that the time is now and forever 10:05. To help sell the toy watch as an official Rambo item, they went through the trouble of adding "RAMBO" text on the dial. If nothing else, it's succinct. I might be more forgiving to this piece of shit watch if it had the ability to stay in one piece. Just by touching it, the watch explodes into several plastic pieces, each more annoying than the last. Then again, I'm not too familiar with Rambo's films. I know he had guns…can anyone confirm if Rambo ever had an exploding trick watch? I suspect he would've called it a "time bomb." But he wouldn't have chuckled after saying it, because that's cheesy.
At the casino arcade, this dumb Rambo toy was on display in a high-up window case. Almost everything seems ten thousand times cooler when on display in high-up window cases, but this is one of the few items in history that was done a great disservice by such a method of display. Nobody could see it from the floor of that arcade, but lurking deep within the "Rambo Survival Knife" set was something so holy and so GREEN that I'm honestly tempted to finish this entry in this horrible font color.

It was…THE AMULET. I would've been excited enough to own an amulet that was apparently based on a combination of Buddha and a Martian Popping Thing, but when my mother noted that it "looked like jade" and explained what jade was, I just about lost my mind. I had no reason to suspect that the amulet was simply forged in plastic, and in my mind, I was the proud owner of a million dollar gem, left to wonder how such an immensely priceless objet d'art could've possibly been packaged with a lousy shoelace for a necklace.
I cannot impress upon you the love I had for this amulet. I wore it everywhere, or at least, I did until the fateful day came when the charm fell off and vanished from the face of the planet. The entertainment industry had long taught me that amulets were magical good luck charms capable of delivering their wielders incredible powers. So, not only did I look freakin' cool with my freakin' sweet jade amulet…I had godlike powers, too!
So began a lifelong love affair with jade. To this day, no street fair vendor hawking poorly crafted animal statues made from jade or other rocks green enough to pass as jade has met my gaze without meeting my wallet soon after. To this day, I still contend that most of the walls in our apartment would look really great if we painted them bright green. To this day, I let that bitch from Mortal Kombat II beat up Scorpion without ever trying to fight back, sheerly out of respect. Jade wins.
Kind of an odd story to be telling you on a Friday night, but I feel better having done so.
The "Rambo Survival Knife" was made by a company called LarGo, which reads like the screenname of the Tampa-area old lady who I totally pummeled in Yahoo Checkers just the other day.
In other news:

I'm back in
ToyFare with an article on
M.U.S.C.L.E. toys, covering their past, present and future, with every accessory and Nintendo game in-between. Actually, the feature was in
last month's issue, but it took forever for me to find it. When I finally did, it was at a comic shop on the way to my bus stop by the office. During the ride home, I couldn't keep from thumbing through to check out how the ToyFare's artists handled the layout, and also to see how much of it survived their editing process. (Not complaining…they edit for the right reasons, not just for the heck of it.)
So I'm sitting there reading, and I catch some guy across the row staring a hole through the magazine pages and my head. He didn't seem like the type of person who would've been a ToyFare subscriber, and I couldn't figure out why all of this seemed so interesting to him. Finally, it hit me: A glossy black magazine page with "THINK PINK" written on it in giant neon lettering, footnoted with a shot of a cartoon character wearing a leotard. Feeling sufficiently leotarded, I tucked the magazine back into its brown paper bag and quickly zipped into iPod mode. Whatever. I get sick when I try to read in cars, anyway.
I hope you're all doing well. At least, I hope you're doing well enough to answer this SURPRISE SURVEY — WHOA!
Survey: Look at the picture below. It's of four sandwiches. Put these sandwiches in your order of preference, and explain your reasoning. Your decisions must be based on these sandwiches and these sandwiches alone, exactly as shown. You can't add mustard or whatever else you would usually add. I don't know why, but I'm honestly curious about your responses.

I'd go with the roast beef sandwich as my top pick, and actually, it's the only one that I find somewhat palatable. Totally crushing on the sea of radish slices.
Next up, I guess the luncheon meat. I've never had luncheon meat, but it looks kind of like Spam. I can't remember if I've ever eaten Spam, but I find it interesting. I'm also intrigued by the scale portrayed here. From what I know of green pepper rings, their relative size means that the meat slices are approximately seven feet long a piece.
Ham would be third, even though I don't eat ham and have an aversion to cucumbers. Why? Because I'd sooner fry bugs up with dog shit than eat a tuna salad.
Great survey, right? X-E is so awesome.
PS: Did Rambo really wear a jade buddha amulet? If the answer is yes, he's so great.

First?
I'd have to go tuna, ham, roast beef, luncheon meat for the sandwiches.

Sorry for the DP, I forgot to put my reason for my selections. Tuna first because it has tomatoes on it which I like more than the veggies on the others. Ham because cucumbers are more tolerable than either radishes or green peppers which is why the others rank where they do.

The Tuna sandwich first…it looks the safest
Then the roast beef radish … second safest and if the roast beef is rare, the blood will moisten the other wise dry english muffin
Then ham/swiss because grilled cheese on raisin bread is good
Lastly green pepper/luncheon loafick

Let's see, First would be luncheon meat on the pepper roll because the pepper roll looks appetizing and I like lunch meat sandwiches. Secondly, baked ham on raisin rye, I've never had raisin rye before and I'm curious. Third, tuna salad on pumpernickel, I like tuna salad, I don't like pumpernickel. Lastly, the roast beef on an English muffin, that thing just sounds gross. Matt, I notice the survey has that aged yellow look. Where ever did you find it? My curiosity is piqued.
I will rate these sandwiches in order of least disgustingness as they all look totally horrible:
1. Luncheon meat w/ green pepper - I love onion rolls
2. Roast Beef - I love english muffins also (but the picture of the roast beef makes me gag a little)
3. Tuna - I love tomatoes (but hate tuna and hate pumpernickel)
4. Ham and swiss - I usually enjoy ham (but cucumbers REALLY make me gag and I don't know if I could force raisin rye down my throat)
All in all totally revolting! And yet I was totally compelled to make this list…damn you Matt you are completely intoxicating…

I have news I'd like to share with everyone. Some asshole decided that "Dr. Pepper Barriers and Cream" should join Mt. Dew PITCH BLACK and SURGE in the long list of soda flavors that never should have left us. It's officially been discontinued! I'm so angry!

X-E is so awesome!
Ok, here are my sandwich selections:
1. Swiss cheese, baked ham, etc. Except I'd take off the ham.
2. Roast beef on English muffin. That sounds yummy.
3. Lunch meat and pepper rings on an onion roll. Sweet mother of pearl, I hope somebody has Altoids after that sandwich gets passed out!
4. Tuna salad. It gets last because it sounds too mushy to be an enjoyable sandwich.

So I? would say tuna first because i dont know why, probably just because it is the only combo that makes sense to me. then the roast beef, only i could do without the radishes, then the ham and swiss, but with different bread because I EFFING HATE RAISINS, and then the luncheon meat sammich, because mystery meat should stay a mystery and never be eaten EVER

Posted by
Leigha @ 03/21/2008 11:16 PM EST
As a whole, the sandwhich choices a kind of lame - I would take a kit bash of the onion roll with ham and swiss. I think that would be the best combo of the four.

I totally had the Rambo Survival Knife too! I was an army brat, so I got all kinds of violent stuff. In fact, when my amulet finally broke off the chain, I would make my action figures do battle for it. And is there anybody who had this toy as a child that doesn't love jade?
Ok, sammich survey.
I'd go with the Tuna first, because the whole thing sounds good to me, since I love spinach on sammiches. Then I'd go with the Ham and Cheese, because I like cucumbers in all their many glorious incarnations, and I kinda think they would work with the raisin bread (I love to cook, so I love to try different things). Next, I'd go Luncheon Meat, because I like a little mystery in my life. Finally, the Roast Beef… because I fucking hate English Muffins! With a bloody passion!
Pumpernickel, onion, muffin, raisin rye.
That's fun to say.

Roast beef, ham, tuna salad, luncheon meat. The luncheon meat definitely looks mysteriously gross.

Tuna Salad, Baked Ham, Roast Beef, Luncheon Meat. BECAUSE: Spinach leaves beat lettuce, ham & swiss is one of nature's most perfect naturally occuring sanGwich combinations, plain roast beef on an english muffin would reek if not for the added crunch of the slices, and luncheon meat, as a last resort and only if I absolutely have to. I've put a lot of odd things in my mouth, but F luncheon meat. No thanks.
Huzzah! A new blog!
In Brawl news, I now have every Character & every Stage. FC is in the previous blog.
Sandwich poll:
I'd go with the Roast Beef as #1 as well, as it's the only one that looks somewhat good.
2 would be the Ham Sandwich because I like how it looks.
3 is the Tuna Salad, I'm not a fan of tuna, spinach AND Tomato…on Pumpernickel Bread, but I'm willing to try. The reason why I like ketchup and not tomato slices on sandwiches is that you never know how thick or thin the tomato slice will be. And no matter what, that slice is always juicy, and it sets off whatever inertia or momentum the sandwich already had, making it easier to fall apart. I don't like sandwiches to fall apart in my hands. Otherwise its some stuff and some bread.
Last would be the "Luncheon Meat" because first of all, I don't trust generic Luncheon Meat in the first place. Second…who uses the word "Luncheon"? Honestly.
Also, my 21st Bday is sunday!
All 4 of the sandwiches look awful, but if I had to put them in order of least gag inducing to most I'd say:
1. Ham sandwich: the raisin rye is the only really freaky thing about it although not a particular fan of any of the other ingredients.
2.Roast Beef: I hate radishes but the roast beef is preferable to tuna or lunch meat.
3. Lunch Meat: 3 C-grade ingredients gets a C. and I could probably get through it better than…
4.Tuna Salad. Not only does a childhood full of meals where I was screamed at by my father to eat the #%@* TUNA SALAD SANDWICH while I wept and despaired cause a person to never want Tuna Salad again, I also have a personal rule against eating food that looks like someone unsuccessfully tried to eat it before me.
Also: Berries and Cream Dr. Pepper: I was disappointed to hear it was discontinued. Especially now that there is the Cherry Chocolate Dr. P which is horrid.
Watch, after we all chime in on our choices, Matt will come back and tell us what those choices say about us. Like if roast beef on the English muffin is your top choice, it means you secretly love your cousin or something like that.

Happy Birthday Invader!
I'd have to go with the roast beef first.
Then onto the ham & cheese. Sounds pretty good on raisin bread.
Next, gotta try the Spam. I figure the onion roll should kill any "interesting" taste.
Finally, the tuna and tomato. Now, I have to say, I am a big fan of tuna done right. However, I HATE tomatoes on sandwiches. They make the bread totally soggy. When my parents invite the whole family over to chow, whenever they order a big 6 foot hero I ask them to put the tomatoes on the side. Not that they ever do! Yeah, yeah, I know I sound like a big baby, but it's the only real food pet peeve that I have!

Matt: Hey, you're right! It turns out that I picked tuna, and my girlfriend and I are both descended from the same Scottish Clan, so technically we're waaaaaayyy super distant cousins.
Brilliant.
Tuna, ham, luncheon, beef. Tuna because tuna is the man, ham gets points deducted cuz of the raisins but still sounds good, luncheon just sounds so-so, and an english muffin as sandwich bread?? no gracias on the beef.

1. Tuna. Because I like tuna salad. And pumpernickel. I love tomatoes and spinach is good too.
2. Ham. I like everything on it, but raisins? On a sandwich? I'm not so into the mixing sweet and savory thing.
3. Roast beef is good. I've never had radishes but I don't think I would like them. I don't use English muffins for sandwiches; it seems like they would be too dry or crumbly or something. Maybe if it was toasted? I can't tell from the picture.
4. WTF is "luncheon meat"??
Where in the world did you find these "Nourishing Sandwiches"? The title creeps me out a little, as if they contain the perfect combinations of ingredients to feed four different types of little mutated monsters to do your bidding. Yes, my little darlings, eat your Nourishing Sandwiches…

First off I'd like to say that Jersey should just give it up and make SkeeBall a varsity sport. Seriously. You need 50,000 tickets pronto? Plunk a local infron of a SkeeBall machine. I have sadly lost my touch being away from the shore for so long.
Onto the fun part:
1. Tuna. Hopefully it's not made with celery and I always love me some tomatoes, spinach and rye.
2. Roast beef. Hopefully it's not as dry as it looks. Normally a safe bet.
3. Ham. I tolerate ham, I enjoy cucumbers, I love raisin bread. Ham ON Raisin bread? Ugh.
4. Luncheon Meat. That sammich is an amalgamation of my worst nightmare: horrid onion loaf, terrifying generic mean (the hell IS that? olive loaf??) If it was spam, which is a distant cousin of Pork Roll then it'd be ok, but the peppers…uuugggh.

The roast beef's the only one I'd eat voluntarily. I like roast beef, english muffins and radishes so it doesn't seem like it would be too bad. The rest are pretty awful, but next I'd go with the ham and cucumber, and then the luncheon meat just edges out the tuna salad. The luncheon meat looks plenty grody and I can see a sandwich with spinach and tomato being tasty but I just can't stand tuna salad.
What's that burgundy colored material you always see Buddha statues made of? I've got a couple of those but I'd like to pick up a jade one. It's just so classy looking.
X-E is so awesome!
HB Norb. You can drink legally, now
Um, lemme see:
1. Roast Beef–gawd, I luvs Roast Beef.
2. Ham–somewhat palatable.
3. Tuna–less than palatable.
4. Luncheon Meat–YOU DO NOT PUT STUFF INSIDE MEAT.
It is a crime against Nature.

Wow, I don't think I commented on here since Nathan Bitner was a child…so it's been a while.
Anyway, I'd have to go with roast beef, then lunch meat-although I'd have to hope the green peppers and onion loaf disguise the taste of Spam, then tuna, and finally ham, because like Bluejay says, I just don't understand the raisin bread, it's sweet and a sandwich shouldn't be sweet.
Here's my question, how many people actually go all out when they make a sandwich? I saw an Esquire recently and it had 10 pages of sandwiches…but each sandwich took at least a half hour to prepare: grilled meats, aged cheeses, toasted breads, diced vegetables, rare ingredients, these were all labor intensive sandwiches.
So, do you fellow readers go all out? Am I the only freak in the world who throws some roast beef and cheese on some wonder bread and might use some mustard if I happen to see some in the fridge? I swear these exotic sandwiches make me feel lazy.

The whole joy of sandwiches is the convenience. Plus, if you put too much effort into the product, you can't get it into your mouth. Then that puts the sandwich in strictly sit-down meal territory, cause you have to use a fork to kinda dismantle it a little. Pointless.

Tuna Salad, Roast Beef, Swiss Cheese, Luncheon Meat!
Because you can sing it.

I hate pumpernickel, raisins, peppers and English muffins :S
however, English muffins are closest to edible out of that list. And then peppers. Then pumpernickel. then raisins…because…RAISINS. EUGH.

FangsFirst @ 03/22/2008 2:40 AM EST
The Ham would go first because despite the raisins, I love ham and cheese sandwhiches on rye and the cucumbers I'll get over. The luncheon meat second but that better be some high quality luncheon meat. The roast beef is third but I think I have an allergic reaction to radishes that will kill me. Still beats tuna salad though.

TRUKK NOT MUNKY @ 03/22/2008 3:37 AM EST
1. Luncheon Meat with peppers- this one wins just for being on an onion roll… also, green peppers are awesome, and while i'm not a great lover of luncheon meat, i still think its pretty good…
2. Roast Beef with Radish- this one would have gotten first if it hadn't been for the english muffin… no sandwich should be on any sort of muffin…english or otherwise… EVER… but i do love roast beef and radishes, so it gets number two… it bumps up to a tie with number one IF it has horseradish on it, which any non-communist roast beef sandwich should (i actually had a somewhat heated argument with a co-worker today about this very topic)
3. Tuna Salad with fresh veggies- well, i assume they're fresh anyway… pumpernickel tomatoes and lettuce are always good, but the thought of a soggy, drippy, fresh breath destroying tuna salad sandwich is unappealing enough to bump this one down to number 3…
4. Ham and Cheese with Cucumber- this one got number 4 not because i dont think it would taste good, quite the contrary i assure you, but just for being horribly horribly BORING… there is nothing more boring than a ham and cheese sandwich really… we've all been there, and all done that… while i can appreciate the effort of the raisin rye to try and spice it up a bit, we all know that raisin rye is only really good for toast… they're not fooling anyone with that mess… c'mon guys… seriously…
and thats the story of how i spent 15 minutes at 4:13 in the morning! wait… why was i writing this again?

Roast Beef would be the first choice. It has the only add ons that I will actually eat.
Ham with cucumbers would be second. I would eat around the cucumbers though because just the thought of them makes me queasy.
Luncheon meat is third, not that I have ever experienced what it tastes like but because like you, I'd rather fry bugs than eat anything with tuna salad in it.

rimmie @ 03/22/2008 6:11 AM EST
4. Ham- I don't eat ham, so I would probably pick the ham off and it would not be so bad. (ham is often eaten on sandwiched with sweet things at my work we have a ham and pear sandwich and people love the thing)
3. Luncheon- I am with those who say what is luncheon meat?
2. Tuna
1. Roast Beef
Please let us know where one finds pictures of nourishing sandwiches.

At the top of my list is the tuna. Looks tasty. I'm one of the few people in the world that actually likes tuna, so.
Next, the roast beef. I'm not a big fan of roast beef or English muffins, but I'd tolerate it.
Now, the ham. It's odd-looking, but I'd eat it. Except for the Swiss cheese, ughughugh I hate that crap. The cheese makes this lose major points.
Coming in last is the luncheon meat. I would rather have Swiss cheese than eat overly-processed non-meat product. Gross. Bell peppers and onion rolls are tasty though.
I really wish I could sleep right now.

WOW I remember when I was a kid I had a real version of the Rambo knife, it had a compass on the base of the handle that unscrewed. Inside was water proof matches, a little fishing line and hook, a wire that was to be used as a saw and some other little items that I can't quite recall. I was probably 10 at the time, not sure what the hell my parents were thinking with that one.

Alright, alright! I haven't done enough surprise surveys about sandwiches. I'm pumped!
Okay..
Roast Beef: Mostly because I love anything on an english muffin. You could sautee rat poison and turnip and put it on an english muffin..and I'd STILL eat it. And I hate turnip..
Tuna: Though I'm not a HUGE fan of spinach on sandwiches, I AM a huge fan of pumpernickel bread, tuna sandwiches and tomato.
Ham: though I'm not sure about the queasy-factor of having ham, swiss cheese and cucumber on a sandwich with raisin bread (which..where I come from is only to be eaten toasted with butter slathered on top..I've never seen or heard of a sandwich being made out of raisin bread before!!), it looks all around delicious despite that. And hey..it could be lovely and I just don't know. I'm pregnant..I eat weirder stuff than that on a daily basis!!
and Finally
Lunch
Meat
: God..I can't even put into words how much I HATE lunch meat. Growing up in rural Newfoundland sometimes we would fry it up and eat it with french fries as a supper. I guess that's something you do there. I can't handle it now. THough I LOVE onion rolls and green peppers!

first off the roast beef, because it looks a little less disgusting than the other ones. second i would go with the luncheon meat only because the raisins on the ham sandwich make me want to ralph and i too will go with the tunasalad last because when i was 10 years old i saw a report on the news that nearly 95% of all cans of tuna sold in this country contain bug parts and it's ok because the government allows for a certain amount of bug parts in our food. thats right, i'm not talking about mexico, i'm talking about the good old u.s. of a. and yes rambo wore the amulet its even on his old toys from the 1980's. i think it was called rambo and the forces of freedom

Tuna - solely (haha, lame fish joke) because the heartiness of pumpernickel bread gives the sandwich some cohesion. I couldn't stand to eat tuna salad on white, but I think I could tolerate it on some chunky pumpernickel. Chunkernickel.
Roast beef - roast beef and radish sounds like a decent combo, although to me English muffins are exclusively a breakfast food. I used to feel the same way about croissants, but the BLTA croissant at Red Robin swayed my way of thinking.
Luncheon meat - luncheon meat is gross, but I think the peppers would give a nice bite to the overall sandwich. Yes, peppers would pick up the slack that luncheon meat drops on Team Sandwich.
Baked ham - I'm a ham fan, much to my girlfriend's disgust, but the rest of this sandwich makes it unpalatable to me. Cucumbers are gross. Their texture and smell reminds me of their middle syllable. And I don't understand having a savoury sandwich on raisin bread.
P.S. I love how food looks in old 70s/80s magazines/cookbooks. Sometimes I buy microwave cookbooks at the thrift store and just look lovingly at the "Look at me, I'm an 80s Miele/Mercedes Benz/General Electric print ad" photography.

I never knew so many people hated ham! Ham should grow on trees. Imagine the magnificent landscape of bounteous ham trees with their glistening hammy fruits swaying in the breeze, and the occasional THUNK as a ripe ham falls to the ground.
It remembers? me? I feel so loved and validated
I do have a fascination with jade, at least I did when I was about 13 or so. I used to watch QVC and HSN alot and also infomercials. I was fascinated by them, and I would pretend in my head that I was a potential customer. Well in the jewelery hours they would have products made of jade. I loved it, the different colors of jade even though it was mostly that milky green color, necklaces, earrings and those hoop bracelets you have to squeeze your hand into. The animal statues are bad though.
Onto the sandwich question. I would pick tuna even though I have never had pumpernickel bread I can assume what it tastes like. Maybe I should make some someday or just buy a friggin loaf of the stuff. It just seems like the most edible. Second would be the ham one because it has cucumbers on it. Cucumbers would be great on the tuna sandwich. We love cucumbers around here, I always deskin them, dice them up and put them in our salad.
Along with the diced up crappy tomatoes we've been getting lately. I can't wait until it's tomato season so they are palatable. These red house tomatoes are awful. Maybe I am just saying that because my Granddad has a garden where he grows cherry tomatoes and regular tomatoes and so I know what a real one tastes like. Cherry tomatoes rock my socks. But you have to bite down on them right or you'll get a straight line of tomato seeds and juice down your shirt for the rest of the day.
I want to be able to grow a garden someday, we can have tomato plants here but in pots not in the ground. I should get on that soon. Anyway lol I have always been fascinated with food photography. I have watched shows on the subject, watching the pro work, and it's interesting. I have always wondered if I would be good at that job. Those people are really passionate about it. And they passed a law a few years ago you can only photograph food you can't photograph dummy food and then say it's the product on the package. That makes it harder for foods like ice cream to be photographed because the lights melt it quickly. Before that law was passed there was this concoction was made that was basically like a lard type of substance that didn't melt as quickly that looked exactly like ice cream. Anyway I just think that is interesting sometimes

1) Tuna - I like everything on this one. Pumpernickel isn't my favourite but it'll do.
2) Luncheon Meat - Not a big fan of the "meat" but I like green peppers and onion rolls and it beats the other options.
3) Roast Beef - This one looks gross to me but less so than the last one.
4) Ham - I like ham but am not a big fan of Swiss cheese, hate any seeds/fruit in my bread (raisins? come on now), and cucumbers are the only vegetable I've tried that I still can't stomach. Blech.

First I'd eat the tuna, because tuna is yummy. Could use some pickles, though. Next I'd go with ham, then roast beef. I wouldn't eat the luncheon meat. I'd feed it to the dog, much like I use her to dispose of vanilla pudding pops.

ah that takes me back… I, like El Loco Gordo also remember being about 10 or 11 years old and having what you might call the "real" rambo knife… it was referred to as a "survival knife" as i recall… if you want to pay top dollar you could order yourself a real survival knife which would probably be really handy were you to find yourself trapped in the jungle behind enemy lines… the one that i had however was the one you got for 8 dollars from the lowlier tables at the gun and knife show (i'm from south carolina, i grew up in a house surrounded by guns and knives, the gun and knife show was actually a big deal…)The blade was some kind of cheap not-quite-real-metal-made-in-china affair… the handle was made of cheap plastic but did as stated earlier have a small nearly unusable compass on the end, which could be unscrewed to reveal the vast cornucopia of survivalist goodies mentioned by el gordo loco previously… I still remember as a child being spellbound by this object, despite the fact that they would probably break if you were to use any of the items in it for their intended purposes… i would sit atop my bunk beds and dream up all sorts of survivalist scenarios where i would use my trusty survival knife to escape the jungles of south east asia, fend off attacking bears in the forests of canada, and possibly, just possibly make a prison break from the dungeons of mars… ahh… memories…
in other news… while visiting at my mothers house last week, i found an original Danial-san Karate Kid action figure i thought to be long lost! the life-like karate kick and karate chop actions still work even!!! (((bliss)))

Maybe I'm the only one, but if I am at home and I have time, I totally go all out when making a sandwich. I love cooking and usually my foreman grill is used as a panini press instead of a grill. george would surely kill me…anyways, when I have to pack my lunch for work or school, I don't put too much time into the sammich, just because i am usually in a hurry, and I know that by the time I eat it, I will be too pissed off at the world to care if the onions are carmelized or not. oh well. A great easy yummy sandwich for me though (which actually isnt a sandwich at all) is an english muffin toasted so it is crispy on all edges, and then nutella on top. I seriously would make love to a jar of nutella….that is if i knew that nutella wasnt a slut.

*Ham* - cause I can't resist cucumber on a sandwich
*Beef* - Not a big fan of a sandwich on english muffin, but its beef… BEEF!!! So it beats tuna
*Tuna* - tuna on pumpernickel sounds pretty good, but tuna gives me bad breath all day, so… 3rd
*Lunchmeat* - never a fan of mystery meat. I imagine it's made of parts of animal that wouldn't sell on their own like noses and cheeks and such.
Now on to coloring eggs!!!

Roast beef with radish-should repeat really good on ya.
Tuna and fresh spinach-strong to the finich!
Lunch meat and green pepper-the onion roll ties it together.
Ham und swiss mit cucumber-never heard of raisin rye, so last in line.
Happy Invader Day!!

Am I the only one that finds it kinda funny that the Rambo pacakge has a minimum age 3 limit on it? There's no way you could get away with that today.
Sandwich survey:
1.) Lunch Meat- I love onion rolls and lunch meat isn't half bad.
2.) Tuna- That actually looks tasty, and I'm not a tuna fan.
3.)Roast Beef- It looks ok. Especially compared to the ham one.
4.) Ham- I actually like ham. But I HATE Swiss cheese. Not a big fan of cucumbers. Plus, raisin bread? Really?
When I'm at home sandwiches are simple mostly. Meat, cheese, mayo or honey mustard. If I get fancy I may add a tomato slice.
But I love getting fancy sandwiches at restaurants. I was at Arby's this week and got a Classic Italian. Delicious. Subway rocks. Also, even though I haven't been there in awhile Quizno's rules. I always get the Monte Crisco at Beningans.
If I want a fancy cheeseburger Red Robin rocks. Culvers is pretty good, too.

Tuna, lunch meat, roast beef then ham. I hate ham, and the thought of ham on raisin bread is almost too much for me. Now, if you'll excuse me, I must go back into lurk mode and not comment for another 6.5 months.

I'd go with tuna first because it's my favorite meat of the 4, and while I don't really like lettuce and would prefer diced tomatoes instead of sliced, I could handle those. Plus, I have never had pumpernickel before, so this would be a good time to try it.
Second, would be the luncheon meat because even though I don't know what that is, it looks like I could enjoy eating it. I also love green peppers and the onion roll also looks good, although I've never had it.
Third, the roast beef. I really don't like roast beef cold, I don't like sandwiches made with English Muffins although I do like English Muffins, and I've never had radishes so I don't know what they taste like.
Forth, the ham. I don't like sliced ham, I don't like swiss chese, I don't think I would like raisin rye as bread to a meat sandwich, and I don't like cucumbers.

Hm, a good question and I'm so glad it wasn't chocolate…I think after Easter, I'll be off chocolate for a damnably long while.
Just a question though, is that ordinary radish sliced up or horseradish sliced up?
Well, for me it's be the Roast Beef inna muffin first, because I just plain adore beef and muffins, and I can take radish or horseradish.
Second is the ham, cheese, cucumber on rye. I love swiss cheese and ham, and cucumber sandwiches are part of my heritage, so I'm expected to eat them (though usually on white bread, cut in triangle, piled high, served while sitting on a lawn watching boules and whilst drinking a nice cup of tea from bone china cups).
Then it's the Tuna, because I like tuna too.
Finally, luncheon meat. I don't really enjoy reformed meat. Opening Spam and other tinned meats make me feel slightly nauseaus. It's usually either got gelatin remnants or discoloured water with it.

Guise @ 03/22/2008 6:02 PM EST
Well, as a vegetarian, I wouldn't eat any of them.
But assuming I did…
1) The tuna sandwich. Pre-veg-days, I used to eat tuna pretty regularly, and as long as that thing wasn't full of excessive mayo, the combination of pumpernickel and spinach and tomato is a very pleasing to me.
2) The ham sandwich. Ham was something I ate occasionally before going veg, and I otherwise enjoy cucumber and am love with any type of cheese. Plus, the concept of raisin rye sounds absolutely delicious. It would have needed one more vegetable component for me to have rated it #1.
3) The luncheon meat. I have never eaten luncheon meat once in my life and personally find the concept repulsive, but I would eat that onion roll in a second…and the pepper.
4) The roast beef. I used to eat a limited amount of beef and I do love a good English muffin, but…this sandwich is otherwise way plain. Needs some cheese.

Glad your back Matt great post, I submitted this on mixx so if anyone is a member you can go vote for it, just type xentertainment in the search bar to find it. As far as the sandwich survey, I'm going to go tuna, roastbeef, ham, lunchmeat. That gnarly green pepper looks gross on a sandwich. This post is timely I just got a boot leg dvd of John Rambo, I cant wait to watch it.

"Sheath With String" - I love that! I love how his knife looks like it's glowing in the pic, too.
You know, I was pretty damn good at SkeeBall, and I remember winning tickets but I always ended up keeping them, thinking I'd bring them in next time, when I'd win more… but I never did - or I just flat out didn't have enough to get ANYthing I even remotely wanted. It was sad…
As for the sandwiches, well, I'm vegan so every one of them is off limits for me, but I even tried setting that aside in my mind, as if I weren't vegan, and I still couldn't come up with even one I'd eat "as is"
They are all so horribly gross. lol

Since people have been talking about the new flavors of Dr. Pepper, I thought I'd chime in. Do they sell regular versions of these flavors nationally? I've only seen the regular version of the cherry vanilla kind in one place, and it is awesome. Everywhere else it's only diet, which I hate. What did the Berries and Cream taste like? I think I had it once, but I don't remember it.
They need to bring back some Mountain Dew Game Fuel. The 7-11 still has it here as a flavor, but the pop is so much better than the Slurpee. The Game Fuel Slurpee has a more pronounced citrus flavor.

4: Tuna
All fish is devilmade, and I'm not too hot on spinach either. Fresh tomato is an easy way to ruin a good sandwich and an easy way to make a bad sandwich worse.
3: Ham und Cheese
I have no problem with ham & cheese and I quietely tolerate cucumbers, but you'll find me scubadiving in waste disposal plants before you see me eating raising bread.
2: Luncheon meat
How can I say no to luncheon meat? That sounds like something a person would sell you while praying to god you won't ask what it really is.
1: Roast Beef
Because beef is delicious, and so are radishes. We have a winner.

tuna just doesn't get any love.. - the other night a few friends and i were deciding upon what items we'd like on our gigantic Subway party sub we're ordering for WrestleMania next weekend.. - i spoke up first, offering "tuna!" to an extremely silent reaction.. - after that muted pause.. my suggestion was completley ignored and everyone else started listing safe, yet boring, choices.. - turkey? seriously? - if i'm going to watch Big Daddy V win the ECW title I want to wash it down with some tunafish!
Hm…first choice would have to be luncheon meat, because that seems the least disgusting. Second is roast beef, because, well… I like roast beef, but I HATE radishes. Then, baked ham, because I like 2 outta 3 things in it. But I barf when I have cucumbers. Last, well, I will cut myself if I have to eat that.
I've never seen Rambo, so I can't answer the question… sorry.

Lately I've been trying to avoid eating fast food for lunch every day, and the only way I can do it is if I know I've got something yummy waiting at home so I try to fix up a nice sandwich the night before and I tend to go all out. At Knott's Berry Farm I picked up this nifty Japanese collapsing sandwich box with the Peanuts characters on it…I usually leave the tomato whole and slice it up and throw it on right before I eat so the bread doesn't get soggy.
I've grown to like tuna in the form of a grilled steak or as sashimi/sushi, but tuna salad it just too cat food for me
Happy Saturday everybody!
If I was watching Big Daddy V win the ECW belt,I'd be washing it down with my own vommit.
I remember being in the crowd when he won the King of the Ring in Philly, and we were all shouting "ECW! ECW!"
God,if I knew then what I know now.
Matt, the only one of those sandwiches I would ever touch is the Ham and Swiss, allthough the cucumbers aren't helping.
Also I wanted to point out to you guys who may have Comcast Digital Cable, Armored Trooper VOTOMS episodes are now available to watch free on demand. For those of you who think anime is only stupid shit like Dragon Ball Z or Eureka 7,check this out. It's awesome hard sci fi.

I'm home from work, I'm almost 21, and I'm ready to Brawl!
Ok, survey first. My first choice is the roast beef. I love roast beef on sandwiches, I love radishes, and I love English muffins. No brainer.
Just barely behind is the tuna salad. The most realistic-looking sandwich of the bunch, and fresh spinach rules (and is so much better for you than plain old lettuce).
Next is the swiss/ham/cucumber combo. The filling's fine…but on raisin bread?
Last is the "lunchmeat." I love green peppers and onion rolls, but that lunchmeat…what IS it? I'm not about to eat something I can't identify.
I would have loved to get something from the glass displays in the Wildwood arcades. The truth is, it was the 90s before I amassed that many points in one trip. I'd usually just get a few small trinkets, like a paper fan or a few plastic rings or a few bottles of cheap kiddie nail polish.

1. Tuna–I like every component of this sandwich.
2. Luncheon Meat–I don't like to eat meat if I can't quickly identify the animal and body part(s) that were used to make it. But, I'll just have to trust that this isn't made of goat anuses.
3. Roast Beef–I hate radishes and English muffins, and I hate that rainbow-colored slime on roast beef. I would eat this only as a last resort.
4. Ham–Pork products make me nauseated every time I eat them.

I just got back from decorating easter eggs, and it was fun. Though we've gotten like a foot of snow and that makes it feel very un-eastery.
Also, I bought my son a pre-made Pokemon basket this year. Now I know he's gonna love it because now he'll have a Pikachu stuffed animal, but still, I feel a little cheap for going the drug store basket route.
Happy Easter Early everybody!

Don't worry kb, you're not alone. There were a lot of last minute Pre-Made Basket Buyers at CVS tonight.
"Hmm, there's a giraffe puppet, some generic candies, and it's already wrapped in cellophane. Sold!"
The only one I'd eat without choking is the ham and cheese, so that's #1 (but raisin rye?) I don't like radishes, but it makes 2nd place, as I'd sooner eat that than the one with the tuna salad (3rd place) or the one with the peppers (4th place). I find mayonaise and peppers to be horrible, horrible foods.
Although all 4 sandwiches are really weird, if you took the ham and cheese from the one, and the beef from the other, and then took the lettuce and tomato from the fourth, and put it on the onion roll, you'd have a great sandwich.
Where did these come from, anyhow?

I'm finally 21! Woo!
My first legal drink was a Captain & Coke (er, Pepsi). My only mistakes were having room temperature Pepsi, and possibly putting a little too much Captiain in it. Ick, I forgot how much I don't like that taste.
Happy last SNT before Easter everybody. Much like kb, we got quite a bit of snow where I live so it feels more like winter than the Easter season. I think Matt needs to start an Easter countdown calendar to help bridge the long gap between the Halloween Countdown/Thanksgiving Day Parade Review/Advent Calendar season.
Let's bring the Easter season back people! Now for some Bing Crosby singing, "I'm dreaming of a white Easter!"
BTW - Karate Kid is on AMC right now for anyone that's interested.

Happy Birthday Norbert!!!
Have one for me!
kinglash to comment about your post on the previous thread, mostly the reason why I want to record off of tv is to record clips off of tv and not really an entire episode of something. Like interviews of when my favorite celebrities are on tv, and I am a huge fan of Ross Mathews (Ross "the intern") on the tonight show so I would love to be able to record his segments so I can rewatch them on my computer. I wouldn't put them on youtube because of copyright but keeping them for myself would be worth the trouble. I visit his blog weekdays at nbc.com/rossblog he's quite funny and genuine. He just went on Rosie's cruise last week and I can't wait to see his video footage of that this week.
Anyway I picked up some groceries today on impulse I got a Paula Deen back to basics brand 2 slot toaster egg combo for 20 dollars on clearance. We need a toaster, there were 2 left so I thought eh, I can just return it if my best friend tells me he thinks we didn't/don't have the 20 dollars to spend on toast. I read the customer reviews on amazon.com (what a world we live in) and all of the reviews are great. People just put in the egg, put in a frozen sausage patty or a couple strips of bacon, an english muffin and go get ready for work. Then come back and have breakfast. I haven't used it yet, this week I switched my sleeping schedule to nights and I forgot to get english muffins (the toaster was the last thing I put in the cart) and other stuff for it so I might just go tomorrow and do more shopping for the stuff so Monday I can try it out. I'll tell you if everything works out
I'm going to bed right now I am very tired.
It's funny I looked it over while I was setting it up, it has what is called a poaching tray which looks like a little frying pan. The kind that a little girl would pretend barbie would cook with! Cute.
Man I can't believe people, at walmart today the easter section was ransacked. I couldn't find any jelly beans and there were only two peeps packages left. It was like people never seen easter stuff before. And the old people augh I can't believe I didn't kill anybody today. Those old people weren't even going 1mph it was more like 1/4 mph

Tuna- hate n- gag on tuna breath but juicy tomatoes, irony spinach and pumpernickel are too good to pass up.
Roast beef- beef is King and the watery, crunchity radish contrast is awesome.
Ham- smoky, pork goodness and sharp, jaw-clenching swiss cheese is right on but the rat-turd-like raisin bread? Not so much.
Mystery meat is last. If it was human meat I'd eat it…but it's not…is it?!

On the question of sandwiches: I'm going to be boring and choose none of them. Mainly because all of those look bad to me. Rambo DIDX wear that jade necklace. In fact, it was a plot point in 1 of his movies. Some girl he was protecting/allied with originally wore it but got shot or something. Her dying wish was to give it to Rambo, if other than the fact that he was the only person around. It seemed to give him magical powers because once he put it around his neck, he became even more "Ramboish" if there even is such a word. You get the idea.

My heritage does not allow a holiday to pass without overdoing it by at least 500%. I think fried meats and things are the Italian way of honoring the Lord. "You have risen? Enjoy this meatball."
Rev — We're in the same boat. This time, I at least convinced my family to let me only make artichokes for the adults, which still totals out at twenty gigantic stuffed artichokes requiring four simultaneously running pots. I couldn't wrap my head around the idea of making an additional 15 or so to accommodate kids who will eat 1-2 leaves at best before throwing them at each other.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY NORBERT!
Happy Easter everybody else! I just remembered that we promised to go see the out of town relatives today
It's the Italian side, so on the upside is the food, but on the downside there will be no smashing eggshells full of flour on unsuspecting victims like goes on at the Mexican side's celebration.
Matt, one of the Top Chef contestants totally screwed up making stuffed mushrooms this week and of course it reminded me of your superior recipe. She used blueberries in the stuffing
So I hope fresh spinach turns out to be tasty for sandwiches, because I just bought a two pound bag of the stuff at the produce market. And speaking of meat that's unrecognizable, I picked up some chorizo for breakfast too. Mmmm, yummy lymph nodes.
Justin - we have a VHS tape with a bunch of Easter specials on it. One of them is a PAAS one. It was something about an old couple with a son who got sick or fell down a well or something, and then the animals found a magic egg, and when the egg hatched it was some goofy magical duck thing that made everything better instantly.

1. Ham and swiss - I can handle the raisin rye and cucumbers. Might actually be good.
2. Tuna - nothing weird about this one, it's pretty basic and tuna is allright.
3. luncheon meat - hmmm… not even onion roll and bell pepper can mask the narliness of particle board lips and anus.
4. Roast beef and… radishes? Ugh. And what's up with the english muffin? That's not a breakfast sandwich.
Is the sandwich thing some sort of personality test?

Happy Easter all!
I spent my morning depressed I was 200+ miles away from my family. Spent the afternoon engrossed in cooking, and spent the evening curled up on the couch sipping wine and watching Sound of Music: my one true weakness. Yeah, today actually turned out ok

I just took a sip of my first Shamrock Shake…
… sooooo goooood!
I was fasting for Lent, and couldn't try it before today. Totally worth the wait!
Gah, this reminds me of the time I worked so fucking hard for a paycheck to buy an 'expensive' camping watch for BoyScouts. Turns out I still haven't been able to get the damned thing to work! GO TO HELL ALREADY BAD LUCK! YOU'RE NOT WELCOME HERE!

Once again, I have spent Easter doing nothing. I feel kinda guilty for not going to church.
Anyway. Cameron, you mentioned toasting sandwiches at Subway. I. Hate. Their toasted sandwiches. The toasting process completely removes all moisture from the bread and makes it gross. I worked there for about six months, so I know that if you only toast it for about five seconds, it's much better…but still not great.

Yeah I think if I'd have topped off Cadbury eggs with ham, I'd of had a stroke and died tonight. I was ready for a hardcore nap after Easter dinner as it was. Course my fb called right after and, well, plans changed.

Happy birthday Norbert, don't do something stupid your first time drinking and wake up without furniture in your dorm like i did.
ok, sandwiches. tuna first because tuna is the ultimate meat of all time, no matter what it is on. then the ham and swiss because swiss is the ultimate cheese of all time. and the other two tie for most disgusting things in the world.
in other news, if anyone remembers that girlfriend that i mentioned briefly around christmas, she broke up with me on saturday, which was uncool, but i'll live.
the end. keep your brains away from zombie jesus

Tuna sandwich #1 all the way. I had one for lunch every day in HS, I love pumpernickel (no seeds!) and I *always* put spinach leaves, not lettuce on sandwiches, and tomatoes just rock.
Roast beef #2. Radish slices intrigue me, and I think I would sneak mayo on there.
The other 2 sandwiches are barf o rama. I hate ham, and luncheon meat. I would eat a cheese sandwich on onion roll. That's about it.

Aimee @ 03/23/2008 11:53 PM EST
My first time drinking was actually a while ago, lol.
Hell, the first time I ever puked from drinking too much was last year, and that's how I got my first girlfriend
Thanks for the bday wishes, everyone!
Roast Beef, Radishes good.
Luncheon meant, green peppers are…palatable but unloved by me.
Baked ham, as I could reasonably take off the cucumbers that I would rather stab my eyeball than eat, though the rest of the sangwitch would be forever tainted.
Finally the sallad, as I'd rather take a bite of cucumber and promptly vomit than ever break my taboo of ever EVER E V E R! allowing tomatoe to cross my lips. Ever. And even removed, the sallad would be quite tainted by tomatoey badness.
there you have it. Any replies with my perfect logic? heh

1) ham… i like cucumbers more than radish
2) roast beef… i like radish more than green peppers
3)luncheon… i don't tjink i like anything on that sandwich, but…
4)tuna tastes like fecal matter smells (at least to me)

Wow, Lots-a-lots-a-legs… yes, I'm one of the three people here that remember them- funny thing about it is, besides a faint memomry of a sunday morning comercial (wedged between "Live Wire" shoes and Transformers), the only place Lots-a-Legs truly exist in my past is in Wildwood… had to be around the same year- '85, '86. I think those knock-offs were big prises on the boardwalk. I distinctly remember lounging around The Kings Inn, and being insanely jealous over our neighbor's Lots-a-Leggs.
Matt, where did (or do) you stay in Wildwood?
Benny: My childhood family trips were almost exclusively spent at either the Nassau Inn or Bristol Plaza. (We generally preferred Bristol.) When I started going with my friends in my late teens, we usually stayed near the boardwalk, at the Premiere and other hotels. Kind of prefer the Crest hotels, but you can't really do party groups at those without getting yelled at.

Posted by
Matt @ 03/24/2008 9:47 AM EST
The thing that sucks about the Crest is that it's dry… but after staying off of ghetto Pacific ave for a few years and ducking hookers, we tried The Caribbean in the Crest last year and it was AWESOME. A little pricey, but it's been completely redone in retro doo-wop style, and the atmosphere is so friggin cool… they pump doo-wop music into the room via ceiling speaker!
Does the doo-wop ever stop? Non-stop doo-wop might cause tempers to flare and the Wildwood Massacres would begin.
I've never been to Wildwood but it is a magical place in my imagination - it was the kind of place my less dorky cousins would go on vacation with their healthy, functional families for Pure Family Fun. The reviews I read here have sealed the deal. I'm way too old to enjoy it anymore, but I think some day I'll force a trip.

I look at those four sandwiches and say without a doubt I'd be hard pressed to buy any of them. However there in your rules you said we couldn't add anything but If we could take things off that the list would go like this.
1. Tuna fish sandwich. Though I would scrape the tomato and spinach off. I don't eat anything green or things that look like alien larva.
2. Roast Beef sandwich. The radishes would be tossed faster than last weeks coffee grounds.
3 Ham sandwich. Refer back to the not eating green things, I'd pick them off with a fork so I would not even have to touch them.
4 lunch meat sandwich. Like the cucumbers at least the onion roll would be sturdy enough to slide those peppers right into the trash.
Oh and not sure if it was mention before but Rambo wore the Jade pendant in Rambo 2 when the girl he was with was killed (It was hers)all of Rambo 3 and gave it away to another girl in Rambo 4

Roast Beef-
Cause I like roast beef and that can't be negated. I think the radishes are an interesting addition. The English Muffin is weird, bt I imagine tehre's mayo on it and Mayo makes Everythign better in my world.
Ham- Ham and Swiss Cheese is a Winning Combo. The addition of Cukes I think I can live with, though I'll more likely pretend it's cheese. And I imagine the Raisins in the bread would make a sweet-tasty flair.
Luncheon Meat- If only becuase I like Onion Rolls. Again, I imagine there's prbably Mayo on there and I'll be good. The peppers are weird tho.
Tuna- Tuna is evil. Tuna makes me dry heave. Me and Tuna are vile, sworn enemies. If anyone, ANYONE offers me a Tuna sandwich, I will punch them in the face. Seriously. It even made me sad that it had tomato and Spinach on it- I love tomato and spinach- even in my sammies!
So. Yea.
Horseradish!
happy easter, y'all.

I'd have to go with:
1. Roast Beef with radish at least makes some sense, and English Muffins are good.
2. Tuna is good, but on pumpernickle? Whatever, I'll eat it.
3. Ham on raisin bread? Really?
4. Luncheon meat on onion bread, that just sound horrible.
Where did you get this survey? Is it supposed to mess with my head, because it does.

Holy shit, and here I thought Rambo 2 made Jade special just to me. Goes to show ya…
1) The tuna salad sandwich- And I hate mayonnaise. Go figure.
2)Roast beef/ radish- I'm curious. Radishes give me heartburn but I take it as after dinner entertainment.
3)Mystery meat on onion roll- It's like eating 1975.
4)Swiss and Ham- Fuck you raisins! I hate you!

i have to say i am amazed and horrified by the number of people on here who absolutely refuse to eat vegetables… thats as far as im going to take that rant, since i seem to be in the minority… VEGGIES ARE GOOD ESPECIALLY GREEN ONES!!! in other sandwich related news, i created a sandwich today that was AWESOME! i put thin sliced pork chops, basil leaves, tomato, and onion, with a few spices onto whole wheat bread (with olive oil on the outside) and put the whole thing in to my cuisinart grill master (thats a fancy version of a george forman grill) and let me tell you it was AMAZING!!!
now then, i have just found out that my supposedly salaried job is going to dock me pay for taking to much time off last week, so i am going to go get drunk… hope things are well with everyone else! ill probably be unemployed after i curse out my boss!!!

Tommy,
Never said I don't eat vegetables, just not green ones. I like corn and carrots. Aside for not liking the taste of what seems to me like tasting grass, there is a kind of medical reason. I'm on blood thinners. Broad green leafy vegetables make my blood all goofy. If there is on thing I don't like is feeding the local vampires to much. So, I think they taste like crap, and medically speaking I'm suppose to, well not avoid them but watch the intake. Of course I'm suppose to avoid Booze too but that ain't happening.

Hmmm…when I go to Wild Wood again, I want to go to that one retro looking hotel…i forget its name. Last time we stayed at this place about 10 min from the boardwalk…called The Marley…it was a bunch of little bungalows all lined up and very small and cute. I used to have a real lottsa legs…the short one…i know they came in different lengths. Oh matt do you remember the one summer when all the boardwalks had those monkey puppets? they looked like real chimpanzees with clothes on and they squeaked and you wrapped their arms around your neck??? let me find a pic

Ann- Point Pleasant better than Wildwood??? Have you lost your mind?? Don't get me wrong- I love me some Point- I spent more time in Frank's Fun Center as a kid than I possibly account for- but Wildwood is the mother of all boardwalk towns.
I'm not actually from Belmar- I'm from Staten Island (and just moved to Long Branch)- I just do the whole Belmar shore house thing with my friends. Was just at Bar A for the St. Pats parade a few weeks ago!
Oh Dear Lord … please, Belmar Benny, please don't tell me you're one of those people who hangs out at D'Jai's!
But yeah, completely concur on the whole Wildwood is better than Point thing. Wildwood is better than Sleazeside which is better than Point which is better than Ocean City.

Lemur @ 03/25/2008 10:18 AM EST
Hey, D'Jais is a great place as long as your able to mentally block out all the douchebags! Its kinda an aquired taste for the non-meathead. The Tropical Pub is more my typical speed though (rest in pieces).
There's no real comparison between Wildwood and Point Pleasant- just two completely different things going on. There isn't much in this world better than an afternoon at the Tiki Bar, followed by some drunk funhouse action!
Love the Tiki Bar in Point Pleasant when it isn't too busy. Decent arcades, too, and very clean place overall. A little on the small side and no real rides for adults, but a good day trip.
