I'm booored. But I went to Disney World last week and then I ran back to X-E and read the Disney article and I was like "YAY! I SAW THOSE THINGS!"

I've got such a headache. This is the third weekend in a row that I've needed to get 80 hours of work done in 48.

Jeff: Yay! Where did you stay? We're thinking about going back. Polynesian remains the top pick but I'm really curious about the Wilderness Lodge.

This feels like the first SNT in forever, which is great.
I just saw Horton Hears a Who. I give it 3 stars. I give the popcorn 1 1/2, kinda disappointed in that area.

This might be "so last week", but has anyone seen Vantage Point yet? I'd recommend it. I've heard it's kind of a homage to Rashomon, in that it shows the assassination of the (fictional) US President from various points of view. I think that was the first new movie I've seen since Cloverfield.

My boyfriend's actually participating in the Disney College Program, so he has an apartment/dorm type thing that's located really close to the parks. He knows everything about Disney World though, so I'll ask for the inside scoop and let you know what I hear.

I put in some overtime hours myself this week, but I love my job so it was no big whoop. I need to add more shit to my cubicle, though, I took this cute photo of myself at work today and realized there's waaaay to much blank wallspace and empty nooks and crannies.

Well that would explain why the doctors are missing a couple hundred thou in revenue….
But to be completely honest, a majority of my time at work is spent staring at my screens completely in autopilot while really I'm thinking about sex. Occasionally I have to look up a code, check my gmail, make a witty retort, and send some text messages.

thats a link to a video showing what they do.

We're headed back to Disney May 1st for 10 days. Since we're going 10 days and we're getting the Super Duper OMFG Deluxe Dining Plan (having all your meals pre-paid so you don't have to carry cash/credit-cards ROCKS), we can't afford the Polynesian or the Wilderness Lodge (but I'd love to stay in either). Port Orleans looks like it'll be nice, though. We liked the Coronado last time.
10 days seems to be just enough time to reach maximum relaxation, and just as you get bored with the place, it's time to go. Worked well last time.
Now if only I weren't TERRIFIED of flying.

Long-time reader, first-time poster…just wanted to say thanks for keeping such a great site together. I've been reading since the very beginning, through all the highs and lows and still check the blog almost daily to see what's going on in our corner of the pop culture world.
I'm leaving tomorrow for a 7-month deployment aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln with our mighty Navy, so I'll be away from updates until October…at which time I plan on returning home and entrenching myself in the madness of the Halloween Countdown.
Thanks for the laughs and the nostalgia, and keep up the good work, Matt…I'm looking forward to a warm homecoming from The Ghost With The Most in a few months!

Andrew, I thought Vantage Point looked like it was a take on Rashoman. That and the fact that Matthew Fox seems to play a sizable part had me hoping it would be good. I'll probably check it out on DVD/HBO, thanks for the rec! I saw Be Kind Rewind last night, thought it was hilarious, if a little goofy.
Happy SNT!

It is my weekly cleaning day at the apartment, since I am hope only for sleeping during the week, and I have myself scheduled in a ridiculous way: I have wedding dress shopping at 1 PM, lunch with mom and sis at 3 PM, and cake tasting at 6 PM. I miss being a bum, too.
I spent today at work. And, from the look of things, I'm working the next few weekends too.
This is so not how to spend a Saturday!
I did timer-tape the cartoons. So, at least I got to see the latest TMNT episode.
I definitely miss being unemployed!
Today starts my spring break, so for the next 8 days I am a bum. Except I'm doing home improvement projects. Bleh, now it doesn't so great. What's the recipe for that Steven Seagal/Armageddon drink?

Posted by
FyarlGirl @ 03/16/2008 12:45 AM EST
muppet,
I didn't know it was possible to sit through any movie with Shia LeBoeuf in it more than once. I thought Transformers was so bad I had to turn it off after an hour. In fairness, it wasn't all his fault. However, I am now worried that Indiana Jones 4 will be terrible because of him. I hope he dies in it. In the first 5 minutes.

I'm watching the first season of the Smurfs on DVD and chugging soda to try and stay awake. I've got tomorrow all filled up between various friends so I'm not gonna get shit done. So yeah, I'm also missing spending Sunday loafing about in my pajamas and being a bum.

you should be like me and move back in with your folks. then you can be a total bum and not feel too bad about it. except when they come home from somewhere and you're pretty drunk. but then you can get them to make you some grilled cheese and you don't feel so bad.

FyarlGirl,
You must be referring to the Seagalmageddon. I'm glad people remember it. I had attempted to do a gimmicky thing with it, but I don't think it would work out. As my brother told me, "All the liquors I had mixed together would taste terrible." So, I was thinking of getting to the core of the idea. A drink that uses Steven Seagal's Energy Drink while causing an armageddon (Seagal's Specialty) upon your Sobriety, Etiquette, Aptitude, Good judgment, Attractiveness, and Levelheadedness. (Still got the gimmick in there!) Anyway, here's my pretty close to final recipe. If anyone has anymore recommendations, let me know.
1 shot gin
2 shots Cherry Vodka
1 shot 151 or Everclear
5-6 ozs of Steven Seagal Lightning Bolt–either Cherry Charge or Asian Experience. Both are terrible, although the cherry kind has a slightly pleasant cherry taste for about 3 nanoseconds.
Basically, it's a big drink, like a Long Island Iced Tea. Half should be liquor, the other half should be the Energy Drink.
I sent an earlier recipe to drinksmixer.com but they are drink Nazis and didn't accept it.
Note for your well-being: I actually haven't tried drinking this yet and am basing everything off of past drinking experience. Drink at your own and your liver's risk.

Crap, missed another SNT cause I was at work all night. Oh well, nice to see Bill and Fyarl Girl again. Haven't seen them in a while.
Mystie, Groovy cubicle you got there. Makes me miss the couple of jobs I did have where I had my own cubicle. I work in an office now where we all kind of move around and you kind of just grab whatever computer/station is free, but I have had jobs where I had my own space. At the last one, I got in a spot of trouble for hanging up Halloween decorations all around it and was told to take them down cause they were afraid that clients would walk in and be offended. Bloody fascists! Oh, and nice t-shirt in the picture there too.
Rich, I'm with you on that one. This world will be a better place when Shia has left it. I'm so sick of him ruining all the movies that I'm looking forward to. He was a sore spot in Transformers, now he's screwing up Indy, and I just read he was cast in the movie of Y: The Last Man, which is one of the best comics ever made. I was really looking forward to the movie, but now I'm kind of dreading it. Cillian Murphy was rumored to be cast for a long time and I would love to see that, but now we're stuck with Even-effin' Stevens again. I hate him and his two facial expressions.
Eddie Lightning Frog, Fright Night is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Was that the first time you had seen it?
"Oh, you're so cooool, Brewster!"

Matt, I totally understand the overworked element. My job recently decided that they weren't making overtime mandatory but to feel free to work 40 or more hours every two pay periods. As it stands now, I typically leave for work around 7:00 AM and return home by about 9:00 - 9:30 Mon-Fri. It doesn't leave a lot of time for much else.

Anyway, we went to this really great seafood place called joes crab shack, and treated him to a great meal. We had one of the waitresses come over and do a dance for him in a grass skirt and a coconut bikini, lol. He didn't know it was about to happen either. Then after that was done, we sung happy birthday to him and gave him his cards and present. We got him a gift certificate to his favorite music store.

I can't believe it's already Palm Sunday. I am definetly NOT in the Easter mood this year. I haven't watched any Easter specials, and I don't even think I'll be watching Jesus Of Nazareth this year either. Actually, I am glad that Lent will be over soon. I just want to be able to eat candy again! I should stock up on Easter candy so that come next Sunday morning, I can gorge myself in those tasty treats.
There's not much I can say that's been happening to me lately. My car's been acting goofy so I didn't try to take it up to Dallas yesterday and therefore I missed the Stars' game. I've been having a real "I don't care" attitude about everything. In a way, I'm glad I'm single even though it sucks because you get lonely very often. Oh well, at least I get to do what I want when I want to (when I'm off-duty that is). So, just thought I'd make my appearance before anyone wonders what happened to me.
By the way, I AM Legend comes out on DVD Tuesday as well as Enchanted. Oh, and if you're looking for a good comedy fix, might I recommend "Death At A Funeral." Watched it last night and laughed my ass off! Definetly got me ready for SNL. Okay, I'm off to go see "Horton Hears A Who" so I'll catch you all later!

The only not-awesome thing about it was wasting almost two hours of my life watching August Rush. I was expecting it to be a little silly, but heartwarming. Instead, it's a steaming pile of crap with some nice music thrown in. Seriously, I think 15-year-olds wrote the script.

SNT stands for Saturday Night Thread. Here at X-E we try every Saturday to have a blog comment thread (string of comments) that is open for a laid back discussion of what everyone is doing that Saturday night. They can talk about movies they seen or are going to see, what junk food they bought to pig out on that night, what shows they are watching or planning on watching, video games they are playing, whatever. It's a free discussion time.

80 hours of work in one weekend, I hear ya Matt!!I do graphic design and websites and I've been in the same boat for two months now. I love my work, and I don't complain for having acquired many clients and new projects, but seriously, it's all happening at once and I've been up ’til 4am more nights than not, and I too have a headache right now. And I feel so bad for not having updated my own readalong site lately, I'm afraid I might be losing visitors. And my poor video game consoles wonder where I've been. I find myself envious of kids on Spring Break. What keeps me going is the idea that someday it will get back to a normal amount of work that I can do in normal hours of the day, and that day will be so sweet.

Guise That sounds like it is something to get sick in your stomach over! Since our move into this new place we have been trying to eat healthier. I just wolfed down a chcoolate vanilla jello pudding pop. Even though if you look on the box for those things they are just as "healthy" as the sugar free Popsicles. You just don't eat 5 at once.
But we have been buying boneless skinless chicken breasts like crazy and IMO eating pretty healthy. We eat green salads almost everyday. It tastes great though it's not like on tv when they eat a grey shriveled up little piece of chicken with a STEAMED (always steamed) spinach leaf when the doctor says their cholesterol is high and they need to go on a diet and cut out all of the good tasting food. Even though about 3 days ago I made some oatmeal raisin cookies. They were good!

Wichesbrew82 @ 03/16/2008 9:48 PM EST
On the subject of eating healthy…I have been living in China for the past 6 weeks or so, and I've been dropping pounds like a mofo. Red meat is a rarity in most traditional Chinese cuisine, and if you do actually have some served to you at a meal, it's normally no more than a mouthful. Although my diet over here is causing me to lose weight, I shudder to think what my blood-pressure numbers are nowadays because almost anything a person may consume for sustenance in China is FUCKING SALTY! But even if my arteries are bulging at the seams and my heart is dying a little more with every beat from the effort, at least I look a little better with my shirt off.
The one food-item that I miss more than any other from back home is CHEESE. Apparently, the Chinese have never heard of the stuff, and I am almost to the point of being ready to murder half the population of Shaan xi province if it means I can have a slice of sharp cheddar on a Triscuit. Mmmmm, cheese…

Posted by
The Yeti @ 03/16/2008 10:01 PM EST
Right, the Asians know nothing of cheese. This makes me happy, actually, because I hate the stuff. I wouldn't have to always be saying "no cheese on that please" if I lived in Japan.

Friday I went to a few gun stores and looked at prices on a 9mm. Sunday I went with friends to a shooting range and rented a Baretta to try it out. I live in Texas. Most of us are shooting from age five on. Today I took my mother in law to McAllister's Deli, bought new shoes at Target, watched the Simpsons and Cops, then worked on sewing my dress for a wedding I am the matron of honor in. Exciting, eh? Next week my college in on spring break.

Muppet Baby @ 03/16/2008 11:56 PM EST

I don't know, my gramma always said cheese was "binding." Don't overdo it when you get some. Cramp city.
Yeah, the 60 hour week thing is draining the life out of me (and my wife, and my kids). Crap way to live. There's a fine line between trying to better your situation by throwing yourself into work, and over-sacrificing. Once you get wrapped up in the work thing, it's easy to forget what's important. Stay focused on the big picture, Matt. "Too much work and no play…" and all that.
FM
Yeah, cheese'll block you up. Be sure to eat your giant slices of cheddar with some high-fiber crackers or something. XD
A nice mild cheese is okay on pizza, and certain kinds of cheese sauces are okay (like alfredo), but…I really don't see how people can eat the stuff cold by itself. The smell of it makes me gag sometimes.
Oh man, overworking sucks. My fiance worked a bunch of hours with few days off and was ready to stab somebody in the face until recently. Now this week, he's not getting enough hours. Consistency, people. That's all we're asking for here.

Posted by
Annette @ 03/17/2008 6:52 AM EST
Annette, Thank you so much for standing up for us fellow cheese-haters. I think it's just about one of the most disgusting things God has ever put on this earth, and I'm glad I'm not the only one. The only cheese I can tolerate at all is on pizza, but I spend half the time eating pizza picking it off cause there's always too much. I won't touch any other kind of cheese at all, not even cheese flavored stuff. Yeah, I know what you mean, always having to say "no cheese on that, please" to everything. All my friends think I'm crazy. I'm also incredibly anti-mayonnaise.
Jeff and Jessica Marie, I, too, have never known the joy of Disney World, or Disneyland, or any Disney themed place. I've always wanted to go. Maybe one day, late into my adult life, I'll be able to run around and act like an idiot while eating over-priced food and hanging out with creepy giant mouse mascots. I'm actually not being sarcastic here for once. I really would like to go.
Speaking of working too much, I just got in from work a little while ago. I put in a 14 hour shift tonight and am somewhat exhausted. There were still 3 people there (including TOmmy!, who've I indoctrinated into this X-E thing) when I left. To top it off, I've somehow picked up some kind of bug in the last couple of days that has caused me to all but lose my voice completely. My throat is one big scratchy, sore mess and I can't stop coughing or sniffling. Don't get too close to your monitor if you're reading this. You don't wanna catch whatever I've got, trust me. I just hope it goes away by Thursday when I have my radio show, cause I'm going to sound pretty pitiful over the air if it doesn't. I'm sure I'll be alright though.
I blame cheese. I don't know how, but somehow cheese is responsible for this.

I'm an advocate for cheese, because when you have very little money you find cheese on toast goes with damn near anything. But then again, I've never suffered cheese side-effects (besides probably weight gain, cholesterol, mildly burnt mouth). I wear the cheese, the cheese does not wear me!
I also like to try fresh flavoured cheese…cheddar and apricot, cheddar and mango, stilton and cranberry, garlic mozarella. Though, I actually live only a few miles away from the real Cheddar, so it'd be rude not to like it.

Aw, Norbert. *hugs* I was out with a friend the other day and he was ragging on me for quoting The Simpsons even more than he does. We were at the $5 pizza buffet and he always eats like 8-9 plates full! Simpsons quotes are like a buffer zone. I almost got him to choke on some pepperoni when I belted out, "And then the doctor said that BOTH my eyes were lazy, and that's why it was the best summer ever!"
Also on the subject of cheese, my pop pop used to say, "If you eat too much cheese, your asshole will grow shut."
:)

I love cheese. Grilled cheese sandwiches, regular cheese sandwiches w/ a liberal amount of butter on it, string cheese, quesadillas, list goes on. Even though we have a brick of goat cheese that we have no clue what to do with.
Anyway one time I ate a lot of grilled cheese sandwiches or something and I got constipated. So much it was really painful and I took milk of magnesium to get it out of there. My best friend told me not to overdo it or I would be in pain but I couldn't help it.

"And then the doctor said that BOTH my eyes were lazy, and that's why it was the best summer ever!"
I bet the happiest day of your life was when the doctor told you that you didn't have worms any more.
I LOVE cheese. About the only kind I can't really stand is cottage cheese. Although I did try fresh mozzarella not too long ago and wasn't too impressed. It wasn't bad or anything, but compared to the "nonfresh" (shredded, block, etc.) stuff I wasn't impressed.
There is one cheese dish that is DEFINTELY overrated, and that is homemade mac and cheese, especially when they put crackers or whatever crunchy crap they put on top. Plus, it's rarely cheesy, I find. Not to big a fan of tuna noodle casserole either. Casserole is codeword for crap in a pan.
I will ALWAYS pick a cheap box of mac and cheese over the homemade version.

JLAJRC, I always pick cauliflower cheese over macaroni cheese. Though, I'll take cauliflower/brocolli cheese over cauliflower cheese.
Cheesy smushed potato with spring onion alongside BBQ/ordinary grilled meat, and a mixed peppers, peas, corn medley and red onion is good in summer too. Especially served with chilled wine or beer.

Goob When I used to work at a restaurant, we had a goat cheese salad. And we would heat up the goat cheese which was mixed with a little bit of cream cheese and some herbs (like basil and oregano) and then put some crostinis into it. It was delicious. I am definitely a cheese advocate as well. Vive le fromage!

Hey Matt, I just noticed that there is a "Help Wanted" sign in the pet shop window. You should get a part time job there for discounted fish and those kickass sunken castle things you put in the aquarium. Plus, I'm sure you'll get to keep all the reject fish that they dont want to display.

Haha, you're welcome, DJ D. I've always hated the stuff, ever since I was little bitty. Of course, back then I was more adamant against it and wouldn't touch something if it even had the slightest flake of cheese on it. Mac n' cheese doesn't count for some reason. Probably because it doesn't taste like real cheese. XD
I also hate milk. God, I hate it. I have to have my fiance sniff to check if it's bad because it always smells bad to me. Even skim milk is too much for me sometimes.
Also, I've never been anywhere, much less Disney World Land. The only big park I've been to is Six Flags Over Texas, and I only went because my man begged me to. Rollercoasters + 90-degree humid heat + me = epic fail.

Annette, Man, we are so on the same wavelength then, cause I hate milk too! Always have. I buy a tiny bit here and there for cereal but that's the only thing I ever use it for, and even then I only use enough to get it wet a little bit. I refuse to drink it, and yeah, I know what you mean. I'm always paranoid that it's gone bad and have to get other people to smell it for me. It just always smells the same unless it's gone way bad, in which case it's obvious. Oddly enough, I love ice cream.
On the subject of quoting TV shows, Seinfeld seems to be in my permanant vocabulary, and is kind of my test when I meet new people to see if I can get along with them. If they pick up on the constant quotes, then I know there's a possiblity I can get along with them. Squidbillies is starting to become that way with me too.

Goddamn it…that's something else that I'm missing over here in the Far East: MILK! Real milk, anyway. They sell some kind of godless, non-dairy, faux-milk over here in cartons. I tried it once and recoiled in such a fashion that most people typically reserve for the viewing of autopsy footage or tribal genocide. I can't understand it…this country can host an Olympics, but it can't offer me milk. Something doesn't add up, here…

Went to see Doomsday tonight–the new one with Kate Beckinsale. Great movie if you can suspend your disbelief and check your brain at the door. I had to call shenanegans (i.e. bullshit) on a few things in it, but otherwise it looked great and was a lot of fun, as long as you don't expect too much practicality or realism. Surprising though, since it was directed by Neil Marshall, who directed what I thought was the best horror movie to come out in 2006–Descent. Actually, probably one of the best horror movies I've ever seen, and I've seen a whooooooole lot.

vwarb,
Yes, I consider myself an ardent admirer of John Q. Paramedic and the craft he administers. I had never thought too highly of the paramedics of Pike County, Ohio (the county in which I crashed my truck and also the county in which I spent my childhood) simply because it is a decidedly redneck county brimming with unwashed, uneducated degenerate meth-chefs. However, my opinion of the population (its paramedic constituency, at any rate) was drastically modified when a handful of Pike County residents BROUGHT ME BACK FROM THE DEAD!!! And then, as if that feat by itself wasn't enough to garner my reverence, they went and BROUGHT ME BACK FROM THE DEAD AGAIN ABOUT ELEVEN SECONDS LATER!!! I will never again have a negative comment to make about Pike County paramedics (or any paramedics, in general), for it is by virtue of them "just doing their jobs" that I am alive and kicking today. I cannot fathom the stress inherent to performing the duties of a paramedic. Theirs is truly a profession that deserves respect in its highest measure.

I think it's good to have the McRib at least once in your life if you like Ribs. The meat itself is neutral. Unlike actual ribs, it's real bland, and it's not really cooked or marinated or whatever it's called in BBQ sauce like actual ribs. They just take a unseasoned rib and pour a ton of BBQ sauce on it. That's a McRib. With that being said, I enjoyed it, although I'll be sticking to Big Macs. Be prepared to use a lot of napkins. I had to wipe my hands after each bite. It might be better to use a fork and knife.

Easter is this weekend? Wow. Kinda snuck up on me, there. We don't celebrate Easter here in China. We don't believe in stuff like Jesus or pastel color-palettes or chocolate. We celebrate the Qingming (Pure Brightness) Festival on April 4th. During that festival, we offer sacrifices to our fallen ancestors and sweep out their tombs out of reverence, all the while worshipping no particular invisible man up in the clouds, sporting primary colors, eating raw sugar cane sold by a vendor in the street, and remembering that NOT A SINGLE ONE OF US IS ANYTHING SPECIAL AND WE ARE DAMNED LUCKY TO BE SO UTTERLY AVERAGE.
(The Chinese people have been nothing but extremely helpful and friendly to me during my stay here, but a lot of them could stand to lighten up a bit…and bring me some cheese. Mmmm, cheese…)

To my fellow XE Brawlers, I come with this great news:
I have discovered an easier way to unlock Sonic. One of the easiest ways is to beat Subspace Emissary to get him, but I found a quicker way.
All you have to do is beat Classic Mode with 10 characters. I had no idea, and when I beat Classic tonight with Gannondorf, all of a sudden I got the "Challenger Approaching!" screen with Sonic.
…I suggest beating SSE to get him. If you're somewhat of a Smash Bros novice, I suggest going that way. He's an absolute bitch to defeat. I had to try twice, and I got lucky with Kirby and lucked out with getting his Final Smash to do it.
You guys are going to make me break my once-a-week maximum visits to McD's if you keep on talking about sandwiches from there. I'd ask that you refrain from such talk. I would like to not die at 32.

I'd be able to beat "it" on hard (I'm assuming its Classic Mode…I hear the end of SSE is freakin hard on anything above Easy), but I'd rather just beat Classic with everyone first. Good for you, and all that. Not sarcastic.
That, and in the 2 games before Brawl, the difficulty went from Very Easy to Very Hard. This time around, they got rid of Very easy and added Intense. At first I thought they merely shifted the titled of Difficulty.
I was wrong. The AIs have gotten smarter since Melee, even on 1 difficulty. Some things in Challenges Mode requires to beat stuff on Intense. No Thanks, I'll just Golden Hammer em.
As for "Mains" (I was never a fan of the Nerd Brawl terminology, but "Main" just seems pretty basic and self-explanatory), I think mine are:
Ice Climbers
Marth
Lucario
Meta Knight
I'd say Gannondorf too, but they REALLY made some changes in Brawl to him that I loved in Melee. I used to kick everyone's ass as Gannondorf, now I just think they made him worse, despite one of the best Final Smashes in the game. Bastards.
Kneg, thats your Brawl Code, right? If so, I'll be waiting for a challenge.

Goob That video effing rocked my socks. But alas, I forgot to tell you the methodology behind cooking it. In order to heat up the goat cheese/creamcheese mixture, we would blend them cold, and then put a little dollop (thats right, I used the word dollop) onto a bread plate, and then heat it up in the microwave for only about 10-15 seconds. Then we would plop it on top of the salad greens and put the crostini into the mass o' cheese. The spaghetti seasoning thing is weird, I didn't know there was any red in it…but like you said, we all learn each time we cook…maybe that's why I like it so much, because each meal is like my own little experiment. The crostinis looked good, but after you put the cheese on them, I kept asking myself "where did that chicken wing come from?" It's cool though, and I commend you on trying something new, without any real explanation from my end. Also, thanks for the 5 second staring contest at the end, I totally stared back. HA!

I have been reading your blog for years, but this is the first time I've ever felt the irresistable need to post something. First, what is SNT? And second, do you lack slack? Maybe you miss slack, but you probably don't miss being a bum, because bums don't have such impressive collections of miscellaneous priceless crap.

Rev. BackItOnUp @ 03/19/2008 12:38 PM EST
lol!! I'm glad you appreciated my video. I just wanted to do a video with no editing for you because editing is so friggin time consuming and I thought this wasn't worth the time. I could of not put the seasoning in there and it would of tasted good. It tasted like to me like mozzarella string cheese but more dense. It said on the package cheddar cheese flavored goat cheese. I am open minded about cooking yes. One of my cousins is such a picky eater she won't eat a tomato or whip cream. She'll eat spaghetti though.
Staring contest lol! I didn't do that on purpose I was just doing my 'I have nothing left to say and I'm thinking of something to say right now' look.

What SNT means was already explained by me in this thread. Search for Goob and skim my comments I believe it was my first comment of the thread.
He always had an "impressive amount of priceless crap" he is a typical 20 something that cannot hold onto spending money for more then 24 hours. Before he had his job that he has now he worked at home selling on ebay. I know way too much about these things.

Thank You Goob. I knew I could count on you. That's what I get for faithfully reading the blog, but never going near the comments.
You've got an authoritative way about you that really makes sense to me! You are President Goob.

Rev. BackItOnUp @ 03/19/2008 1:41 PM EST
Ahh!! That is why you read the blog but have never figured it out. I have been thinking lately everytime someone asks what is SNT they are being a smartass. Because EVERY THREAD someone asks anymore. But you genuinely were clueless so I am glad I didn't snap at you.
It's like last Halloween when people complained Matt wasn't updating like he promised. Remember that people?? Good times!!
And I am not going to be president anytime soon. I am a butch lesbian. Maybe my children's children's children's children's children's children but not me. Watch the video I made for Leigha definitely not president material lol!

Goob @ 03/19/2008 1:46 PM EST
Don't sell yourself short, Goob. Almost everyone is president of something, and everyone else is searching high and low for someone to lead them.
I am converted - I'll read the comments from now on - there is some very critical information embedded within!

Rev. BackItOnUp @ 03/19/2008 2:56 PM EST
I'm glad your converted. I think reading the comments are half the fun of visiting X-E. You get to hear everybody's stories of their childhood, not just Matt's. Thank you for your kind words.
Hey everybody I'm watching part of a tales of the darkside marathon on the sci fi channel, later on toon disney they are airing the brave little toaster. I have a copy on my comp so I'm going to skip it but I thought I would give everyone a heads up. It's at 5pm here so it might be later/earlier where you live. I am in pacific time. Also they are airing Wayne's world this week (tomorrow or the next day? I don't know I was flipping through the guide pretty fast) on comedy central.
And Leigha the spices are more mild now. Which is good because last night it was so rich a little bit went a long way. Now I can eat two without suffering too much.

I've been on X-E for a few years now and still didn't know what SNT stood for.
And I try to read most of the blogs too.

Has anyone else noticed that Easter seems to be getting hosed this year? In past years, it seemed you could count on a couple of Easter specials on various channels but ABC has been the only one to air anything (at least that I've noticed). One would think with the rabid commercialization of our culture, we should be Easter-ized by now. Hard to believe it's this Sunday….
Glad to hear the McRib is back - I love that wonderful sandwhich. Now if I could only get McDonalds to serve Chicken Fajitas again. Or if I could find Kosher (read: made with real sugar, not corn syrup) Coca-Cola in my area….

jjwspider @ 03/19/2008 10:11 PM EST
I didn't know there were Easter specials.

Anyone else remember the Claymation Easter Special from back in the day? It was hilarious. I agree. There is a lack of Easter specials these days. I went back and watched that one on You Tube not too long ago and it's still funny.

I looked for your code, Norb. Couldn't find it. Post again, plx.
It is Link. It is soooo Link. I can't stand those Fire Emblem idiots.

That's a triple stack of awesome right there, Mystie! I'm envious.
Speaking of Easter specials, anybody find it weird that there's no mention of Jesus in the Easter Beagle special? You'd think Linus would bust out one of his little speeches about tidings of great joy, but it's all Marcy being a moron.
I don't think I've posted my Brawl code yet, it's 1891-0877-0050. I'm adding/will add everybody that's posted their code already.
I added you, Squee. If anyone else specifically wants me to add them (outside of Norb and Squee) just let me know and I'll dig back to find your number.
AIM is probably the way to go to contact me. I'll start using it again, I swear

Please no crying over the McRib. In your freezer section OnCor sells a box of 6 frozen BBQ porks that you bake in your oven for 50 min. They are the same as McRibs and I eat 2 for lunch every day on a bun. Instant satisfaction.

Yeah, I wish I had a Wii too. Wah. We don't have a PS3 either. Not that I'm really wanting one or anything, but when Metal Gear Solid 4 comes out, and we still don't have a PS3, I'm gonna be sad, and so will my man. D:

JillS, an alternative for anyone else like me (lazy, English, broke)…you can get Rustlers BBQ Pork Rib (in a bun), which microwaves in just over a minute and doesn't dry out like most microwave stuff, it even comes with BBQ sauce.
It's great, when you've been out partying (I might someday) you can throw in a burger without burning the place down, and in the morning they can help hangovers with Sausage and Bacon Baps.

Goob for Prime Minister. Goob for Speaker of the House.
A candidate should inspire confidence and a feeling of security. I don't even know Goob, but I know how I'm casting my vote.

Oo. Easter is only a few days away.
Soon… the fondant goodness will be sucked out of every single Cadbury Egg within a Three mile radius by Yours Truly. I will possibly enter a diabetic coma shortly thereafter, but I will be Sated- 6 weeks of Lent abstinence from Candy has done its toll. And oh… shall I pay.

Man, all this Smash Brothers talk almost makes me want to go out and buy a Wii. Amost, is the key term there. I've played it and honestly just can't get into it. Just not my bag. I'm more of a PS3 guy….or will be, maybe in June when they come out with the rumble pack and I can actually afford one.
Anyways, for those of you guys who listen to my show, it's on tonight at 2-4am (eastern). You can listen to it streaming live here. In honor of Women's History Month, I'm doing my yearly Goddesses of Goth edition of the show. I'll be playing nothing but female artists all night.

kinglash OMG that makes my whole week!! I always feel like the regulars here roll their eyes at my comments when I post a really long comment (but I do it anyway because I feel every word is relevant to the story) and when I post a lot at once answering people's questions and stuff. Come to think of it why would anyone not like me answering people's questions and stuff like that? Huh.
Guise The family size platter of BBQ rib patties I got were 3 dollars and some change. Definitely good for those weeks where a bunch of bills crept up on you and you need some cheap food. But I understand about food you get there we can't get here and food you can't get there and we can just go to the local store and get some. That sucks but that's life. Eh, whatareyagonnado.
And about the video games thing, I decided practically literally overnight I don't want to play serious modern games even though Wii's make me curious and I played a bit of Mario Galaxy at a store around Christmas and it seemed like a lot of fun so I wouldn't mind having one. BUT I would rather have a PS2 I know obsolete but this last summer I got two DDR pads for it and a PS2 game 20 bucks for all so I just need a PS2 to play with them. DDR is really the only modern game I am interested in anymore and exercise doesn't hurt. I had it for xbox, the pad and a 20 dollar game but my sister (LONG story) stole the xbox, dance pad and game from me among other things. I am not speaking to hear anymore. After 10 months of living with her and me being overwhelmed with stress I moved out and found out certain things were missing. Well she denied it and my Grandma actually told me I should cut my losses and didn't believe I had things in the first place. I moved out a year from last October.
I feel being around me is a gift and a pleasure and she doesn't deserve it and that is just the way it is. Anyway please don't pay attention to that too much I just wanted to tell you about my xbox and stuff… it's funny my best friend that I live with has an xbox 360 elite. A couple of times though if there were Wii's in stock in walmart he would of seriously got me one.
He got me a camcorder for Christmas that I wanted for youtube and rare home movies. Oh I finally got it to work on our new hdtv it's supposed to work input and output (to play your videos on the tv and also to record tv onto the camcorder) I got the camcorder to show on the tv but not the other way around. I think I'll have him look at it. I really I mean REALLY want to be able to record off of tv onto it to record clips and stuff but I haven't gotten it to work on any tv this is the third tv so far. But if it works one way it should the other. When the screen changed I was so happy!! And I moved it around and it was cool.

I'm still working on being even halfway decent at Smash, myself. I'm happy to get my ass kicked by everybody for SNT though.
Hit McD's for lunch today. Didn't notice anything about the McRib, but I did get a tad nauseated looking at the beauty shot of the triple thick Shamrock Shake. Had to go with the giant bucket of iced coffee instead. I guess they've had it for awhile in other markets but they just launched it around here. It's not bad considering you get twice as much coffee for half as much as it would cost at Starbucks.

Squee - You weren't the only individual to find there McD's has yet to get with the McRib times. I'm hoping the sandwhich will be their April promotion, when you can't get 2 Filet's O Fish for $3.
