I’m back!

Basically it was Hell Night (last night of pledging) in my frat again. Good times, but my patience was tested. Then again, this is the day where everyone is tested in some way.

I wanna be a bum and go to sleep, but I’m too pumped up. My spring break starts wednesday, then the 23rd is my 21st bday!

I haven’t had a “sleep til 1 and do nothing” day in a long time. Maybe that’ll be wednesday. I’m only 1/2 way through SSE in Brawl and I’ve played SSE since monday. I only need 6 more characters!

Matt, I totally understand the overworked element. My job recently decided that they weren’t making overtime mandatory but to feel free to work 40 or more hours every two pay periods. As it stands now, I typically leave for work around 7:00 AM and return home by about 9:00 – 9:30 Mon-Fri. It doesn’t leave a lot of time for much else.

Man, my spring break ended last week…being back at school both sucks & is awesome.

And by the way, I love Shia Lebeouf, I thought he made Transformers about 1000 times better, and I look forward o seeing him in Indiana Jones 4, because Harrison Ford is not quite the eye candy he used to be.

Crud – that should say every two weeks or every one pay period.

Paul – As an Air Force brat and former Army enlisttee, I wish you the safest of travels and thank you for your service. By careful out there and I look forward to your safe return!

Well, last night my family and I took my dad out for his birthday. The 16th is actually his birthday, but we decided to celebrate it yesterday. Anyway, we went to this really great seafood place called joes crab shack, and treated him to a great meal. We had one of the waitresses come over and do a dance for him in a grass skirt and a coconut bikini, lol. He didn’t know it was about to happen either. Then after that was done, we sung happy birthday to him and gave him his cards and present. We got him a gift certificate to his favorite music store.

I can’t believe it’s already Palm Sunday. I am definetly NOT in the Easter mood this year. I haven’t watched any Easter specials, and I don’t even think I’ll be watching Jesus Of Nazareth this year either. Actually, I am glad that Lent will be over soon. I just want to be able to eat candy again! I should stock up on Easter candy so that come next Sunday morning, I can gorge myself in those tasty treats.

There’s not much I can say that’s been happening to me lately. My car’s been acting goofy so I didn’t try to take it up to Dallas yesterday and therefore I missed the Stars’ game. I’ve been having a real “I don’t care” attitude about everything. In a way, I’m glad I’m single even though it sucks because you get lonely very often. Oh well, at least I get to do what I want when I want to (when I’m off-duty that is). So, just thought I’d make my appearance before anyone wonders what happened to me.

By the way, I AM Legend comes out on DVD Tuesday as well as Enchanted. Oh, and if you’re looking for a good comedy fix, might I recommend “Death At A Funeral.” Watched it last night and laughed my ass off! Definetly got me ready for SNL. Okay, I’m off to go see “Horton Hears A Who” so I’ll catch you all later!

Jessica Marie, I’m so sorry to hear that. :( Hopefully things will turn up for you guys soon (if they haven’t already)!

And yes, my time there was pretty magical. I’d actually never been to Disney World before and I was lucky enough to have the perfect tour guide. :)

Wow, this was a pretty slow SNT, huh? I was at a friend’s house most of the weekend, which was awesome.

The only not-awesome thing about it was wasting almost two hours of my life watching August Rush. I was expecting it to be a little silly, but heartwarming. Instead, it’s a steaming pile of crap with some nice music thrown in. Seriously, I think 15-year-olds wrote the script.

Whats SNT?

Chestnuts roasted by Paul UK @ 03/16/2008 4:48 PM

Hi, folks. Missed SNT, but it’s still the weekend, so I’ll chime in. I had to run errands and work yesterday and worked early today, and with spring holidays coming, it was busy both days. I’m just going to kick back the rest of the afternoon.

May I?

SNT stands for Saturday Night Thread. Here at X-E we try every Saturday to have a blog comment thread (string of comments) that is open for a laid back discussion of what everyone is doing that Saturday night. They can talk about movies they seen or are going to see, what junk food they bought to pig out on that night, what shows they are watching or planning on watching, video games they are playing, whatever. It’s a free discussion time.

But it’s leap year, so it really stands for Shark Naked Tuxedos till 2009.

80 hours of work in one weekend, I hear ya Matt!!I do graphic design and websites and I’ve been in the same boat for two months now. I love my work, and I don’t complain for having acquired many clients and new projects, but seriously, it’s all happening at once and I’ve been up ’til 4am more nights than not, and I too have a headache right now. And I feel so bad for not having updated my own readalong site lately, I’m afraid I might be losing visitors. And my poor video game consoles wonder where I’ve been. I find myself envious of kids on Spring Break. What keeps me going is the idea that someday it will get back to a normal amount of work that I can do in normal hours of the day, and that day will be so sweet.

Chestnuts roasted by CMJ @ 03/16/2008 7:57 PM

Goob, on junk food…earlier today – well, yesterday now – I ate caramel, fondant And toffee filled chocolate eggs today. Several. For science.

(PS. I think I’m going to be sick at some point overnight.)

Guise That sounds like it is something to get sick in your stomach over! Since our move into this new place we have been trying to eat healthier. I just wolfed down a chcoolate vanilla jello pudding pop. Even though if you look on the box for those things they are just as “healthy” as the sugar free Popsicles. You just don’t eat 5 at once.

But we have been buying boneless skinless chicken breasts like crazy and IMO eating pretty healthy. We eat green salads almost everyday. It tastes great though it’s not like on tv when they eat a grey shriveled up little piece of chicken with a STEAMED (always steamed) spinach leaf when the doctor says their cholesterol is high and they need to go on a diet and cut out all of the good tasting food. Even though about 3 days ago I made some oatmeal raisin cookies. They were good!

what is snt?

On the subject of eating healthy…I have been living in China for the past 6 weeks or so, and I’ve been dropping pounds like a mofo. Red meat is a rarity in most traditional Chinese cuisine, and if you do actually have some served to you at a meal, it’s normally no more than a mouthful. Although my diet over here is causing me to lose weight, I shudder to think what my blood-pressure numbers are nowadays because almost anything a person may consume for sustenance in China is FUCKING SALTY! But even if my arteries are bulging at the seams and my heart is dying a little more with every beat from the effort, at least I look a little better with my shirt off.

The one food-item that I miss more than any other from back home is CHEESE. Apparently, the Chinese have never heard of the stuff, and I am almost to the point of being ready to murder half the population of Shaan xi province if it means I can have a slice of sharp cheddar on a Triscuit. Mmmmm, cheese…

Chestnuts roasted by The Yeti @ 03/16/2008 10:01 PM

Right, the Asians know nothing of cheese. This makes me happy, actually, because I hate the stuff. I wouldn’t have to always be saying “no cheese on that please” if I lived in Japan.

Jeff – That’s awesome! I will live vicariously through you and Matt, knowing that someday I’ll get to go too. Things will turn around soon for us, I’m not worried. But thank you for your well wishes. :)
