I’m booored. But I went to Disney World last week and then I ran back to X-E and read the Disney article and I was like “YAY! I SAW THOSE THINGS!”

Most. Eloquent comment. Ever.

I’ve got such a headache. This is the third weekend in a row that I’ve needed to get 80 hours of work done in 48. :(

Ghosted by Matt @ 03/15/2008 9:34 PM EST

Jeff: Yay! Where did you stay? We’re thinking about going back. Polynesian remains the top pick but I’m really curious about the Wilderness Lodge.

Ghosted by Matt @ 03/15/2008 9:35 PM EST

This feels like the first SNT in forever, which is great.
I just saw Horton Hears a Who. I give it 3 stars. I give the popcorn 1 1/2, kinda disappointed in that area.

This might be “so last week”, but has anyone seen Vantage Point yet? I’d recommend it. I’ve heard it’s kind of a homage to Rashomon, in that it shows the assassination of the (fictional) US President from various points of view. I think that was the first new movie I’ve seen since Cloverfield.

My boyfriend’s actually participating in the Disney College Program, so he has an apartment/dorm type thing that’s located really close to the parks. He knows everything about Disney World though, so I’ll ask for the inside scoop and let you know what I hear. :)

Happy SNT everyone!

I put in some overtime hours myself this week, but I love my job so it was no big whoop. I need to add more shit to my cubicle, though, I took this cute photo of myself at work today and realized there’s waaaay to much blank wallspace and empty nooks and crannies.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 03/15/2008 9:57 PM EST

I totally see the Sea-Monkeys, Mystie. :)

Ghosted by Matt @ 03/15/2008 10:02 PM EST

They’re getting huge, too! And plentiful! I’ve still got a good 20 some in there and it’s been over a month. I dunno if I had some strays or what, but the other day a couple babies appeared but they’re gone now.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 03/15/2008 10:05 PM EST

I like to imagine the “mystery 8 ball” is the deciding factor in every critical business decision Mystie has to make.

Ghosted by Bill @ 03/15/2008 10:12 PM EST

I’m actually doing something tonight, I’ll see y’all later.

Ghosted by Invader Norbert @ 03/15/2008 10:24 PM EST

Well that would explain why the doctors are missing a couple hundred thou in revenue….

But to be completely honest, a majority of my time at work is spent staring at my screens completely in autopilot while really I’m thinking about sex. Occasionally I have to look up a code, check my gmail, make a witty retort, and send some text messages.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 03/15/2008 10:27 PM EST

Mystie I saw this thing on the TOmy website, its called Mutsu….its a plastic fish tank witha plastic fish in it that swims in the water and beeps and chirps and lights up…cool little thing for your cubicle. http://youtube.com/watch?v=_Qfkg8TWpiQ

thats a link to a video showing what they do.

We’re headed back to Disney May 1st for 10 days. Since we’re going 10 days and we’re getting the Super Duper OMFG Deluxe Dining Plan (having all your meals pre-paid so you don’t have to carry cash/credit-cards ROCKS), we can’t afford the Polynesian or the Wilderness Lodge (but I’d love to stay in either). Port Orleans looks like it’ll be nice, though. We liked the Coronado last time.

10 days seems to be just enough time to reach maximum relaxation, and just as you get bored with the place, it’s time to go. Worked well last time.

Now if only I weren’t TERRIFIED of flying.

Ghosted by muppet @ 03/15/2008 10:44 PM EST

Oh matt you were never a bum, you always had XE :-p

Ghosted by hlerm @ 03/15/2008 10:47 PM EST

Total Bum…..It took a week finally use to the time change.

I’ve got an ominous feeling that X-E is entering its winter.

Ghosted by The Manimal @ 03/15/2008 10:54 PM EST

mandy_Reeves I actually had one of those a lonnnnng time ago, only it wasn’t a bowl, it was more like a fish tank and it was silent.

Ghosted by Denise @ 03/15/2008 10:56 PM EST

Long-time reader, first-time poster…just wanted to say thanks for keeping such a great site together. I’ve been reading since the very beginning, through all the highs and lows and still check the blog almost daily to see what’s going on in our corner of the pop culture world.

I’m leaving tomorrow for a 7-month deployment aboard the USS Abraham Lincoln with our mighty Navy, so I’ll be away from updates until October…at which time I plan on returning home and entrenching myself in the madness of the Halloween Countdown.

Thanks for the laughs and the nostalgia, and keep up the good work, Matt…I’m looking forward to a warm homecoming from The Ghost With The Most in a few months!

Ghosted by Paul @ 03/15/2008 11:15 PM EST

That is pretty ominous, Manimal :(
Andrew, I thought Vantage Point looked like it was a take on Rashoman. That and the fact that Matthew Fox seems to play a sizable part had me hoping it would be good. I’ll probably check it out on DVD/HBO, thanks for the rec! I saw Be Kind Rewind last night, thought it was hilarious, if a little goofy.
Happy SNT!

Today’s the first time all week I felt good since I’ve been sick all week.

Gonna go watch SNL. See ya later.

Ghosted by JLAJRC @ 03/15/2008 11:33 PM EST

Jeff – you’re so lucky! My husband lost his job so we had to cancel our February trip. :***(
I’m glad you got to go – did you have a magical time?

Ghosted by Jessica Marie @ 03/15/2008 11:34 PM EST

Be safe Paul, and I hope you have as much fun as one can surrounded by a bunch of men in the middle of the ocean :) . Nah, that is just the army in me joking. I thought the US Navy had internet on board their ships? Anyway, I want a full report when you get back man, again stay safe!

Ghosted by Phil G. @ 03/15/2008 11:47 PM EST

Thanks Paul, and good luck!

It’s past midnight. Don’t want to go to bed. Don’t want it to be Sunday.

Ghosted by Matt @ 03/16/2008 12:07 AM EST

I feel ya on the Sunday, Matt. It’s the weekend before finals and I have a paper due Monday.

Of course I started it!

…okay, no, actually…

Ghosted by Sami @ 03/16/2008 12:11 AM EST

Just waiting for I, Robot to finish up on FX… even though I must have seen this movie about 47 times.

Ghosted by muppet @ 03/16/2008 12:20 AM EST

I am glad that Saturday is pretty much over, Sunday is my hell day every week. It is my weekly cleaning day at the apartment, since I am hope only for sleeping during the week, and I have myself scheduled in a ridiculous way: I have wedding dress shopping at 1 PM, lunch with mom and sis at 3 PM, and cake tasting at 6 PM. I just want the wedding to be done with.

Ghosted by Leigha @ 03/16/2008 12:24 AM EST

I miss being a bum, too. :(

I spent today at work. And, from the look of things, I’m working the next few weekends too.

This is so not how to spend a Saturday!

I did timer-tape the cartoons. So, at least I got to see the latest TMNT episode.

I definitely miss being unemployed!

Today starts my spring break, so for the next 8 days I am a bum. Except I’m doing home improvement projects. Bleh, now it doesn’t so great. What’s the recipe for that Steven Seagal/Armageddon drink?

Ghosted by FyarlGirl @ 03/16/2008 12:45 AM EST

muppet,

I didn’t know it was possible to sit through any movie with Shia LeBoeuf in it more than once. I thought Transformers was so bad I had to turn it off after an hour. In fairness, it wasn’t all his fault. However, I am now worried that Indiana Jones 4 will be terrible because of him. I hope he dies in it. In the first 5 minutes.

Ghosted by Rich @ 03/16/2008 12:46 AM EST

Anyone know what’s in that Beezel Nut soda at IHOP?

i saw the commercial for the Dr Seuss menu and it looked like SPrite with blue and red Jello cubes floating in it?

Ghosted by mandy_Reeves @ 03/16/2008 12:51 AM EST

I’m watching the first season of the Smurfs on DVD and chugging soda to try and stay awake. I’ve got tomorrow all filled up between various friends so I’m not gonna get shit done. So yeah, I’m also missing spending Sunday loafing about in my pajamas and being a bum.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 03/16/2008 12:55 AM EST

you should be like me and move back in with your folks. then you can be a total bum and not feel too bad about it. except when they come home from somewhere and you’re pretty drunk. but then you can get them to make you some grilled cheese and you don’t feel so bad. :)

Ghosted by Jameson @ 03/16/2008 12:57 AM EST

FyarlGirl,

You must be referring to the Seagalmageddon. I’m glad people remember it. I had attempted to do a gimmicky thing with it, but I don’t think it would work out. As my brother told me, “All the liquors I had mixed together would taste terrible.” So, I was thinking of getting to the core of the idea. A drink that uses Steven Seagal’s Energy Drink while causing an armageddon (Seagal’s Specialty) upon your Sobriety, Etiquette, Aptitude, Good judgment, Attractiveness, and Levelheadedness. (Still got the gimmick in there!) Anyway, here’s my pretty close to final recipe. If anyone has anymore recommendations, let me know.

1 shot gin
2 shots Cherry Vodka
1 shot 151 or Everclear
5-6 ozs of Steven Seagal Lightning Bolt–either Cherry Charge or Asian Experience. Both are terrible, although the cherry kind has a slightly pleasant cherry taste for about 3 nanoseconds.

Basically, it’s a big drink, like a Long Island Iced Tea. Half should be liquor, the other half should be the Energy Drink.

I sent an earlier recipe to drinksmixer.com but they are drink Nazis and didn’t accept it.

Note for your well-being: I actually haven’t tried drinking this yet and am basing everything off of past drinking experience. Drink at your own and your liver’s risk.

Good luck Paul, I look forward to talking to you again in October.

For a late dinner I had a roast beef sandwich from Arbys, some bbq potato chips, and a glass of pink lemonade flavored kool-aid.

My stomach? Not so happy with my decision.

Anyway, Happy SNT all!

Now, what do do with the rest of the night? Decisions, decisions.

Ghosted by Magic Toy @ 03/16/2008 1:14 AM EST

First SNT alone, at the new place—without the boyfriend of 6 years. He got too drunk at our mutual poker game, and stumbled to the bars at the last minute with another couple…well, screw him. I have McDonalds and SNT and 300 Gigs of movies to watch (he hates watching movies- WHO hates that??? It was always a problem…)

Mystie- U actually made me wish for a cubicle once again…wow.

I feel like a bum, and I love it. It frigging rocks, and everyone knows it.

My spring break from work just started today, so I’m looking forward to a lot of nothing this week…it will be bliss

Ghosted by Shuanfu @ 03/16/2008 1:23 AM EST

That’s the spirit, Muppet Baby! Screw him! I wish I could get some of my girl friends to catch some of that attitude, a bunch of them are having man problems. One’s getting a divorce, another’s man up and left her with two kids, and yet another found a used condom under her bed despite that she hasn’t had sex with her fiance in a long time. Makes me feel so much better about being single…

Ghosted by Mystie @ 03/16/2008 1:41 AM EST

I don’t know about any of you, but I hate being single.

Ghosted by Tetsu Deinonychus @ 03/16/2008 2:01 AM EST

Poor Matt. Mang I watched Fright Night tonight. It was awesome.

Ghosted by Eddie Lightning Frog @ 03/16/2008 2:12 AM EST

My spring break is almost over, so pretty soon I’ll have to stop being a bum. =\

Cheer me up and make me not pissed off in 3 to 5 words.

Ghosted by dohopoki @ 03/16/2008 2:34 AM EST

Okay: “Dad” puts the “pa” in palindrome.

Ghosted by Matt @ 03/16/2008 2:42 AM EST

doho: Baklava. I’m not good at this.

Very short continuation of last night’s discussion: Yeti, it is Requiem For a Dream. I haven’t watched it yet, but will probably do so on Monday.

…too damn late. I’m off.

Ghosted by Amund @ 03/16/2008 2:43 AM EST

That’s six words Matt but I’ll forgive you because you made me think about how your dad gets when playing monopoly.

Ghosted by dohopoki @ 03/16/2008 2:47 AM EST

Crap, missed another SNT cause I was at work all night. Oh well, nice to see Bill and Fyarl Girl again. Haven’t seen them in a while.

Mystie, Groovy cubicle you got there. Makes me miss the couple of jobs I did have where I had my own cubicle. I work in an office now where we all kind of move around and you kind of just grab whatever computer/station is free, but I have had jobs where I had my own space. At the last one, I got in a spot of trouble for hanging up Halloween decorations all around it and was told to take them down cause they were afraid that clients would walk in and be offended. Bloody fascists! Oh, and nice t-shirt in the picture there too.

Rich, I’m with you on that one. This world will be a better place when Shia has left it. I’m so sick of him ruining all the movies that I’m looking forward to. He was a sore spot in Transformers, now he’s screwing up Indy, and I just read he was cast in the movie of Y: The Last Man, which is one of the best comics ever made. I was really looking forward to the movie, but now I’m kind of dreading it. Cillian Murphy was rumored to be cast for a long time and I would love to see that, but now we’re stuck with Even-effin’ Stevens again. I hate him and his two facial expressions.

Eddie Lightning Frog, Fright Night is one of my favorite horror movies of all time. Was that the first time you had seen it?

“Oh, you’re so cooool, Brewster!”
