My dying wish is for an owl/camel hybrid, which I call camowl.

Bye, 2007.

And so marks the last thread of 2007. Use it wisely. Personally, I was not a fan of 2007. I liked 2006 better, and I hope I'll like 2008 better. 2008 is a cool-sounding year. Sounds...futuristic.

Got a resolution? Share it. Got a POV on the year that was? Share it. Rather just comment on how the dead tree outside your house kind of looks like a giant monster paw? I don't mind. It's just a thread. But it's the last one with "2007" next to your comments. Is it hard to say goodbye to a number? Probably not. Maybe next year, though. Like I said, "2008" sounds cool. I will grow to love it.

Salgood fearless leader. But I am looking forward to normalcy. I’ve been eating myself to death on Christmas candy and crap and watching DVD’s like crazy. I gotta get back to normal. I think a normal article would help.

You deserve a break, man.

What 2008 holds for me:
- Lost Season 4
- Cloverfield
- Iron Man Movie (TOYS!!)
- Tiny Toons on DVD (it’s been green lighted!)

Will post some new stuff tomorrow

awesome. 2007 needs to beat it.

No worries, Matt. You absolutely deserve a break.

LOL Brian that’s basically my list for 2008 too, especially the first two. Now if they would only release the Freakazoid DVDs…

That James Lipton story is amazing. My favorite part is the fact that you can’t tell if the …’s are because they shortened his quotes for clarity, or if it just reflects his particular speech patterns.

Good luck kingklash! Looking forward to an update when you can :)

2007 for me wasn’t anything worth writing home about, aside from the fact that I moved into a great apartment in April. Also, my grandmother passed away in August. She and I were very close. I’m hoping for better things in ’08, such as hoping to get out of this slump that is my life. lol. As for New Year’s, I was feeling no pain. My mom had a get-together at her house, which was fun as hell. After a dozen beers and a mickey of rye, I was definitely the life of the party. Believe it or not though, I still had my wits about me by the end of the night. I was drunk, but not ‘stupid’ drunk. Ah well. Here’s hoping this year is better than last.

I am back in the land of internet access. A happy new year to you all.

I know you will all love this: Perfect Strangers is finallly coming out on DVD. Now Matt can review the Halloween episode without the grainy video tracking.

Chestnuts roasted by Fox @ 01/04/2008 12:57 PM

Grr, just come out with the 100+ dollar “complete series” edition. Perfect Strangers has no chance of selling well enough to justify making it past a season 3 DVD. I’m sick of seeing so many shows on Amazon or at Walmart with half complete collections from studios that have no intentions on completing them because few people really give enough shit about these shows to buy them.

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 01/04/2008 1:20 PM

Doho: I’m with you. If anything, with some of these shows, they should just release best-of DVDs. It’s not ideal and I actually hate the thought of it, but I’ve got so many shows’ 1st and 2nd seasons that I know have no hope of continuing.

Chestnuts roasted by Matt @ 01/04/2008 1:22 PM

I’d support that, it is the most pratical idea. I was most crushed over the Bob Newhart Show (big fan of him), just 2 more seasons and we would have had it.

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 01/04/2008 1:33 PM

Old shows that I wish they’d finish releasing: Mary Tyler Moore and Taxi.

Chestnuts roasted by Annette @ 01/04/2008 2:06 PM

One DVD collection they handpick episodes instead of offering complete seasons that I wish they wouldn’t do that with are the Beavis and Butthead sets.

Chestnuts roasted by fistpittingnork @ 01/04/2008 2:16 PM

Put me down for MTM and Taxi too. None of the B&B sets have the music videos do they? That’s unacceptable if so.

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 01/04/2008 2:21 PM

doho

Disc 3 contains a slim selection of music videos. For the most part, what you’re going to watch are skits back-to-back.

The sets are totally worth having, though, if you’re interested.

Wait a second, something is wrong…

So who’s the new Santa for this year? Because they didn’t get a Santa in the Parallel Universe Playmobil calendar, and they never opened a Santa from the Lego calendar! Doesn’t that mean that nobody gets their presents this year? WHAT ABOUT POOR MISTA SNOWMAN?!?!?! WHAT ABOUT POOR JAMES LIPTON?!?!??!

My world is shattering…

Chestnuts roasted by Captain Will @ 01/04/2008 5:22 PM

Doho and Matt, on DVDs I completely agree with you. They bought out some of one of my favourite shows, Have I Got News For You, on DVD and only produced the Best Of… the last two series, despite over a decade (or two) of shows.

To make it worse, BBC insist on bringing out the old Doctor Who in staggered releases, whereas you used to be able to get everything on video.

Chestnuts roasted by Guise @ 01/04/2008 5:55 PM

I know what Matt and Doho are talking about. One of my favorite sitcoms of all time is Night Court, yet they only have that one DVD collection of the first season. That was at least 2-3 years ago. :(

Then there are the shows you’d wish they collect, but for various reasons won’t. My list:
Friday the 13th, The Series
Tales from the Darkside
Monsters
The Adam West Batman show
The Christmas Toy

BOY MEETS WORLD!

Sorry, I’m just still pissed about the fact that they stopped releasing seasons just as that show actually got good. I want to see goofy fourth-wall breaking hijinks, not earnest family friendly feel goodery. I bought this lame S1 DVD on good faith, Buena Vista!

Chestnuts roasted by squee4242 @ 01/04/2008 6:31 PM

Night Stand with Dick Dietrick. I used to love that show.

The original british Whose Line too, though fortunately both the British and American versions are showing again. Clive Anderson will always be the better host though.

Also, British releases of GI Joe, Pete and Pete, etc…it’s unfair, we miss them.

Chestnuts roasted by Guise @ 01/04/2008 7:19 PM

Seems I hit a hot topic!

Guise, I can actually excuse Doctor Who for it will be impossible to ever “complete” properly. Plus, with every Doctor bringing essentially a different show, all I would really like or need is a personal “best of” collection. What is not excuseable is their prices, 100 bucks for the new series 3? Are they kidding?

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 01/04/2008 7:57 PM

Doho, actually, considering from about halfway through the Troughton era they actually released every episode on video. In fact, there’s only 27 serials incomplete from the first 6 years (108 episodes) or 27 serials out of 159 serials up to the end of McCoy.

There isn’t really any excuse not to release everything they have other than not wanting to, because some stories wont be snapped up and will just incur expense of production, etc.

Targetted releases of favourite stories, as opposed to over-saturation with Tom Baker.

As for cost, I can’t agree more…it’s like the Friends and Buffy boxed sets when they came out. Granted, they have more episodes, but is it really worth the amount?

Chestnuts roasted by Guise @ 01/04/2008 8:26 PM

I’m just saying I could pick up a single set of Doctor Who without developing a compulsion to catch’em all. (If I could afford them)

Chestnuts roasted by dohopoki @ 01/04/2008 8:31 PM

Guise
I’m curios, is there a noticeable difference between G.I. Joe and Action Force? I’ve heard there was a big difference with Transformers but I’m not sure if that’s accurate or not.

I just pray for the day that all the copyright issues are taken care of, and I can get me some Wonder Years.
