wow, i saw the pic at the top and i thought that since i’ve been gone for a while that it’s just something i missed, it looks like its a window thats looking at raining raisins

So, do we think the 16 means anything? And what exactly does the window represent? Or is it from someone’s point of view and they are not actually Amaltheas but raisins, as already observed? Because obviously if it’s what someone is actually seeing it must be raisins, since it raining raisins is infinitely more realistic than there being 16 Amaltheas.
Also: if this is the case, who’s POV is this from and how do we save them from a raisin flood? Do rabbits like raisins? I know chinchillas do, and they kind of look like rabbits. Wow, am I ever rambling. Maybe it’s from having just seen Lost for the first time (season 4 opener) and feeling a little weird.

Windows can show entirely different worlds, views into other dimensions, times, places, or plantations. In this case, a raisin making farm. Thing. =P I was trying to sound cool, but it’s a hard thing to do when you’re talking about raisins.
I was thinking maybe the four segments and 16 Amaltheas could be 4/16 or April 16th. Events of note on 4/16 through the years:
1178 BC – A solar eclipse may have marked the return of Odysseus, legendary King of Ithaca, to his kingdom after the Trojan War.
1891 – Arthur Tolkien, father of J.R.R. Tolkien, marries Mabel Suffield.
1943 – Dr. Albert Hofmann discovers the psychedelic effects of LSD.
1972 – Apollo program: Apollo 16 launches towards the Moon from Cape Canaveral, Florida.
2007 – Virginia Tech massacre: the deadliest mass shooting in modern American history, in which a gunman shoots 32 people to death and injures 23 others before committing suicide.
Not much there.
There was a written note dated 4/3/06 and another dated 4/3/07 on the Thing page (I knew it was April something… worth a look).
Easter is March 23rd so April has no significance there.
So in summary, it would appear the 4/16 theory is out.

I think it’s a rotating sequence. The two on the left are the same arrangement of Amaltheas (or raisins, or shadowy figures), just rotated. Same with the two on the right. Same arrangement rotated.
Maybe if we separate the four and run them in a sequence (rotated for alignment), maybe we’ll see something. Anybody got the skills to do this? ‘Cause I would just cut it up in Paint, save as .jpgs and make a slideshow… and that’s too weak for public display.
Looking at it though, the three in the corners will pretty much stay in the same spot, and the one in the middle will slide down to the corner if animated. Fun to watch, but maybe not worth the work.
But I do think it’s four separate images. So make it four Amaltheas. Are the moons of Jupiter aligning soon or something?

i just took a close look at the pick, and the raisin/amalthea/whatever
and the bottom left one looks alot like an eye
i tried to outline it and another one i thought looked like an eye

Thanks Wilkins for linking what I was trying to describe. The point I was trying to make is lost a bit though by showing just that page. If you click on “main” from Wilkins’ link you will find what I mean. The rabbit book shares a list with the book from Matts CYOA post. I thought this to be more than coincidence seeing as Matt mentioned googling “Gorga the Space Monster” in the article (which is how I found the punkrockpenguin site BTW). This ties in nicely I think with the subtle advent calender hints dropped in recent articles.

Update: A quick google book search of “When Spirits Walk” reveiled a list of key terms in the plot synopsis. (Damn I wish I could link properly) One of these key terms was “WindowRock” Ok I’m scared now. I may end my search now to avoid incrimination. Enjoy.

ok, looked up window rock
found this thing in arizona, and google maps, and theirs this place near it called metior crater, relating to space
but thats a bit of a stretch, and thanks for the comments on the designs (ben-easily done, danH-thanks, im going to try to make the fire better)
looked up the march 21 equinox for wiccans
it’s symbols are the egg and rabbit, and is a time of fertility, but nothing about ressurection
but on the christian side, easter is about christs resurrection
need…more…clues

I’ve been busting my ass on leaning Maya (the animation/rendering program) and I’ve been totally out of it; did we miss Groundhog’s Day? Dohopoki, do you mean Groundhog’s day, or just a passing musing because of the window?
