Fungusmungus – Thanks for posting that link for Captain Will. Unfortunately, I don’t get to stop in here and check my messages as often as I’d like, so if there’s ever a time when you need to get my attention, don’t hesitate to click my name and leave a post on my site to the effect that I need to get my ass to Box 23, ASAP. That’s the fastest way to reach me.

Captain Will – I have never received any messages from Hssxxlllo or anyone else. I arrived late to the email game, and didn’t want to repeat work other people had already done, so I pretty much stayed out of the email/messaging end of things. I’ve relied upon Guise’s awesome database of Advent conspiracy info to see messages that others have received.

I’m sure you’re all following the regular threads way more than me, but I wanted to point out that Ben posted in the last main thread that he’s been receiving messages, too. I didn’t see him mention that here. I’ll put another note in the main thread (once I read to the bottom, that is, to make certain no one else has) and maybe people will start to come back here again.

mmmk. I keep getting hots on my blog from the batrib page, so I came here to see what was new. I cannot find ANY 7777 on the lite brite box and it is making me crazy. Someone copy that pic and circle it in ms paint or something and repost it, cause I will sit here all day and look for it and I should be doing other things:) Thanks.

You’re darn right I’m coming back, Candace! I had no idea the thread was still alive. O_o

So have I missed anything, guys? As Candace pointed out, I did get one message from Hssxxlllo: “]]”

That’s all it said. ]]

What could it mean??

As stated in another thread- Lent starts next Wednesday. Easter’s 40 days away after that.
And since Matt’s Catholic… he should know this. Are there any signnifigant pagan activities between now and easter in which we should expect something?

Chestnuts roasted by kittymao @ 01/30/2008 2:39 PM

Kitty, does the Spring Equinox on March 20 count?

Chestnuts roasted by Guise @ 01/30/2008 3:24 PM

yeah! I think it would. Don’t several pagan sites line up on the Spring Equinox?

Chestnuts roasted by Anonymous @ 01/30/2008 3:26 PM

that above was me.
erg.

You know, I’m just in the middle of updating the Advent-urers site and I was about to link to the Madballs entry and noticed the unusual URL. Usually the URL has the title after the date, but for the Madballs entry: http://x-entertainment.com/updates/2008/01/29/1111/

1111?

Chestnuts roasted by Guise @ 01/30/2008 5:26 PM

And just to note: http://www.rogues.1me.net/XEAdventurers/fellow_advent.htm

As I told the Human Resources department…We’re back and this time it’s personnel.

Chestnuts roasted by Guise @ 01/30/2008 5:50 PM

interesting, Guise.
It looks like Matt’s shaping up for SOMETHING, but for what?

Chestnuts roasted by kittymao @ 01/30/2008 6:22 PM

kittymao – I think Matt may be using Easter itself as the pagan holiday. There are two links on the 7777 page which highlight the pagan origins of Easter over the Christian ones. Also a lot of talk about resurrection, which is why I suspect he may be bringing Amalthea back sooner than Christmas. No proof, mind you, just a thought.

Maybe Matt’s going the celestial/astronomical tie-in route again; there’s an awful lot of alien/space links on 7777. I did some checking along the lines of the whole ‘moon ritual’ thing from Christmas, and there is a little something going on around Easter. The vernal equinox falls on the 20th (good call, Guise). A full moon on the 21st. Then two days later its Easter.

Chestnuts roasted by Chris @ 01/30/2008 6:38 PM

Kitty, I forgot to add in that between now and Easter we also have Imbolc on the 1st February (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Imbolc) and that old ‘favourite’ Valentines Day.

I’m so excited I could explode!

Didn’t know this thread was so active, and that so much was happening on the advent front. Had seen things on the main threads about spontaneous messages from Hssxxlllo, but didn’t know about anything else. Was going into serious withdrawal, to the point of insanity.

Chestnuts roasted by Tresjolie9 @ 01/31/2008 2:57 AM

Wow, look at all the action here! My internet conked out on me for a few days, and now I’ve missed a bunch of neato clues. Pooh.

Well, let’s see. I did see the 7777 you guys were talking about (after you pointed out that there was one though), and I noticed that the light bright picture theme was Gremlins, particularly Gizmo. Not all that interesting, but there you are (well, it is interesting to me because my cat’s name is Gizmo, lol). The ‘]]’ maybe looks like bunny ears? The other one could look like a bunny face minus ears, I guess. Well there you go, if you tilt one of ‘em and put ‘em together, you get a bunny head. Sort of.

Moving on. I’m liking all the Easter hype – I haven’t been excited about it since I was a little kid. :) We stopped celebrating it after I was about 9 years old. Stupid age-ist Easter Bunny.

Oooh. Oh! Is Leviathan the Easter Bunny??? And more importantly, does he/she/it lay eggs??????

Chestnuts roasted by Frakkyfire @ 01/31/2008 2:59 AM

Tresjolie9 you’re not alone! This year was my first AC, and I’ve been going mad with withdrawal!

Chestnuts roasted by Captain Will @ 01/31/2008 3:02 AM

Intersting point, Frakky, the ‘]]’ could be bunny ears. It could stand for JJ as in JJ Abrams, creator of Cloverfield and Lost. Or it could be both…

We will soon see where all these clues are leading to.

Graham, I think Matt said something about possibly making some XE shirts with Waiterbot on them. The minute any kind of AC related merchandise is available, I will be all over it.

Chestnuts roasted by Tresjolie9 @ 01/31/2008 3:13 AM

Okay, I didn’t realize there were actually still clues and whatnot going on – I’m glad someone linked to this thread in the most recent blog! I’ve just scrolled up to read the things I’ve missed…very interesting…

Chestnuts roasted by Joey the Girl @ 01/31/2008 9:22 AM

So let’s assume the next blog post link will be 2222. No way to tell how long it will take to get to 7777. Posts are at Matt’s pace.

Time will tell.

Never mind. There have been two posts since Madballs and they both have standard XE urls.

Still could be a sign of things to come.

FM, yeah…but notice how many of the entries are on monstrous creations and events: Mumm-Ra, THINGS, Madballs, CYOA about giant monsters, Unsolved Mysteries.

Maybe there is something in the whole theme? Or maybe Matt is dicking with us?

Chestnuts roasted by Guise @ 01/31/2008 2:17 PM

Well, he made a post about how much he loves Choose Your Own Adventures, and people here have been speculating about a countdown in that format. Maybe that’s a clue in and of itself?

Chestnuts roasted by Candace @ 01/31/2008 3:50 PM

FM – Actually, I was just looking into it, and it seems that the odd naming convention on the blog posts goes back at least as far as “X-E Loves Cloverfield” as “1106″. Each one after that has a sequential number so far. I noticed when I clicked on “more” on one of the pages. They aren’t all visible by just clicking on the title. For example, clicking on “Of Fruit Bars and Flying Tarantulas” gives you a normal url, but clicking “more” on the same post has a url ending in “of-fruit-bars-and-flying-tarantulas/#more-1108″.
However, this could mean that they all have a number, and we’ve just never noticed before.
