On an unrelated note: I finally packed up my Advent Calendars but this year I left Mare, Cher, Box and James Lipton out to warm my heart. Thank god the Lego ACs went on sale; I’ve always wanted my very own James Lipton. XD

Well, as I said, I survived the drunken board game night with the missus.
Guise: Can’t get her into any video games (besides the PC CSI games – she likes those), but I’m considering a Wii. She’d dig that I’m sure.
So to sum up: UNO Attack makes a fine drinking game as does Hungry, Hungry Hippos (among others that came out last night). And I rule at Othello.

See, I had this idea for a childrens version of the Saw series. In it the young killer takes all the kids who have bullied him and puts them through tests.
Anyway, he takes this kid who was always stealing his lunchbox/lunch money and drugs him. The guy wakes up in the dark and feels movement around him. Little radio crackles on.
“Hello Jimmy, or as they call you on the playground Jumbo. You are currently floating in a boat in the middle of the hippopotamus enclosure at the city safari park and it’s getting near to dusk when the hippo’s will begin feeding. You’ve always said you needed the extra food for energy, well now we’ll put that energy to good use. I’d like to play a game, Jimmy. Let’s play Hungry, Hungry Hippos.”
And then he’d have to splash about in the water, and much fun would happen.

But can I please have a link to see the fan art? I just had an idea for this years Advent Calendar! Matt could make it like a Chose your story thing. We could all vote on what would happen next! But now that I think about it it doesn’t seem to good.

My friends just got a Crossfire set, and I happily sent them the link to Matt’s review. Man….funny stuff (though nowhere on the level of Fireball Island’s review).
Matt: I meant to ask earlier, but what were you you using to video the “action” sequences in the calendar? I assume the same digital camera you used for the stills, but I’m curious as to what kind of camera you have. And do you use a tripod for the stills? Just wondering.

Frakky, I’d have to take a small leaf out of the Dr Who serial “Happiness Patrol” for Candyland, but change it a fair bit.
You place pretty, popular girl (think Ashleys from Recess) in a cuboid tube with her hands restrained behind her. At face level there is a niche in the tube that holds a small red button a few inches back. The opening to the niche has a waterfall of boiling, unsweetened lemonade constantly cycling. After the message plays, icing made from sugar, pink food dye and water will begin to pour in from the roof.
“Hello Claire. Sugar and spice and all things nice are what little girls are made of, except for you. You seem to enjoy being sour to those you consider under you. We’re going to play a game now, high above you is a container of frosting that will slowly fill the tube and match you facade of sweetness, all you have to do to stop from drowning is come face-to-face with your bitterness.”

Okay, still getting Google Chat messages from Hssxxllo. Yesterday’s was “samhain”, tried dinosaurdracula.com/samhain, samhain.html, and on the x-e domain, no luck. Did some research, it’s “the Celtic new year”, related to Halloween, All Saint’s Day, All Soul’s Day, dates in November, April, May, and October in different hemispheres and pagan relations. No January, though.
Today’s was “:(“, maybe because I didn’t really have much time to think/discuss yesterday’s. Has anything changed on any of the pages? Is there any new content at all? What the heck is he trying to tell me?

Sorry for the double-post, just thought some more. For some reason my first thought was Danzig, and I couldn’t think why: duh it’s one of his bands, Samhain. Also a character from the Ghostbusters, a file integrity checker, and in the name of a horror film: Evil Breed: The Legend of Samhain.

Okay, sorry again, triple-post, but here’s a screenshot, just to prove I’m not crazy:
Sami – I noticed that the message he sent before “samhain” was “help”. Do you think he’s setting up a super-duper cool Halloween countdown for next year? Also, the sixth movie in the Halloween series had a bunch of Samhain/Druid stuff in it, if I recall correctly. Of course, Matt’s more of a Jason and Freddy guy than Michael, I think.
I can’t believe I’m talking about Halloween in January.

Man I can’t use google chat at work. My guess is samhain has to do with the character from “the real ghostbuster”. Especially since last year Matt did an article on the real ghostbusters for halloween. In the cartoon samhain wants halloween to last forever, sounds like a plot that MareII and Hare could get behind. Plus he’s one of the only real ghostbusters ghosts that had a toy made of him, so maybe he pops up in the advent calander or best of all maybe we get some type of countdown adventure for halloween.

Samhain is a celebration to honor the dead and takes place around Halloween. You think the little guy is gonna try and resurrect Hare for Halloween??? Geez. I really thought he was gonna be one of the good guys.

My guess is that its a person and not an event and that Hssxxlllo is warning us. Remember that Matt said that Amethlea was a place for a lot of people with crazy ideas so in addition to meeting a crazy rabbit who always wanted it to be Easter he also might have run into someone crazy who always wants it to be halloween. Maybe a Scare Winningham if you will.
