I’m confuzzled. all I know is that I made up some crazy rantings about the earlier part of the year’s Advent clues a few weeks ago, and now everyone is back on, talking about some spainish site and other clues I have no idea about, and we’re almost caught up with the photog entry! what’s going on anyway?

Confused Captain–No, not a clue. Just scroll up a few posts. Guise and I were going on about how he double posted, and I said that when I see him type “DP”, I don’t think about the phrase “double post.” Then, Rob put up some other things that DP might stand for and Guise said something about writing a poem utilizing all those phrases. Well, I took that as a personal challenge…and there you go.

People naturally decided to go to a website Arcano.com, which contains a mysterious picture, and a prompt in Spanish asking for a password. Many XE’ers suspected that it could have been part of the game, like last year’s dinosaurdracula.com. However after looking up the owner of the website online, and finding out that he is located in Spain, and that the site has been up since 1997, it is unlikely that it is connected to the XE advent calendar.
On this thread, and the current SNT/XE discussion thread, we’ve had a poster named Meepy, posting, who seems to know a bit too much about Rabits, and what might be going on. Read his posts,here, on the other XE thread and judge for yourself.
There is also a new vid up on HU’s You Tube channel, containing information about how the “audience is part of the game.”
meepy has been commenting on the blog since at least summer of 07. they are from florida, worked in traffic court, and have ulcerative colitis. only the newest comments are remotely cryptic, so maybe there are two meepys…sure, that’s it.
i fucking miss doho. have i mentioned that anywhere?
I could be wrong about Meepy, tried doing a google search and what was written seemed to be indicative of someone posting as part of the audience. Maybe they are incredibly insightful at figuring these things out and imitating HU?

Ok guys, can anyone help me figure this the rest of the way out? Here is who I know for sure:
Row 1: Stan Lee, Quentin Tarantino, John Belushi, ?, ?
Row 2: Michael Jordan, Howie Mandell, Danny Devito, Elroy Jetson, Bob Saget
Row 3: Neil Patrick Harris, Homer Simpson, Frank Sinatra, Elvis Presley, Robert DeNiro
Row 4: David Cross, Harrison Ford, Bill Cosby, Clint Howard, Bill Murray
What is the link between them? Any ideas??? I tried combining the names in different ways, but haven’t come up with anything yet.
If you click them, you get taken to a different page (titled “I told you”), which shows the following:
Row 1: Brussel Sprouts, Carrots, Cherries, Lettuce
Row 2: Cucumber, Potato, Corn, Olive
Row 3: Strawberry, Wheat, Grapes, Apple
Each picture from the “Belle the Wormier” page goes to a different numbered page, but they all have the same content. I double checked the source code for each one, but haven’t been able to find any other links. Hope this helps jump-start someone else’s thinking, because I’m stuck…

Also, I tried taking all of the letters from the title of the second page out of the words (for instance, removing all of the “I”s, the “T”s, etc), but it only came up with:

Tres, that and “Haunted Mansion” where scary monsters may scare you. Which given from last year they got the Grande Mansion to live in and from earlier this year we had the “scary window” thing and all that deal…
Hare is in hell with Claire. They are planning to escape.
Knacks said on his blog, “Our new way of living is taking some getting used to. I’m all for mixing things up but this is pretty ridiculous…. I kinda miss the old living room”
Taking into account the Haunted Mansion video, I believe that the Mansion has been compromised, and they were forced to leave, either by Hare and Claire, or by an inability to pay the bills due to Kuse’s unemployment.
Monsters/ghosts can be associated with Hell, so maybe Hare and Claire have somehow gained control of the Mansion using their new minions, and are raising an army in the form of a “Something Wicked This Way Comes” style circus.
Cap, good thoughts – if we throw in the scary window stuff though, maybe they evac’d from the house during giant sea monster attack, seeing as they were without food, electricity, etc…
Oh, and just on arcano.com…
Now, unless I happen to be missing something entirely obvious, I think we can rule out getting anywhere on there.
My reasoning, it just so happens that the .swf file is not protected from decompiling and flash files are client-side so when open they are damn open.
So, checking out the actionscripts and just the frames is a good indication.
There seems to actually only be three frames, that is the opening, the password and the password reject and there is no actual password set to check against – in fact, the textinput field doesn’t evn call against anything to verify.
I am pretty sure that what you are looking at is someones unfinished project on the web. Unless someone wishes to correct me with what I am missing.
I think we can officially rule out arcano.com. But i could be wrong.
Either meepy is in on all this with Matt, or he’s just some random dude who decided to screw with us, and knows absolutley nothing about this years calendar. Only time will tell.
I am almost certain dohopoki is in on this.

i think whoever is helping this year is just using the meepy name to do it. probably doho. i do think he’s in on it, because i don’t think he’d be a dick enough to start his own thing right when the advent calendar is starting.
i don’t thing guy #4 in row #1 is henry fonda, but the next guy is definitely milton berle. invader norbert told me on my blog that #4 is clint eastwood, but i don’t think it’s him now either.
I don’t think Doho is in on it, just because I’m pretty sure Matt likes to only rely on himself and not depend on others. Doho is just a confusing, surreal and, as a result of those two elements, amazing person, and this is just prime Doho-ness I reckon. I just wish I could get to read Doho’s older entries again.
As for ‘the audience being involved’, I’m wondering just whether Matt is going to tie more of the story in to what goes on, whether it’ll be a little more interactive and a little less rigid on linear.
Arcano.com–I agree with you guys. It’s a dead end.
meepy–Most likely some random dude just messing with us. It’s possible he’s recruited by Matt, but unlikely because I agree with Guise’s assesment that Matt seems to like to work alone and it’s not quite characteristic of him. But, I guess you can’t rule it out.
Doho–Doho’s just Doho. He was probably planning on doing something wacky anyway and it just happens to coincide with Matt putting the calander up.
Or, this could be a giant conspiracy involving the entire Barnum and Bailey’s Circus, a willing Spaniard web-master, some random, recruited dude that’s been posting on and off since summer of last year, and Milton Berle. If that’s the case, God help us all.
One thing I know for certain–I worked really hard on my poem a few posts back and have not gotten a single compliment on it from Rob (the inspiration) or Guise (the star subject matter of said piece), and for that I hate you guys and you can go to Hell. You go to Hell and you die. I am thrust into a pit of dispair that can only rival those dreamt up by fat 13 year old girls with divorced parents and extensive My Chemical Romance collections.
Do you have any idea how hard it is to come up a poem that utilizes Guise’s cooking prowess, dog-on-cat rape, spent spunk from said dogs, and the phrases “dirty porn”, “damp pudding”, “doghair paper”, and “damn pudding”? Yeah, you give it a shot and see what you come up with.
Now, if you’ll excuse me I’m going to go to a Tori Amos concert and write in my journal.
