FM, it’s a weird feeling to have not had to update the clue list, I’ve had to resort to just fiddling with other stuff all morning.
I even got so far as to get the Christmas decorations down, and the tree isn’t going up until Saturday night!
So, to kill time, how about off-topic questions?
When do you guys put trees up?

In Denmark we usually put up the tree the day before Christmas eve, and we toss it out just after New Year’s. My girlfriend and I recently moved to a bigger place, got ourselves a daughter in October, and I’m planning on changing all that starting next year. The tree will enter our living room at least a week before Christmas eve. Since we’re a family now, I have this strong urge to implement a couple of new traditions.

The day after Thanksgiving. =P My little sister would have it no other way.
Just like we go downstairs on Christmas morning at 7:00 AM sharp every year, and in the hour prior to that, she and I watch either A Christmas Story on TV or one of our many Disney Christmas cartoons from the 40s.
No Dec 5th yet?!?!? What the hell am I going to do all day? work?!?!?!
I hope Matt’s ok, and that he hasn’t taken a nasty spill and subjected himself to further school absences.

Anders, new traditions…that sounds like a good plan! About the only tradition change I’ve really seen in our families Christmas in the last 20-odd years was changing when we ate the turkey, because of needing to cook the bloody thing.
Belated congratulations, by the way. You’ll be able to capture all the Christmas wonder through the eyes of another!

Ben, last year my brother and I got our other brother a new DVD recorder, and as he was staying with us we took a 5am trip to his place to set it up. Of course, to test it we had to switch on the TV. 9am we realise we were meant to be back because I’m always at the tree by 7am!
Damn, Yogi Bears Christmas keeping me from my loot!

Tree went up last Sunday. We like to let Thanksgiving settle, but we’re eager so we can usually only wait till the following weekend.
The longer Matt takes, the higher the expectations. I’ll take the bunnies advice and hang tight. But of course I’m refreshing every hour or so. Can’t help it. I’m hooked on the 23.
And it keeps me from focusing too much on my work. Stress relief.

You know, maybe I’m losing my mind (too much rabbit on the brain…) but wasn’t there a small bunny on the traperkeeper header that is not there anymore? I remember seeing it a few days ago (don’t remember exactly when) and going “Hey, wait a moment!” and then clicking all around it, but nothing came of it. I just happened to be looking at the header and now there’s no bunny. I want to say it was near the pine tree on the right side. Please tell me someone else saw this bunny and I’m not just losing my mind! If someone else DOES remember it, did Matt remove another Red Herring, or is something more sinister afoot?

Trash, I believe the Thanksgiving header had a picture of a bunny and a little girl and this has been replaced with the Christmas-themed header.

TBB, well it says on the ALT text “down for today, try again soon”, so it may be Matt is updating it early for the 2007 version which he mentioned in another thread.
Guise: Fungus gave me a great heads up for dl’ding youtube stuffins. I have a program on my comp for compressing and encoding vids into something that both my iPod and iMovie can use. Thanks for the tip.
Oops, iMovie. I’m getting ahead of myself. XD
We just got our tree Monday night and we finished decorating our last night. ^^ Our tree is a Grand Fir (which I’d never heard of, I’m a Douglas Fir kinda gal), and it smells, swear to God, like Lemons. Its like lemon Pine Sol w/o the chemical smell. I swear by both my calendars. XD
I also like to hang mardi gras beads on the tree after all the ornaments are up instead of tinsel. Gotta find a use for all those damned beads instead of hanging them off a door. ^^

Well, right now my BF and I are supporting his mother, and she’s a co-dependent battleax. She has the say in ALL traditions, so while I would have LOVED to have gone and cut down a tree Dec 1st, SHE likes to go and buy a tree 2 weeks before the Holiday… So there’s nothing christmassey at my home. Bummer.
Still fiending for the Next Advent day.

I need mah fix, but I’ll survive without it. Besides, by the time I’m done with all the stuff I need to do today, it’ll be pretty darn late and I’ll have something to look forward to when I get back home. =D (BTW, I decided to name my Chia pet Neem Seal. Do an image search to find that one =P)

I’m using this sad delay in a new calendar entry to format and print every page from every previous advent calendar, so I can share it with my friends who don’t have the internet. Partly because I know they’ll enjoy it, and partly because I want them to stop thinking I’m crazy for buying Playmobil every year.
Ben: I’m never looking at Catholic Jesus the same way again.
My grandmother made these fried tortilla strips w/ sugar on them (we call them bunuelos), and I felt like I was 10 again. I haven’t had those suckers since grade school. Totally unhealthy though, and that’s why I ate a billion of them. ^^
I’m worried about today. This is Box 5 we’re talking about.

Ok I’ve offically lost it, when Matt said the update for teh advent calander would be 2:30 I immediately started thinking is that a refrence to 23 should I double check all the times of posting. Yup now crazy
