Hmm…I left a comment on Hssxxlllo’s user page on YouTube. Probably won’t do any good, but it’s worth a try, right? And does anyone have any theories about the Retarded Batman video? Nizz, there is an embedded YouTube video on /thing/ that if you click on it it’ll open YouTube, then click on Hssxxlllo’s username for it’s page. Lipton is just roarmarkabulous, that’s what’s up.

Graham, the page with the spell was from a webcomic so referred to that ‘universe’, not sure if Matt is following their rules. Also, gender hasn’t really been cleared up with the rabbits yet.

It doesn’t look like the Knights Duel Advent Calendar has a Santa per se, but there is an armored king. That’s more visually imposing, in my opinion.

Melonian, I think Mare II was the one they approached, but given their statements of doing what they had to do to keep being right and the person knowing too much, I think when she balked on them they gave buried her.

So, I think they’ve got a Santa and a Calendar, but Mare II is…resting peacefully.

Melonian, my guess would be the resurrection was for Santa, which the mysterious “N” told them where to find.

They found him, burnt and dead. (see http://www.dinosaurdracula.com/thing/Anniversary.gif) They dragged him back and used the spell to bring him back to life.

He revealed the location of another calendar to them.

They then tried to get an ally. I think it was Mare II, and that they have got rid of her in a rather gruesome fashion: the lines that make me think the person didn’t survive is : [obscured] knew too much though. We did what we had to, we did not do it to be evil. We did it so we could continue being right.

So it’s something that perhaps we would consider evil, but they see it as “carrotable damage”.

Re-reading that note they state that the plan started in 06, after the 05 calander. Since 05 ended with Lego Santa being left behind I wonder if he is behind it.

Kinda gruesome thought about the carrotable damage though… what if Mare II was “taken care of” in a manner similar to those bog men? That’s one of the only threads so far that haven’t really been connected to anything. It was a pretty grotesque story, but who knows huh?

I actually think that Hsxxlloo is the tech guy at Kuse’s workplace. That’s where he’s sending us all the info from (possibly sneaking around for that reason, hence the no response when Vinny called him). Maybe he’s a double agent; or an inside man having second thoughts and doubts after the murder of Mare 2? I think he’s always there with the red bunny too in many pictures, and might be the one surreptitiously videotaping all the stuff to give us the hints.

On a totally unrelated note Guise…I’m going to be moving to London this month from Toronto; I hope the Xmassy weather is a TINY bit less insane (we’ve had some crazy snowstorms here this weekend!)

Divechaz, heh, you really don’t have much to worry about with snow in London, the weather tends to be more of the liquid side. The light displays are usually quite good though.

Why anyone would leave Toronto for London, I can only hope there is either a lot of money or a lot of lovin’ involved!

As for who Hssxxlllo is, I kind of got the feeling from the YouTube (both video and user pic) that it’s the other one. Mainly cos the video looks just like my first one I ever took trying to set up a webcam - hand by the camera, camera shaking and wobbling, focus shifting, cold dead rabbit eyes. Guess we’ll have to wait on a second name to be sure?

I was thinking that Knacks’ Mare, who seems to have disappeared, is/was involved in the plot 9as someone mentioned above) because the resurrection spell needed both a male (ie, any Santa…like the 2005 Lego Santa?) and a female with a lot of magical power (and it has been shown time and again that Mare are very powerful magically.) Just a thought.

It doesn’t help too much because of the actual images used. We did say, I think on the last thread that it bore a resemblance.

If you look at the big blobby Almathea and check out the bottom left corner, you can see a differently coloured/textured blob.

I can’t be certain, but I have a sneaky guess that he:
1) nabbed the image from the animated YouTube video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mJcbcDWTTuI with Amalthea passing Jupiter
2) rotated the image
3) layered a cropped image of a photo Amalthea on top
4) layered a Santa hat above that, and
5) de-res’d the top layer to make it whacked out colour wise.

I’m thinking the message is: Amalthea is where they are from and where they brought the burned up Santa. All the references to the burn center leads me to believe he has been reconstructed, and I suspect he may be the red figure we keep seeing lurking in the house.

Kittymao… even mention bunny screaming, and all I can think of is the animated Watership Down movie from the 70s That was one freaky-deaky movie as a kid…especially when they got buried in the warren!

Guise, yeah, I kind of think the same thing too about the other bunny making the videos (possibly with a spy cam?).
In fact, I have a strange feeling this bunny (i.e not the red one who looks so nazi and ominous, but the shorter one with the yellow and white shirt) will actually turn out to help us, but only in a periphery manner, so as not to get caught by the other bunnies (possibly Almathea?).
Maybe he had second thoughts after they attacked (killed?) Mare 2, and wants to try and bring some peace. He keeps saying we’re not evil, we HAD to do it; maybe it’s not just us he’s trying to convince!

(and yup, you got it right….I’m moving from Toronto because of a whole lot of lovin’ that’s involved hehehe! :))

Why would the bunnies burn Santa? They secured him and would probably have a much easier time if he wasn’t charred. If I remember correctly, Mare II and Clair burned Santa so he wouldn’t foil their plans.

Rob, my only flaw with that one - although, I know that it was never actually shown who burnt it, but assumed because they lived at the Calendar and it was the home that was burnt - is the message in Anniversary.gif: We, so far, are in a good place. as N predicted the body was left and noone cared but us.

Which makes me think that they knew it was there as a body, but hadn’t acted before to tamper with it (or else why not just steal).

So, the prediction was likely made AFTER knowledge it had been burnt, with the expectation the heroes would leave a corpse.

Of course, this has some precedent, as Waiterbot left a whole heap of corpses in his house for a year - and they may still be there.

Box is to be orphaned and taken in by the cruel big rabbit, who already has loads of advent calendar children so as to get welfare checks for it’s 90-a-day carrot addiction.

Little Orphan Boxey, escapes at after travelling with Dirk Benedict and Lorne Green through space, meets up with a tall, bald guy (Waiterbot) and returns to avenge his parents slaughter with a brief musical number or death defying stunt atop a roller coaster.

Waiterbot then goes on to take over the orphanage and becomes known as Big Daddy Waiterbot - he’s only in it for the money though - and he still pimps out Waiterbetty to Legotron who has a habit of removing orphans’ heads.

Obviously people must have caught on this before, but maybe I’m a bit slow…

I am so frigging stupid! We all KNOW how mad Matt is for Star Wars, right?
The burned santa was Anakin a’la end of Revenge of the Sith (I’m sure everyone caught that earlier when he was taken away at the end of the 06 advent calendar).
The bunnies are like the dark side (or at least, a counter side to the Force of Xmas that we know and love).
Burned crispy santa was trained by the bunnies, and now has been resurrected as the bunny in red (a la Vader and the emperor!).

The sounds, the deep deep voice in the videos, the clicking could be similar to the deep breathing that Vader has in his voice box (Don’t rabbits click their teeth or something?)

Am I grasping at straws here? Why does it seem to click?

Bear w/ me:
I remember walking into 3 toy stores looking for 07’s advent calendar. When I asked my best dealer (lol) for 07, he said they were all bought by one person (an older lady I believe). O_O
1) what in god’s name would some one want w/ THAT many ACs?
2) he didn’t say what the damn thing was themed on (last years was a Walk in the Park or something)
So when I found a place that DID have them, I was confused. WHY IN GOD’S NAME IS IT PINK AND NOT X-MAS THEMED?
Even asking the employees didn’t help. They merely said if I wanted a christmas one, I could buy last year’s, of which they had a crapload.
This is what I’m thinking: Playmobile, notorious for messing w/ people w/ nonsenical presents, decided not to bank everything on this new unicorn princess dealie, and in some places (here in San Jose at least) are still selling last year’s.
As for Box 23, I’m still working that out. On another hand, why is Box (the son) talking like a baby? Wasn’t he using proper sentence structure last year? Maybe I’m dreaming.

I think Box is important becuz, to our knowledge from our exp from the AC, he is the only cross-species result of a Mare (whom are all essentially born from the ACs) and an outsider (or someone not from the cal). I mean, he’s not like normal children:
1)he seems to have powers (zap)
2) he required a AC box to “metamorphosize”, thus does not grow like a normal child.
Also: Mare’s mother. We can’t have seen the last of her. Perhaps her violence at Box as a child has changed him for this year (if I remember correctly, she htrew him across the house, right?)

Does anyone else remember that Amalthea is also the name of the unicorn in The Last Unicorn, after she’s transformed into a human by a spell?

Seems to me that the rabbits are possibly only in opposition to that particular Advent calendar, instead of really against our heroes.

relax people, Loren Ipsum is a web design tool to fill with text a template that’s being designed but there’s no text at the moment. It doesn’t mean anything, and you can check how it works and how is used at: http://www.lipsum.com/ So it’s probably that we caught a template that wasn’t supposed to be found and that would have been used for another purpose.

Anyway, Dio and Lex if you still have the .psd file, please, do send it by email and I’ll check it out in case there’s an actual layer that it’s worth comenting…

Kittymao - the plot is that she finds out she’s the last unicorn, but that the others are trapped somewhere, so she goes looking for them. On the way she meets a wizard cursed to be incompetent, who, when they reach the kingdom the unicorns (darn it, I keep typing Unicron!) are trapped in, the wizard rather spontaneously does a powerful spell that disguises her as a human so that she will not also be captured and names her as ‘The Lady Amalthea, my niece’ when asked who she is. They live in the castle of King Haggard and his son, a knight, while they search for the unicorns, and Amalthea falls for the knight as she becomes lost (as in more human) in her mortal human body.

The fact that these are knight and fairy princess calendars with a unicorn IIRC…well, it could be something, it might not be, tho.

My sister completely monopolized the 07 AC gifts so I stuck w/ opening last years (which I bought last jan). Since I put all the gifts in myself, should I keep what I know in each box to myself, or do people really want to know what’s in each box? I personally would like to stay mum on the subject, but if it would help to see how the bunnies figure into the story, I’d be happy to share.

I bought The Last Unicorn (damn, unicron XD) but I still haven’t seen it. Sounds good though.

Just moments ago, on Good Eats (episode “Puff the Magic Mallow”), Alton Brown used a mold he picked up at a “local junk shop” to create bunny-shaped marshmallows. He said, “ah, just imagine, in no time you’ll have your own little bunny army ready to do your bidding.”

It is a good thing that Hssxxlllo didn’t get to this “junk shop” before Alton did. Imagine how big an army our heroes would be facing if this mold had fallen into the wrong hands.

I am truly in awe of everyone figuring all this stuff out! I got halfway through the donnie darko website before saying ‘fark it’.

If I could add my meager 2 cents? It prolly means nothing, but the font for day “2″ is different. It looks to be ‘Century Schoolbook’ as opposed to the handwritten font of all the other days. This WAS the day we learned about dinosardracula.com/thing so maybe it was a hint to take closer notice? I noticed it b/c on day three, Tigerboy makes a reference to what font the lego calendar was using. Sorry if its been pointed out but now I’m hooked.

Ann, good catch on the font for the calendar - I don’t think we’d noticed that bit, I certainly didn’t pay it any attention.

I think Hssxxlllo might have forgotten to remove all the placeholders on the website before putting the new stuff up, but then he’s only a Rabbit (possibly, maybe). No doubt he’ll get a tip off and they’ll be down faster than an item in a smutty double entendre.

That vid has shook the very foundation of the Advent calendar… I don’t even know what to think anymore. Can anyone make sense of the artwork in the background of the office? Is it relevant? The artwork beneath the “This isn’t an office, it’s hell with fluorescent lights” looks familiar… the big V reminds me of a Kurt Vonnegut cover… I’m not sure how relevant the artwork is, but it may be a clue to the employer (in case that’s relevant).

It says “More More Production!”

That video made me laugh and be scared at the same time. The music in the background was funny to me, but the rest of it was creepy… That sounded like Bach or Castlevania. The latter seems like a legitimate choice since there was a castle in the background.

Why didn’t the bunnies open the older days’ boxes? It seems bizarre that they would just leave them piling up, unless they know what they are looking for and consider other items frivolous…

I’m doing the same thing, FM. Luckily, I work in my college’s library and it’s the end of the semester, so it’s been very slow lately.

As for the art in the office background, I can make out “More M (something) Production” in front of the giant V.

The first thing I thought of when I saw it was “V” the television series, but that probably has no bearing on anything at all.

Was that the sound a dying rabbit makes? It sounds pretty creepy. I think that may be what it sounds like when they talk, because it’s only audible when the bunnies are on screen and looking at each other, or what I believe to be the taller rabbit chanting the spell. (I think the tall one is a girl. It looks like she has bunny boobs.)

And to clarify, I’m 90% sure that song is Toccata and Fugue in D Minor by Bach. It’s the scary song you usually hear in monster movies. (particularly Dracula related ones)

I was continuing my search on the art in the first panel and I came across something interesting; a site on US propaganda posters in WWII. One of the power descriptions (they didn’t have the actual poster up) was described as this:

“One poster features the exhortation “More, More, More, More, More Production”; factories, refineries and a train provide the backdrop.”

I don’t know if this has any bearing on the whole mystery, but it’s kind of interesting.
