I’m so pleased that the gang was given the Unicorn calender this year, and so was I! Woo! Go unicorns! I can’t wait to see someone get gored! (I’m looking at you, Mista Snowman)
I have a sneaking suspicion the unicorns will be the heroes at the end of it all.
But we all know reindeer hate unicorns (kinda like clowns hating mimes… silence is pretentious. Unicorns try to be all stoic and shit), so that may be a wrinkle. How will it play out?? We must all wait and see.
Woo! Lego Santa callin’ the shots, a truly BAFFLING Advent Calendar, and an even eerier Lego AC. Is it gonna be the exact same throughout? Are Lego too lazy to make a NEW Advent Calendar? Cads!
If this countdown does not have a shot of Mista Snowman riding that pink unicorn, I will cry.

Rejoice! It has returned.

I don’t understand the confusion with the LEGO Santa. Didn’t we end last Advent with the Playmobil Santa being destroyed and LEGO Santa taking over so the old Santa wouldn’t have to do Christmas two years in a row? Wow…that’s three different Santas all in one sentence.

Karen: Right!
Also, for anyone curious, Playmobil did not offer up a new “standard” Advent Calendar in the States this year. (Unless I’m gravely mistaken.) So, we’re going to have to make some lemonade.
I too am thrilled about the pretty princess unicorn advent calendar.

D’oh! I was in bed last night around 10pm, and I was just dozing off, and then I thought- OMG its technically December 1st in New York right now! I bet Matt has posted the first advent! I layed there debating wether I should leave my warm cozy bed, or trek to the cold, cold office where our computer is. Unfourtunately, warmth won out at that moment! LOL- but- YAY 1st advent!!!

Matt:
Don’t worry about it. It’ll be a new type of chaos this year. Change can be good! When I saw that mass of pink, I grinned like an idiot. ‘What fresh hell is this?’ I wondered. Then I saw what came out of it. This year’s gonna be great.

I love James Lipton so much.
Great start this year! For the first time it’s making me really want an advent calendar of my own.

FUCK YES!!! The Christmas season has officially begun! I didn’t get the fairy princess playmobile advent calendar, I got the much cooler knight/castle/holycrapitcomeswithawoodenthrone advent calendar… Now I want the princess one. Damn it.
YES!!!!!!! Wonderful. I am already having a Holly Jolly!

Am I the only one for whom the Advent Calendar isn’t working??? I tried loading the link in both Internet Explorer and Mozilla Firefox, and all I get is this Comments page. What gives?

I think you are clicking the link in the blog (which just links to the full blog post). You need to click on the actual box in the advent calendar (currently with a picture of Santa on it).

Nice start Matt. Can’t wait to see what goes down.
OK, I clicked on the right link this time, and I have to say, this year’s Advent Calendar is starting out great! Hope you can keep up this level of creativity all December, without getting burnt out, Matt! Are you planning to do an Advert calendar, as well, this year?
Thank you! As someone who’s been following the antics of the Playmobil calendar ever since you started doing it, I’d just like to say how glad I am you’re back for another year… I’ve actually had almost two texts today asking me if “they” were “doing the Lego advent calendar thing again this year”… I’m really looking forward to seeing how this one pans out!

Nice job Matt! I just got around to reading this because I wouldn’t allow myself to see it until I read/re-read ALL of the previous Advent Calendars. It surprisingly took me a very long time. Lots of content there.
You are very talented my friend.

It’s baaaack. (cheers)
So, just to get all nostalgic, what’s everyone’s favourite x-e advent to date? As basic and simple as it was, I kind of have a soft spot for the original one (involving a crow and a fence, I seem to recall), where it really was made up as it went along (…I think!)
loved it. So glad it’s December. It is snowing here right now. We’re supposed to have up to a foot before it’s done and there’s already a good 6 inches on the ground.
I love december.
Remember back in the 80s when Mcdonallds had that whole Mac tonight adds with the moon singing, they discontiuned the adds here in the US, but Singapore still uses him, check it out, Mac tonight in CGI http://youtube.com/watch?v=mOlLIP9-vlQ&feature=related

kb – I’m so jealous. We’re supposed to have snow today, but I haven’t seen any yet, that’s for sure. And my stupid family is out buying crap when we should be decorating! (I’m not with them because I have an exam on Monday – I can justify not studying because of decorating, but not for shopping that’s not even Christmas related)

Tonight’s real SNT will be up in, oh, 1.5 hours tops.
Frankkyfire- yeah, I am pretty happy. I am being forced by nature to stay in tonight. AND there’s SNT, and I couldn’t make it to where my son was to pick him up after work (I’m mostly sad) but I haven’t had a night of nothing in months. I am very excited.
Who does that commercial where they light up a palm tree? I think it’s a beer commercial? It’s been on for AGES at Christmas, but they keep bringing it back.

Cameron T.-I could be wrong, but I think that’s Corona.
I am working in a toy store this xmas season and have been pushing the advent calendars for weeks and anticipating the return of Kuse and Knacks the whole time. woohoo
