Hmm… My goal for tomorrow, other than finishing a lab manuscript, reading a pro-death penalty argument (to balance the anti-death penalty argument I read earlier for my ethics class), and getting as much Super Mario Galaxy in as possible, is to compile a summary of every keyword, picture title, link, encrypted message, etc. But first, I gots to sleep.
Ben bugged me into writing my ideas for the numbers… according to basic numerology laws:
the 7’s that appear 4 times stand for thought and consciousness… your doing this and thinking of the creation
23= 2+3 = 5 which means action… you had to go though many actions to get to the end which is unending, as you still end up with 5 hence the restlessness part of the definition.
666 is 18 = 9 which is compleation
Using the Chaldean method of english letter numeric values you end up with

I am so confused. So there’s Jupiter and one of its moons, Irish corpses who cared about their appearance and who died rather horribly, the Number of the Beast (which could be one of three things, but is definitely over 600) and Frank Burns (who is somebody’s muse or something)?

Given the music, couldn’t the object in eve.mov be the manger from a nativity set underneath a gauzy curtain? It does sort of look like a square object with fake hay texture on. I don’t think that any of the shadows or shapes visible in the texture of the curtain are going to be meaningful, given the level of technology involved here.
The fact that the movie is under a folder called “WaitWaitWait” could be a reference to the Advent tradition of displaying a Nativity scene with an empty manger up until Christmas Day. Or it could be a sign that this is the end of the clues for now and that we’ve got to wait for further clarification. Perhaps Ben will get another message from chairboat.

My whole theory on #23 is that it’s a Cloverleaf teaser. The monster’s a giant rabbit bent on ruining the good time of timewasting nerds.
Another theory: there is absolutely no meaning for any of this. I think Matt just created this just to see how many people would get involved in this.
I’m not having a good time this week so anything to keep my mind busy is welcome, frivilous or not.

dohopoki, I tend to agree with the “Our Muse has Burns” thinking, seeing as the box that Santa was smoked in was box number 23. (I always thought they looked like kangaroos rather than bunnies though.)

I’m coming into this late, so this may have already been mentioned, but did anyone else notice how much the hands “something is new” page look like the hand in the photo of the bog men.
also, there are several easter references in the cryptic note. “Let’s do pastels…” a reference to the pastels of easter and “ovals better than circles” eggs are oval. I’m pretty sure the rabbit is taking over christmas

I’m not playing along, but I can tell you that they are Rabbits (unless Matt chooses to change them for the purpose of narrative/mystery) because there is a Bunny playset from Playmobil. Several actually:
Those bunny playsets are super creepy, especially the “Bunny School” with the little bunny teacher. I don’t trust them.
I am in no way smart or crafty enough to figure out any of this stuff, but you people working on it are totally awesome. If someone asked me to solve crazy anagrams or translate a page of Wingdings into normal text I’d probably cry, but you guys don’t seem to have much trouble with it. Kudos.

Trash, I layered the 2 pictures on top of each other and while I do think it looks like a clinched fist, personally I wasn’t able to line it up perfectly. The thumb’s are kind of in a different position. Someone else should try though.

Oh and dohopoki, I spent ages on the RatSee thing trying in Photoshop to see if there was a hidden message in the picture, because I remembered something from science class years back about rats seeing in a different way. I should have just unscrambled.
Has anyone else gotten the “the answers are there for u 2 share” message from Hssxxlllo? ‘Cuz I’m thinking that the Advent Calendare is gonna get invaded by a disgruntled easter bunny, and the message was his manifesto.
