I'm not much in the spirit either; for years the holiday has reminded me of an unpleasant breakup that happened, and now this year, at the start of the month I got what seemed like it should be my dream job working in a costume shop (opened year round but needing extra staff for their busiest season.) The job ended up sucking so bad I quit after just over a week (final straw was when the co-worker who was always "contradicting" me in front of customers got mad and called the boss to reprimand me when I dared do the same to him one day -- and the "contradiction" I made was merely to tell the customers the truth to a question he'd just knowingly given a false answer to.) Anyway, that costume job going sour has likewise soured most of my Halloween spirit. Costumes just bug me to look at now, since they remind me of that 8th Circle of Hell I was working in. Yeah, there’s some hex put on Halloween it seems.
