My dying wish is for an owl/camel hybrid, which I call camowl.

Well, I certainly shouldn't expect that too many people are around this Saturday night considering my own disappearing act, but if you're here, feel free to comment. What a weird Halloween season. I know it can't just be me. I'm off to find my macabre mojo for a while, but I'll be back later.

It is Halloween time on X-E – that means no more sad faces!

Go out and carve a fucking pumpkin! NOW!

Chestnuts roasted by 7. @ 10/15/2007 8:39 PM

If we carved a pumpkin “7.” it would just rot.
We have been over this.
I want to be in warm clothes with rosey lil’ cheeks.
I want to turn off the fucking A.C.
I want to see decorations in Rite-Aid and not think to myself…”Why are they putting up Halloween decorations in June?”
Ok I guess I’m being pissy again.
This one’s for you 7. :)

200th! Woohoo!

Chestnuts roasted by Ben @ 10/15/2007 11:21 PM

Now that that is out of the way, what should I carve into my pumpkin? I was thinking of using Dr. Tran, but that could possibly be a little hard. Any suggestions?

Chestnuts roasted by Ben @ 10/15/2007 11:25 PM

I don’t know where else to post this.. so I’ll ask here. lol

Matt: Did you watch any episodes of “The Two Corey’s”?

Chestnuts roasted by Jen @ 10/15/2007 11:33 PM

Yeah, I thought about posting randomly ’till I got to the 200th post, but I couldn’t think of anything clever. Thank goodness you thought of ‘Woohoo’…I’ll be naming my 1st child that. :)

But seriously Ben, instead of carving a pumpkin I’ve always just wanted to hallow one out and then stab it repeatedly and throw a candle in it. When people would ask ‘What’s with the pumpkin?’ I would respond ‘It’d be wise of you’se not ta ask questions’ and then hand them a fun size kit kat.

Also, I remember an episode of Night Court where Bull would ‘carve’ pumpkins by punching them. I’ve always wanted to do that, but would probably just wind up hurting myself.

I like Australia. There is no drug addiction, and everyone walks around with a perpetual smile on their face!

Jen,

The Two Coreys is fuckin BOMB. I love that shit. So much drama.

…I’m going to go be hetrosexual for a couple hours to make up for that.

Chestnuts roasted by Cotter @ 10/16/2007 12:02 AM

HauntSpot: I hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the next three Halloweens do not fall on Thurs/Fri/Sat. They actually will occur on Fri/Sat/Sun due to leap year.

Not that it falling on a Friday is a bad thing really… so maybe it is good news. Next year is a Friday! Hey! A great time to have a Halloween party!

OMG, remember that post you made about the commercial with the crying native guy???? Stephen Colbert just used the tear drop scene!!! Lol, he used it when doing a montage of Al Gore winning awards, because Colbert said that there was now Enviro-medal disaster ’cause Gore was winning too many.

The fact that Halloween is on a Wednesday should have no bearing on if you’re in the spirit or not. Unless you’re about ages 3-15, isn’t most of your Halloween partying done before the 31st anyway?

Chestnuts roasted by Clockwork @ 10/16/2007 7:47 AM

squee: yeah that part did suck… i haven’t watched last nights yet as it sits on my DVR however based on last week, expect one of his collegues from that old sci fi classic to start guest appearing.

Chestnuts roasted by Primus @ 10/16/2007 11:00 AM

I’m a sad panda. I went to bed last night before midnight hoping to see the renewed countdown. It was kind of like going to bed before the Easter basket magically appears in the room from the elusive Easter bunny. Then waking up to find it isn’t there and knowing the bunny is dead.

But don’t worry, Matt. Keep your chin up and we will be here when you start it up again. I still believe. I still believe.

First, in response to the thread’s title: Hufuhruhurr!

Next, anybody read a comic strip called Lio? It had a great Sunday strip about Hallowe’en stores. I really enjoy the strip, its like the love child of Charles Addams and Gary Larson with no dialog.

Strong Mad carved a pumpkin by punching it in the Homestar Runner cartoon called “Pumpkin Carve-nival.”

Does anyone know if there’s a way to download the Halloween jukebox songs to your hard drive so you can put on your ipod or cd? I would like to have it in mobile form.

Chestnuts roasted by KJS @ 10/16/2007 12:47 PM

KJS – I’m pretty sure you’d have to buy/steal/own the songs first and make your own jukebox…though I’m no technical genius. I was thinking earlier today the same thing, it would be great to have the jukebox with me in the car.

Chestnuts roasted by Jessica Marie @ 10/16/2007 1:38 PM

Idea – ask your fans to write Halloween Countdown messages – you pick the best ones and publish them :)

Wow, I haven’t posted here in a while and it all goes to crap!!!

I’ve actually been reading and catching up on everything I’ve missed thanks to work. These fuckers actually want me to be productive in return for them paying me!!

Anywho, I’m not the biggest fan of Halloween (I know, I have no soul….actually, that would work out well during Halloween), but yeah, the stores have been pretty thin on Halloween items. I keep seeing Christmas stuff everywhere. Although Christmas is my favorite time of year, I must concede that it’s WAY too early for it. Besides, it’s going to be 74 degrees tomorrow in NY, in friggin’ mid October!! WTH?!?!?!

Here’s hoping your Halloween spirits pick up everyone.

squee Sorry to hear about the loss. Hope you feel better…

Chestnuts roasted by Darth Galvatron @ 10/16/2007 2:14 PM

Yeah, I’m certainly not buying all of the songs and it would be nearly impossible to even find most of the songs if I wanted to steal or buy them.

So the Oklahoma weather is finally cooperating and, with every chilly breeze, I breathe in a little more Halloween. This weekend has been dubbed “Halloween Overload Weekend” in which the fiance and I will try to cram as much Halloween as possible. I hope that includes going to see Halloween as I’m really depressed that I’ll be the last of my friends to see it.

On a negative note, I went to Dollar General yesterday to pick up cat food and litter and they had THREE ISLES of Christmas junk. That’s two and a half more isles than they ever gave Halloween. All that’s left of Halloween is a thousand bags of that nasty Kiddie Mix candy and a few felt treat bags. Pathetic.

i am starting to hate judd hirsch!!! everytime i come to x-e and see his face it just makes me sad! i may never be able to watch taxi again.

Chestnuts roasted by sadsack @ 10/16/2007 2:52 PM

I have a theory.

The economy isn’t doing so hot, right? The retail industry thrives on Christmas sales, right? So maybe they’re trying to push it on us early to get us to spend more money. Well, I ain’t biting. I like to wait until after Thanksgiving to start spending money on Christmas, thank you very much.

Chestnuts roasted by Annette @ 10/16/2007 2:55 PM

I keep coming in the hopes there’s a new article… but alas. No complaints though- It just started getting all Autumnish here. In fact, I just got my costume Sunday- and that’s called “DOWN TO THE WIRE” in my world. I barely have time to customize it.
Don’t you worry though Matty… I’m pretty new here and still have TONS of articles and blogposts to wade through. Only when you stop writing will I start crying.

Chestnuts roasted by kittymao @ 10/16/2007 3:46 PM

Annette is BANG ON. They are already advertising toys during adult TV hours, the news, that sort of thing. They dont CALL it Christmas yet. But that is exactly what they are doing, the bastards!

To get a dose of Halloween tunes click my name or go here- http://cheekyboy.net/halloween.htm

The archives are worth checking as well. Hopefully this will get a LITTLE of the vibe flowing… Booyah!

Did anyone else get the special edition TF DVD today? The box actually transforms into Optimus Prime. One of my bosses left work today to go to Target as they opened to pick one up, and I made him get me one as well. Kinda a good thing. That way I was not distracted by all the other stuff I am sure would have had my wallet in its grip.
