To highlight just how without direction this particular SNT should be, I shall post gibberish: akkaksakskaka.

Just wanted to let everyone know that there is an additional set of Marshmallow Peeps “Spooky Friends” in addition to the ones Matt reviewed. It’s a pumpkin, a ghost, and (I think) a mummy. Found them at K-Mart today. Pic on the link.

These things are a little…gummier…than regular Peeps. They taste a bit like the knock-off Peeps from Frankford called “Marshmallow Pals”–more solid, a little fruity for some reason.

My Costco got rid of everything Halloweeny except for a few smoke machines. Christmas stuff is out in force. Buy, buy, BUY.

I feel really bad, since Phiones don’t evolve. It’s like “here, have a consolation prize.” It’s nice that they are doing Manaphy events in addition to the regular event pokes for this generation.

Otherwise, you have to play through Pkmn Ranger or know somebody who’s connected. I fell into the latter category, and will be forever grateful. She’s my favorite poke :D

I’m set up now such that I’ll have all of the D/P dex when I finish the story. I could care less about Darkrai, Shaymin, and Arceus. I’m so happy I have Manaphy, though. I love May and movie 8.

Whoops, Movie 9 :o

I really don’t have much to add except to ask this pokemon question:

Does Manaphy have Heart Swap when it hatches? I looked it up and it said it learned it at 76, yet my level 50 one already has it.

And I agree that Phione’s only existence is to add another pokedex entry. It’s somehow BIGGER than Manaphy, and lacks Tail Glow and Heart Swap.

Fortunately for me, I had a Magby with flame body on hand to hatch my Phione (pokemon with Magma Armor has this effect too)

I’ll also tell you of the “battle” I had with a kid at the TRU.

He told me he had level 100 pokemon, but my strongest was at 71, so he had to find some good pokemon near my level. In this kid’s (he couldn’t have been older than 13) case: This meant legendaries.

As much as I abhor the use of legendaries in a real battle, I disregarded it because:

1) The kid mostly had level 100 pokemon which was likely his normal team, and most of his legendaries were in the high 50s, low 60s (save for a level 70 Regigigas)

2) It was a little kid, with good chance that this was his first or second pokemon game, so he thought Legendaries were good to beat my Dream Team.

So here’s how it went down:

My dream team is: Golem (56, weakest one), Skuntank, Bronzong, Luxray, Staraptor, and Empoleon (71, strongest)

His team (what I saw): Luxray, Palkia, Dialga, Regigigas (level 70, strongest I saw), and Giratina (level 54 somehow, as you catch it at level 70 as well. I figure he got hosed in a trade with a hacked Giratina. Let’s see him try it in Battle Revolution)

How the batttle went down: It started with Golem vs Palkia, which I then switched out for Empoleon, which he then switched out for Luxray. Then I switched back to Golem, took out Luxray with Earthquake.

Then he brought out Regigigas. I used sandstorm and then earthquake. Not realizing Regigigas has the Slow Start ability, he used Superpower and Fire Punch with Golem still standing. Then I switched to Staraptor. Then he switched to Dialga. I then used Close Combat on Dialga twice to bring him down, and then he brought out Giratina.

Then I brought out Empoleon (Ice Beam for Dragon weakness). As his Giratina was preparing for Shadow Force (signature move, it dissappears for one turn and attacks pretty powerful the next). I decided to switch out for Staraptor so Shadow Force wouldn’t work.

The sad part is, when the kid realized that I could simply switch for Staraptor when he tried Shadow Force…he ran.

Sigh…

Regardless I appreciate it. I heard that they are supposed to come out with a Vista compatible version soon. As soon as I’m able I’ll take you up on your offer. And don’t feel bad, it’s one more rare than I would have had before! :)

Yeah, Dex says 76. Mine is lvl 44 and I don’t have it.

I’ve been pretty lucky as far as illnesses go this season. The boy who is my friend but not my boyfriend gave me a head cold the other week and I kicked it in a day. He, unfortunately, smokes and thereby had it drag on for quite some time.

I’m a little reluctant to go to bed because I finally got my upper ear cartilage re-pierced today and I know as soon as I put my head down I will face nasty pain. :(

At Wal-Mart, they have horror movie t-shirts including Nightmare on Elm Street, Army of Darkness, Dawn of the Dead, and Hellraiser.

And in the cereal aisle they have…

Cap’n Crunch’s HALLOWEEN CRUNCH!!!

Featuring little ghost cereal pieces that turns the milk green.

Ghosted by Luap @ 09/30/2007 12:30 AM EDT

Halloween Crunch? You’re shitting me. Please say you’re shitting me. …. does it have a cut-out mask of the Cap’n on the back?

Hey Happy SNT! Just picked up Short Cirtcuit 2 for $5.99 at Hastings. Still a great movie! It’s probably been 10 years since I’ve seen it…

Now if only they’ll come out with a subtitled version of the first one. :(

hey, has anyone seen the making of nightmare on elmstreet 4 documentary? i bought it on ebay a while back and finally watched it. it’s hilarious.

Ghosted by james smith @ 09/30/2007 12:50 AM EDT

I have not been on here posting much lately, but I am reading all the entries. And loving them. Especially the dancing skeleton.
Invader My son has been coming home from school and talking about pokemon non-stop. What would I buy that he would enjoy to get him started? (he is 6)

It depends on how much you want to spend. You can get an older Game Boy SP pretty cheap which will play all the older Pokemon games. Or you can splurge for the DS which plays all the older GBA games as well as the new Diamond and Pearl games.

Ghosted by Dan H @ 09/30/2007 1:03 AM EDT

I have a sore throat and am definitely starting to feel a little queasy; I hope I’m not getting what everyone else seems to have. I do have work tomorrow, but not for very long.

I saw two aisles of Christmas stuff at the Target in Deptford yesterday, but it was all the way in the back. It was mostly still Halloween. I didn’t get anything – it’s hard to find Halloween stuff. I have a lot already, and I’m not into really gross, spooky stuff.

Ghosted by starwenn @ 09/30/2007 1:15 AM EDT

I was more thinking along the lines of toys, do they make pokemon toys?

Ghosted by kb @ 09/30/2007 1:24 AM EDT

They do indeed. Toys R Us usually has a pretty good selection of them.

Ghosted by Dan H @ 09/30/2007 1:32 AM EDT

I live in the land of Pokemon.
If anyone needs any obscure japanese Pokemon goods, maybe I could hook you up?
I assume that America pretty much gets everything that we have here though…

We got a free preview of Showtime this weekend so I’ve been watching that. Just got done watching “Hostel” on it. It’s interesting, but nowhere near as good as the first two Saw films (the third one kinda sucks).

Ghosted by JLAJRC @ 09/30/2007 1:49 AM EDT

I hate to say this to ya, JLA, but there’s a Saw IV coming out in the next few months…

Guys I just found out the old Goosebumps TV Series is going to start re-airing again on Cartoon Network starting monday night! If you were a kid when this was around you should be as excited as I am to watch this inredibly corny and cheesy tv show

Ghosted by Thew @ 09/30/2007 3:49 AM EDT

Goosebumps was a TV show? I remember the books, that’s for sure, but I don’t remember seeing it on TV. I saw ‘Are You Afraid of the Dark?’ though – the only episode I really remember is this one where a kid’s trapped in a mall with a giant pinball chasing him for eternity. WTF?

Do you have access to Godzilla stuff as well? If so I’d be interested in talking to you about that.

Ghosted by Dan H @ 09/30/2007 4:10 AM EDT

Diamonds
I, like Dan H, would also be very interested in Godzilla stuff!
Godzilla was definitely my hero as a girl.
Mothra was (is) my mortal enemy — I have a moth phobia (Mottephobia)… I’ve had that for as long as I can remember.
Spiders, centipedes, etc… they don’t bother me. But, I’ve been known to scream and hyperventilate when moths are around. *shudder*
I remember a camping trip in college, during a run a moth the size of a fist flew from the waist high grass and landed on my chest. I remember screaming, and that’s it.
I woke up with 10 people around me; they’d all heard my scream from camp and thought I was being molested.
I thought I was having a heart attack… luckily didn’t piss myself when I fainted!

Just thought I’d stick with Matt’s suggestion for no real topic, and have a mighty convoluted ramble!
Happy SNT

Dan H,
I’d like to help you but unfortunately I don’t know anything about Godzilla stuff.
I mentioned Pokemon because it’s everywhere and therefore easy to get.
What kind of stuff are you interested in?
If you have any interest in modern stuff like candy toys or vending machine toys,I could keep an eye out.
However,if you’re interested in old/collectors stuff I don’t think I can help,sorry to dissappoint.
Feel free to ask me about anything specific though…ya never know…

Just saw your post Raechel,
my previous post counts for you too!

Someone *please* help me identify this obscure 1980s toy line!

There were these toys in the late 1980s, had to be released between 86-89. They were like Popples for boys… they were rude, crude monster creatures with long tongues. When you squeezed the dolls stomachs, they made a fart-like sound, but it was supposed to be the sound of the doll making a “raspberry” with it’s tongue. I thought they were called Razzies or Razzles, but when I search the net for those, all I get is bad movies and candy/gum. (if anyone is wondering, these aren’t Boglins that I’m talking about)

Does anyone remember and know the name of this toy line? I figure if someone could help me, they’d be on X-E.

Thanks for reading! :-)

Don’t know what your internet connection situation is like, but can you not just get a wireless router? You can probably find one cheaper than the Nintendo WiFi adaptor if you look..

Nicole

I think they where called Rascals if I remember correctly but I can’t find anything online in regards to them.

Ghosted by El Loco Gordo @ 09/30/2007 9:17 AM EDT

Definitely get a wireless router if you can, Dan. Look at Best Buy, you can usually get a decent g router (game router) for less than $50.

Clawmarktoys.com is a good site for Godzilla/Ultraman/Gamera merchandise. Also if you live near a KB Toys, they should have the new series of Godzilla figures in,and KMart usually has some figures from the last couple series.

So how many more of these hardcore Pokemon conversation are the rest of gonna have to wade through? ;)

Just kidding (slightly): I enjoyed the game back when I got it, but was over it after like a month or so…but to each there own.

I miss the old days of SNT sometimes :(

Ghosted by Shuanfu @ 09/30/2007 11:52 AM EDT

What’s changed, Shuan? Just the Pokemon stuff, or something else? Fewer people around/not enough back and forth?
I never watched the Goosebumps show, but the (constant) commercials have gotten me interested. I’m guessing they’re based on the books? Ooh, they must be, because Night of the Living Dummy is playing next week. I’d love if they’d play some Are You Afraid of the Dark.
Good luck with the new career track, Wukong! And from way upthread, welcome in Jeffininer!

I’d definitely push for a moratorium on the Wii/DS friend code thing for a while.

Oh, and I found cold rum/cider to be just as agreeable as hot rum/cider last night, if not more so. Simpler, too: 10 oz cider, 2-4 oz Captain Morgan, and a dash of cinnamon if you want it to feel like more than just that.

Downing two of those made me pretty agreeable to Disturbia, which popped out of the PPV menu last night and seemed like the right thing to order. Fun little movie.

You seem to be getting sick a lot lately, Matt.

If it means getting some more sleep, skip a few articles for us.

Oh shit Goosebumps marathon TOMORROW. So. Fuckin. Pumped.

Ghosted by Cotter @ 09/30/2007 1:14 PM EDT

Honestly, there’s something in the air around here. Everyone I know has been sick lately. I’m just a dolt who refused to go get real antibiotics last time, so I probably never really recovered from the last bout.

That said, the person who mentioned Halloween Crunch up above has given me my will to survive, and maybe even shower, as I must have a box of that before sundown.

Ghosted by Matt @ 09/30/2007 1:16 PM EDT

Hey Matt, have you played Carnival Games for Wii yet? I’ve heard good and bad things about it, but just the idea of it makes me want to play it.

Ghosted by Tommy @ 09/30/2007 1:17 PM EDT

I did watch the Goosebumps show. It didn’t last very long, maybe a year at best. I’m even hesistant to call it a tv show, it was more like a series one-hour tv specials based on the books. I definately remember “Living Dummy”, “Monster Blood” “Haunted Mask” and “One Day at Horrorland.”

I have no intention of seeing Saw 4, unless it’s on tv sometime.

Ghosted by JLAJRC @ 09/30/2007 1:27 PM EDT

Carnival Games is worth buying, but it’s not earth shattering. Think of it like Atari with updated graphics and motion controls. It doesn’t take to long to “get the hang of” most of the games, but they can be tough to master.

Ghosted by Kid Nicky @ 09/30/2007 1:43 PM EDT

Cool I’ll probably get it since its cheap. Have you heard about this $20 game coming out aptly called “Game Party”? It’s go beer pong in it!

Ghosted by Tommy @ 09/30/2007 1:45 PM EDT

I didn’t know you were fluent in Gibberish.

Philip G. – Eczema is definitely torture. I’ve dealt with it on and off since probably 3rd grade, the itch is so impossible to deal with. My condolences.

I’m sick too, with this cold that just malingers…I’m usually quick to kick colds, and rarely get sick anyway, but I’ve had this since Tuesday. And I was already on antibiotics for a different thing by Wednesday, so this should have been gone fast. Blah.
Now I have to decide if I have the energy to go to my friends’ house to watch the Steelers game.

Ghosted by Jessica Marie @ 09/30/2007 1:56 PM EDT

Wow, yet another SNT I missed, but hopefully this will my last one. I was out of town again training at the new job so I had no internet access, but I’m actually at the new job now and it’s dead here with nothing to do. Still being the new guy, I can only do so much so they won’t let me do much other than messing around on the net for the most part. Nice to be a part of the Sunday spillover of the SNT though.

And I’m happy to say that I met the new roommie today and will be moving next Saturday, thus ending my 25 day stretch of working somewhere with no days off. I think I’m on Day 21 of that right now. Now, there’ll be no more driving an hour and a half every weekend out of town to go to work. What was once out of town, will just be…town.

Ooooo, Goosebumps?! It’s as close as I’m gonna get to Are You Afraid of the Dark so I guess it will do. I tried to DVR all showings…too bad there are so many new shows I want to watch at the 8:00pm hour :-(

That cider sounds tasty. I’ve got a bunch of rum left over from last night so I shall try it.
So does this free Showtime weekend last long enough to catch the new Dexter tonight? I’m watching Arachnophobia for the first time right now…I hope there’s a good payoff, because this is slooow.
