2007′s Best Halloween Candy, Part I.

There seems to have been a small debate as to whether I was going to make the deadline for tonight's entry. Guys, guys, guys! You know I usually wait until we're at least two weeks into these little projects before I start letting people down. No, I made it. I've got five of this year's greatest Halloween candies, right here.

God, I wish I didn't have to go to work tomorrow. Why do I always get inspired to do the best "doing nothing" things when I have no time to do them? I really want to degenerate into a pool of couch slime and watch Dream Warriors or something right now, but there's no time. Now, tomorrow night, I might have some time...but will I do it? There's a moral in here if you peel away enough words. Don't waste the time you have to do nothing doing something. Gon' run that shit on a tee shirt with mah domain name underneath it, yes sir I am.

Survey: Weird one. Name a horror movie you've always wanted to see, but somehow never have, and count on everyone else to tell you if you're missing out or not. I realize that this is a bit of a convoluted survey, but that's okay, I have faith in us. If horror movies are too far from your point of interest, I guess we can open the doors to other types of films, too.

IT… I’ve read the book twice now (just finished it today) and have yet to see the movie. I dunno if I want to, Derry just seems like it could be my town. Kinda creepy to think about it.

I’ve always wanted to see “The Vanishing”, but the original one and not the American remake. I also want to see the original “Wicker Man”.

Damn…I think I’ve only posted on here a couple times, but this is the closest, I’ve ever gotten to first.

All of those candies are new to me except for the gummy bag. I haven’t really taken a good look at Halloween candy in the grocery store where I work yet, and I’ve already sold some. The Halloween section at the store is small (it shares space with the baking section), but managed to have a better selection of spooky goodies last year than the stores with shelves and shelves full.

I’m actually gonna save this article for tomorrow. So it seems like less time till the next. Sad? Maybe. But i lost my job last week and i currently don’t have much to do in the days haha.

Also, Nosferatu, eine Symphonie des Grauens

Am i missing out there?

I rated your video as awesome. Cause truth. And, that spider is a master of disguise. I was like did he forget to put it in the picture? It will bite your toes, from your carpet.

9th is close to first. Also, Leperchaun and Maniac.

Chestnuts roasted by Wolfman @ 09/24/2007 11:43 PM

The Leprechaun series as a whole is worth watching, but I think the first one’s a good place a start. Obviously, being what it is means it’s a little tongue-in-cheek, but it’s still an actual horror movie with all the crap you’d want from an actual horror movie. Plus, it’s fun to watch the Leprechaun and know that he’s really an Ewok.

So, i sit here drinking my sour lemon drop dead jones soda, and i have to say that i love love love this countdown. it gives me something to do while the fiancee plays PS2 games that are annoying to me. i just cannot wait for halloween to happen yet, in the past few years it has lost the magic for me, just because i always have to work on halloween, but now that i am reading these blogs i am actually planning out costumes and all that fun stuff. im thinking banana.

Is the sour cotton candy as sour as one of those Warheads? You know….the candy thats famous for its 10 seconds of extreme sourness then transforms into a sweet candy. I might want to pick some up to try it if it is.

By george Matt you’ve done it again.
Now to plan a trip to the states so that I can actually purchase these tasty treats, try 2 and then put them in the clost with my Jones soda mini cans from last year’s Target trip. totally worth it.

Amityville Horror. I’ve never seen it but always wanted. I think I’ve seen all the other ‘major’ horror movies bu that one.

Chestnuts roasted by Shuanfu @ 09/24/2007 11:52 PM

A Nightmare on Elm Street. Always wanted to, but never got around to it. Also, the first Halloween movie. And the Rob Zombie remake.

Chestnuts roasted by AccidentalMartyr @ 09/24/2007 11:56 PM

A-candy sounds really good

B-I have never seen The Exorcist, and want to, but maybe never will.

Chestnuts roasted by kb @ 09/24/2007 11:56 PM

Sleep Away Camp (the original, I’ve seen the two sequals. Part 3 should seriously have won some kind of award for most awkward, uncomfortable “sex” sccene ever.). I’ve never managed to see it, but it’s on the NetFlix now.

I just watched Return to Horror High, a truly bizarre chunk of ’80′s cheese. I swear they originally had two different movies that they spliced together. It was goofy and fun over all, though.

Dang it, I lay off the refresh button for 5 minutes (I’ve always been more of a curser guy, just not down with the F5 just yet) and look what happens. Oh well, I missed my shot at firsties but maybe I’ll make lucky 13.

I’ve got a new reason to love Kit Kat now. The almighty Reeses has always held a special #1 place in my candy list, but Kit Kats definitely make it into the Top 5. I disagree a little though. I really dig the top design with the bats and moon more than the bottom one. The bottom one’s cool and all, but the top one…well, it’s got bats. And that’s just about all I need, really.

Skeleton Pops are the shit! Skeleton bodies with lollipop heads! Why didn’t this happen sooner??

As for horror movies, being a big ol’ horror buff, My Netflix list is full of stuff I want to catch up on. I was so jazzed to find today that they finally got Dr. Giggles. I missed that one and have never been able to rent it anywhere. As lame as this sounds, I really want to see Cursed, and don’t know why I haven’t gotten around to it yet. I know it’s probably crap but it’s got werewolves and that’s always a good time and I’m completely, (and proabably creepily) obsessed with Christina Ricci. Maybe I’m just waiting till she makes her very last movie ever, and after I’ve seen them all and am starving for new Ricci stimulation, I’ll be able to say, “Wait! There’s one more, and it’s got werewolves!” Kind of like my Christina Ricci version of an emergency $20.

I’m sad that I haven’t seen more of the classic zombie films like the original Dawn of the Dead and I haven’t seen many of the F13 or Nightmare on Elm Streets. But that shall be remedied soon enough!

And I love the dancing skeleton vid. Tres cute. :P

Chestnuts roasted by Special K @ 09/25/2007 12:00 AM

LemonWitch I’ve got all the Sleepaway Camps on my Netflix list too and can’t wait to finally get round to those. The trailers look hilarious.

AccidentalMartyr and Special K The both of you should really be ashamed of yourselves. Seriously. I want you to both go to your rooms and think about what you’ve done and I don’t want to see you again until you’re caught up on classic 80′s slashers. Come on folks, this is X-E Horror 101 stuff here. You know, if you’re just not willing to bring something to this….I don’t know…*throwing hands up in frustration*…..I just can’t work like this!

Chestnuts roasted by DJ D @ 09/25/2007 12:07 AM

Don’t you just love Halloween? By the way, it’s my birthday tomorrow, I will be the big 21. I was pleased to bring in September 25th with a helping of X-Entertainment! Thanks Matt.

i’d make that shirt and wear it proudly, i agree with the philosophy

Chestnuts roasted by Jess @ 09/25/2007 12:16 AM

I always want to see horror movies, but I’m too scared to usually watch them. Except Nightmare on Elm Street. So pretty much all horror movies fall under that catagory for me…

Hey Matt, where did you find that awesome bag of indivudally wrapped peeps? My dad loves those…he’ll freak if I can find a bag!

Chestnuts roasted by Jill @ 09/25/2007 12:20 AM

,Amityville Horror was the first horror movie i ever saw,i was very young, maybe six or so.Don’t know why my mum let me watch it…it scared the hell out of me (that dude tapping on the window, bbbrrr)and is the reason why to this day,i compulsively check that all windows and doors are locked a hundred times before going to bed at night.
(The next movie i saw was Poltergeist which made me terrified of all my toys.)
Have been screwed up ever since.
