X-E's 2008 Halloween Countdown is capable of soul-eating.

07/13/2007: Summer Megaparty: Friday the 13th!

Today is Friday the 13th.  You better watch some you-know-what movies tonight.  I’ll kill you if you don’t.  Thankfully, AMC continues its development into “old faithful” with this awesome lineup going into the wee hours:

  • 10:30 PM Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood
  • 12:15 AM: Friday the 13th Part III
  • 2:15 AM Friday the 13th Part VII: The New Blood (Again?)

Not a bad run, but I stand by my recommendation of Parts 2-4 as the a newbie’s best introduction to the Land of Voorhees.  If you’ve passed on anything starring Jason in the past out of a mere apathy for slasher movies, I should remind you that I’m a hardcore fan and really couldn’t care less about that aspect of the films.  Beyond the dated scripts and bad acting, you’ll find kids having the kind of lawless, awesome vacations you’ve always pined for.  The fact that this monster in a hockey mask rips their kidneys out just when they’re starting to get boring is just the cherry on top.

You’ll see what I mean if you give AMC’s mini-marathon a run — and if you do, set yourself up right.  Go out, by a six-pack.  Buy junk food.  Not just “junk food” in spirit, but real junk food.  I’m talking Cheetos, and old school Ruffles with that shitty onion dip that you haven’t had since birth.  Drink and eat enough of the aforementioned items until you’re such a sad sack that any inkling of getting up to do something more productive with your Friday night dissipates.

Dim the lights, and if there’s enough of a breeze, crack the windows.  Even if you do crack the windows, continue running the air conditioner.  Hell, bring out the fans too — and make sure your face is one of the places their collective wind will hit while oscillating.  Make it cold enough to warrant a throw blanket, because Friday the 13th movies are better with blankets.

Grab magazines.  Doodle pads and pencils, too.  Maybe even your laptop, since I’m hoping that the thread for this entry will be filled with people watching the marathon and gushing about it.  F13 movies are to be watched, yes, but they’re also perfect as background noise.  Do some light fluffy reading.  Draw.  Make little creatures out of clay.  Just make sure you’re doing all that stuff from the couch, and make sure you’ve got a free hand for the fifteenth bag of Cheetos.

Don’t go to bed, either.  You probably won’t make it through three F13 movies, but don’t go to bed.  Wallow in your filth.  Sleep on that couch, full of crumbs and books.  If you smoke, I want half of those empty (or 90% empty) beer bottles to end up as filthy, disgusting ashtrays.  Doesn’t this sound like a great night?

And, of course, soak in the films.  They aren’t masterpieces.  They were never designed to be.  But even at their worst, they’re films that bring out a zillion feelings worth feeling — everything from love to lust, hope and hopelessness, ambiguity and the inevitable.

Oh, and you might just find out that Jason is pretty great, too.  He really is.  If he didn’t kill people, he’d be like the ugly neighbor who you could always count on to help carry new furniture up the stairs after it got delivered.

If you’ve got buddies who’d be into this sort of thing, it’s even better if you invite them over.  But that’s a different kind of night entirely, and something tells me your friends will grow too impatient with all of the commercial breaks and key bloody scenes that AMC is sure to cut out.  You’ll probably end up playing poker or something, which is great, but it’s a waste of a perfectly good F13 television marathon.

We have to go out for a little while, but I should be home in time for the festivities.  If you’re around, interested and able, let’s turn tonight’s thread into a virtual slasher movie slumber party.

I concur.  This entry couldn’t sum it up any better.  I just wish they were playing a more varied line up.  At least number 3 is in there.
Happy F13!

The cable in my room is farked, so I’m going to the video store. And Walmart. I needs TF.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/13/2007 6:51 PM EDT

I’m doing it up right and having a Camp Crystal Lake  sleepover. We’re going to eat hot dogs and watch every movie. First one to fall asleep gets murdered.

GloomyJack has the right idea!

I’m not a big fan of the Friday the 13th series (yeah, yeah, I know), so maybe later I’ll watch Poltergeist or something.

I find that AMC always has good intentions, but they never seem to show the good installments in a series at a time when I can actually watch them.  Last Halloween, they waited until the one night that I had somewhere to go (a Halloween party) to show something I actually wanted to watch.  Bleh.

Ghosted by Annette @ 07/13/2007 7:10 PM EDT

A Camp Crystal Lake sleepover.  I’m drooling, it sounds like so much fun, especially if you have a Jason wallbreaker like Matt.  Hope nobody gets killed.  Wouldn’t that be a great idea for a movie–it’s the ultimate post-post-modern hyperaware idea:  a bunch of teens and 20-somethings get killed during the course of a Friday the 13th marathon.  Only one girl, the shy one who didn’t want to be there in the first place, survives.  We could get Thom Mathews to play the killer.  What ever happened to him?

Ghosted by FyarlGirl @ 07/13/2007 7:10 PM EDT

I was just thinking earlier this week how lucky I was not to have to work today.  Then I figured, irony will get me, and Jason would show up at my house and kill me.  I’m still alive!

Ghosted by heeree9 @ 07/13/2007 7:11 PM EDT

I think this should go on Digg as “The ultimate Friday the 13th guide”.

My favorite Fridays are definitely Part II, 3, 6, and Jason Takes Manhattan (that’s right… I said it). I’ll probably get flamed for even mentioning Part 8, but it really is a great movie… cruise ship aside.

Ghosted by Cotter @ 07/13/2007 7:17 PM EDT

Not just “junk food” in spirit, but real junk food.

So we’re talking like whole boxes of Little Debbies, right? Yeah, I guess I don’t really need to eat the rest of the weekend. If my DS connected to my god damn wireless internet I would suggest mass Pokemon battles while watching F13, devouring Cheetos, and writing blog comments about doing such.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 07/13/2007 7:18 PM EDT

OH MY GOD WOULDN’T THAT BE WEIRD IF MANIMAL’S BABY WAS BORN ON FRIDAY THE 13TH?!

(Yes, this is deserving of all caps)

Ghosted by Mystie @ 07/13/2007 7:30 PM EDT

I’ll be here, Matt. By about that time I should be wrapping up with my online graduate program for the night and feel the need to watch people being chopped up into hobo-stew.

Ghosted by Bill @ 07/13/2007 7:36 PM EDT

Hehe .. I haven’t seen part 3 since i was a wee lad! I should check that out … I never made it past part 5, so i don’t think i’ll get much out of part 7. But part 3 — Jeez, they don’t make em’ like that any more.

I haven’t smoked any cigarettes in almost a year either, but reading this blog makes it seem so inviting! Like I’m fulfilling a need! I have purpose!

Ghosted by James @ 07/13/2007 7:38 PM EDT

I feel sorry for you guys that have to settle for what AMC chooses to show you. I’ll be cuddling up with my Friday the 13th box set. Hmmmm…which one should I watch…

Ghosted by Kris @ 07/13/2007 7:48 PM EDT

Hmm…not cable for me.    Maybe I can torrent one up before it’s over.  I think my mom is going to baby me a bit because I’m her baby and this is her last time to do it one on one since Pops and the wife are out of town.  Big City Burrito here I come.

Ghosted by Mad Cow @ 07/13/2007 7:49 PM EDT

I love the smiley face Jason mask. it has officially made my day.

Ghosted by Ann @ 07/13/2007 7:55 PM EDT

I think watching them on DVD is missing Matt’s point to some extent.  Half of the fun would be watching them, commercials included, knowing that the others in the thread are seeing the exact same thing as you at precisely the same moment.

I’ve got the DVD boxset as well, but watching AMC’s versions (even edited) with live in-thread commentary sounds much more appealing.

Count me in.

Ghosted by Magic Toe @ 07/13/2007 7:57 PM EDT

Crispin Glover and Kevin Bacon… the cute chick from the second film… a villain who has no need to speak, but merely stands and emits waves of sheer terror… idyllic summer vacations, complete with all the beer, dope, sex, and transcendental outdoors one could fantasize about… how can these films be considered any less than masterpieces?

Ghosted by Jusen @ 07/13/2007 7:58 PM EDT

They didn’t have III, but I got VII. I get to watch all the good bits. w00t! Walmart was raped, just like the Target I went to yesterday

No, I don’t want Bonecrusher or Swindle.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/13/2007 8:02 PM EDT

In a bit of role reversal, I’m as much into Friday The 13th as Kneg is into pokemon. Not as an insult, it’s just that I’ve never been into these kinds of flicks, but more power to ya. These kinds of blogs/articles are always fun to read.

In Friday the 13th Spirit…I have a black cat, and fortunately, she hasn’t crossed my path yet. I also always make sure to pick up coins face up. They seem to be luckier that way. I managed to snag a few quarters today to boot, so maybe there’s some truth to it.

iAMYou=Fraidy Cat.

Y’all have fun watching the Friday the 13th marathon without me. I believe I’ll just catch up on magazines. My stack has gotten out of control.

In a bit of role reversal, I’m as much into Friday The 13th as Kneg is into pokemon.

So you like F13 aesthetically, but you have enough obsessions already so you settle on acting like Jason on the internet?

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/13/2007 8:10 PM EDT

Count me in. And may I make a suggestion for something to watch during those long commercial breaks?

http://tasvideos.org/416M.html How about a tool-assisted speedrun of the NES Friday the 13th? (This means that they use slowdown and save state spam to make the game as perfect as they can. This is one of many runs of F13)

I’ll be grabbing and seeding and, despite not really having the stomach for gore in general, I’m in. I got nothin’ better to do and I’m trying to ‘fix’ my sleep schedule (ie, bed at 5am, wake up at noon). Let’s party.

Ghosted by ChibiSoma @ 07/13/2007 8:12 PM EDT

To be fair, MagicToe, it’s going to be disjointed anyway, as we’re spread across time-zones pretty well here at X-E.

I’ll be in the Eastern view party. I’ll start the DVD at 10:30 to coincide with AMC.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/13/2007 8:28 PM EDT

Again I get to be happy that my maiden name is Vorhies so I got to cash in on the F13 hype as a kid.  One of my sisters is named Crystal so that was also pretty cool.  Other than that the name sucked because it meant I was always at the ass end of every f’ing line at school because those bastards always went in alphabetical order for everything!

I may have to pass on the old school cheetos because the orange always creeps me out but I can totally do the onion dip and ruffles.  It is on with the Lil’ Debbies…just you wait and see.

OH OH OH and I am all over the Hallmark ornament premier tomorrow.  I LOVE CHRISTMAS IN JULY!  I just wish Matt would get on the Christmas in July bandwagon and start an early blog fest with it.  December is so far away…

Ghosted by Cricket @ 07/13/2007 8:30 PM EDT

You know, not that this is TOO on-topic, but I’ve been trying to think of a themed Pokemon to base around Jason. The only requirements I have so far are that it can learn Slash and it’s weak to Water-type moves. :3 Any thoughts, Pokemon players?

(Likewise, I have a potential Freddy build. But he has to be weak to Fire-type moves and needs to know the move called Dream Eater :D)

Ghosted by ChibiSoma @ 07/13/2007 8:38 PM EDT

I was born on Friday the 13th, no joke. And it was a cold January night, no less.

Jason has been trying to get me in on the biz for years.

That is true I guess.  The F13 marathon starts at 9:30 CST.  Seems like the ones who would be out of luck would be those on the west coast.

My satellite service doesn’t have AMC…this means no Monster Week or whatever in October. Double damnit!

I had a dream last night that (in the dream) I was dreaming and Freddy was trying to kill me. He slashed my friend’s face into ribbons and I made myself wake up. I sighed “yes, this is real” at which point Jason crashed through the door behind me with an axe and strong-armed me to the floor. I somehow managed to escape by using a weird moped that floated on the nearby swamp. It was a pretty cool dream.

Ghosted by Eddie Lightning Frog @ 07/13/2007 8:51 PM EDT

Go AMC!!!!! I’m watching these tonight

Ghosted by knight @ 07/13/2007 8:58 PM EDT

I should mention I was out at the county fair in Jersey tonight… Some of those people may actually be Jason.

Ghosted by knight @ 07/13/2007 9:02 PM EDT

I too, will be using the DVD boxset instead of AMC. I’ll watch them in order up until The Final Chapter because after that one I lost interest in them. Also, that damn incomplete boxset made me have to buy Jason Goes To Hell, Jason X (Shudders), and Freddy Vs. Jason seperately. Damn my need to complete things.

Ghosted by Boomstick @ 07/13/2007 9:03 PM EDT

I went to the grocery store and bought Tato Skins. I win the “best junk food” contest I was running in my head.

F13 tonight?  Sounds great.  I live in Michigan and here it doesn’t start till 10:30, so all you guys and gals who get to start watching it at 9:30 suck.  Plus I can’t eat junk food (just had my wisdom teeth out today), so I’m limited to yogurt and cream of ________ soups.  But still…it’s Jason, baby!

Ghosted by Cid Rain @ 07/13/2007 9:22 PM EDT

Cid Rain

Michigan is using EDT, correct?  If so, then 9:30 my time (Chicago time, CST) is 10:30 your time.

Unless this whole time zone thing is much more complicated than I ever suspected it was.

“Stupid farmers and their time zones”…..(Homer simpson)

They never play the sixth one… That’s the best… I like to call that one Ninja Jason…It seems like he throws knives all over the place and never once does the butt end of the knife hit anyone….He’s got mad skills.

Ghosted by knight @ 07/13/2007 9:29 PM EDT

T-minus 60 minutes until it begins.

Much like little Pearl, the landlord, I need to start getting my drink on.

Ghosted by Magic Toe @ 07/13/2007 9:32 PM EDT

I don’t really understand time zones. The clock may read something different on the otherside of the world, and it may be light out right now, but in an absolute sense it is still the same time.

Kinda like how Bill & Ted travel all over time, but the clock is still ticking in San Dimas. I was always befuddled how that was stipulated in EA but in BJ they take honeymoons and learn how to play.

I dunno.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/13/2007 9:44 PM EDT

The only requirements I have so far are that it can learn Slash and it’s weak to Water-type moves. :3 Any thoughts, Pokemon players?

Hmmm…The only one I can think of that fills both of these is Sandslash. Learns Slash and is weak against water. Then again, Diglett & Dugtrio do too, but they just don’t seem Jason material.

This is my favorite blog post ever. It really captures the essence of what this is. Not to mention, this is something I can actually talk about (I am not a gamer and don’t know anything about Pokemon).

No Friday the 13th baby but Mrs. Manimal is still hoping for Bastille Day (For those who forgot/never knew, she is a French teacher). That would be fine with me because I could play the RUSH song ad nauseum in the delivery room. :)

I will chime in more when Part III comes on.

Ghosted by El Loco Gordo @ 07/13/2007 11:37 PM EDT

Not to ruin the friday the 13th fun ya’ll are having, but I want to say something fairly important.

I went to burger king to enjoy my friend’s paycheck wealth today, while I was eating my tendergrill sandwich after seeing the homer oooo’ing over the ultimate whopper (i think it was) the little paper ad stand thing on the table had a simpsons version of the burger king on it!  And a site simpsonizeme.com that you go and make your own simpsons character outta yourself!!  I was like omg I have been wanting this since I was 8!!  But when we went home it said coming soon on July 16 Doh!  lol I’m so lame anyway I just wanted everyone to know so I would be the first and I feel I am worthy enough.  I am going to do my best friend’s first and if it’s ugly I won’t do myself on it lol but it would be a great myspace avatar at least, no?

it’s simpsonizeme.com

and there is a new butterfinger pie that I got and if you like butterfinger you would like it it’s good.  But it’s creamy and limp like the sundae pie.

Doesn’t Jason ever take advantage of all the naked chicks he happens across? Y’know… sexually?

Ghosted by Mystie @ 07/13/2007 11:38 PM EDT

and…it looks like I’ve been binned.  :(  OMG the room is shaking!  what could it be!?

Ghosted by Cameron T. @ 07/13/2007 11:38 PM EDT

I love how in every movie when the characters in danger find a gun it is always given to the male character.  As if every man is born with some innate knowledge of the inner workings of firearms.

Ghosted by Magic Toe @ 07/13/2007 11:39 PM EDT

Is mine running behind some of your’s? I just got to the penis enlarger/magnifying glass.

yeah, I’m on DVD Mystie.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/13/2007 11:41 PM EDT

Mystie

Sadly I do not think he can.  Perhaps that is why he is so aggressive.  He is bitter about not being able to satisfy a woman.  Maybe if he were able to “perform” better he could have become the next Hugh Hefner.

Ghosted by Magic Toe @ 07/13/2007 11:42 PM EDT

I feel bad for the people who are seeing these movies for the first time on television.  Fucking editing and horrible commercial break timing.  Way to kill any building suspense asswipes!

Jason has leveled up from the Machete to a Halbeard.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/13/2007 11:45 PM EDT

I hate when they have animals like cats in these movies because I always get so terrified that they’re going to hurt the damn cat.  I could care less about the stupid teenagers.

Ghosted by Annette @ 07/13/2007 11:46 PM EDT

I like the severed head that chick just found. Bad special effects are much more charming.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/13/2007 11:49 PM EDT

The only movie I can think of off the top of head in which they hurt the damn cat was Re-Animator. I guess that’s more of a zombie movie than a slasher flick, but it’s close enough to being on-topic for me.

Anyone else besides me wish Lar Park Lincoln would have played her Tina Shepard character on Knots Landing instead of her usual character?

TINA SHEPARD
“Take that Greg Sumner!”

Greg’s head begins to sweat profusely.  The tension on his face begins to build and his eyes become wide with fear.  His glare rises to meet hers…

His head explodes with a sudden pop.

TINA collapses to the floor of Greg’s office, now freshly coated in a spray of Sumner’s blood and brain matter.

She is sobbing.

Joan Van Ark runs into comfort her.  They hug.  The music swells to a triumphant tune.

That would have been so much better.  Screw my mom for always having Knots Landing on.

Jason vs. Freddy vs. Michael Myers vs. Pumpkinhead vs. Candyman vs. The Leprechaun (Warwick!) vs. A Bad Taste bastard vs. Billy (Black Christmas) vs. Horace Pinker vs. a random C.H.U.D. vs. a robot from Chopping Mall vs. Carrie vs. Isaac (Children of the Corn) vs. Ash vs. The Fly vs. Henry vs. The Hitcher vs. Pluto (Hills Have Eyes) vs. Jaws vs. a Killer Klown from Outer Space vs. The machine gun wielding hippo from Meet the Feebles vs. Church the cat vs. the Phantasm sphere vs. Norman Bates vs. a few crows from The Birds vs. Dr. West vs. Angela from Sleepaway Camp vs. that little wall troll thing from Cat’s Eye vs. Leatherface vs. Rawhead Rex vs. The Thing vs. Dan Quayle vs. Potatoe vs. the Cryptkeeper vs. Bub vs. Pascow (Pet Semetary) vs. weird creatures from The Pit vs. Captain Spaulding vs. Mr. Peanut vs. Patrick Bateman vs. that American Werewolf in London.

Hiya, everybody!  Unfortunately, I can only daydream about the kind of action-packed, fun-and-cream-filled evening Matt lined out.  My fiance is ill and sleeping on the floor by my feet, we haven’t moved the couch yet so I’m stuck sitting in a crappy chair that sits lopsided, and the closest thing to junk food we have in the house is bagels and strawberry cream cheese.  Oh well, at least the cable is hooked up and I can watch some F13 with you guys (coincidentally, this will be the fist time I’ve seen any of these since I was 5 years old).

Yeah, Matt, it’s me!!  Amazing, no?  I’ve been keeping up with the Megaparty, but always a day late so there’s not much chance of getting in on the conversation. :(  Now that the ‘net is working at the new house, I should be able to check in more often.  Thanks for missing me! :D

By the way, strawberry cream cheese is way better on celery than… well… just about anything else.

80’s gang members will FUCKIN’ CUT YOU

Ghosted by the Gripp @ 07/14/2007 12:51 AM EDT

I concur, Vera is the hottie.
I’m sure she’ll live.

Ghosted by The Manimal @ 07/14/2007 12:52 AM EDT

Okay, I don’t know about anyone else, but I found that scene fucking hilarious.

Ghosted by Annette @ 07/14/2007 12:52 AM EDT

Special K: I’m always looking for ways to make celery more attractive.  I’ll have to try this.

See what I mean about Shelly?  His fight-to-flee ratio is the mark of a hero.

Ghosted by Matt @ 07/14/2007 12:53 AM EDT

I’d argue Strawberry Cream Cheese is better on a Spoon.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/14/2007 12:53 AM EDT

Wow Gripp this site looks like it will be keeping me busy for quite awhile…they have VII so I’m guess I’m in for the rerun.

Ghosted by Danny J @ 07/14/2007 12:53 AM EDT

I can’t help but notice that there was a lot more ethnic diversity amongst gang members in the 70’s/80’s. the Warriors, the f13 bikers, the dance gangs in Breakin’ 2: electric boogaloo…

Ghosted by the Gripp @ 07/14/2007 12:53 AM EDT

Hahaha.  The first time Matt speaks to me directly (I think) he calls me Magic Toy.

I do have red pepper though.  My thoughts are wandering to the deep freeze I have in my garage.  What subzero surprises from 2005 might it contain?

An investigation may be in order.

Ghosted by Magic Toy @ 07/14/2007 12:53 AM EDT

God damn it, stop telling me to slow down cowboy. One more time, what did Shelly “do”? I turned away just before the break.

Ghosted by dohopoki @ 07/14/2007 12:54 AM EDT

Sorry, Toe!  I’m in a frenzy.

Ghosted by Matt @ 07/14/2007 12:55 AM EDT

I really wish I had some of those little chocolate covered donuts right now…the closest I can get is an English muffin. :[

Ghosted by Annette @ 07/14/2007 12:55 AM EDT

Butterfly of Death strikes again.

Ghosted by Lori @ 07/14/2007 12:55 AM EDT

yeah Danny J, just be careful, that site took my soul for a bit. Check the forums for more up to date links. Another one, one thats good for divx quality movie/tv streams is joox.net Just watched the first conan on there and I’m pretty sure the quality was better than my DVD of pt. 2

Ghosted by theGripp @ 07/14/2007 12:56 AM EDT

Doho: The biker gang messed with him and Vera, and the lead biker dude broke their car windshield with a chain.  So Shelly put on a pair of sunglasses and drove over all their motorcycles.

Kidding about the glasses.  Serious about the cycles.  Serious about Shelly.

Ghosted by Matt @ 07/14/2007 12:56 AM EDT

Yeah, gangs in the ’70s and ’80s were much more racially diverse than today.  If there is anything we should learn from the Hollywood gangs of yesteryear it is acceptance of others, regardless of skin color.

Ghosted by Magic Toy @ 07/14/2007 12:56 AM EDT

Sorry doho, words can’t describe it.

Since we are on break, I totally agree with Annette’s way earlier post about the nastification of DAIRY QUEEN products due to the new ad campaign. I don’t see them turning into the new TASTERS CHOICE couple.

Ghosted by The Manimal @ 07/14/2007 12:57 AM EDT

YAY the infamous Yo-Yo scene.

Ghosted by El Loco Gordo @ 07/14/2007 12:57 AM EDT

Hahaha. The first time Matt speaks to me directly (I think) he calls me Magic Toy.

“Kup, you old piece of shit. And that’s what you’ll be from now on….Shitpiece”

Matt can change names at will, he’s our Optimus Prime.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/14/2007 12:58 AM EDT

It just seems like we’ve all forgotten that if you cut a punkass mark, he’ll bleed red no matter what color he is on the outside.

Ghosted by the Gripp @ 07/14/2007 12:58 AM EDT

Thanks for the advice if I dont pass out before the rerun I’ll try to get it streaming…hope the wi-fi holds…go go gadget interweb.

Ghosted by Danny J @ 07/14/2007 12:58 AM EDT

Now, to investigate that deep freeze in the garage.  I think an inventory is in order.

Ghosted by Magic Toy @ 07/14/2007 12:59 AM EDT

I fail to see the logic of showing a Lunesta commercial during a marathon in which they want you to stay awake. You can’t watch other commercials while you’re asleep!

Ghosted by Bludge @ 07/14/2007 12:59 AM EDT

Waitaminute… the yo-yo… being a total F13 newb… was this the one that was 3-D?  I remember Matt featuring the yo-yo clip in one of those articles…

Ghosted by Special K @ 07/14/2007 12:59 AM EDT

Jason is so, so cool in this movie.  You’re not going to believe how much different he looks in his youth when compared to Part VII.

Ghosted by Matt @ 07/14/2007 12:59 AM EDT

There’s one more thing that pisses me off about those DQ commercials:  We don’t have DQ in stupid effing Oklahoma anymore.  Those bastards.  I want a Blizzard.

Ghosted by Annette @ 07/14/2007 12:59 AM EDT

This is actually an interesting take on Jason. He’s hulking, realistic (?), bald now for some reason

Ghosted by The Manimal @ 07/14/2007 1:01 AM EDT

Thanks Matt. Also, didn’t that Yo-Yo actually hit her when said it was close? I thought sure I heard a thud.

Ghosted by dohopoki @ 07/14/2007 1:01 AM EDT

that white gang member is so sleazy looking that it almost defies physics.

Ghosted by the Gripp @ 07/14/2007 1:01 AM EDT

If you’re drunk enough you can put on your 3D glasses and not know the difference.

Ghosted by Mystie @ 07/14/2007 1:01 AM EDT

Annette: My sentiments exactly!!!  The nearest one to me is in Shawnee… that’s about a 30 minute drive… ah, but they’re closed!  Damn the luck!

Ghosted by Special K @ 07/14/2007 1:01 AM EDT

For a rebellious biker chick, she’s pretty easily amused.  I mean, come on…it’s a fucking canteen.

Ghosted by Matt @ 07/14/2007 1:02 AM EDT

Shawnee? Are you in PA, Special K?

Ghosted by the Gripp @ 07/14/2007 1:02 AM EDT

She reminds me of an evil Phylicia Rhashad.

Ghosted by The Manimal @ 07/14/2007 1:03 AM EDT

sheesh talk about easily amused. they must not have rope swings where she’s from.

Ghosted by the Gripp @ 07/14/2007 1:04 AM EDT

This is actually working out really well. We need to do this again.

Ghosted by Knegative @ 07/14/2007 1:04 AM EDT

Christ, that yo-yo must’ve destroyed everyone playing the 3-D effect drinking game.

I’m rocking the junk food with Pop Tarts and homemade sopidillas(fried tortillas coated with cinnamon sugar). Homemade may be less traditional, but damn if they aren’t good and bitching unhealthy.

Looking up newfangled pokemon during the breaks. I haven’t played any of the games since the originals, and like Matt, I dropped out hen they got to that Johto place(I kinda felt abandoned, since I didn’t have the new games. Seriously, I did.). I’m thinking about getting in on the action again, but I can’t decide if I’d start with a Turtwig or a Piplup(really not feeling that Chimchar fella).

Ghosted by Spruce @ 07/14/2007 1:04 AM EDT

the Gripp: Nope, Oklahoma.  Annette was remarking on the lack of DQs here and I was agreeing with her.  Do they have DQs in PA?!

Ghosted by Special K @ 07/14/2007 1:04 AM EDT

this is one too many pitchforks to be believable!

Ghosted by dohopoki @ 07/14/2007 1:05 AM EDT

Well, that death scene was certainly drawn out.

Ghosted by Matt @ 07/14/2007 1:05 AM EDT

He held onto that cig for a long time after getting impaled.  What a champ.

Ghosted by Annette @ 07/14/2007 1:05 AM EDT

She reminds me of an evil Phylicia Rhashad.

Funny, I was thinking Debbie Allen. There must be a family resemblance.

Ghosted by Lori @ 07/14/2007 1:05 AM EDT

yeah, right near Shawnee as a matter of fact. Near that horrible Snake and Animal Farm that Matt wrote about a few years back.

Ghosted by the Gripp @ 07/14/2007 1:05 AM EDT

Why did he just walk around for the last 5 minutes with an unlit cigarette in his mouth.

Ghosted by El Loco Gordo @ 07/14/2007 1:05 AM EDT

So I take a gander at the TV and Frasier’s brother’s wife is on the doctor bed thing in a vet’s office and jason schwar
